I called about a month ago to inquire about having Adonis move me again. Yes, I said again! I first hired Adonis ~6 years ago as he and his team came highly recommended. So naturally, since it's time to move again - I of course would look no further. Adonis and his team of 4 came to move me from my studio apartment in Stuy-Town/Gramercy area to the UES this morning. AND DAMN, THEY'VE STILL GOT IT! I couldn't believe how fast and efficient his team was. I often hear horror stories about movers taking such a long time or not showing up on time/being late and I just can't express how efficient him and the team were. I have a very large pain in the ass mirror I needed to move and they were kind enough to help me take it off the wall (not in their job description, they did it just to be nice) and wrap it with a quilt. As per usual, all went smoothly & nothing is broken or damaged. They moved me SO FAST I couldn't believe it but I actually showed up to meet them at my new apartment AFTER they did! Adonis is the real deal and we can't recommend him enough!!! Moving (especially in NYC) is brutal, but these guys made it a smooth and painless experience. My fiancée and I decided to leave Brooklyn to be closer to family as this virus showed no signs of giving up and our jobs allowed us to continue working remotely. We only had one weekend available to pack up and move out of our apartment and move into our new place in Buffalo. Adonis made what we thought would be an incredibly difficult move a complete delight. Prior to my move, I paid a 50% deposit via Venmo and he let me know that the deposit goes to a good cause since he also does moves for domestic violence survivors and foster kids. I've never hired a mover before; in the past; whenever I moved, I just did the move myself with bringing stuff over via suitcases or rolling carts. And then for my bed, I'd disassemble it, tie it up, and find a friend to help me move the big stuff / heavy stuff via car. But after living in NYC for almost 5 years, I've accumulated too much stuff to move by myself. I was nervous but Adonis answered all my questions quickly and even provided packing advice prior to the move. So the last time I submitted a review it was July of 2015! I'm back again to talk about Adonis and his amazing team. This time around, was by far different (a good different) with the movers. Adonis arrived at 9:36am, roughly 25-30 minutes early! I should have known that he would from the last time. It took the movers roughly 4 hours including cleaning! One thing I admire about Adonis is that he's personable. Often times you stumble across businesses where the people working for the business do not like to socialize however Adonis does the opposite. Caused **expensive damage** and refused to pay for any of it despite proof they caused the damage and multiple requests to settle the matter. They repeatedly dropped many of our things as they were loading/unloading the truck (damaging our things), their truck left permanent damage to our new home, and they stained the light wood floors of our new home black in places. (They packed us, and used cheap garbage bags for things they shouldn't have.) Adonis was amazingly rude throughout the process and said all of this was our fault - "we should have explained we didn't want our floors stained." Come on!?!? I moved from Brooklyn to the UWS, and these guys were phenomenal. Adonis utilizes a third party for the Certificate of Insurance and provides you a list of information that they require. You gather the info, send it off, and one day later you the Certificate of Insurance arrives in your inbox. I was also able to pay via Venmo, credit card, or cash. He also sends a Google calendar invite and e-mails packing tips. Adonis arrived early, we got the truck packed without issue, and they were able to easily navigate issues at my new place (aka, a really small elevator that didn't like to level out). Adonis navigates the street of NYC so smoothly and manages to find decent parking for such a large truck. He's a very amiable guy, and I had a great time chatting with him! This guy knows a thing or two about how to get from point A to point B. What is normally a dreaded and exhausting day was quick, painless and hassle free. Let's rewind to the weeks leading up to the move. Adonis was extremely consultative and responsive to my emails, making sure to address any and all questions that came up. He gave me a very detailed breakdown of the cost -- no rip offs here. I knew exactly what I would be paying for. Over are the days of anxiously waiting for a moving truck that is two hours late. When him and the moving crew are on their way you'll receive a link to open up an app called Glimpse. Through glimpse you can track where the truck is, hoo-rah for technology! Adonis and his two helpers had me in and out of my apartment in NYC and comfortably moved in to my new Jersey City abode in about 90 minutes. It takes me longer to pick out my outfit sometimes in the morning! My movers cancelled on me one day prior to the move. I was calling everyone trying to get help. Lucky for me someone cancelled on Adonis ten minutes prior to my call. His team is very good and easy going. He is extremely responsive, they got to me early and texted me a cool link letting me know where they were on the road. About the move. I'm not going to lie. ..it was long and hard because I moved from a six floor walk up. He got there with a team of 5. I was supposed to have a sixth person (friend of the family which cancelled on me the day of) and I informed Adonis and we reworked the money. The job took many hours because of the flights and due to the timing and being rushed by the trucking company I helped with the bringing things down the stairs and to the truck... The team was tired and they stayed there until the truck was closed. I did see them work tired and saw the tiredness get the best of some of them... and I do understand why. I paid them more than the agreed price because I felt that it was well deserved. I didn't realize how much work this would take due to the stairs... Adonis and his crew were AMAZING!! I was moving from a studio in Jersey City to a two bedroom apartment in UWS, and contacted Adonis about 3 weeks prior to the move. The morning on my move, Adonis arrived exactly at 10 am and brought a 5 person crew! My move was fairly easy - from an elevator building in NJ to another elevator building in NYC - but he and his team completed the move in record time. They were done in about 2 1/2 hours - from arriving to my building at 10 am in JC to walking out to door of my UWS apartment at 12:30 pm. It was amazing. They even gave me a ride in their truck! His team can also assist with assembling your bed for an additional $50 - which is super reasonable.
