Our very handsome and thankful baby boy
Samantha E.

I cannot put into words how grateful we are for Pacific Animal Eye Care! After many, many visits to different vets trying to find out what was wrong with our cat, they were able to pinpoint and give us a diagnosis and solution within 20 minutes! They are so patient and kind and understanding and I'm here crying writing this because we have been through so much to try and help our baby Cheeto and they helped us so quick and easily! If I could rate them 100 stars, I would!! We had gone back and forth about having to make the decision of putting our pet down because we could not get a clear diagnosis of what happened to his eye or if he would ever be okay again. They gave us hope in a time of need, as cheesy as that sounds. After many tears shed and stress on all of us, our pet included, he will finally be our happy boy again!!!! They even donated infection antibiotics to our boy!!! WE ARE SO INCREDIBLY THANKFUL FOR YOU ALL THAT HELPED US OUT, I WISH I KNEW YOUR NAMES! Dr. Roybal and the very nice and kind lady at the front desk! Thank you guys so much for helping us out, we will forever be grateful for you!

Back in April my dog started having some eye issues. I took him to his vet over a few weeks with no improvement. Eye removal was pretty much on the table. I was referred out to Pacific Animal Eye Care. At this point, stitch was having all kinds of things coming out of his eye. Dr. Roybal treated with an aggressive eye drop and oral regimen over the next few months. Today (end of July), Stitch had his last appointment and his eye has significantly improved. Dr. Roybal explained everything, every step of the way and was even available a few times when I had questions from home. All the staff are so kind, helpful, and professional! Not gonna lie, I was scared of the cost, but it really was not what I thought - much better than an eye removal that's for sure! So happy we came here! Highly recommend!!

It's heartbreaking when we were told our poodle needs an eye specialist. Since our pets can not talk and tell us how they feel. We were referred to Dr. Roybal. I can not express our sincere gratitude to Dr. Nicole Roybal. From the beginning Dr. Nicole Roybal explained the situation of our poodles eye and went over our options of procedures. Dr. Roybal and and staff are very knowledgeable, caring, friendly and has only our poodles wellbeing at state. We drove from Aiea to Kaneohe for all treatments. Well worth the trip. Today, I am happy to say our poodle has no problem with his eye. Healing was very fast !! I recommend Dr. Roybal to any pet parent should you need an eye doctor. Thank you Dr. Nicole Roybal for all you do for our pet babies !!!

Happy cat thanks to pacific animal eye care and dr. Roybals staff

Dr. Roybal is an amazing doctor, the whole staff is exceptional and it's rare to find people who genuinely care about your pets as much as you do. If it wasn't for them my cat lazar would have without a doubt lost his eye. I am very thankful for these people and so is my cat :D

Our prescious fur babies Sierra and Sade'

We are so grateful to have been referred to Dr. Roybal as an Ophthalmologist for our fur baby Sierra. She suddenly became blind in both eyes in a matter of 3 days. After running tests she ruled out SAARDS and we are hopeful that her eyesight will come back with the medication prescribed. Her staff is amazing and caring just like she is. Thank you for making our fur baby a priority in such short notice.

Called Koolau Animal Hospital and they were able to take us in! The staff was professional and comforting to our fur baby, very impressed with the care and support! Thanks Whitney & Tasha?? Dr. Asato is trustworthy and honest with her diagnosis of the dog's condition. She doesn't push or pressure you in to anything that's not necessary. Not sure what it was like before but, her honesty and compassion is enough for me to trust her words & actions. The practice is very mom & pop, so if that's your style then this would be the place for you. Sometimes those bigger shinier practices seem better, but would they make the space and time for you when you need it?? As a follow up.. our dog is doing fine from following the instructions and medication that Dr. Asato prescribed for us. Thank you Koolau Animal Hospital!

I tried giving him treats before I step out, new toys, over the counter medication to no avail, so thought maybe prescribed meds might help him adjust. Took to Yelp to find the nearest veterinarian. Koolau was within walking distance. However, I ended up driving in. With covid precautions in place, pet parents stay parked in the lot while fur kids are taken in. Transition of care was seamless. They called our previous vet's office for Zippy's medical records. Staff is caring and friendly, all you could hope for in veterinary care.

Ali'i animal is not our regular vet but we have used them for daycare and boarding services. Today we went to Ali'i to have my pet ears examined and a hot spot wound re-checked. Joey was in and out of this hospital through some very serious moments. He had to be induced many times, undergo emergency procedures, and face situations where I truly didn't know if I would get more time with him. And every single time, this team showed up--with skill, urgency, and unwavering dedication. They didn't just treat him... they gave him more life. Because of them, Joey lived to 15 years and 2 months--time I know I wouldn't have had otherwise. That is something I can never repay. But what truly sets this hospital apart is their compassion. Every doctor, every technician, every staff member treated Joey like he was their own. And they treated me with such kindness and patience through every high and every devastating low. When it came time to say goodbye, they handled his final moments with a level of grace and humanity that I will never forget. There was no rush, no clinical coldness--only quiet compassion. They made space for love, for dignity, and for a peaceful goodbye. In the middle of the hardest moment of my life, they created something that felt gentle... and even beautiful. Joey wasn't just a patient there. He was known, he was loved, and he was fought for. And I will be forever grateful to this team for giving me the gift of more time with my boy--and for helping me say goodbye to him in the most compassionate way possible. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart

I brought my precious 18.5 year old boy here to assess whether we should continue to medicate him or help him cross the rainbow bridge. I decided for the latter and that isn't what made this such a terrible experience. I regret each moment after I made that decision. When you arrive at this clinic, they take your dog from you and examine them while you wait in the car. So they had already taken him from me. The vet came out to have the conversation with me about options, and when I made my decision they told me I could wait in the car or the reception area. I chose the reception area, not really thinking much about it because I was grieving. Within moments, the receptionist started giving me papers to sign and options for cremation and I heard my baby boy screaming bloody murder in the room next to the reception area. I was in a panic, but in freeze mode, crying while the receptionist just stared at me. I had no idea they were going to needle and sedate him before I even got to see him again! After what felt like an eternity of hearing him scream, they brought me into the room and he was completely in shock and already half way gone. I picked him up and she didn't even give me a chance to talk to him or say anything she just stated explaining what she was injecting into his IV. He was dead within mere minutes of me stepping into the room. Then of course they told me to take all the time I needed. I was so traumatized I walked out and left his blanket, his bed, his collar. To be fair, I called the clinic a week later and left a message saying I wanted to speak with the clinic manager about a recent experience. No one ever called me back. They never even called to see if I wanted his things back. And they charged me over $400 for this traumatic experience. Don't get me wrong, losing a dog is never easy. But when I've done home euthanasia before, it's so much more peaceful and compassionate. This. Was. Awful. My sweet boy did not deserve to die that way after 18 faithful years. I will never, ever forget his screams. Never. Look elsewhere for pet care. This place doesn't deserve your money.

I heard about Arms of Aloha in passing as others recommended them on various Facebook dog groups that I'm a part of. When my dog was diagnosed with cancer, one thing that popped into my mind was that, if possible, I'd like to let her cross over at home, where she was more comfortable. This thought was even stronger after having visited the vet so many times in the last weeks of her life. I had read up on the literature available on the Arm's of Aloha website (where you can also get an estimate) as well as preregistered. You can also look at their appointments available. They advise on making an appointment at least 1-2 days in advance, especially on the weekends. The hard part is knowing ahead what day that will be. My dog took a turn for the worst one day and I went back and forth on scheduling the only/last appointment available for the next day (appts can be seen/booked online). No one wants to make that call (decision), but it's also painful to watch your beloved friend suffer. They do have a thorough cancellation policy you can read online and I decided I'd book the last appointment to secure it and I could always cancel/reschedule more than 8 hours out. In the confirmation email, there is a link to a video to watch of the Doctor describing the process so you're familiar - I'd recommend this if it is your first time through this. I guess because it was already the next day, they called me shortly after to confirm my appointment. I could barely get the words out the confirm but I never felt judged by the person on the phone. The morning of the appointment, I received an invoice in my email. They suggest taking care of it ahead of time as doing it in the moment with so many emotion is harder. I appreciated this detail and was able to get it out of the way. At our scheduled appointment time, Dr. Naun came to our house. She has a calm and peaceful energy to her. She had some further paperwork for me to sign then we started the process. It was peaceful, and of course sad, but Dr. Naun brought comfort to the situation and we're so grateful for a service like this. We chose to have our dog's ashes returned to us and about a week later, we received a beautiful urn and our paw prints. With the service, they have a chaplain who you may access to talk to if you need help. I did not use it but they do also offer at home palliative care.
