Thanks to Yelp, I went to Carpetworks to select carpet and found them helpful, low pressure and informative --then I got cold feet and I sat on the project for a couple of years! When we finally were ready, I revisited Carpetworks plus a couple of other places. Carpetworks had the carpet and color we liked, for the best price (another shop had the exact same thing but would charge us thousands more). The installers did a fabulous job: super efficient and careful, managed the jenga of shuffling our furniture between rooms so the next room was always ready when the installer was ready, cleaned everything up. We just had wall-to-wall carpeting installed this month. But we actually started the estimation process back in Aug-2024. The lengthy process was due to my own delays. This is a long overdue review for Bill at Carpetworks (so sorry Bill) Anyway, the first thing I had done was to change out the carpet in 2 bedrooms. Bill was friendly, great sense of humor and smart! I wanted the same carpet, style and color and he helped me pick several options. I was allowed to bring the samples back to my condo to check the color. After I picked the carpet, we scheduled for installation and he also told me that his men would help move any heavy furniture! Anyway, I'm so pleased with the new carpet and I will definitely have them do the carpet cleaning when I need it. My second purchase was to have the same LVT flooring as the one that was already in my home. My kitchen was being remodeled and the kitchen flooring had to be removed. And since the kitchen is in the same room as the dining and living room, I had to have the same flooring. Once again Bill to the rescue! Bill searched several countries and was able to get it for me. We worked with Chris from Carpetworks to pick out and plan to replace older wood veneer and carpet in our new townhouse with higher quality engineered hardwood floors and could not be happier with the result! Had a great experience with Bill at Carpetworks. I was looking for just two replacement boxes as we're removing a wall. Unfortunately for us, the particular model was on back order everywhere, and would likely come a bit later than we would need it. Bill tracked down some boxes that had been placed on hold but wouldn't be needed until a few months later and got them shipped pronto. We bought a new home in Redwood City and wanted to recarpet the three bedrooms before moving, but didn't know where to start. We made an appointment to check out their showroom and met with Chris, who was knowledgeable but not pushy. He gave us real advice and was not trying to upsell us on something we didn't need. We eventually received carpet samples and made a choice. Most of our communication was with Tim, and he came and measured while we were closing escrow and had his team ready to go before we moved in. He provided us with continuous updates on when the carpet would arrive and got everything scheduled at a time that was convenient for us before moving in. Great customer service. A family-owned business. I bought an 8x10 rug pad from Chris, who helped me cut the carpet padding into the 8x10 size I wanted. I got it home and realized my rug was 9x12. (I mean, who measures their big a** rugs?!) DOH! In utter disbelief my brain fart was so big, I called Chris to tell him. He was understanding and offered to cut the rest of the dimensions I needed to make up the 9x12 AND he sent me home with a roll of carpet tape to tape the pad together! What service! My 9x12 rug is now fully padded length and widthwise and no body has to know about the embarrassingly ditzy move I made. Chris was quick, responsive, & willing to take the time out for my very small flooring project. He always responded quickly to our communications and responsibly followed-through on the action items. In the end I had a gorgeous laminate installed at what seems like a reasonable price. It was installed quickly and perfectly, so easy and convenient. They only sent two guys for the whole upstairs including moving furniture. They showed up an hour and a half late, when I was waiting for them and didn't finish till 9 PM and didn't clean up properly. Chris came by for a complimentary assessment of carpets for three bedrooms in the new home we purchased. Though the carpets were fairly new and in good condition, the prior owners didn't take care of them and so there were stains everywhere... Chris quoted me very reasonable prices for both cleaning and carpet replacement (which his company does too). Then he suggested that we give cleaning a shot, since he was fairly confident he could get most everything out, and thus save me the money of replacing the carpets. He did a good job (though not all the stains were able to be removed) and was both very diligent and efficient about the cleaning. Friendly, honest guy. Let me start with my case: for 158 sf of laminate,the cost is $1695. That's about $10/sf. Yes,it is very expensive. But I didn't realize it until I decided to use laminate instead of carpet in the hallway. I had all 4 bedrooms in carpet, while living room,family room and dining room are in laminate. But the hallway was changed from carpet to laminate after I signed the paper and paid $7000 cash down. That's where the additional $1695 came in and made me to reexamine the charges. The workers started the job but left halfway because PG&E had a scheduled electricity shut off for one hour in 2 different time frame,which I notified Chris well in advance by email. But Chris forgot to let his workers know, so it created confusion, chaos and job delay. I also had some issues with the laminate step edge. They didn't do it right the first time. The edges are rough and unfinished. After complaining with pictures, Chris defended himself by saying that laminate isn't wood, the cut is supposed to be rough like that. But finally he agreed to send workers to redo it. It proved one thing to me: he needs to improve the actual installation knowledge. Not a totally pleasant experience with CarpetWorks. read more

We needed new carpets installed in the house and were looking for more "green" options. Chris helped pick out a few lines of carpet that he thought would meet our needs. He was very patient throughout the process and even found a way to special order the carpet we wanted. It would take about 7-10 days to order the carpet and then a day to install. It took literally three days for the carpet to arrive and Chris' team was available to install the next day. We love our new carpet. The installers did a great job and worked efficiently. In the end, we had about 3 sq. ft of extra carpet. Nice to know I wasn't overpaying and ending up with excess carpet. We also found his prices to be quite competitive. read more

Carpetworks cleaned our twelve-year-old carpets this week, following a complete repainting of the interior of the house (done by another company, natch). Chris was on-time for both the estimate and the cleaning appointment and completed the cleaning (about 700 square feet of carpet) in around two hours. He was good about explaining what he was doing (I'm curious) and very careful around the newly-painted corners and baseboards. Because of the painting we'd just had done, there was very little furniture in the rooms, except one very heavy sleeper sofa. Chris moved the sofa and cleaned under it as well.
