Our first perception was this specific restaurant appeared to be dirty. The entrance had trash on the carpet and also around our table in the atrium. However, our server Ross was exceptional with his attentiveness and genuine hospitality. Our meals didn't disappoint as we enjoyed the traditional lettuce wraps and eggs rolls as appetizers! Our entrees were cooked to our preferences and our server was on point. The overall meals featured two chicken dishes along with two beef based meals. These meals exceeded our expectation. Chinese food is one of my favorite and I would say it's better than most in my opinion. This place can be pricey but I feel that it's worth every penny since you receive high-quality food and based on my experience the flavor doesn't change from location to location. My top picks are always the broccoli beef dish or the sweet and sour chicken. These restaurants are what I consider to be the business casual kind of dining since it's very nice and seems upscale since you're paying a high dollar price for the food and everything else. I always get the egg rolls which go great along with any of their dishes. I personally grew up in the culture where Chinese food is economical and that's why I have a hard time paying so much at these locations but at the end of the day the food quality is there and it is worth paying the higher dollar price. read more

Feeling silly writing a review of a chain restaurant, but I'm doing it. I visited PFC in Detroit area when they first arrived in my hometown area, more than 10 years ago. My recent visit was average, as expected. Traveling solo this week, I was quickly seated on Monday evening. The restaurant was nowhere near full, but the waiters failed to make contact for approximately 5 minutes. To be fair, I was surrounded by two large parties celebrating birthdays. I moved myself to bar area, and got immediate attention. I ordered the lettuce chicken wraps and a cold Shiner Bock. Bartender was friendly and talkative. Food was delivered within minutes. Great flavors, but the presentation was lacking. Simply two mounds: lettuce and chicken. I'm recommending the presentation of this signature dish gets a facelift. read more

Had lunch at PF Chang's today. Around 1pm, it was still relatively crowded, but my family didn't have to wait. For an appetizer, we split the lettuce wraps ($10). The chicken is marinated well, and the dipping sauces were delicious. For my entree, I ordered the Mongolian beef ($17.50). It came with a side of white/brown rice and green onions. While it was pricey, the flavor was superb! I would definitely order again. Last comment is about their rewards program. The waiter insisted we should enroll because it's free, and we were able to do so in seconds. The portions are quite small. I ordered dinner portions of the chang's spicy chicken and Kung pow chicken. Both were okay.... A bit salty. Both were battered and stir fried in sauces. They do give you the option to have brown or white rice. Service was also a bit slow considering that it wasn't busy at all. I saw my serve maybe 3 times. :/ Lunch ends at 4 pm. Family members have raved about P.F. Chang's for years so I decided to try it! Overall their food is ok. There are a few things that were surprising for the quality of restaurant they are supposed to be. For the price it's shocking they don't de-string the snap peas! Restaurants with prices and quality half that of P.F. Chang's pay their staff to de-string snap peas! Also, the broccoli and green beans weren't quite cooked all the way. The fact that they have purely vegetarian options is a point for them. The Brussels sprouts came with a ton of cashews and maybe 6 or 7 Brussels sprouts which would make each one a dollar. I called only to be placed on hold for over 15 minutes. While someone next to me called while I'm on hold and was able to place the order without any issues or being placed on hold. So not a good start, then after having placed the order they called back to notify me that the order could not be complete due to missing ingredients. I was excited to spend Valentine's Day at P. F. Chang's. I knew it was going to be packed so we decided to do take out. I ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen with shrimp. The food was really good but unfortunately I noticed the tomatoes were very very acidic. I don't know if the tomatoes were rotten or not ready to eat, but soon when I was about to go to bead I felt super sick. This is a refreshing story of fulfillment in the RGV. I sometimes assume that the valley's lackluster customer service will be prevalent anywhere I go. As a vegan, I expect salty looks from some of the wait staff, and sometimes even the cooks. Not at PF Chang's. We were greeted by a friendly server. As soon as I started up with my usual line of questioning, the server, JoJo, told me she would return shortly with an answer. Ma Po Tofu was the one dish I was eyeballing... HARD! Much to my surprise the manager, Jonie, makes her way to the table and says "I am here to make your dining experience as pleasant as possible." I was taken aback. She not only answered all the questions I had about the Ma Po, she also recommend the Coconut Curry, as well as several other options for a vegan. I am so pleased with the level of integrity for the product, as well as the knowledge she displayed for all the products they proudly serve. I was very grateful for the outstanding service! 5 stars! The quality has been consistently and considerably decreasing in the last 6 months. Tonight my rice was not cooked properly (yes, I do know the difference between al dente and underdone) and was crunchy. The dish was also not flavorful which is certainly a departure from previous visits. Maybe is this the reason for the parking lot and restaurant being nearly empty at 7:30 when all the other restaurants in the plaza were full. I like this place, its got consistently good food every-time. It's not the most flavorful in the world but certainly better than a run-of-the-mill Chinese buffet. I've been here at least 5 times, so it must be pretty good ;) If you've never been try the orange peel chicken, (for spice)the Kung Pao chicken, or the PF Changs spicy chicken which are all good choices. It is a sit down take your order type place in case you've never been. Pei Wei is the faster food version of this place as they are owned by the same people I believe. They have a variety of hot teas like Dragon Oolong which is my favorite. Their ice tea is very good in my opinion. They bring the spices to your table in small cups and there is chili oil, soy, and another condiment on table as well (I forget what the clear one is called). I miss that they used to mix the different cups together for you years ago and now they just drop it off and your on your own. The dumplings are great and if you really like more flavor in your fried rice ask for the "kids" fried rice. All in all a very good place to go but not excellent. April 15, 2018. The execution from the service to the food to the vibe was really bad and and creepy. PF Changs is good, but this is one is pretty fucked up. My partner and I sat at the bar for beer and dinner. Bartender was a young kid, not knowing what he wanted in life, talking back to the hostess who clearly had to help him with a table in his bar area, and was clearly on his way out. He had a huge pile of dishes and glasses in front of us that he couldn't clean up since we arrived and never cleaned till we left. There were two other people at the bar the whole time with us while we were there. He also kept talking to us like he was our friend, it was very unprofessional and weird. The manager was a young guy too, who was good at walking around and putting on the face of acting like he cared, but did not want to walk the part. Those nasty, dirty drink glasses and food covered dishes from previous patrons were right in the manager's site when he came to "check in" on the bartender. Nothing happened with them. Food was sub par for PF Changs. I've been to tons of PF Changs, they're delicious. Not this one. Stay away from this PF Changs. read more
