I've stayed at a lot of price hotels on the California coast in this place is an unbeatable bargain. My room was $200 a night and I had an ocean view room. I actually think that the Cove view rooms are better. There are a few restaurants very close to the hotel and Nick's seafood was fantastic. Less than a mile away, you have strip ball that had everything you would need from Safeway to Starbucks to McDonald's to a local Taqueria. This place was a gem! The only criticism is they need coffee makers in the room, but having to go to the lobby for free coffee made me engage with a couple of the other guests, which was fine read more

I booked this motel thru booking.com. We had a sudden death in the family so i tried to change the days on the reservation. Great mini-vacation down from the city. Good price for a very clean, comfortable room, feet away from the crashing waves of Rockaway Beach. Nick's restaurant is right next door where I ate every meal (grilled crab sandwich with avocado, wow), and made friends with the bartenders that treated me like I had been a regular for years. They even have live music and dancing on the weekends. That was very amusing and enjoyable. The entire experience was a very nice, relaxing and reasonable get-away for us city drudges. Did wish for a microwave in the room, but no big deal. Can't wait to come back for a longer stay. read more

This is going to be a classic roadside motel from the 50s, but don't let that fool you! Location cannot be beat, hearing the ocean was a bonus. Only point of contention, and this is a minor one, was that the bed slid around on the stand a bit. Otherwise, room was clean and comfortable, and you had the essentials like wifi. If you expect fancy, go elsewhere, but this is truly a hidden gem of Pacifica. read more

Giving this place ONE star because of the location. The location is stellar. Ocean front. 9 feet waves crashing on the parking lot. It's crazy. I'll attach photos of the ocean from our room. We stayed in room #1. Directly next door to the restaurant. Constant banging on the walls, sound of dishes and silverware being tossed around. Our bathroom window went right out to their kitchen it sounded like. Obviously not a whole lot the motel can do about that- maybe charge less for a room so damn loud??? This motel gives you an option to pay an additional fee of $20 for a later checkout. From 11 am, it goes to 1 pm. We paid upon check-in Saturday evening. Come Sunday morning, the maids came twice knocking and trying to open our door. The second time I was getting out of the shower, completely not clothed. We called the front desk and explained they needed to inform the maids we paid for a late checkout and to please not knock and try to gain entry. She said ok. THE MAIDS CAME A 3RD TIME TO OUR ROOM, KNOCKING AND TRYING TO OPEN THE DOOR. I politely said yes? How can I help you, through the door, and the maid said, " since you are not wanting room service, when do you plan on leaving??". I said excuse me, we paid for a later checkout, so 1pm. She walked away. Come 1 pm, my fiancé goes to the front office to turn in the keys. The front desk lady then informs us she has to charge us extra as we did not check out at 11 am. We told her we already had paid. After flipping through papers, she said oh okay. We checked our bank. We paid. 3 times is way too excessive. Now, let's talk about the room. The bed was so uncomfortable. Super hard and had a bend in the mattress. I wasn't able to sleep. The were 4 pillows. Two were flat and soft, two were a bit thicker and hard. 11/10 would NOT recommend. The bathroom seemed clean enough. The shower head was like a hose attachment that sprayed. I wasn't a fan. However, the shower and bathroom seemed clean. I'm not sure how much my fiancé paid for the night, but I would have preferred to not have stayed there. The location is prime. The staff, and being directly next door, sharing a wall to the restaurant, not so much. DO NOT BOOK ROOM 1. Just spend the extra money, and go elsewhere. read more

This tiny find on the Pacifica coastline is a perfect getaway. Literally on the beach, super simple, clean furnishings, double pane windows to block out the waves (or open up to the full audio and sea breezes). Wow. we have stayed at Pacifica many times. we always stay across the street for basically the same price Unfortunately, it was booked up. So, I made a reservation at this garbage motel. The ONLY few good things was the proximity to the ocean, easy check in, friendly staff, close parking to room. The bad: Cleanliness! Our socks were black from the ground. The bathroom was absurdly disgusting, the walls were thin, the parking lot and behind the motel are super noisy. The beds seemed super short, and we are not tall people. For the price ($180 on a Sunday night), I expect the cleanliness to be much much better! It's like they seriously don't care. read more

I have to say that this was a wonderful breakaway from the city it's only an hour from our house and we hit from our house and we had no idea we would have enjoyed it so much. Initially I had made reservations by phone and I talked to Nina and she booked me into a room for 2 nights. I actually got the nights that I wanted which was Wednesday and Thursday nights. I was very clear that I wanted a room that I could not only see the ocean, but I could hear it all night every time I woke up. I wanted to hear it. She said all the rooms are like that. When I got there it looked like a typical seaside seaside beach motel and I have to say that it's an impressive job that they keep it up. I know how damaging wind sun and salt water can be on a property. And they managed to keep it looking pretty good. We got there checked in and went to our room. One thing I liked is it was very clean but it didn't smell like that cleaner that they leave that you smell in all the hotels. Just had a nice pleasant scent to it, probably the sea air. The bed was a good size and I believe they used those incredible phone mattresses that are very dense that shape to your body. The furniture was old and dated but everything was clean. I wasn't expecting a 5 star hotel and I got a really comfortable warm inviting room, that faced the ocean which I heard all day and all night. It was amazing. My wife was so happy she never stopped smiling. I swear we will return and bring our daughter with us and stay another couple days when it isn't so busy on the weekend and maybe stay in the midweek. It's a perfect place to explore the coast in that area and there's all these little treasures that you can find. Good special little places that make it a personal vacation that others really won't understand unless they do it themselves. The managers were very inviting on our arrival and made us feel comfortable. Feel comfortable. We had questions but no questions were stupid they answered them freely. It will be nice to return to such a special place. And I cannot describe the view at our door except to say that it's spectacular to lay in your bed and watch the sunset. read more

Unbelievable greed. It's all different now folks. New manager No warmth. No loyalty to guests coming for YEARS. Can't see out the windows so don't pay for ocean view. Btw. FilthyDirty ! The previous guest's towels were damp grey and re-placed on the towel bar as clean. The bath mat was muddy and still on the floor in front of the shower. The bed linens seemed clean but were suspect. The heater was broken and I had booked the room for about $40 less than they charged us (180+ !). Amenities were limited to a single 1"x1 1/2" very thin bar of soap for two people without shampoo, body soap, or otherwise. There were no outlets in the room to plug in a CPAP or my electric mobility wheels. The location was great, but the place is a ripoff dump. The clientele left a bit to be desired; management was apathetic and said I can check out. Where would we go at that point? The day was over and we'd driven 6 hours already. read more

Horrible parking, very small room, drunk people outside of our room till 3 am. Zero ventilation in the room so you have to keep the window open all night so it's not 90 degrees in the room. Not only were drunks outside of our window most of the night, they were smoking weed and cigarettes that were coming right into the room. Definitely a low budget town and beach experience. Won't be coming back to Pacifica. There is zero shopping and they don't put any money into this town and it shows. read more

You're experience here will depend mainly on your personality and what you are hoping to gain from your trip. There are two big PROs: 1) Owners & staff are pleasant 2) Proximity to the ocean. The property is elevated, take a few steps to the rocky edge and look down onto the ocean. There are sandy beaches close by as well. The rooms are outdated and worn, but I didn't mind because the room was functional. BUT the condition of the carpet is unforgivable; had to wear my slippers. I get it, the environment is humid and guests are rough on the carpet. But I STRONGLY urge them to consider getting a water-proof, non-slip laminate in a nice rustic beachy grey. That's exactly what I have in my master bedroom and it would class up the room a bit. They can change out the vacuum for a Bissell crosswave. FYI, there's a freakin' PUBLIC parking lot between the ocean-view rooms and the ocean. I arrived on a Holiday weekend and it was NON-STOP noise and traffic just a few feet from my hotel door. Many visitors had NO respect for the hotel guests, speeding, blasting music, talking loud just a few feet from our door. Sometimes the vehicle itself would be unreasonably loud (think motorcycles and classic cars). Monday was Labor day, it was SO loud in the parking lot. Tuesday and Wednesday the restaurant/lounge was closed so it was finally quiet. Thursday the restaurant opened and traffic picked up but the noise wasn't too bad yet. Friday a wedding party arrived, many of them smoked cigarettes and talked loud outside our rooms. I had to close my window because my new nextdoor neighbors were constantly smoking just a few feet from my window. I'm not trying to be a 'Karen' but I have respiratory issues so this was more than just a minor annoyance. So no fresh air or ocean sounds from my room after that point. If you like a party atmosphere then you'll fit right it. But if you want a peaceful quiet trip to the ocean you will NOT get that here, unless you stay on a weekday. Oh, and that restaurant/lounge really needs to mix in some newer music. Oh my gosh, I went there three times and the music was always old, very old. At least throw in some 90's music..... read more

Very frustrating experience. When I arrived, I found that I was booked into the wing that had dogs allowed. There were a few few dogs that were very noisy and barking and people yelling at them. I went to the front desk and asked if I could be moved. She said she would have a room ready for me on the other wing in about 40 minutes. When I went back to the front desk, after not hearing from anybody, there was another person working there. That lady told me that there was nothing available and that there's the Cleaning team had left for the day so there were no clean rooms. I asked if I could get at least get discount and she said no, but you can leave if you'd like. talk about really poor customer service! In addition to that there is no air conditioning as it states in their listing and the heater is on and cannot be turned off. It's noisy because it's right on a parking lot. My husband and I started our honeymoon here for 4 nights before our Hawaii trip. We had such a great time here! Bed was super comfortable, staff is extremely friendly and helpful and the front beach view made our stay worth it! There's a breakfast place next store called Breakers and they had the best chicken fried steak on the weekends. This is an old school looking motel on the beach so keep that in mind. Simple motel. Not to crowded during the time I went. Love the fact that I can hear the ocean waves crashing and the walk down to the beach was steps away. The restaurant next door customers take up parking space for those staying at Seabreeze; but in the evening you can always move your car closer. Lots of walking and mini hiking trails with the awesome view of the ocean. If you want to hear the live bands next door, get there early or else you won't have a spot. The bar is small and fills up fast. Our neighbors next to us on both sides were quiet. Only sound you hear is when they are outside your window or door talking. I suggest closing bathroom window and door while sleeping. The bed was a queen memory foam and was comfortable. We also had a table and two chairs in our room, which made it nice to sit and enjoy drinking our coffee and watching T.V. Overall, great place to stay! read more

We have been coming here for over 25 years and it's time for an upgrade. The bad is definitely outweighing the bad. We walked in and the smoke smell was almost overwhelming! At almost $200 per night I just can't do it anymore. Hair on the bathroom floor and furniture that has been here forever, bedspreads that are so old it's not funny. I live in San Francisco. Every time I'm exploring the Rockaway Beach area, I say to myself, "Some day I'm going to book a room at the Sea Breeze Motel and stay here." Well, my birthday weekend fell on the four-day Easter weekend, so I booked a couple of nights there on a spur-of-the-moment decision. And I'm glad I did. From the unassuming office with the friendly staff to the clean well-appointed room to the sound of the surf lulling me to sleep at night, it was just what I hoped it would be. A great launching-off point for exploring this part of the Bay Area. And, I enjoyed being part of the crowd who gathered around the rocks to watch the sun set into the sea. I could drive five or six hours to some vacation spot, and it wouldn't be any better that the Sea Breeze Motel half an hour from my home. I want to live there. And shout-out to the nice man who checked us out when we left on Monday. I can't wait 'till I book my next mini-vacation half an hour down the road at the Sea Breeze Motel. read more

The pro is that the motel is literally on the beach with its own private cove. The pristine location is maybe worth it to stay here since you are less than 50ft from the water. However, the room is pretty awful. The floor is dirty, the bathroom looks like it has never been cleaned, there was hair all over the sheets making me believe it was maybe never washed. The towels smelled moldy, even the walls were covered in marks. The location is really nice but definitely worth the $160-$180 a night. Owners of the property- please invest in some serious upgrades and better cleaning protocols. read more

I'm on day two of my stay here as I write this and I'm a little surprised there's ANY bad reviews. There are some downsides but for the price, it's unobjectionable.  Here's a quick list: Negatives: Remote control for the TV is outdated.. They should get the anti-bacterial remote Continental breakfast has only bear claws. It'd be nice to see something vegan too. The only 3-prong, grounded power outlets are in the bathroom. Bring converters. There are not many power outlets in rooms. Bring extension cords for your chargers. Positives: Pet friendly decent-size refrigerator Very friendly and accommodating staff Walking distance to hikes, beach, surfing, restaurants & shops to the south Overall its a pleasant place to stay. This motel has the best location of any you can find, it's right at the edge of the ocean. It's great to hear the waves crashing on the shore all night long. It's been in business since the 40's or 50's and I'm afraid that the mattresses are about that old as well. They are way too hard to get a good night's sleep on. Even though the room appears to be 50 years old it's still very quaint and clean. If they spend a little money updating the beds, they have a gem of a place to stay. Don't think I could stay here again without bringing a memory foam mattress topper with me. read more

I have a thing for hotels/motels that our out of date. There is a charm to them, that those other newer hotels just don't have. For their cheap rates, you are pretty much getting up front beach property ocean views. Tell me you can't get any better than that. I think the hotel just across the way is $200+ per night, if you have the money go for it. I am more for the experience. What to do at the Sea Breeze is, bring a book, walk on the beach, bring your loved one (wink*wink*), go surfing. But don't limit yourself to just staying inside the room. Love this place! read more

I am a fan of The Sea Breeze Motel, but not because of the room, it's all about the location. We stayed 3 nights there. It was supposed to be that the first night was a cove view and the remaining 2 an ocean view, but once we got there and saw that there are less cars on the cove side we decided to stay where we were. The restaurant next door is very popular an their parking is shared with the motel, so if you're in an ocean view room all those cars are parked right in front of you door. It's only steps to the beach with the best view ever, so no need for an ocean view room. The previous review is correct, the walls are thin. if you have neighbors with loud voices you will hear them. We had to call and complain about an arguing couple next door. But the noise wasn't all night and we were able to get to bed at a reasonable time. Also, the bathroom could use some regrouting, but it was clean. As was the rest of the room. The bed was comfortable and the linens were clean. But ultimately it is all about location, the views, the beach. The best part of our trip was walking on the beach after a day of site seeing. Nick's Restaurant next door was also very good, had dinner and breakfast there. They are always busy and the food was excellent. read more

This is a nothing fancy motel. Having said that we love it here. Where can you get a room with parking included this close to San Francisco and right on the ocean. The resident manager is very friendly as well. However it is time for upgrades. The towels are pretty thread bare. The mattress is years from being comfortable and it seems common practice for people to smoke right outside their room which means if you leave your window open to get the fresh ocean air you might get the non fresh air of someone's smoking. Parking can be tough at night when the adjacent restaurant is open but it really doesn't matter where you park, the sea gulls will find it and use it for target practice. This is our third time here but probably our last. The bad is definitely out weighing the good read more

This is a no frills type of place, a bed, bathroom, mini fridge and a door that locks. Just a hair under $100 with tax on a great site. Overpriced, noisy, and the management were not honest. I told the desk staff I was taking a night by the ocean to escape a terrible noise issue at my home. I was given room #1, right next to the restaurant. After settling in I was greeted with incredibly loud bangs from the other side of the wall from my bed, television noise from the adjoining room through paper-thin walls, subwoofers in the cars that use the parking lot (between the motel and the beach) as a cruising zone, and loud groups of people walking right by the window. I checked Yelp and indeed, people have complained about room #1 - not just being noisy at night, but first thing in the morning. I went back to the office and was told by the man they had never had any problems with this room, at which point I told him I thought he was lying. He told me to leave. At least he refunded my money. $180 with taxes, midweek off season, for a threadbare old-school motel room that had clearly been smoked in for years before they banned it. You can surely do better than this. read more

Low cost, no frills little gem of a place. I don't think I I've ever actually stayed at a place so close to the ocean. The hotel staff was friendly through and through from calling to make the reservation to checking in and checking out. The rooms are dated but you really can't beat the price given the location and you're not there to sit in your room with a view like that. We have no complaints and will absolutely return! read more

Rooms are ok for a needed stay. Very dated rooms right on the beach. The soap was old in the bathroom and bed looked like it had not been washed prior. It smells funny. you cant play music or have anyone in your rooms during daytime hours. The staff are polite but were complaining no noise at all. We had to ask for our money back if we couldnt even talk. Then the people in the room next to us were arguing after 10 pm and they never came to stop them. Then i come to lay down and there was a roach on the wall. I wont be staying here again. They had the rooms in the hotel across the street the same price and were beautiful. We stayed there last night not what we expected. Very out dated, the bed was hard as a rock. We were excited to have dinner at Nick's ( which was great) and stay at the motel to sleep by the sea and listen to the waves. The location is great, I loved the water right out side the door BUT once inside that was another story. I was nervous to take off my socks, carpet old and stained. The tile in the bathroom has been there since it was built I'm pretty sure. Staff was friendly, it wasn't worth the price we paid. If they remodeled it'd be a great spot to stay.
