Another round in the sky!!! Couldn't resist the adrenaline - back at it again, this time with the wife by my side! Skydiving over San Diego ... nothing compares to that rush, the dream, and the freedom of flying. Andy and Rosie run an awesome crew... Kudos again to Simeon, and my spouse's instructor - Larry. Tried to "upgrade" with my own goggles... yeah, bad idea. They slipped the whole way down and basically wrecked the jump video . Lesson learned. Oh well - memories over footage! ‍

$193.37 total paid for 1 weekday tandem skydive ---- Cost Breakdown: - advertised as $179 weekday jump, $189 for weekend jump - $193.37 total paid after taxes and fees - Pay online deposit of $59 ($50 deposit + $9 booking fee) - $134.37 paid at the location ($129 remaining + $5.37 (9.6% tax)) Add-ons: - Pictures $69 - Videos $89 - Both $99 You're able to decide if you want the pics and videos after the jump as well ---- Skydiving has always been on my bucket list and this year for my birthday I decided to do it! I was super excited and wasn't afraid at all but if you are scared, they'll put you at ease. I jumped with Simeon and he was fantastic. He's very funny and was cracking jokes the whole time to make you feel comfortable. The jumpers have a lot of experience too, so there's no need to feel worried or scared. ---- How it worked: - The process is arrive 30 minutes early from the booking time - Go thru the gate, they text you the code either the day before or the morning of - Park and walk up to the seating area and building where you are greeted by the staff and jumpers - You fill out liability forms and sign waivers - Then you pay the remaining amount - Next they put the harness on you and then trained on what to do when you jump - Then they film some footage of you, walk to the plane, and take off - They film bits and pieces throughout the entire process like during the walk to the plane, on the plane ride up, and on the jump down - You fly up for a few minutes maybe like 10ish minutes, maybe less? During the flight they pointed out some places like the Mexico border and some prisons, they also open up the door so you can get a better view - It's very, very loud on the plane especially when they open the door, so if possible I'd ask if they have ear plugs or if you can bring your own - Once you reach closer to the altitude, they attach onto your harness, put on the goggles, then they open the door and you jump! - They let you steer the parachute a little bit and you can do spins, but if your like me and get motion sickness I'd recommend taking some medicine before hand or skip the spins haha - On the landing, you keep your legs up until they tell you to walk/run - On the ground, they detach from you, remove the harness, then you hop into their van to drive a couple minutes back to the building area you arrived at - They compile the footage from their GoPros into a short video to preview which took a few minutes - You have the option to buy the photos and videos at the end of the jump or if you want to decide later, they say they save all the footage just in case ---- My only gripe is that the plane ride up was reallyyy loud and I have sensitive ears, they didn't give any protection like ear plugs unfortunately, so my ears were hurting a bit during the ride :( beside that everything was very quick and great ---- Other notes: - The entire process from arrival to finishing watching the videos of the jump was around an hour - They said be prepared to spend 2 hours there but I think that's if there are larger groups of jumpers, we had the 10am appointment and were the first ones there so it was really quick - In their waiting area there's a lot of tables and a ping pong table as well - There are 2 bathrooms available and a water dispenser if you're thirsty ---- Overall: A fun experience to check off the bucket list, there's no reason to be scared, great staff and jumpers, ask about ear protection tho! Shoutout to Simeon :)

Wonderful Experience at Pacific Coast Skydiving The team was friendly, communicative, and safety-focused. They kept us updated on weather and treated us like friends. The vibe was joyful and welcoming, perfect for my daughter's first jump. Highly recommend!

AMAZING! Staff was great! Everyone was so friendly and upbeat, which made the experience a lot less scary for me. This was my first time skydiving and I'm so happy I chose to go with PCS! James and Dylan were absolutely awesome and hilarious and straight up, i just had the best time. I would go again no doubt 10/10.

This was an amazing experience that I had the privilege to share with my two daughters! From the moment we arrived we have been warmly greeted and welcomed by the crew and Andy, the owner, kindly and funnily explained us what would have happened. Flying up was great as we could see the Mexican border, the mountains, downtown San Diego and the ocean before heading back to reach the desired altitude. Adrenaline was at the top and Andy guided me and the jump was amazing. I highly recommend this place if you want to have a one in a lifetime experience. Thank you Andy and to all the team!

This is the 2nd year in a row that I jumped with Pacific Coast and it was amazing. Everyone was friendly, helpful and just made it fun. They spend plenty of time making sure you know what to expect, and the jump crew is world class! I jumped with Sim both times and he makes it fun too! The view to the drop zone was 2nd to none with Mexico on the left side of the plane and the San Diego skyline on the right.

Came in yesterday very anxious but the staff made me feel so comfortable right away! Everything from the check-in, all the way to the landing was super easy and I couldn't have asked for a better first experience. Dylan was great at cracking jokes to calm the nerves and answered all 100 of my questions with no hesitation. I even got my photos and video back the same day! I would recommend this place to anyone considering skydiving. I will definitely be back. Thank you so much again for my making my birthday unforgettable!!

I'm so glad we went with Pacific Sky Diving for my boyfriend's birthday. I had plenty of options to choose from, but went with the most highly rated spot on yelp since I had no idea what I was signing myself up for. We were incredibly satisfied with our experience & can't wait to check out their location in Hawaii! We arrived about an hour early to get checked in & it was busy, which was no surprise since it was Labor Day weekend. The staff worked diligently to get everyone checked in & set-up with harnesses/gear. Considering how early we got there, we assumed that we would have to wait until the scheduled dive time, but they ended up calling us earlier than expected, which was pretty awesome because no one likes to wait. For our dive instructors, we got Jamie & Lucas, who were right-off-the-bat super friendly & made the entire experience much more memorable. They were both so helpful & light-hearted which definitely allowed for us to build instant rapport & trust and kept the nerves from building. Jumping out of a plane with a stranger can be nerve racking, but Jamie & Lucas did a great job easing any worries & best of all- MADE IT FUN! Added bonus- we bought videos and received it the same night! Love how quickly they were able to turn it around. If you plan on purchasing a video, make sure you come prepared to pick 3 songs for your before the jump, free fall, and gliding!

Ask the Community - Pacific Coast Skydiving

Can my family watch from DZ?

Yes, you can bring as many people to watch you jump

Can we wear our glasses when we jump?

Unless you have a skydiving helmet to put over your glasses, then no. They provide goggles.

If I do the video, are pictures are included?

No. They are separate. I just bought the video and did screen shots for my pictures. Jump was 169. And the video was 59. And AMAZING

How early in advance should I rsvp?

Really depends on the day ,but will be safe I always say a week in advance . That way you have plenty of spots to choose from

How long does the free fall last? And how long approx is the entire jump?

The entire experience from the time you get there to the time you are back at your car was bout 1.5 hour. The going up the air and then jumping about 6-9 minutes, and the actual jump about 1 minute. That's what I remember - everything goes too fast.…

Does anyone know how I can save the video from the CD on my Mac? i'd like to upload some of it to my instagram..

I tried to do the same to no avail

Is this... heaven...??? This view is top 5 job dropping views of my life. If you find yourself in…read moresd then you MUST GO to this spot. It's crazy beautiful and peaceful. I felt like I was transported. I didn't get to the activity unfortunately but it looks beautiful to try! They have tons of parking and cafe for a relaxing day. The top time to go is sunset!!

Torrey Pines Gliderport is definitely one of those "you should try this at least once" experiences…read more We came on a beautiful sunny day, and the flight itself was surprisingly calming. It's not like skydiving or bungee jumping where it's all adrenaline and dope. This felt more like borrowing a bird's point of view for 20 minutes. You're just floating along the cliffs, riding the wind, with the ocean on one side and the coastline stretching out below. The views are unreal. You get Black's Beach below! Yes, the clothing-optional one. And then farther down, the multi-million-dollar La Jolla homes that make you question your life choices. LOL. Depending on the wind, the route can vary, but that's part of the charm. My instructor was mostly quiet, which was fine, but I would have appreciated a little more narration or pointing things out. My wife's instructor, on the other hand, was much more lively and even let her steer the glider a couple of times. So your experience may depend a bit on who you fly with. Either way, the flight itself was great, and both instructors got us back safely and smoothly. A small side note: we saw the tipping guide inside the office only after the flight. In retrospect, I think we overtipped - but hey, the instructors seemed happy, so all good. Now, for the things you don't always see in the pretty Yelp reviews. Parking is mostly on an unpaved, bumpy, dusty lot. You can park on pavement along the side streets, but that means parallel parking and a bit of a walk. The waiver process was also a big "whoa." I've done plenty of risky activities before, but this felt like pages of cover-your-butt paperwork, with us signing and initialing almost every single line instead of just signing once and clicking through. Also, be aware that some grassy areas are apparently off-limits. My family and I were taking photos there, not realizing we weren't supposed to be, and we got shooed away pretty hard. I get that there are safety rules, especially around active gliders, but clearer signage would help a lot. And if there was signage, it was difficult to notice with the crowd hanging around Cliff Hanger. And yes, the restroom situation is porta-potties only. On the day we visited, there wasn't even water available for handwashing, so bring sanitizer. Overall, the actual flight was memorable, scenic, and peaceful. The setup around it is a little rough around the edges, but the experience itself is worth doing once, especially on a sunny San Diego day. For the views alone, it's hard to beat floating over the cliffs of Torrey Pines.

My son 13-year-old like to do a lot of adventures. So we surprised him with a Blood Pumpin thrill…read moreride " FLY YOUR PLANE " I called him to come home right away and said that he was still GOLFING with his Dad. I just said okay then I will cancel our " THE AFTERBURNER FLIGHT ". The moment he heard it, I heard him yelling, Dad packed it up, mom called. They came home to hug me and says let's go, mom. So we arrive at the place in EL CAJON SAN DIEGO and saw a lot of planes but we were instructed to wait outside for safety reasons because there were a lot of planes coming in and out and only get in when a PILOT comes to pick us up. we CHOSE the FLIGHT called .... "AFTERBURNER FLIGHT " ... it's a flight you can "FLY YOUR PLANE", take control and Maneuver it with the supervision of course of a Highly trained Pilot. When it's my son's turn to fly, we are greeted by a very nice Pilot. The FIRST thing we did was go to the briefing room with our Pilot where we watch the Safety and Rules while Flying. I was too nervous while my son was getting ready and my son was just relaxed and have this big smile like he is so excited about it. We watch them start flying out until they just disappeared from our sight. A couple of hours later they came back and my son start talking about the different kinds of Exhibitions they did. Some examples of what they did were: *The inside loop *The outside loop *The Aileron Roll *The Tailside *Stall Turn * Falling Leaf My son was very Happy about his flight and says: "BEST EXPERIENCE to FLY a PLANE" and did "Stunts" in the air. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND this company to everyone! Also, do not ever leave this place without Purchasing your FLIGHT PHOTOS and VIDEOS. It's all worth it!

I was familiar with the Torrey Pines Gliderport but didn't know that Warner Springs had an area for sailplanes/gliders. A glider is a fixed-wing aircraft that is supported in flight by the dynamic reaction of the air against its lifting surfaces, and whose free flight does not depend on an engine. Normally a sailplane relies on rising air to maintain altitude. So we made a date out of it. We booked our flight at 10AM on Saturday, September 16th. On the drive there, we were a bit apprehensive as the mountains were cloudy and it was somewhat drizzling, but after exiting and we reached Warner Springs it was bright and sunny. As we were parking, we saw a view of several sailplanes/gliders. Walking inside, we were immediately welcomed by one of their staff - Piper. Piper was a big dark brown golden retriever with flashes of golden, SUPER friendly, and immediately went on her tummy for rubs. The interior was decorated with cloths with notations of those completed their first flight of flying. There was an area for kids to play in, some bar stools around, and a seating area right next to the bathroom. They also had a cat strolling around, doing its own thing. The bathroom had a wall of interesting tidbits, so be careful if you go in! You may be in there for a while reading them. We got checked in and the kind lady (possibly Donna?) working the desk let us know that Garret will be with us in a few minutes as he was finishing up another flight. We saw a few people fly their first plane out or were taking lessons. While we were waiting, Piper kept us company with asks for pats. When it was our turn, the lady gave us a camera for Garret/his colleague (whose name I forgot) to hook on to the plane, and we walked on out to go on our 30 minute flight. For our reservation purchase, it is for the ride and also for an SD card for the memory of the flight. If you were flying just on your own, you get the opportunity of flying the sailplane under the supervision of the pilot in the front. Since there was two of us, they had to take the controls out from the back. Our pilot, Garret, helped us get into our seating space, and buckled us in, as well as giving us instructions on where we can get air during the ride. We were a cozy squeeze in the back, while Garret was in the front. His colleague helped to ensure we were towed by a plane ahead. It was an amazing view, and a bit surreal to have flown up. Garret and my husband conversed, and he asked a lot of questions. We had minor turbulence. My husband got to disconnect us from the other plane and we were gliding in the air. I did end up bringing a gift to the ground, as I had just a banana for breakfast - which was probably too acidic for the ride. Garret also checked that I was comfortable before he brought us on a fast loop dive (which I've only seen in movies), it was something else to actually experience it. We had the opportunity of flying with Garret Willat. Garret represented the US Open Class team in 2008 and 2010 and the Club Class team in 2014. And he has won 3 US National Championships. I would recommend that if you're looking to do, and you're not afraid of heights/rides, check out Sky Sailing. And for food, check out Jeremy's on a Hill! They have a reservation system and I would suggest that you get food if you had nothing left in your body if you also bought back a gift. Or just Julian after, super close!
