The main TV was going over an original brick fireplace, and I chose a pull-down mount, which requires much more precision and skill than a standard TV mount. I'm the daughter of a long line of carpenters, so I tend to notice how someone approaches their work. From the moment Jay arrived, I could tell he was extremely knowledgeable and skilled. He took the time to prepare properly, worked confidently and carefully, and I could immediately relax knowing that everything was going to be mounted securely and correctly. Watching someone who truly knows what they're doing is such a pleasure. He was also incredibly clean and respectful of my home. His wife worked alongside him throughout the installation, and the two of them were exceptionally efficient without ever making the work feel rushed. He was also wonderfully resourceful. I had planned to purchase a separate bracket for my soundbar, but he found an elegant way to attach it using the existing TV mount, saving me about $90 while actually giving me a cleaner-looking installation. I really appreciated that he wasn't just there to install things -- he was thinking about the best solution for my setup. My overall sense is that Carlos is fairly capable and experienced but either his team or him are not as careful as we had damages to our finished wood toe kicks and our lacquer cabinets looked like they had been dragged over nails as they were being assembled. I didn't appreciate that they made 0 mention of it at all and I had to point it out. As the homeowner, I essentially had to baby sit them for 5 days through the install since it felt like they were incapable / unwilling to read the kitchen cabinet installation instructions in detail and I caught several mistakes early on during the cabinet assembly that made me hesitant to leave it unattended. Carlos's attitude was particularly bad through the entire experience as well. Always made it seem like we were inconveniencing him or being too nit picky even if we caught some mistakes. At one point, he even threatened to quit after the assembly but before the installation simply because he had underestimated the complexity of the project. We did have a 1 day delay due to some plumbing / electrical issues but that's pretty typical as far as kitchen cabinet installations go AFAIK. In the end, they were able to get all the kitchen cabinets installed, albeit with a lot of effort from my end due to the more custom nature of the project. The price was affordable and the work was solid (minus the scratches) but for me the bad attitude wasn't worth it.

Lex and Maxat were the nicest people, arrived on time, left at 6pm each day leaving the house clean. It was a 3 day install and they finished on the third day. Beyond what they needed to do, Lex walked through things that would be checked by the inspectors even on work they didn't do (GFCI plugs close to where the old unit was), and walked me through why they did some of the things they did because I was curious. We're 3 days in so far, but the installation experience was great, and the daikin system is cooling the house great (and I can already see from the energy monitoring systems we have, it's so much more efficient!).

I had a tricky install over the fireplace which gave us limited mounting options. Worry not, in a flash, Sajjad identified the best possible mounting location and found the studs as horizontal, not vertical as I would have expected. After browsing their work, I knew they would execute my vision for my living room. I was reluctant to mount my TV above my fireplace, but unfortunately there was not another configuration that would work well. I even had to downsize my TV, and despite multiple changes to the original request, UMS was super flexible and accommodating. They came through on time, and knocked the job out in a little over an hour. I opted for conduit vs a recessed cable run, but it looks super clean and professional, as I envisioned. Should I decide to go in-wall in the future, I will definitely call them back to take on the job.

Despite the job requiring two technicians, only one was sent. While he was friendly, he mounted the flatscreens crooked and off-center, left exposed wiring, and departed before completing the work--something I didn't notice until after he left. My attempts to resolve the situation with Fixtman were frustrating. I was passed between multiple "quality service representatives," faced overbilling attempts, and despite promises to send another professional, they stopped responding. The situation worsened when the technician obtained my personal number and harassed me for payment, threatening to visit until I paid. I sent him $200 to end the harassment. Thumbtack later reimbursed me, and when Fixtman eventually reached out about sending another technician, I declined further service. After closely examining reviews on Thumbtack, google and other platforms, I discovered this was a pattern with Fixtman and their technicians. Lesson learned: regardless of the number of positive reviews, always scrutinize negative and recent feedback!

He was complaining that my $300 mount was more expensive to remove & install. Then, he couldn't transport it in his van full if stuff. So, my roomate & I had to bring it down on my flat handtruck and put it into my suv. We brought it to the new place and he helped to hold the TV as we wheeled it in. Then he said he couldn't install it on my wall and we had to spend an extra $50 to buy this cheap mount that doesn't move side to side..etc. Then he offered to take my expensive mount & I said No. I only paid him $350 so he would leave. It was terrible. I'm having another company come in to install MY original mantel mount for $150.

Alex did such an amazing job that even my mom was amazed at how good the walls looked. Shortly after that, we had Alex come back to install outdoor security cameras, which required wiring, mounting, and installation of weatherproof boxes; he also fixed our overhead kitchen light which is a non-standard fixture. Alex is knowledgeable at just about everything in and out of a home - he talked to me about exterior siding and which lumber yard would source my particular home's wood panels, as well as sprinkler systems. Overall, we only have amazing things to say about Alex and the quality of the work he has done for us. Scheduling him to come by to estimate projects and subsequently do the work has been incredibly easy because of how responsive Alex and his wife Lisbeth (who manages the schedule) are with project scope and availability. As always, Proper Hour Home Services were very easy to work with and did a fantastic job at a great price! Our new fridge was too tall for our cabinet space, so needed to cut about 1 1/4 inches from top lip. We also had a long copper tubing run connecting filtered water to our old fridge ice maker. Since Lowe's installation doesn't work with copper tubing and requires a valve to hook up the ice maker line, we needed the copper tubing cut and a valve added to the new end. Ihor from PHHS came and did an excellent job on both tasks! He was able to detach the cabinet lip and cut it outside, so we never heard the loud sawing we expected :-). After installing the cut lip, it measured just right with a little room to space. He cut the copper tubing very cleanly after turning off the water main and installed and tested the valve he bought at Home Depot. Ihor also put down plastic before the work and did a great cleanup job. Our new fridge fit perfectly in the cabinet space and Lowe's installers had a very simple, smooth hookup of the ice maker line to the new valve with their ice maker line installation kit we bought with the fridge.
