The new bar at the Line hotel that opened Friday was really cool in a lot of ways, however there are still a lot of kinks to be worked out. The drink menu was tasty and I liked the several different rooms, especially the outdoor fireplace. The lounge area with the mismatched patterns and dark grandmother like wall paper was odd to me design wise. Perhaps the best part about this location is the great view it has! What really made me give this 3 stars was the wait staff. It was not very busy last night while we were there, we sat in the lounge area for over 20 minutes and then I had to flag someone down to order a drink. Ok no big deal. When we are ready for the check we request it-30 minutes go by and still no check. It got to the point where I went and asked someone else if they could bring us the check. I felt like by this point they should not have charged us for the two drinks we got but they did. I would go back for the view, and it is a new opening so some hiccups are expected. read more

Made a reservation same day for the patio to watch the bats. Arrive to a less desirable table than we wanted the manager was more than accommodating and moved us to the exact table we wanted. We then ordered drinks of which the waitress came back last then five minutes later stating that they had to remake them because when they were coming to the table there was an accident and they fell. This then sparked them to give us a complementary cheese and meat platter all because our drinks didn't come out within five minutes of which we had our drinks within 10 minutes of ordering them anyway. The waitress was incredibly attentive the customer service was phenomenal the drinks were very good and the view of the bats emerging is simply breathtaking. Living in Dallas I will say that there is no such thing as customer service and this was a very refreshing change. read more

Beautiful location. The food was small portioned but very well presented! We had gougeres, patatas, and a garbanzo dip amongst other things. Waverly was very helpful to us last night. We had not made a reservation but she went out of her way to find a spot where our very large group could occupy ourselves until that reservation showed up. She also gave an extensive description on all the food and cocktails. We weren't impressed with the small selection on food, however she encouraged us to try almost everything! She was extremely attentive and was happy to take many group shots of us! 10/10 service! What a doll! read more

Everything here was fabulous. Make a reservation if you want to sit outside or on the patio because it has a gorgeous view of the water and it was packed when we went so we sat inside. Our server was super knowledgeable, honest about everything, and awesome all around. The drinks were amazing! We also were there during "brunch" time although the menu didn't seem like it but we ordered biscuits which were great but the onion hummus was life changing. Probably the best hummus any of us had ever had. I would Uber here because I don't think parking is easy in the area but it was worth it for the drinks and apps. read more

I've been here before around sunset and loved it. I'm a local, and I also work at a hotel so I am very familiar with this place. When the time came to pick a brunch spot for my birthday this seemed like a no brainer. We sat down and another party of 2 sat down after us, they were greeted first. No big deal as I said I work in the industry I know how it is. The server didn't write down our order but said she'd put it in for us. We ordered the biscuits, paptatas bravas and Shakshouka. The biscuits and patatas came out before our drinks. The table next to us had theirs already. I had to flag someone down to grab our server for us. A few minutes later she came back with our drinks, I'm not sure if she forgot to put them in or something but it was not that busy. I did not like the shakshouka it had a strange flavor to it I had to have someone else flag down our server again for us. I informed her I didn't like it and she just said "no worries we'll take it off" instead of asking if there was anything else she could do. At that point we decided to leave and go elsewhere. Next time I guess I'll just stick to cocktails at sunset. read more

I'm writing to you regarding my experience in your restaurant yesterday for a birthday celebration. Once we stepped off the elevator, the entrance was roped off with a greeting sign that said "CLOSED". However, the hostess was standing behind the host desk. She says "how can I help you". Which I replied with "we have a reservation at 4pm for 3". She replies with "I'm sorry, we don't open for one more minute, but I guess I can open up now". 1 minute... ok. Weird. She seats us. Either the server assistant or the busser delivers water to the table immediately... thinking this was a great sign. A server approached the table to inform us that our table server was going to be 20 minutes late, and that he would be assisting our table until he arrived. WEIRD. Our "real" waiter did make an appearance, but he only came back to our table once, before asking for the check. It was NOT 20 minutes. We order the following: - house made pickles. The flavor was underwhelming. Vinegar and crushed red pepper. WOW. - roasted tomato dip. I love spicy, but it had no flavor. Just acidic tomatoes. and it was too heat/spicy forward for the rest of my guests, so I was the only one that could eat it. BACK IT DOWN. - charcuterie & house pate board. I'm not a fan of pate, so no comment. 3 pieces of pepperoni (one which was destroyed by the meat slicer or a really dull knife), which should not have been plated. And the equivalent of beef tongue. While I get it is a Chef selection board, that should have been introduced upon ordering. Beef Tongue! Also, the portion size was for 1, not 3. - artisanal cheese, Triple cream, white cheddar, chevre. The expediter or server assistant that sat the cheese board down (not our fake or real server) could not place any of the creameries or farmhouse names to associate the 3, or if they were even local. The portion size of these 3 low end cheeses, do not seem worth $25 especially if your staff doesn't know what they are delivering. Everything was just one note. When I made my reservation on your website, I was asked what this reservation was for: the occasion. I wrote in "Birthday". I'm not sure why you ask this question as part of the reservation process. The information was not relevant as it was not needed. No one was mindful of that information. No happy birthday. $150 dollars later, (including the $80 in resort passes to the pool. And $100 at the pool window for drinks, chips, and salsa. $330 total in. I could have gone to Juniper, Dai Dui, Emmer & Rye, and many others with 3 people, ordered apps, entree's, and bottles of wine, and paid that. Is it that this is a Hotel, and most of your guests dining are tourists, and the food, and manners of your staff are not important. **************************************************************** You have to pay $10 for self-parking, and that's the validated price -There's an automatic gratuity regardless of party size (not a big deal) and 3% "Covid surcharge for health and safety measures" which none of it goes to staff. ************************************************************ 18% automatic gratuity for a table of 3. and considering the entire staff were all wearing their own masks and they were only spraying down tables, it seemed pretty shady to me. Sad. I was hoping this was my summer destination. Best of luck, but you are only paying for the view. Not the experience, not the hospitality, and certainly NOT the FOOD. Be prepared for 22% gratuity for crap. read more

Came here for a cocktail and to watch the south Congress bats. Hostess was very nice and fit us in with no reservation but after waiting 15 minutes and having multiple servers walk by us, nobody bothered to greet us. Walked out without being stopped or questioned by anyone. Watch the bats from the bridge then go somewhere else for drinks. read more

Finally! A terrace bar in Austin. I was very pleasantly surprised when we stepped off the elevator to see the beautiful lights and rolling hills of the beautiful Austin skyline. Loved all the cozy seating options. The staff's uniform is hot. And the drinks were pieces of art and tasted great. 10/10 will be returning soon. Anyone who is anyone needs to check this bar out. The view and drinks are great. But I wish they had more fans running, because it can get oppressively hot. So much so, all I could do was think about the poor wait staff. Management forces them to wear these ridiculous jumpsuits as they think the image of a parking lot attendant somehow adds to the experience of watching bats. This full length, heavy denim body suit is worn in 102 degree heat. It's ridiculous. Ownership should be ashamed of themselves. Watching sweat pour down the servers face, imaging how tortured they are, ruined the experience for me. I am surprised none of them passed out. This is a lawsuit waiting to happen. And it will take a waiter fainting from heat exhaustion and hitting their head on the 100 degree concrete for them to do anything about it. read more

In town visiting and had some time to kill before we headed off to dinner. Saw this place and the views were amazing, service was sub-par but not bad. Here comes the kickers, after getting the bill we saw they charge you a COVID fee, this should be disclosed beforehand. Not a big deal but the important question is whether the restaurants are disclosing to consumers what they are paying before they pay it, so they can make their own informed choices. Next, we were 4 people and they added gratuity to the check, for 4 people!!!!!! The service was subpar and didn't deserve a $12 tip, last but not least, we order 4 old fashions @ $12 a pop and they make it with Jim bean, I've had better old fashions made with better whiskey and charged less. In the end, this place is worth the views but not the drinks, food, or service. There are other places in ATX that do it better than P6. read more

I will never return to this bar. I am staying at The Line hotel and was so exited to go to this hotel bar. They immediately told me I was overserved (I had 2 drinks beforehand), they refused to serve me. My cousin ordered a drink, brought it back to the table, and I had one sip of it. The waitress came running across the room to inform me I wasn't allowed to have a sip of her drink. I will never recommend this bar to anyone. There are so many amazing bars in Austin and this is NOT one of them. read more
