That's usually not a glowing endorsement of company culture. My mother hired this company to open our pool because we had used them before the ownership change and had always had a good experience. Unfortunately, this experience felt like a masterclass in how to lose long-time customers. Mariah initially quoted us one price, but after seeing the property apparently decided that quote was more of a "suggestion" than an actual number. We were told the price needed to increase because, and I quote, "How else am I supposed to pay my employees?" While payroll is certainly an important business expense, I'm fairly certain the accepted method is not surprising customers with inflated invoices after the fact. The billing somehow became even more impressive when we were charged for 2.5 hours of labor at $140 per hour instead of the $95 per hour we were originally told. The only problem? Her own employee confirmed the crew was at the house for approximately one hour and fifteen minutes. Unless someone has recently invented time travel, the math isn't mathing. Not only were we billed far beyond what was discussed, but the crew also managed to break our pool pump and then attempted to blame us for it. Which raises an interesting question: If we knew how to operate the pump, troubleshoot pool equipment, and properly open a pool ourselves, why would we hire a pool company in the first place? The answer is simple--we wouldn't. We hired professionals specifically because we don't mess with equipment we aren't trained to handle (shocking right?). At the end of the day, mistakes happen. Equipment breaks. But changing prices, overbilling for time that wasn't worked, and refusing accountability when something goes wrong is a spectacular way to send loyal customers directly to your competitors. As a final suggestion, it may be worth hiring someone dedicated to invoicing and customer relations. Because if this experience is the standard, the only thing getting cleaned out this season will be the customer list, and Mariah if you're reading this and absolutely hate your job, have the other co-owner buy you out, and live your best life....far away from customer service because it is not your specialty. 10/10 do not recommend.

Minella Pools has been opening and closing our inground pool for at least 20 years - maybe longer…read more Besides that , they have also changed our pool from a chlorine pool to a salt pool and have replaced our pool filter when it needed it. We have developed a very good relationship with this company - Shelly and Rick are always so nice and they are very responsive. Their people always show up when they are supposed to . Whether it's opening or closing our pool, or replacing a filter etc. we have always been happy with all the work or services that they performed.

I would not recommend using Ahner for pool services. We switched to them a couple of years ago…read more because our previous pool service company stopped doing pool closings. Since we have used Ahner, we have had issues with communications. They are difficult to contact and do not call back or respond very promptly. They also have very limited days when they will close the pool - only Friday or Saturday. Those are minor annoyances but this year when we opened our pool (we open it ourselves and had Ahner close it for us the previous September), it looked like a pond with moss like algae over every surface. We immediately sent Ahner pictures and asked for a response. When we finally got in contact with them after multiple attempts and 2 days later, they told us we should have put chemicals in the pool during the winter, that the chemicals would not have made it through to spring and besides that they said we closed it too early (which they did) and opened it too late (it is not even Memorial day yet!). They never told us we should be putting chemicals in midwinter. We have had this pool for many years and have never seen algae this bad - ever! They are not taking responsibility for the error they made nor helping us to clean it other than telling us what to do.

Not only did we get our pool in a ridiculously fast time, the workmanship was top notch, and our pool is beautiful. The owners came to our house and explained the process of how our pool would be built, and even explained to us why one of the options that we thought we had needed (based upon what we were previously told by another pool builder in the Lehigh Valley) could be done in a far greater cost effective manner. (Which by the way, thanks to Mrs. Ahner saved us a bundle). We have recommended Ahner Inground Pools to all of our friends and family and our neighbor's pool will be installed next week (by Ahner Pools of course). Great company, Great Owners, and Great crew...Fantastic Pool...Highly recommend.
