I was super excited to go to one of my favorite places to eat in the downtown area. We arrived right at 11 AM for lunch we were seated promptly. Was asked what we wanted to drink and of course any appetizers I loved the lettuce wraps one of my favorites. I was having a hard time trying to find my favorite meal so I ask the server if she could show me where the Korean barbecue stirfry is? And then she told me it got removed on the menu I was literally crushed that's the best thing ever that heat level was perfect... Well this sucks now I don't know what I want that was the best stirfry in Spokane :( I ended up getting that mandarin crunch salad and I added salmon. The salmon was cooked perfectly. I want to start off by saying that the server Gabby was fantastic. The restaurant was also very accommodating as we had to change our reservations a few times at the last minute. The food is pretty good but the portions are small and it's expensive for what you get. My complaint is that I came here on my birthday and I wanted duck. All they have now is the duck spring rolls but they were all out of them at 7:00 PM on a Friday. This is pretty weak. I literally drove down here from Idaho just to get some duck. If you're vegan and worry about the sugar production methods, there is one dish available to you. If you're like me, there are 6. I had the stir fry eggplant and it was outstanding. So, so good. At the Spokane, WA PF Changs - They have gone down hill. Their food used to be really good. We used to love their fried rice, but they changed it. Now it tastes like regular brown rice. There wasn't even enough salt, much less any seasoning. And you have to pay extra for it!! It's $25.00 just for a bowl of fried rice, and some chicken. And the chickens not good anymore either. 4 people to eat was $125.00. The food doesn't taste horrible, but it doesn't taste good either. For example, the food at Panda Express is better. My daughter was like, "I like the chicken at Panda better." The orange chicken was unexpectedly spicy with no orange flavor at all, the Honey chicken that used to be super good, is now bland and plane. And the sweet and sour chicken that used to be my favorite is now flavorless. My husband and son's salad wasn't even good! They didn't even eat it. And we all ordered the fried rice, but none of us at it. We could have bought the bag of orange chicken from the frozen section of the grocery store that feeds 4 of us for $8.00, and it tastes better. So, it's just a total rip off. The rice I make at home tastes better. I've learned my lesson. I will never go back. But the service was great, so I guess that's a plus. From the waiter rushing us even though it was not crowded or near closing time, to him entering the wrong entree to forgetting one of our drinks, to the kitchen leaving out a protein ingredient (I kid not) and bringing it in a separate dish later via another waiter who didn't understand it either... Sigh. Couldn't wait to leave. Also, why does their Pad Thai dish have half a plate of crushed peanuts practically dwarfing the main meal? The food just didn't stand out as something to brag about. I can only speak of my order which was the orange chicken that came with a side of lo mein. The orange chicken was breaded heavy and the sauce was meh. The lo mein noodles were just a plain bowl of noodles that really didn't have any flavor contribution. Another person in our party orders the Korean noodles that was so heavily coated with pepper they couldn't even eat it. The manager gave us a $50 gift card for that reason but the waiter originally said that's just how it comes. Overall the service and staff was great and very friendly. The inside of the building is super cool. Despite how impressive appearances were, the pricing was actually very moderate! With an average of $15 per lunch meal and plenty of options, my date and I ordered two rice bowls: Mediterranean beef and Kung Poa Chicken. They turned out great and looked awesome, too. So I'll give this restaurant a 2 ONLY because we expected more from them on Valentines Day - the lettuce wraps are always perfect, and we decided to venture out and get the Waygu Beef which was an up charge for their special for the holiday. Don't do it. The charge was $10 on top of the $55 for the special and not only did the food come out cold, there wasn't even enough there to feed a small child. The portions used to be filling, now they simply require a stop by the local McDonald's on the way home. We sent the beef back and waited, and waited, and waited, all the while our rice and noodles got cold as well. We ended up taking the 7 SMALL strips of beef home as well as the cheesecake, (when I say small - I am talking pieces no wider than a small highlighter and maybe three inches long) the cheesecake - let me tell you about the cheesecake it was runny and tasted like an old fridge. David Chang is one of my favorite chef's out there on TV .. David Chang from ugly delicious !! (oh you should watch it) .. I though PF Chang was his chain along with momofuku (yeah yeah "Chang Chang" notions, my bad) .. and the only reason I went here the other day .. To be honest, this is my first time to any PF Chang out there and I was terribly disappointed .. which guess what has to do with food. :D Came back home thought of putting a sarcastic tweet of something to David Chang .. glad I doubled checked and got a correction that it is not his food chain .. phew .. you are again one of my favorite out there Mr. Chang. So, coming back to our lunch experience .. And I won't even talk about the prices :P, where in the world is a black pepper chicken 18 dollars .. and if it is it should be something to set a benchmark on .. this one, the one that I ate was just alright, nothing to write home about. Then there was this "Buddha's Feast" .. stir fried veggies and tofu in some sauce .. a vegetarian dish to be precise. We were asked if we wanted the veggies to be steamed or stir fried .. we wanted stir fried but the veggies were so soft that no stir fry would make them so .. anyway .. and also the tofu was to be found in the dish .. We were looking forward to a nice lunch with our sons, and our experience was honestly a bit underwhelming. For the pretty high prices (our lunch bill was $100 without any beverages), we expected more, especially since it wasn't busy at all. My Chang's Spicy Chicken Bowl came out lukewarm. One of my sons chose to "upgrade" to fried rice for his dish, and it clearly didn't come with the fried rice, which we pointed out to the server and waitress, but still ended up getting charged for it since they claimed it was indeed fried rice (it wasn't). We also felt rushed when the dessert menu was presented before we had even really started our entrees. We were also surprised that the restroom sinks had ice cold water, which doesn't seem super hygienic. I don't think we will be returning. read more

Dumplings need more time frying. Hoisin sauce for dumplings was almost pure soy...not really working for me. Calamari was great, especially with the banging zip of the red chili sauce. Lettuce wraps were pretty darn awesome. Service overall was pretty good, but had to ask for refills on water a lot. I don't mean to sound like a snob, but for the money we paid we should never had to ask for refills. Maybe I was too pumped up by FINALLY getting to try PF Changs. Im very concerned for this location. I went out expecting a nice brunch and was met with a very uncomfortable environment. I was sat near the kitchen and was able to hear a female worker in the back screaming profanities at another worker. I was astounded by this! We had a great light cocktail hour at PF Chang's in downtown Spokane. The open air seating area was great with large roll up doors and plenty of social distancing. I felt very safe here and the restrooms and public areas were all being kept very clean. The service was decent, nothing to write home about, but efficient and kind if not solicitous. We shared a Milton lava cake for dessert and enjoyed a pomegranate vodka cocktail which had lovely presentation and flavor. I am a big fan of their happy hour. They have a lot of great food options, including options to fit dietary needs (i.e. gluten free and veg). They also have great prices on their drinks. They have some cocktails on special, as well as some beers and a few types of wines. Happy hour is especially nice when the weather is good and you can take advantage of their outdoor patio. That said, the inside is well-decorated and feels more upscale than one might expect. The food is consistent, although I wouldn't say it is the best I've ever had. At least you know what to expect. It is a chain restaurant, and you're going to get that type of mass-market experience. Mostly, just go for happy hour. read more
