Sammy -- the instructor who helped us -- was incredibly patient, calm, and hands-on the entire time. He took the time to work with Kamden, helped him feel safe, and supported him through every step. We recently celebrated my son's 13th birthday at this venue, and the experience was outstanding. Both kids and parents had a fantastic time. Upon arrival, guests were given wristbands and directed to the fitting area for suits and helmets. Each flight was preceded by personalized instruction. While food was not provided, the venue offered ample seating and allowing us to bring our own birthday cake. Instructor Elijah was outstanding, showcasing impressive flying skills and gifting my son an additional round of high flight as a birthday gesture, that was really nice of him to do that. Thank you! I took an advantage of their weekdays $89 deal per person with 2flights each. Weekends, it's $109 so you get a little saving. What an incredible experience! This was our first time indoor skydiving, and I can confidently say it will definitely not be our last. The entire experience felt very safe, well-organized, and exciting from start to finish. I went with my son, and sharing that moment together made it even more special. Looking for a new adventure in San Diego, we came across iFly, which is an indoor flying experience through a wind tunnel. Overall it was a memorable experience. It's suitable for all ages. They have package deals online. It's easy to purchase and make reservations on their website. The price includes all the gear rental, flying experience, media package (if you purchased), and a certificate of completion. The price roughly comes out to $90 per person. The instructors were all cool, professional, helpful, and kind. A few notes: - although the media package includes pictures and video, I'd recommend you bring someone who is not flying to capture your experience. Some of our pictures were blurry or didn't have a great angle. You are not allowed to have your phone during your experience even while sitting on the bench. - each experience is only 1 minute which goes by very quick. When they say you have 10 flying opportunities that's 10 minutes. It's pricey but worth the experience at least once. read more

The staff at iFly were genuinely friendly and professional. Everyone we interacted with was kind, patient, and clearly experienced at guiding first-timers through the process. The instructors did a good job making people feel comfortable. That said, the overall experience felt very short relative to the cost. One minute of flight time goes by incredibly fast -- by the time you start getting used to the sensation, it's already over. For the price, I expected something that felt a bit more substantial or immersive. The "high fly" portion was the most interesting part of the experience. Without that element, it really does feel like what it technically is: a large wind tunnel. One small note: there didn't seem to be a clear hand signal for "stop," which felt like something that could be useful for first-time flyers who might get overwhelmed. I was really looking forward to this experience, but it ended in disappointment. I paid $228, including $20 for a video recording that was never taken. After waiting for hours, I was sent a video that wasn't even mine. When I followed up, they simply said "Sorry, we didn't record yours," and offered to refund the $20. That's it. This was something I truly wanted to remember, and had I known their system could fail like this, I would've brought someone with me to record it myself. On top of that, my 4-year-old son got scared and didn't fly -- which they acknowledged -- but I received no voucher or follow-up despite what I was told at the location. I tried contacting them right away and heard nothing for days. For a premium experience, this level of service is completely unacceptable. I've always hated the feeling of free-fall which has deterred me from sky-diving, but after hearing rave reviews from family members who visited another iFLY location out of state, I wanted to give it a try for my and my dad's birthdays, as I felt it was the closest we could experience without having to feel that gut-dropping free-fall feeling. After lots of research, I learned that you just hover a few feet above the ground in your first sessions, and only go up higher when purchasing a high-flight add-on, and can only or do flips/tricks if you come back and actually train through their levels. I also knew the flights were short before booking. I booked discounted flights for outside of peak hours, and saw in the FAQs that the experience would be up to 1hr, 45 min so I planned for all of that time, and even though we didn't start on time because the previous group was still going and then a training session, we were still done before the hour and 45 min mark. The training videos and faqs were helpful so we were well prepared. I came with a group of 4, booked two flights for two, and four flights for two. Knowing my dad was a bit squeamish, I thought he'd be able to handle it and booked two flights for him, but after watching the previous group for a bit, he decided to pass on the experience. The staff let us transfer his two flights to another member in our group, but I did the math later and realized if I had just booked 4 flights per person x 3 people, which was how it ended up, it would have been $25 less. I understand it is the business' right to not offer refunds, and was appreciative that we were allowed to transfer the flights between people, but I do wish we could have been allowed to use that $25 that I overpaid toward the high-flight experience, which two of us ended up purchasing ($40). The three of us now had 4 flights each and the staff suggested breaking them into 3 slightly longer flights each instead (number of total flight time seconds would be the same), which we agreed to. Our flight instructor Eddie was really friendly, knowledgeable, and helped make the experience as relaxing as possible. We got suited up and had a good time watching the groups before us go. We were called into the tunnel waiting area and it was just our group of three which was nice. My dad stayed out and was allowed to watch and take videos from right outside the tunnel. I wasn't nervous at all, but once I got in the tunnel, I felt like I couldn't get a good breath of air (breathing through nose only with mouth closed) and started to feel anxiety and panic settle in. I was able to still follow the directions and experience the hovering sensation, but my mind was distracted by the uncomfortable sensation of the high pressure wind on my face and my inability to breathe comfortably. I was ready to get out of the tunnel before the timer was up. After my second flight, I got a bit more comfortable and the instructor clearly demonstrated how to control movements forward and backward, and spin a little. I decided to add on the high-flight on my third flight just to get more variety out of the experience. By the third flight, I was able to breathe more naturally and relax when hovering in place, but once we got to the high flight, I just felt the sensation of inability to breathe again. I figure that for some people, it may just take more exposure to get used to and to be able to breathe comfortably. Others may adapt quickly and have no issues. The other two in my group had an awesome experience and had no issues breathing (one has done two sky dives before). Overall, I had a great experience here, and would recommend it! My only feedback would be if someone decides to completely pass on the experience after booking, allow others in the group to use the overage paid toward other flight upgrades. Knowing my dad was hesitant, I wish I hadn't booked him just in case he wanted to bail, if I would have known how easy it would be to add flights for him once we got there. read more

I've been taking my kids to this establishments for a few years maybe two. I bought packages and my kids have enjoyed. I had an extra prepaid one and decided to take my 8yr old but I was disappointed this time. She had a prepaid 4 session with a high fly which is an extra twenty for a minute of high flying. When we get there all seemed good but they added her to a group where a kid and other adults got 3 minutes of flying with an instructor. It was fine and all until it was my kids turn. The main instructor was pulled off and another guy dressed in black jumps in and takes over. Then she only gets 3 out of the 4 paid flight sessions and when it came to the high fly she only got 30 seconds because the same thing happened. Another instructor jumps in to take over. It was a bit of a disappointment to say the least. The other two times we have been there she gets the entire sessions. This time she was cut short. I know it's 30 seconds but we did pay for an entire minute of high flying. I don't know if they changed management, training new instructors but this whole switching of instructors middle flight does not look good. It's like the other instructor was doing a poor job and the main instructor had to jump in. Very disorganized. read more

Drove down to San Diego on a Sunday and saw this place off the freeway. Decided it might be cool and dropped in (get it?)..talked to the staff and learned they had an opening in an hour or so, and booked it! They asked a bunch of medical questions and now I understand why-it really is work on your body-even just to hold your arms out for a minute against the super strong winds. The staff are informative and the instructor was awesome and was very aware as it was his job to make sure everyone was safe and don't break themselves or the tunnel. We took turns doing a minute each, the rest time in between helped a lot. I'd suggest getting the full face helmet-makes it much more enjoyable and comfortable, even with glasses! Also get the high flying option. It feels neat to go up and down. If you can, watch some people do it and you can see the difference. My last visit to IFLY in Mission Valley in San Diego disappointed me because I felt insecure and unsafe during the flight, like a falling plane. I already had experience with IFLY and knew how to feel secure while "really good" high-fly. On 08/26/2023, during my high flight, my body was bending because the coach and I were at different levels of moving, and he was flying below my level and pulled my body to the inside of the circle. Relying on that fact, my body was not straight, but an arc and created centrifuge force. That situation was frightening for me. I think it happened because the airflow capacity was different in the tube. I am an engineer and can realize it. I have the photos to prove my situation during fly. There is one weird thing - the crew did not put a video record of my high fly on the site. Why? I talked with the manager about my dissatisfaction with the flight. However, he said that it was an ordinary situation, nothing bad. My opinion is the opposite. read more

One of my kids went to a birthday party so I didn't actually fly but I watched the entire thing unfold and he had a Blast. This place is pretty incredible in that it allows a person to experience skydiving without jumping out of a plane. They basically have an instructor go through all the signals, what to do, you get in your flight suit, get ear plugs, helmet, and goggles, and then you go in and you fly. The kids at this birthday party were really excited and had a great time--each had two 1 minute 40 second flights and the second flight had a high-fly segment over the final 30 seconds. They ended up getting a certificate and codes to download a video and photo from their flights. It is probably something they'll always remember. --------TL;DR-------- PROS: you can skydive without jumping out of a plane or worrying about a parachute. An instructor keeps you safe the whole time. CONS: it's over fairly quickly BOTTOM LINE: I'm sure I am going to come back myself to try this at least once. My kid really loved it! read more

Holy cannoli! We had the best time ever. I surprised my husband for his birthday! He loved it! The staff are awesome and friendly people. We also had an awesome group. There is no judgment you are bound to look a little silly with the air blasting you. No one cares, who cares, go and have fun. Everyone is clapping for each other and giving high fives. I highly highly recommend adding on the high flight. This would be a fun hobby to take on but expensive. The staff have the best job! I do wish they had a membership. If you have long hair put your hair in a braid or low bun tightly secured. I left mine in a low ponytail and it got tangled. That was my mistake. It was awkward. I was gifted a voucher for 4 flights that can be shared between 1-2 people, video and 2 high flys. I had never looked into the place. Had 0 expectations. I was disappointed when i found out that one flight is one minute. It is what it is. We got put into a group where the other people had more flights (4 flights per person). It was awkward because we HAD to sit and wait for the others to finish all of their flights before we could leave. Then they expected us to sit their so the instructor could get a turn...? We were the last group of the day... could the instructor just not fly on his own time? Also no one mentioned any video. So i dont know if I'm going to get email footage or if its a lost cause. Honestly it was hard to breath and I was focusing on all the hand movements and didn't enjoy the flight. I'd say do it once and never again. read more

However, the scheduling definitely screwed up our Christmas day!!!! We had a class scheduled for 1pm, I was told when I scheduled this appointment to arrive 20 mins early... So We showed up at 12:45... We sat in there & waited until 1:35 before I walked up to them & asked what was going on... Soul informed me that it could be up to 1.5 hours from appointment time until fly time... Which makes absolutely no sense at all. We should have definitely been in our training session at 1pm & flying no later then 1:30... So I told them I need to reschedule & I was just told to Call anytime after today to reschedule. Unfortunately did not have a quality experience here. I had once prior done about 10min at an iFly, told the instructor that, but she didn't seem to care. She did not give me a chance to get comfortable, then placed me on the floor where the air flow was turned down so much, I was scrapping the floor in circles. She did this for almost 2.5min. I then explained how I did not want to continue and she belittled me in front of the other guests and asked if it were her fault and attempted to argue with me to convince me to continue. I emailed Sean C., the GM, but he decided to not respond to both emails, as if sweeping this scenario under the rug would go away. I would suggest investing your money into fun elsewhere. read more

My sister got two 1-minute flights as one of her Girl Scout cookie rewards and had an absolute blast! They had pizza, salads, soda, keurig cups, soda, bottled water, and Capri sun for us in the party room. It was really nice and we're seriously considering it for a kids birthday party! We arrived about 15 minutes early for our flight appointment time, signed the waivers from check in at the foyer front desk, sat and watched other kids have their turn while we ate. Around our appointment time, they called out her name, handed out a printed bracelet with barcode for my sister, and whisked her back for gear up and ground school (hand signals). They fitted her in a jumpsuit with goggles that she wore glasses under, a helmet, and ear plugs. When she went in, she was lined up on these benches and waited her turn. Each girl got two 1-minute flights. The first flight was to get their balance and the second flight they got to go up with their instructor. She LOVED it! All of the instructors and staff were so great! Right away at the front check in desk, the guy there really connected with my sister, who was a nervous wreck! A few jokes in, they had exchanged a few fun facts about each other and brought her nerves down a lot! All of the instructors were so perceptive to the needs, struggles, and abilities of each child that they worked with! Even the tunnel controller that took care of safety and video was a help with some of the girls! So much positively in the whole experiences and my sister was absolutely hooked by the end of it! For the people that aren't flying, there are plenty of seating options from couch benches around the room to little stools right up against the glass of the flight tube. There is also free WiFi and plenty of outlets. It isn't quiet by any means in there, so it may be a struggle to get any work done. They offer ladies night, birthday parties, summer camps, group events, etc. All of their instructors are very helpful and kind and do an awesome exhibition between each group! So fun to watch! I bought return flight tickets to use on myself. I've included pictures of their prices and here is how it works. First time flights cost a ton... return flights are cheaper, can be used anytime, and can be used by anyone... but they have to be purchased before you leave or you'll be charged the first time flight prices again. I tried asking if I could buy the return flight costs later by phone, in person, or online, but they said no. I'm guessing it is to prevent every guest from just purchasing at their return flight pricing. They require at least two minutes per flyer, so you can split up the minutes you purchase on a flight package between multiple people. So, they said if I wanted, a whole family of 5 can fly on a 10 minute package! I ended up buying a 6 minute return package that can be split between up to two people and I might just use all six minutes for myself!
