Lady at the front desk was very, very friendly. Lobby and room were updated, clean, and fresh. Bed was very comfortable! Nice smelling shampoo and conditioner in the shower. Overall very relaxing environment with a nice pub in the same parking lot. Only recommended improvements: 1) Blackout curtains- plantation shutters were nice, but the parking lot lights go through them (as seen in photo). Wasn't glaring, but only a problem if you don't enjoy having a nightlight on a third of your wall illuminated all night. 2) Breakfast- no waffle maker for Friday morning. And no fresh orange juice maker (as shown on their online pictures. We were pretty disappointed) Had bottled orange juice. 3) Breakfast- only put out a few breakfast sandwiches at a time, but didn't have to wait long for the next batch to come out. 4) Didn't have robes in the room as pictured on their website. What could improve? The breakfast. Awful. I keep telling myself don't eat the free breakfast, but them my brain says, how bad can it be? Yes, that bad. Coffee was fine, breakfast sausage patty was fine. The eggs were rubber. The toaster would not heat and/or toast anything. There was no juice. I tried to heat my English muffin in the microwave, but someone had left an old banh mi sandwich in there. When I did get the muffin warmed a bit, I discovered there was no butter. A blueberry muffin has a way of rescuing any breakfast for me, but all they had were chocolate muffins. Chocolate? The room is clean, mattress fine. But oh! The breakfast. I wonder if they have a "skip the breakfast" rate? They should. read more

Probably the worst Best Western stay I have ever experienced. Not only was the front counter person unfriendly but not trained properly. She said she would not transfer my room reservation made by my friend to me. Then when we insisted she finally used my card for the charges. The following morning, I could not speak to a manager or a front counter person. They had a virtual person from another country on a computer screen try to solve my problems. That was useless also. At that point, I was given the manager's email address. I sent him an email asking him to contact me and I gave him my phone number. This review is written three days after that and he has not responded. I will never stay at this hotel again and refuse to recommend it to anybody. Very poor service! read more

Checked in over the weekend and it was a pretty smooth encounter. Smaller hotel with a cute pub outside. not really close to anything but right off the highway, which was convenient. We had a room on the second floor and I definitely did not like the keypad to enter the room. It did not work several times and I was not impressed. my husband had to let me in the room a couple times due to the keypad not working even waiting a while for it to have a chance to re-process like the front desk had mentioned. The room was clean. The shower was a good size. They had coffee pods for coffee, which was appreciated. The breakfast was not notable. The eggs were not really eggs very concerning spit it out right away. The sausage patty was okay. There were very minimal options and breakfast was overall not good probably the most disappointing breakfast I've had for several years at any hotel. Would not recommend wasting time for that. Overall the hotel itself is okay and cheaper than most of the other options in Half Moon Bay. read more

I would have liked to give at least 4 stars but I can't because my dad lost his wallet at our stay. He didn't realize it until we were already hours away from HMB. When I called the front desk, no one answered. I only got two options press 1 for more information about the hotel and press 0 to make reservations. I did 3 separate phone calls pressing 1then 0 to only get operators from who knows where and when they tried to contact the front dest no one answered! I was transferred to guess relations and only got all our info taken for a ticket # to see if they can resolve things. All we needed was front desk to ask staff if they found my dads wallet in their room or on their premises but No.. no one is at front desk. Shame on BW Aristocrat for not hiring any real staff to manage the front desk! Now my elderly father has to go through the hassle of getting a new license and bank cards, ect. Second inconvenience is that I booked two rooms: one room for my parents and one for my family of four. We only had 3 towels and when we asked for one more they said they were all out and no more extra for anyone! Ridiculous! Don't stay here. Its pricey, one of the least expensive but still expensive. If you're planning to stay in HMB, just go all out and pay the extra few hundred for a nicer hotel. $444.10 for a King with sofa bed for one night during fathers day weekend. Can't even get a towel they should be provided for the amount of guest staying in the room. read more

I was surprised that this hotel was not listed on YELP as it has been in business at least since June 2018. But in reading other hotel reviews, I see that this hotel was previously called Cameron's Inn. It is located off Cabrillo Hwy right next to Cameron's Restaurant and Inn off on a small street called Wavecrest Road. The area is quiet and off the beaten path. Rooms are clean and quiet. There's a fitness center, business center, complimentary breakfast, pet friendly and the staff is friendly. Check in was a breeze and they also have a kiosk at the front desk. If you are looking for a quiet and clean place to stay, that has a Keurig coffee maker, refrigerator and soap/shampoo/body wash dispenser in the shower, soap and lotion dispenser in the bathroom, this is your place. Complimentary breakfast is served for about two hours each morning which consists of a hot entree (today was sausage and egg muffin), bagels to toast, fruit like banana and oranges, cereal, instant oatmeal, yogurt, packaged muffins and granola bars, coffee and tea. Only juice available was in boxed juices for kids, no orange juice. You can also take your breakfast to go in a paper bag/plates. Coffee at the breakfast was ok so I made myself a Keurig cup of Starbucks in the room. read more

On June 11, 2025, I accidentally booked the wrong dates (July 11-13 instead of July 10-12) at the Best Western Aristocrat Hotel in Half Moon Bay via Priceline. I realized the mistake immediately -- within minutes and contacted Priceline, who attempted to reach the hotel on my behalf right away. Unfortunately, they couldn't get through to the front desk initially, but later spoke the front desk. Despite the situation being a clear, honest mistake and despite me acting immediately to correct it, the hotel refused to show any flexibility. All I asked was to adjust my reservation to the correct dates so I could attend a close friend's wedding. Priceline was fully willing to issue a refund or assist with changing the dates if the hotel agreed. Unfortunately, the hotel flatly refused. The cancellation policy quoted allows zero grace or correction period: "This booking is fully refundable if you cancel before June 10. If cancelled after June 11 at 12:00 AM, a penalty of 1 night(s) will be charged. This booking is Non-refundable after June 12 at 12:00 AM." There was no reasonable window for error correction, and absolutely no willingness from the hotel staff or management to help someone trying in good faith to stay at their property just on the right dates. I also contacted the hotel manager, A.G., who showed no interest in resolving the issue. I wasn't asking for a cancellation or refund to go elsewhere. I simply wanted to shift the booking to the correct days and stay at their hotel. The customer service experience was deeply disappointing. I was left in a financial bind over a simple, correctable issue. Priceline did all they could, but the hotel refused to cooperate. If you're considering staying here, I strongly recommend booking elsewhere unless you're absolutely certain you'll never need any help or flexibility. There is zero grace, zero understanding, and unfortunately, zero effort to make things right even for honest mistakes caught immediately. read more

This hotel is considered an upscale Best Western. I did not think it was particularly fancy, and assume that this just helps justify the higher prices that they can charge in a place like Half Moon Bay. The hotel is done in an English theme, and the lobby is decorated accordingly. The one thing that I found particularly annoying is that they have a kiosk that is used for check in during slow periods, so you end up talking to somebody on a screen who is actually in Columbia to get you through the check in process. This actually works, but I don't think it creates a very friendly atmostphere for you during the check in process. Other than that, I thought this hotel was just fine. read more

They left me trapped and stranded with little money after charging my card two times and taking my gift cards! I was charged 3 times and over $1000 in total. We stayed here on a trip to San Francisco and I loved the location and how cool it was. There was a pub right next to it, the parking was good as well. Very homey feel in the room, both the room and the lobby smelled very good. Also loved the TV selections, when we had wifi, you could watch whatever you wanted. The tv didn't come in the first night we were there, the staff apologized profusely for the trouble. The shower door was also broken, a screw was loose and didn't feel comfortable using it. The tv was up the second night and the shower door was also fixed. The staff was very friendly and accommodating though. Would definitely stay here again. read more

We stayed four nights at Aristocrat. We really enjoyed our stay. Decor is a fun British theme. Room was completely recently renovated and very comfortable and clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was grab and go style or you can eat at one of the tables. Breakfast sandwiches were served and there was also bagels, toast, cereal, granola bars, bananas, yogurt and juice and coffee. We had a wonderful stay and the price was affordable. We also enjoyed eating at Cameron's next door for a few meals. Lots of variety. We will definitely stay again. read more

Stayed here for an anniversary night. A nice little hotel just alongside Cabrillo Highway 1. Parking seems to be limited to around 30 spaces or so. It is also next to a pub if you decide to have a nightcap. I noticed that pub patrons who are unable to park at the designated pub parking will park here so get back early after your sightseeing. Also, that left turn to head North from the hotel is a death trap/accident waiting to happen. One lane traffic on Cabrillo seems endless. In some instances, I had to make a right just to U-turn to head North. Service: Our check in concierge was nice and the process was seamless. Room service staff was also nice. 5 of 5 Room: Our room was clean to our standards. The shower has dispensers and the shampoo dispenser was not filled =( Overall, room seems to be clean along with the pillows and linen. I do still bring my own disinfectant wipes regardless. 4/5 Food: Continental breakfast. Not a lot of traffic since it's a smaller, boutique hotel. Breakfast was as expected. 5/5 Overall: The place is nice and I like the location. However, on the day of our check out, we decided to do some sightseeing before we check out (12pm). Upon returning, we were locked out of our room =( We asked the nearby room service to unlock it but they apologized and stated that hotel policy does not allow them to unlock since it is still occupied (understandable) and only the front desk can. I asked the lady at reception what had happened, which she apologized, but stated that the rooms have an "auto lockout" on the day of check out. I asked but were not technically check out yet but anyway didn't dispute further. This event brought down my review a star. 3/5 read more

What an impeccably clean hotel with super friendly staff. A unique experience with a kiosk and live agent to check you in if staff not available. We just needed a staycation type of trip. We are from the east bay and were recommended by a co worker to stay at this hotel due to the proximity to the beach and the awesome English style pub next door. They didn't mention how awesome the hotel itself was. The staff were very friendly, the hotel was very clean and the beds were so comfortable. We had a great time with a much needed reset. Everything is very close about 5minutes drive and there is also an awesome walking trail/beach close by. read more

It's an upscale best western. The elevator smells weird and they try to have you check in with an agent via self serve kiosk. The "British Breakfast" is pre made breakfast sandwiches, bagels, and mandarin oranges. Room was clean but a number of things were obviously neglected or in poor repair. read more

I JUST HATED THIS PLACE. Pls don't waste your money on this Motel 6. . They have insulted the meaning of Aristocrat. There is nothing Aristocratic about this property . The King Rooms touted are tubes of 50 square feet. The fireplace included is a mini flame controlled by the cheap owners for low gas consumption. The bath room is another affirmation of the cheapness of the owners mind with Third rate mentality. The towels are cheap cloth not good for even one time use. The light in the bath room go off while taking a shower because of saving electricity. The shower water is a drizzle because of water cost saving by the low class owner who must be an old guy saving his pennies and misleading his guests. THIS DUMP SHOULD BE CALLED " THE SERVANTS PLACE". You get the picture... I am reporting this place to HEALTH CARE AUTHORITIES as they are refilling water in the room with TAP WATER. Really cute place, great for dogs! The good - super clean, convenient location and dog friendly. Our neighbor apologized for her dogs barking and we never heard them. We got a king suite and it's a good amount of space with a coffee maker and microwave. Pull out sofa was actually really comfortable. The street it's located on dead ends into open space, great for walking the dog and hikes. The bad - there is a kiosk to check in. We arrived early and asked the person through the kiosk to check in and he said no rooms were available until 3pm (check in time. We were able to store our bags in the office until check in) but as we were coming around from the office, the kiosk guy was checking in another guest - same room as we booked. I asked his girlfriend and she said they didn't request an early check in, just got there early like we did and they checked them in right away. There was a "live" person behind the desk after 3pm. I had to use the kiosk again the check out - I just find the kiosk to be annoying. Hospitality should require in person staff (in my opinion). read more

Every time we have stayed here on our way home on a long road trip has been wonderful. Breakfast ends a little early but, they offer a good assortment of food for those who may not eat meat or dairy. The beds are confit, tv channels good and it's super quiet even for the rooms on the main floor, looking out tot he parking lot. We took a long walk down the main road and enjoyed the trail after breakfast. The rooms are super quiet, nice thick walls thankfully ( we have a young child). Cameron's pub with wonderful food is located right next door. Great stop if you going to arrive a little later and a nice place to wake up. read more

I've had two experiences with this hotel, neither one of them pleasant. We stayed at the end of April and I made the reservation using a gift card. The check in process was dealing with a person on a computer screen who is very inexperienced. She didn't know how to deal with the gift card and charged us for the full amount. In her attempt to fix it she charged us again. We had to deal with this on check in and check out and were assured it had been fixed. A week later, more charges appeared on my credit card and now I was overbilled $200. I called and tried to resolve this and again they didn't understand what was the problem. I asked for the manager and he finally called me back and said he rectified the problem and the adjustment would show up on my credit card in a week. Well a week later, it didn't so I had to call again. Finally it was resolved. Now after that you would think I'd never return. Well my mother wanted to visit Half Moon Bay and likes the Best Western chain and wanted to stay there. Ok, I made the reservations, no gift card so this should be easy...right? The hotel is OK, it's clean and the rooms seem to be maintained. The rooms are a bit small for the price. Unfortunately, the day we were to arrive, my mother called and was very ill so we had to cancel. I called to cancel that morning and I knew there was a cancellation fee but I thought there would be some kind of exception for emergencies. Nope, none. I guess if you died they'd still charge you. The fee is steep, the full night's rate PLUS occupancy tax! I feel this is a REAL rip off. I could understand if you just didn't show up or had the habit of cancelling last minute, it would be justified. With this type of policy you're not encouraging return visits. We will never return again. It costs us $400 for the cancellation fees on both rooms...outrageous. read more

Absolutely horrific customer service. We canceled our reservation too late which was our fault, so we knew we'd be charged for part our stay as stated on the email confirmation. Check in day rolls around and we're charged the full amount! We call the hotel and they give a whole run around saying to call corporate ?? and finally tell us sorry you're out of luck and basically said too bad. This happened to my friend that was originally supposed to stay there that weekend as well. I've reported this to my bank and I'm still having to deal with this 2 months later. Surprised to find this lovely hotel tucked a couples of minutes away from the beaches i love to visit. I definitely prefer this hotel to the overpriced nearby beachfront hotels. First of all, the price is right. Secondly, the king bed was extremely comfortable. I also love having the full length mirror outside of the bathroom so two people can get ready at the same time. The air conditioner seemed brand new which also is a welcoming comfort for excellent sleep. The tv was giant and placed right in front of the king bed. There was a min refrigerator and a keurig. Some of the nearby beachfront hotels do not offer these comforts and can be quite noisy. It is also a dog friendly hotel. It seemed to me that the people with furbabies were on the 1st floor. Still, I never heard noises from dogs or people and it was 4th of July weekend. So, they know what they're doing. The front desk personnel were very friendly and accommodating. The continental breakfast was good. Some items they had included two waffle makers, cereal, Chobani yogurts (in a frig), mini simply OJ bottles, Tropicana, bananas, and a variety of bagels and cream cheese. The coffee was great, too. On the same property there was an awesome pub which served an excellent dinner and many different delicious beers. I will come back to this hotel. read more
