Good, not great, for this near-beachfront hotel in Pacifica. We stayed here during the World Dog…read moreSurfing Contest, and it's just a brisk walk to Linda Mar Beach, where the event happens. The staff was friendly, and check-in was easy. The room was decent-sized, but still kind of basic. We had a fridge and a microwave, but no safe. We got a handicapped room, not sure why, but the balcony made it nice. The shower had super low water pressure. The remote blinds barely worked with the controller and the "fake view" on the roller shade was kind of comical. Unfortunately, the closet furniture required brute force to slide open or close the door. We took advantage of the free breakfast both days, and the menu was exactly the same each day. The eggs were pretty good, and the sausage was not bad either. It would have been nice if they had a bit more fruit selection; they just had bananas. Our flight home was delayed going back, so I asked for a later checkout (even just an hour), but they said no. I thought that was one of the "perks" of my Bonvoy status, but I guess not. Since it was a Sunday, I thought they could have let us stay one more hour. They did hold our luggage for us and seemed very surprised when I tipped the clerk at pickup. At 10:59 am precisely, "Housekeeping" was knocking on our door, seeing when we were going to leave. Close by the "Shore Shack" is a friendly little diner with decent food. Oh, and one important note --- T-Mobile has virtually NO signal inside this hotel. Your phone will be on SOS the whole time. Luckily, their Internet wifi worked pretty well, but I hate using unsecured networks. We'll be back for this event in the future, but given the cost, I'm going to look into other hotel options in the area as well. It wasn't a bad experience, but it's definitely not a 5-star experience.

The wallpaper is peeling in spots but overall a basic room with thin walls. It is very noisy and you hear every door slam due to the open "lobby" area in the middle. If there are people out there, you can hear everything they are saying. I'm a dedicated Lifetime Elite but got the room that faces PCH (maybe 50ft from the highway). Spent all night listening to the cars, trucks, motorcycles pass by. Cell coverage: there isn't any! Had to use my WiFi to make phone calls! Parking: $15 I don't think I would stay here again.

I really wanted to like this hotel because the location is beautiful, but unfortunately the…read moreproperty itself was a huge disappointment and absolutely not worth the $300/night I paid. The good: Being right by the ocean is wonderful, and I loved being able to walk along the coastal trail into more central Pacifica. The views from the trail are beautiful. And the guy at the front desk who eventually arrived to help the woman who was alone manning the desk at check-in was polite and friendly. Unfortunately, that's where the positives ended. Check-in took more than 15+ minutes, and my room key randomly stopped working, requiring me to go back to the front desk for new keys. The Wi-Fi wasn't working. The TV/cable didn't work. The pool was closed. The room itself felt old and poorly maintained. There were stains on the chairs, the pillows felt like a single thin layer of foam and even the drinking cups were plastic. I paid for an ocean-view room, but a large restaurant sits between the hotel and the water, blocking a significant portion of the view. Even worse, the smell of fried food from the restaurant drifted toward my room until around 2 a.m. I don't need a hotel to be fancy, but I do expect it to be clean, comfortable and well maintained, especially at this price point. Between the condition of the room, multiple things not working and the closed pool, this was nowhere near a $300/night experience. Pacifica itself was lovely but I would stay somewhere else.

The rooms aren't oceanfront, because there's a road in front of it and trees blocking most of the view. There was a refrigerator in the room, plenty of towels, and a really comfortable bed. An honest review: I…read morestayed here for 1 night, on a quick trip. There are both pros and cons to the inn. Overall it was a good stay but I do feel that their website is a bit misleading. To start off with the positives; the location is nice, the woman at the front desk was pleasant, the room was very clean, spacious, tons of closet and dresser space. The mini fridge and keurig were nice to have. As was the wall mounted electric fireplace (just for ambiance). Now for the "just okay" stuff, the tv has dish but that's it. There was no way to connect to any apps or options besides basic dish. The WiFi was a bit spotty. The parking lot is tight and small. The bed was mostly comfortable but the mattress is definitely on the thin side. The mini fridge rattled every 30 mins or so. The building is old so the walls and doors definitely look worn down. All of which were not huge deals to me. Now, on to the cons. This is where I find the website to be misleading. First the ocean views may be visible from the top floor, most expensive rooms, however my view from a bottom level king suite, was the construction site next door, the highway, and a peek-a-boo view of the ocean from a break in the trees across the highway. I also had no sliding door or any outside space other than the shared decks in front of the inn. There is also no restaurant or food/drink available to order. However, the worst part (in my opinion), is the noise! I could hear every step taken above me, every time someone scooted a chair, turned on a shower, etc... I could also hear very clearly everything happening outside my room. To the point of worrying that the tv in my room would be too loud for the other guests. If I was to stay again, I would definitely request a room on the second floor. Overall I would say it's a decent inn and a good option if you're needing a quick overnight stay. A bit overpriced but I feel that tends to be anywhere close to the ocean. If you're looking for something fancy or newer with more updated amenities, I would go elsewhere.

They offered complementary wine in the evening and breakfast in the morning. Their breakfast was provided by nearby bakeries which was really nice to support/highlight local businesses! The hotel was clean, quiet, and staff were all very friendly. Even the interactions that we witnessed were all very helpful and pleasant. This hotel is walking distance to a few restaurants by utilizing the walking path along the water. The only negative about our stay was the temperature in the room. It was very warm (even in March) and since there is no air conditioning we were forced to keep the back door open and bugs were coming in from the crack of the screen door. Otherwise very pleasant stay and we'd come back.

Daily breakfast is included with your stay. The breakfast consists of pastries, bagels/ cream cheese, yogurt, oatmeal and hard-boiled eggs. They also offer gluten-free bread and pastry options, which I appreciate. Coffee, tea and juices included. There is no hot food. One thing to point out is the rooms do not have air-conditioning. This typically isn't an issue because half Moon Bay runs cooler and comfortable temperatures for most of the year but my husband and I do prefer a colder room at night time so we slept with the door open. There was no ceiling fan, but they do have a couple of portable fans stored in the closets for use. Shower in our room had low water pressure, so not great for those with longhair. The hotel is right next-door to Sam's chowder House so easy walk. Beach access-there is a beautiful walking path right downstairs, which you can access from the hotel. The only thing between the walking path and the ocean is some rocks. I was told by a local that the water directly in front of the hotel is not swimmable but there is beach access with some water about 5 minute walk down the path. The path is smooth so easy for strollers, bikes or other means.
