While the boys were efficient and did a great job... but at the end of the service when I tipped them, he had the audacity to say "can you give us more? we did a lot of work for you." I threw more money down. In retrospect, I shouldn't have. They moved a one bedroom apartment, with one person's belongings. Not a two bedroom. Not a home. And on top of that I even transported some of my belongings myself. I tipped them just as I've tipped other movers in the past. It's already expensive to move, and someone who works in the gig industry myself, it was extremely unprofessional for him to say that. I had a very negative experience with Greenline moving Company Woodbridge NJ after trying to reach the owner never responded to any calls. The works were very careless and lost the knobs of my dresser. A very costly dresser. They also after unpacking they just literally threw all clitching and other household items haphazardly into boxes. If I had to sum up my family's experience with Green Line Moving in one word, I would choose the word "Incredible ". I highly recommend them, and I will undoubtedly use them again, once we find our Forever Home. Their price was neither the cheapest nor the most expensive, but their crew fulfilled everything that we needed with efficiency and in a very professional manner. That said, the service that they provided was worth every penny. I'd like to note a couple specific things that stood out to me during our move. The first is that we own a few pieces of wood and glass furniture that I had come to accept would inevitably be dinged up that day. That didn't happen. The moving crew of three very able-bodied guys wrapped our furniture in moving blankets and tight plastic before loading it out of our apartment and into the large box truck that they had brought. The second thing is that when we arrived at our new house, the headboard to our king-sized bed did not fit up the stairway. I immediately assumed we'd have to abandon it to the trash, but that didn't happen, either. The lead guy showed us how the fabric pulls back to exposed hidden screws that we never would have even known to look for. The crew quickly disassembled the headboard, got the pieces upstairs, and reassembled the entire bed. Overall the process was quick, easy, and transparent. In the initial call to them, we discussed a list of items that we needed to have them move, which I would recommend having ready for when you make the call. The gentleman whom we spoke to, named Alex, sent us an email containing the list of items along with the total cost. We reviewed the list, provided a $100 deposit, and we were all set. The crew arrived about 20 minutes early on the moving date. Everything from our two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment was protected and loaded onto the truck within about an hour and a half, we made the short drive to the new place, and everything was unloaded and items were placed in their specific rooms relatively quickly. All told, the entire operation took about four hours from start to finish. This move went WAY, WAY BETTER than I had imagined it was going to. I rarely write Yelp reviews, but I felt compelled to leave something for this company, because they absolutely deserve some praise for helping so much with something that would have otherwise caused a lot of stress. Just want to be clear - this review has nothing to do with an actual move. I'll be steering clear of these scammers when I choose a company. Requested a quote for a move from Hillsborough to Flemington. A quick 20-25 minute drive. Don't have much furniture, maybe 7-8 boxes of belongings, and a bookshelf, bed, and dresser. The quote came over for 3 hours of work at $128/hr plus a $45 stair charge. I called back, asking why they quoted that but the price didn't align, to which they said they add a 1.5 hour travel time charge as well at the same rate. Their *MINIMUM* charge is going to be 4.5 hours (1.5 travel + 3 labor), regardless of what is being moved, or $576. Want to pay by card in a cashless world? Extra 5%. So, for a 30 minute drive, plus maybe 90 minutes of actual work, I'm going to get charged 2.5 extra hours of labor that doesn't happen, AND they have the gall to then suggest a 20% tip? Yeah, I'll take my business elsewhere. If you're not making a large move, or a long move, stay far away from these scammers. read more

We had a local move within South Orange, NJ on 02/25/2018. Alex came to our house and gave us a flat rate quote after examining the furniture. Ikhrom, our assigned supervisor, and his team of 3 showed up on time, and made Moving Day as regular as any other day - which is a fantastic feat. They were careful and patient yet worked quickly, and listened to our feedback on items which were critical. They were polite and respectful, and really did a superlative job on the day, tiding easily over the mini hiccups that are bound to happen (such as a locked elevator). Our past move experiences were subpar to plain traumatizing, and we were apprehensive about this one. But these guys made it so effortless, that we literally sat back and relaxed. Recently I had to move from one house to another. I opted to use their service. And I am quite happy with how it went. First me and Alex had extensive conversation clearing most small but very important details, which I was not aware of. He gave me couple of advices ,how to prepare my staff. And than his team. I was stressed a bit initially, but they showed up and somehow it went smooth. Staff was packed,wrapped and was loaded into their tuck. Furniture and sofas was properly handled. I moved recently about 20 minutes away from where I was previously. I've used other moving company's in the past that had come to the house very late- took way too long to move, broke or damaged my things and even had things missing afterwards so I was stressed that inevitably this would happen again. This company exceeded all my expectations and did such an awesome job. These movers were quick and efficient. The stairwell in my new apartment was really narrow but they were able to get everything up the stairs with ease and even removed the door hinge to make more room. I moved with these guys 2 months ago. I moved across the country and wasn't compelled or paid to give this review and I don't give reviews often, especially not positive ones. I was able to schedule a move with them at the last second. They gave me a fair price, they worked diligently through the move, they packed the truck excellently, and even added a strap to secure my mattress that they said I could just KEEP. They helped me disassemble my couch that we previously didn't talk about. They were accommodating of the fact that I wasn't even fully packed and helped tape and box things up. I could easily have seen another company complaining about this but they worked with me. 2 months later and I still haven't fully unpacked, but everything was safe, and nothing was damaged in the process. I only wish I could have used them to unpack. Would absolutely 100% definitely recommend. read more

My partner and I moved from Hoboken, NJ to Manhattan. We couldn't have done it without Green Line! They answered all of our questions in advanced, offered us a very reasonable flat rate for the move, and included the Certificate of Insurance for free. They didn't quibble about items I had neglected to mention ahead--it's impossible to name *every* item before you've packed it, and they understood that. On the day of the move, they came at 9 a.m. instead of 8 a.m., but that was good news because we weren't ready until then. They rolled with the punches, making do when an illegally parked car blocked their van from parking in front of our apartment, and taking off doors from big furniture to maneuver it down our old building's windy staircase. We did have to be very specific with our instructions for the more difficult items. They were fast, efficient, and friendly, and their rate was far less than other quotes we received. The flat rate meant that we didn't have to worry about exactly how long things would take, and we really appreciated it because it took longer than the estimates from other movers without flat rates. I called GLMC in a panic because the company we originally booked showed up 10 hours late and decided we had to much stuff so they walked off the job. GLMC answered the phone at 8pm on Saturday night of Labor Day Weekend. He accepted my previous quote and said his guys would be there Sunday morning between noon and 1. I asked him out of desperation to please come as early as possible. He said he would do his best. Boris called me at 10am to tell me his guys would be at the house at 11. They called me at 11 to tell me they were 5 minutes away (very courteous!) We have a dangerously steep driveway and the moving truck couldn't make it up, so they diligently parked at the bottom and carted everything down. I offered the keys to the pickup truck so they could expedite the process. They carefully wrapped every piece of furniture and safely moved everything we asked them to. Once we arrived at our next destination they were wonderful and asking where we wanted things and how we wanted them. They were clean, fast, efficient and wildly affordable. I wish I called this moving company first, I made the mistake of using two men and a truck out of Livingston. That company only took half of our stuff, took 9 hours and charged us $2350. I called Green line the day after, they gave us an estimate of 4 to 6 hours, final cost $600. As soon as they arrived they started working, they are fast and very efficient. I was very happy with the company, they took all of our boxes and anything loose around the house. Best movers I've ever used in my life. Bob and his team are simple excellent I have used them 4 times in past 8 years that I have stayed in NY and NJ area. They have fixed my bed in first instance for fee of charge (it was broken before they even came) they saw a bed and asked about it and volunteered to fix it and now we use the same to sleep past 6 years. These guys are wonderful human beings Bob himself is educated with Bachelors in Business management from Malaysia and is working on his Masters still loves to get this done on the side. He is an excellent manager with great customer focused attitude. I wish I moved every year and wish I met them every year :-). Trust me they are so very good guys they never ask for any tip or any extra they are bunch of kids who are happy with what ever you offer them as per agreed quote they are very quick and efficient. After searching and searching for a moving company that was within our budget and that we could trust, we decided on Green Line movers and I have no reservations saying we made the right choice! We were quoted a great price, one I thought made sense for our 1-bedroom apartment's worth of stuff (after getting quotes that seemed more a price for moving to another state!) We agreed on 3 pm on Saturday. They called to update me that they were 10 minutes late. Then they showed up and, even in the rain, got everything out in an hour and a half. Everything was taken apart securely, wrapped, and secured in the truck. They were able to figure out how to get everything out, and everything in. They tried even with things we weren't so sure of (like getting a couch into a room with a somewhat small door). I never felt worried using Green Line Movers, and I'm so happy we came across this group and chose them. We even changed our mind with the layout of the living room after they had already put the rug/couch down and they rearranged it for us! Very efficient and would HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Excellent moving company! I've moved every year for the past 6 years (ugh), so I've had a lot of experience with many different moving companies. Green Line is one of the best that I've hired. The details of our move: Previous apartment: 3rd floor (no elevator) 3 bedroom apartment (approx 1500 square feet) - fully furnished plus about 100 boxes. New apartment: 3rd floor (with elevator) 3 bedroom apartment, with loft space and narrow stairs. Most of our heavy boxes (books) went up into the loft space, plus large furniture (multiple large bookshelves, desks, sofa, TV console). Our most recent move was from Piscataway, NJ (Rutgers area) to South Orange, NJ (about 45 mins north). I requested a quote from Green Line through their website in the evening and received an e-mail the next morning. The price was reasonable and the e-mail had all of the details for the move (what they would bring, what I was expected to provide, what the standard insurance policy is, etc.). I dealt with Alex via e-mail and phone and he was really helpful. While packing up my old place, I realized that I would have more boxes than I originally stated in my quote and I e-mailed to let Alex know. He said it wouldn't be a problem and also gave me details on how much any extra time would cost. Everything was very upfront and they were very flexible. On the day of the move, four guys showed up at 8:30am with all of the paperwork for us to sign. They worked hard and didn't really take any breaks, which was impressive since we were on the 3rd floor and it was a warm day. I was expecting to pay over the original quote, as I had extra boxes. In the end, the move took exactly how much time they quoted me, which was an unexpected bonus. The guys packed all of the items very carefully, using blankets, plastic wrap, and tape. Nothing was damaged and they placed everything exactly where we wanted it, and were very careful not to damage wood floors by dragging heavy items around. Total time of move was 5.5 hours. We did have furniture broken down for them ahead of time to speed up the process and had also moved all of the boxes right next to the front door for easier loading. I'm pretty sure they will break down your furniture for you if you don't know how or don't want to do it yourself, but it might add some time to your move. A couple hours after the move, Alex called to follow up and make sure everything was done to our liking, which just shows how serious they are about great customer service.
