Guillermo said he'd be here in twenty minutes. An hour after the scheduled time, he pulled up in front of the house. Within a couple minutes of parking, he called and said: "I don't think I'm the right fit for this job." He hadn't even entered the house or looked at the project. Not sure why he bothered to drive the 25 minutes to not even look at it give a final price on the job. Is it because I'm an Anglo and not Hispanic. If so...seems petty and racist. Had I known before, I would have tried to give business. After reviewing your response, I went back and checked the security camera. You were clearly on your phone...not "unloading levels and measuring equipment." You were also blocking the driveway. My wife's request that you not block the driveway was reasonable. Your response to that request feels like an overreaction. Regardless, I agree that your company is clearly not the one I should work with. I'm sure other potential customers would feel the same. Your actions and words do not support your statement that you "treat every customer equally." I don't feel treated equally. I feel discriminated against.

The carriage-style wooden doors on my mother's house finally wore out after 100 years. Being a serious hobbyist woodworker, I spent months building her a pair of solid-wood, custom, replacement doors. When it came time to install them, the DIY part of me was tempted to try installing them myself, but these things weighed 170lbs each so I was worried about wrangling such heavy doors while screwing in the hinges. I decided to hire professionals (best decision ever). I was referred to Alberto and Esteban by a local company that makes custom doors/windows. Alberto replied quickly, provided a competitive bid, and gave me valuable advice about the best hinges for the job. As others have mentioned he and Esteban showed up early on the day of installation. Watching them work, their experience and knowledge was evident in everything they did. They had all of the right tools to replace some of the wood in the door jamb that had dry rot and they knew which parts of the doors needed just a fraction of adjustment in order to fit and operate perfectly. They finished in half a day and the result is beyond perfect. For someone who obsessed about millimeter accuracy while building these doors, their installation met and exceeded all of my expectations. This is a little odd to say up front with a 5 star review, but we didn't end up having our windows…read moredone by Bestoff. We took over a half-dozen bids for a to-the-studs siding teardown and Hardie board replacement, using the opportunity to replace 21 old single pane windows and two sliding doors with new construction windows & doors. Of everyone we talked to, Sergey was hands down my favorite. If we were just doing with windows, we absolutely would have gone with Bestoff. The only reason we didn't go with Bestoff was out of their control: we ended up going with a singke business that does both siding and windows rather than splitting the work over two contractors. With that out of the way, here's why I liked Sergey so much: He's real. He's not a salesperson. He listens to understand what you want, but he takes pride in his work and he has a perspective (that he'll share with you) on what to do with your windows to bring out the best in your home. Most folks who came out just asked us if we wanted to keep our sliders in the same configuration. Sergey was the only one who went through each room, truly thought about the air flow and the aesthetics, and provided recommendations on each configuration. He acknowledged it was free advice, and it was -- we're going to follow his recommendations because they make sense, even though we never would have considered them before (and nobody else suggested them). And because Sergey takes pride in the outcome of his work, and not on his upsells, he never pressured me into any unnecessary frills. In fact, any time I considered a "premium" upgrade option, Sergey talked me down and explained why I didn't need it. For example, my head started spinning over energy efficiency and fire protection. I was debating SunMatrix/Quadratherm it's SunShield/Quadratherm for our south and west windows. Sergey was the only bidder to really take me through the pros and cons and ultimately make the case that, for this project, I shouldn't bother. Similarly, I emailed about WUI-compliant tempered gas after I realized I'm only 3 houses away from a high fire danger zone. I waited to know if it was worth getting the WUI glass. Sergey was the only bidder to go over the pros and cons in detail and explain why it would be an unnecessary expense for us. When when I let Sergey know we chose to go with a combined siding/windows contractor, he gave us even more advice on things to look out for to protect ourselves. If you're looking to do a substantial window project, give Sergey a call. I'm trying to manage my deep regret at not getting to work with Sergey. I'll feel a little better if I can imagine playing even a small part in another family getting to work with him
