This is the 3rd time I have used Piece of Cake. They completed my move from lower Manhattan to…read moreCenter City Philadelphia this past week. They had seamlessly loaded the contents of my 650 square foot apartment including large/heavy fragile furniture with glass (8 foot tall dresser with mirror weighing 250 lbs, and 50 galloon reptile tank) in about 1 hour. We promptly left via car to meet them at our new address in Philly, and they arrived at exactly the same time as we did. They unloaded the truck in about an hour again, and helped partially unpack and put items in the proper places, especially the furniture that would have been hard for me to move on my own later. I will continue to use Piece of Cake, and have recommended to several friends over the years that I have been using them. It was quick working with the customer support team initially to quote the move, make payment, and on COIs and confirmation. When we move again in a couple years Piece of Cake will be the only mover I call. My recommendation to others considering the service, be transparent and honest about the contents of your move, especially items requiring extra protection even if there is an additional fee involved. There were no surprise add-ons in my move because we carefully selected every single item that would be included in our move early on in the process, and made sure to reply in detail to the follow up emails regarding insurance, access to the apartments (stairs vs elevator, reserved elevator, etc.), and so on move-in day everything went off without a hitch. Piece of Cake are professionals and we love the service.

I want to post an update to my prior review…read more As bad as the moving experience was, Piece of Cake Movers completely changed my view when it came time to address the issues I raised afterward. Emily handled my concerns with professionalism, fairness, and real diligence. She could not have been nicer. She listened, took the issues seriously, and worked through them in a way that felt fair and respectful. My original concerns about the move itself remain what they were. But I also recognize that any business of this size can occasionally have a bad crew or a bad experience in the field. What matters is how the company responds when that happens. Here, the response after the move was excellent. Credit is due where credit is due: the post-move customer service, especially from Emily, was outstanding. For that reason, I am giving the company 5 stars for how it handled the aftermath and resolved the issues. I will use them the next time I move. Emily was that good. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Thank you, Emily.

DO NOT HIRE GREAT MOVERS -- UNPROFESSIONAL, CARELESS, AND DISHONEST…read more On October 30, 2025, I hired Great Movers to remove and store heavy items from my property. Three movers arrived, led by a foreman named Steve. They were instructed to place the sofa and love seat in a designated dumpster area. During the move, the team used our bathroom while working in the bedroom. Shortly after they left, my daughter arrived home and immediately realized that her gold, diamond, and pink sapphire necklace -- a deeply sentimental graduation gift she'd worn almost daily for three years -- was missing. It had been safely in the bedroom that morning, and she hadn't worn it that day due to her outfit choice. We searched thoroughly. It was gone. I texted Steve immediately and asked for his manager's contact information. When he called back, I explained what happened. His first response was dismissive: "Great Movers isn't responsible for stolen items." No empathy, no concern, no sense of accountability. Over the next three days, I called the company multiple times and left messages for management (Saad or anyone in charge) -- not a single call was returned. Zero acknowledgment. As if that wasn't enough, I then received a call from building management saying the movers had dumped my furniture next to a pizza shop's dumpster, upsetting the business owner. I had clearly told them to place the items inside the designated dumpster area. When I called again, the dispatcher promised to contact Steve. Steve later claimed I "never said anything" about a designated area -- an outright lie. He finally returned to move the furniture to the proper spot, but even then, he set it next to the dumpster until I told him to put it inside. When I again brought up the stolen necklace, he was cold, sarcastic, and emotionless. I told him I would be filing a police report and that if the necklace was returned, there would be no questions asked. His only reply was to ask "where it was located." It is now November 5, and I have still received no response from Great Movers management. This experience has been deeply upsetting, not only because of the stolen jewelry and unprofessional conduct, but also because of the company's complete lack of integrity, accountability, and compassion. My advice: DO NOT USE GREAT MOVERS. If you value your belongings -- and basic human decency -- find another moving company. Great Movers = Great Disappointment.

I can personally attest to a positive experience with my move from Los Angeles, CA to Italy. Nathan was a wonderful help on the US side. Incredibly communicative and attentive. The Schumacher team is also the only one of all of the companies I inquired with that came to do an in person survey. I felt they were very informative about the process and transparent, answering all of my questions and really making sure I felt confident. The team that came out and packed up our things were nothing short of professional. We had been given a general timeline on when to expect our things and had regular contact and updates as our things were set to arrive and go through customs here in Italy. The whole process was incredibly smooth. They provided me with realistic expectations all the way through, and especially with any possible end-of-journey costs that could come up so I was able to be prepared. Everything arrived safe and sound, with no damage and nothing broken. The team who delivered our things worked quickly and had everything delivered to our home by early afternoon! If life every takes me overseas again I will absolutely be turning back to Schumacher after this positive experience!

Absolute nightmare experience. Avoid the Los Angeles branch at all costs!…read more I was originally quoted $5,630 to ship two cars in a single container from Arizona to Germany, starting December 19th. The plan was to route them through Houston, Texas. Instead, without my permission, Schumacher shipped them to Los Angeles. When I demanded answers, they claimed a salvage title meant the car couldn't ship from Texas--a claim I highly doubt. This unauthorized rerouting caused massive delays and endless hidden fees. While in LA, they held my cars hostage until I paid an unexpected $7,765 for an "extra customs checkup." It took over five full months just to get the cars to Europe. Once in Germany, Schumacher tacked on another surprise fee of $3,931.40 just to release the vehicles, completely ignoring their original quote of around $520 per car. To make matters worse, their German destination partner, SATS Group GmbH, was completely unprofessional, clueless, and a nightmare to deal with. They tried to force an absurd, double-taxation customs scheme on me regarding my final delivery to Bulgaria. I paid triple what I was originally quoted, suffered through a 5+ month delay, and dealt with shocking unprofessionalism. I will never use Schumacher Cargo Logistics again, especially the Los Angeles branch. Be warned!

I got my initial date range to receive my things at my destination in NC and moved it to an earlier date, so I'd have my furniture before Christmas. The day of my move, the movers were three hours late. I finally got to my destination and figured that I'd get settled in and my things would get here soon after. A lot of people were asking when my things would get here, and I noticed that no one contacted me. I reached out via email to find out that the truck carrying my things broke down. The driver was waiting to find out what la wrong, and everything I own is sitting somewhere stationary. There will not be a different truck going to get my things. I don't know how long it would have taken them to even let me know this was going on had I not called. So is another truck bringing my things to meet the agreed timeline? No. Will I have my furniture by Christmas? No, and I will probably ring in the new year with no furniture. Did they give me an updated estimate on when my things will arrive? No. What did they tell me? There's nothing they can do, and gave me the pleasure of knowing that'll I'll still be paying full price for the move and have to submit claims to see if I can get any money refunded. Allied really needs to choose better moving companies. Reliable is an ironic name. Please do yourself the favor of declining and choosing someone else.

My most recent move went without a hitch on the actual day, until the very same night when I realized they threw away ALL of my blankets and bedsheets into the TRASH. When I could not locate the missing blankets, I called the movers who were adamant that everything on the truck had been unloaded. I drove back to my old apartment TWICE and was still unable to locate the missing blankets until I checked the DUMPSTER, which is where they were. I had specifically requested that certain bag of soft blankets and bedsheets to be loaded onto the truck. They left All Trash in my apartment and instead trashed the very bag I specifically requested to be loaded. I had to dash to Walmart at 9:45PM to have bedding to sleep on. I took a 3rd walkthrough of my new apartment and the old apartment and I am also missing my tools. I am a single woman with a certain amount of tools to get by with small projects. Yet, ALL of my tools except for a Hammer are missing. Noting these things that were missing, I reached out to the manager, ALLEN, who assured me he would investigate what happened and would be calling me back. It has been 5 days with silence and no answers. Had I known my move would've ended with missing tools and trashed blankets, I would've gone with the other company. I am absolutely disgusted with this company and its lack of response. Would not be surprised if I were to continue to realize additional items missing.

All three were young, but very composed and clearly experienced (definitely learned a lot of moving hacks from them). Emil handled disassembling and reassembling our king‑size bed frame and crib effortlessly (something our last movers really struggled with), and the team even came the day before to help pack about half our boxes so that moving day would go quickly. They worked fast, stayed organized, and took great care with everything. At our new apartment, they navigated two separate elevators with ease and got every piece of furniture right where it needed to go. And the cherry on top--they even made sure the loose dollar bills my wife had lying around were safely packed into our boxes! That level of honesty and attention to detail really stood out. Couldn't recommend Perfect Moving Co. more highly. They turned what could have been a stressful move into a genuinely positive experience.
