I started with the classic and then tried the strawberry hibiscus option, of which I am still dreaming days later. If you love strawberry and/or hibiscus, definitely put it on your list. I also love the menu concept. They are unapologetically "mexican inspired", vs trying to be authentic (something we struggle mightily with in Seatte). Lots of vegetarian options, appetizers/shareable plates, a highly customizable menu, and some unique takes like fried chicken or bacon/pineapple tacos? Fun! This place has freaking delicious drinks and food, and is small walk away from Gasworks. Their tamarind ginger and strawberry hibiscus margaritas have to be my favorite (my friend really enjoyed the stronger bourbon based drinks). As for the food, the vegetarian nachos are really good, and I love that they offer grilled mushrooms as well as other meats and vegan soyrizo as an option. I went with the mushrooms and the nachos couldn't have been better. Additionally, the kale and mushroom enchiladas had a good combination of red and green sauce. The whole thing definitely ended up being too much for two people, but I would probably go back here for the enchiladas alone. Pablo y pablo is my go-to spot in Fremont for dinner because of the variety in the menu and ease to dine-in or get takeout if it's too busy. Warning: it is NOT authentic Mexican nor is it Tex-Mex. It is it's own style/flavor of Mexican. It's playful and unique, making it super fun to explore different menu items. Some items are more stand-out than others, but if you try enough items, you'll definitely find something so super unique to this spot. If you're in search for something more traditional though, this spot will sadly disappoint because it's not what they do. I've probably tried most things on their menu, and I love and don't like a couple of them. So I can totally see how if you order wrong, you might end up with a poor opinion of this spot. At this point, I usually rotate between the items I love just because they are SO good and satisfying. Items I skip now: * the nachos - they were too heavy on the pickled vegetables for me (I feel they should not be on nachos personally). * pico - their pico is a moderate level of freshness. The idea is the food is spectacular, kind of falls short on the flavor but presentation is definitely there. I went to the one in Wallingford which had pretty poor service for a medium busy day. The food sounded amazing but fell on some concepts. For example the pork belly Benedict was over a toasted English muffin that was quite hard to slice. A mix of three different cultures that didn't land, maybe over a corn tamale would have been better. Also a whole pepper slightly season, not properly grilled didn't deliver really anything. The place is quite loud, it was hard to make a conversation without screaming. We were seated right next to the restroom, which wasn't pleasant either. We asked if we could move and they said no. The only good about this place was the nacho. It was delicious and came in big portion. We all love it! I got Albacore Tuna Taco and Small Pablo Chopped Salad. My taco was delicious, love the touch of pineapple in there. However, my salad was a disappointment. It was too salty that I could not even bother finishing it. This trendy Heavy Restaurant Group restaurant is the spot to be in Wallingford on any night of the week. I visited on a Thursday at 8 p.m. and found the bar packed and a 10-15 minute wait for a party of two. Could this be a sign of a good restaurant? The service to order food and drinks was very slow, but the food came out rather quickly. I tried the nachos with braised beef barbacoa ($19 after the meat addition). The portion size was generous, including the amount of meat that was used. My friend and I also ordered a spiced steak taco and pork belly banh mi taco. Each single taco was $6. Yes, a bit pricey when you're used to less than half that price for traditional tacos, but I'd say these were pretty upscale. Both tacos were delicious, especially the pork belly one. Their house margarita ($10) was also very tasty. It's not the kind of margarita that tastes of pure mix. Overall, a bit on the pricey side (a 20% service charge is included), but I felt the quality was pretty good and enjoyed the somewhat upscale ambiance, as compared to a family Mexican restaurant. read more

Absolutely delicious food! I just popped in on a Sunday morning to the Woodinville location and ordered off the brunch menu To Go since I had a pup with me and it was quite warm already outside. I ordered a tortilla soup and Pablo chop. The flavors were so rich in both the soup and salad! Came here for lunch with some coworkers, it's a newer place so it's clean, tidy and all bright & shiny. It's in Fremont area, so just Google map yourself to this place. For lunch I decided to get the "Taco y Taco Combo". You get to choose any 2 tacos from their taco section.....I got the pork carnitas and the baja fish taco. Comes with your choice of salad, soup or rice & beans. The carnitas was very good, nicely crisped up, not dry. Fish taco was equally as delicious, it is lightly battered & fried. Both tacos were nicely dressed up and I just ate killed it! Medium to small sized tacos but it was tasty. My chicken tortilla soup side was a good kicker to my tacos, wise decision on my part choosing that as my side. Everyone enjoyed their lunch and was a happy camper. Service was good, came to check on us frequently and kindly poured our water for us even when they left the big water bottle at our table. Prices are on the high side for lunch. It got busy there real fast after noon hour hit so be sure to time it just right. They do have vegan/vegetarian options for those that are that. Pablo y Pablo was a great surprise to find! Although it is more of a Mexican fusion restaurant, the flavors are on point! Also their happy hour prices are great! I ordered the fish tacos and the potato and chorizo taco and was not disappointed. The fish taco was crispy and the size was pretty good as well. The potato and chorizo taco reminded me of a breakfast taco so that was a plus. I also ordered the plate of nachos with the seasoned carne asada which is a bit pricey but definitely can feed 2 or 3 so it's was worth it. When we were almost out of chips for our nachos, the waitress asked if we wanted more on the house but we couldn't eat anymore haha! Overall, Pablo y Pablo may be a bit more expensive compared to a taqueria but the flavors and portion sizes make up for it. Definitely can't wait til the next time I come back! read more

-1 star only for the lack of heat in the salsa, which i doubt any restaurant can live up to after being left to my own devices on upping my spice intake homecooking for myself so much the past two years... anyway. their view, the patio and the heat lamps outside are unbeatable if you're looking for an easy, convenient outdoor dining spot north of downtown. the happy hour eats and prices are great. my date and i had the chips and hottest salsa (habanero which was what i'd give a 4/10 heat-wise), queso fondito, some tacos and churros for dessert accompanied by a glass of montenegro amaro. the queso was the biggest winner for me of the non-dessert stuff we got. it was filled with so much extra veggie, and the chips are perfect. for tacos, i had the chipotle chicken and the braised broccoli, which seemed more blanched than braised. it wasn't bad, but wasn't what i was expecting, texture-wise. all good though and the cashew crema was fun. good flavor all around, and they didn't skimp on the fillings at all. mezcal margarita was good, too but let's talk about those churros for a second, because i'll be talking about them until i die. they were transcendent. they made me realize that literally every churro i've ever eaten prior was a lie. a LIE. these are thicc, pillowy goodness that's gooey and soft in the middle and still crispy, crunchy on the outside. and that chocolate sauce? oh my gah. honestly amazing. treat yourself to them. read more

Enjoyed my lunch here! When I came in there was little to no wait for a table both inside or outside. They do require proof of vaccination for indoor dining (first time i've actually gotten to use the card for something yay) I started with the street corn. Flavors were good, corn was nicely crisp on the edge but still tender. Cotija cheese appears to be pre shredded from a bag, I cant imagine you can have that generic of a cheese shape from a block. Was a bit messy to eat, kinda wish it was the whole ear of corn on a stick or something but I still enjoyed. The tacos I had were also pretty good: Spiced steak was flavorful. Topped with a very tasty and smooth sliced avocado. Do wish meat was a bit more tender at $6.50 a taco but oh well. Chipotle braised chicken was also quite good. Lots of filling in this one, chicken was very tender. nice crisp cabbage as a contrasting texture. Not super punchy flavors but a little of the sauce that came with the tacos saved this one. Probably my favorite. And lastly the house made chorizo. Nice crispy cheese on the taco shell, house made chorizo was flavorful. Didnt love the potato aspect of this one, I guess I should have read the description more carefully. I found myself wishing this had the sliced avocado or a different flavor instead but thats just preference. Staff was friendly, restaurant was clean and had nice decor. They really need to add a sign saying where to put your hands for the bathroom faucet to turn on, there was a small line out of the bathroom and I suspect this is why, took many tries to figure it out. All in all pretty good experience, I am being a bit picky on this one but at $5-6.50+ a taco I was definitely hoping for more. read more

Beware of pricing here as it's not clear. I had a party of 2. The food was decent staff was friendly. So we order the barría quesadillas, it's not a quesadilla they are tacos we don't bring it up just eat them. They were decent so I order 1 more so we had 3 orders at $24 each. The drink prices aren't listed just happy hour our waiter recommended doing a double vs a single. Well that's a $23 drink a piece we have 4 total drinks and the bill comes. I don't check it just pay. I leave a $20 tip. I check my account and I was charged $214‼ that's what is known as scammer goals cause for $214 i better get more than 9 tacos and 4 drinks NOT topshelf nor waygu. Don't waste your time or MONEY. This was freaking ridiculous. I could have went to fine dining instead of this OVERPRICED HOLE IN THE WALL. We've been waiting like 10 minutes for a box & they still have the audacity to add a 20% gratuity to my bill? 20% is a lot, and people tip 20% when they actually receive good service and no hair in their food. I will never come back. My waitress was rude and had an attitude and no wonder because she's gonna get a large tip no matter how she acts. I hate when restaurants do that, no incentive to give good service. So update. I was given $50 by their store manager to come back and give it another try and it definitely was better. When I first arrived at the outdoor host stand, my ears were assaulted by the most detestable music being blasted throughout the patio. I use the word 'music' in the loosest sense of the word; what I heard was some type of hateful, discordant rap-style racket in which the vile "N-WORD" was repeatedly recited over and over and over again. How could any establishment in the year 2020 choose this kind of deplorable, hate-filled "music" for its ambiance? I just wanted to pay quick and get the hell out of there. Shame on PYP for its disturbing and dreadful judgment. Who could sit and relax while being forced to listen to such repugnant and abhorrent noise? I'll never come back here. read more

Updating the review here to say that the prices remain high at Pablo Y Pablo but there are a few ways to ensure you're still getting a good deal! One is their happy hour which is currently M-F 4 - 5:30pm and Sat-Sun 3 - 5:30pm. Weekend happy hours are less common around Seattle so this has been great to visit! Second tip is NACHOS. Their nachos easily serve two people and the meat prices are still a bit much to add protein, but they definitely give you a great portion. Finally, to cut alcohol cost I tried their mocktails and while it's hard to be there without one of their margaritas in hand, I was really impressed with their pina granada! read more

Another great restaurant by Heavy Restaurant Group. Tacos galore with a modern twist. The interior is industrial and casual. Cast iron chairs and wood all over with tables that are conducive to intimate dates and catch up with friends. Of course like other HRG restaurants our table wobbled. Our server Alexys was great. Her outfit matched the atmosphere and she was very helpful without ever interrupting our conversation. The happy hour represents a large part of the menu but the prices are only a dollar off regular price menus per taco. Now to the food! The tacos had huge chunks of ingredients which I loved! The bacon and pineapple taco was sweet and savory and super juicy. The braised chicken tacos were tender and succulent. And the bahn mi taco was my favorite. It had this aioli that kinda surprised me but the large chunk of pork belly with the sauce was awesome. The corn was a cool display and had great flavor but they shave one side of the corn so it lays flat and my heart dropped a little to see that. This was a fun stop. I was here mid morning and though I was a bit concerned if I needed reservations or if there was going to be a long wait I actually got seated right away which was great. The food at Pablo Y Pablo was very enjoyable and the ingredients were fresh. Service was top notch the whole time I was there and the wait staff was very friendly and east to deal with. On their brunch menu I got their delicious Breakfast Burrito which contained cheesy eggs, potatoes, guacamole, cascabel salsa, roasted peppers and onions. This tasty little meal was satisfying and very enjoyable. Beautiful windows let in plenty of light to this spectacularly designed restaurant on the backside of Tableau. Parking out front is next to impossible, but around back and on the streets leading down to the water I saw spots (as I was hiking back up to the entrance.) My friend and I came here for restaurant week after being told at the other spot we wanted to try that the earliest seating would be at 8:45. This was the best decision! We were seated right away and enjoyed our drinks before our three course meal began. I chose the chop salad (great textures albeit a bit too much dressing - I'd ask for it on the side in the future), the halibut (cooked perfectly and delicately seasoned, the greens were a bit brambly and the artichoke was a little bit strong of a taste in contrast to the fish), and the vegan horchata ice cream (on point!) My friend had the avocado ceviche (which I got to taste and LOVED!) I didn't try the carnitas as a pescatarian, but I did share the tres leches dessert she ordered and it was delightful! I can't wait to come back here to try one of their mouthwatering taco options as well as other beverages. Great service, nice ambiance, and decent accoustics.
