While the truck itself was in mint condition, the fuel gauge wasn't 100% accurate, so despite me thinking, I had a quarter of a tank left, I actually had next to nothing left. I found this out the hard way as I sat on the side of a busy freeway, questioning my life choices. You see, apparently, when diesel vehicle runs out of fuel, it's a big no-no. It's not like a gas vehicle running out of fuel--you can't just put fuel back in the tank and then start it back up. Diesels are a bit different as air gets trapped in the fuel pump system, and requires a bit of work to get things back up and going again. Long story short, I found this out the hard way on my way to work, but by the grace of God, it happened in the vicinity of G & R, and after calling them up (as they were the nearest diesel repair shop) and speaking with Derek, I knew I was in good hands. He got me up and running in literal minutes (I wasn't even late to work) and he checked my motor out as well just for the hell of it. The kicker is, he didn't charge me a dime. I kept offering to pay because I was so thankful, but Derek is a solid dude and told me to just bring it back if it ever encounters a real problem--"that's how I could thank him", he said. That said, I had to take the time to at least let other people know how solid this place is. They could've easily made something up, or even upsold me on something the truck may not have really needed at the given time, but Derek saw me in a rough spot, and really took care of me, and that just goes to show the honesty and integrity these people have. Super thankful for you, Derek, and I'll be sure to bring Big Blue back should I really need to, sir!

I had to point out the coupon says "printed or mobile". There must have been some misunderstanding because who shows a coupon before paying??? Reply back from CalWest Auto that fixed our car: Freon was low causing AC compressor not to turn on. No obvious leaks and passed a 20 min vacuum test. Serviced with leak dye. We have a Freon sniffer and checked in the vents and found nothing so it has been filled up and works great and is warranted for a year. I always recommend returning in a month or so for an inspection on all seals since the new compressor oil has leak dye in it and you can get a very slow leak from the seals. --------------- Super disappointed by this place. Went to get my dads A/C looked at and they said that they had to take the dash out, fix a leak in the coils, had to call to get the replacements. The total cost? $1,900. Then on the appointed time, (a week and a half later) their mechanic couldn't make it due to family emergency. Something seemed off. We went to another place to get it looked at and it was NOT what they had said. I'm upset because I didn't think places like this existed where they just try to scam you out of your money. I'm sure this place does great for other things but be weary. If you need the cost estimate they sent to us versus the new place (go to Cal West Auto in San Marcos btw) I'll send the paperwork your way. Trust that you should not go here.
