Rented jet skis here and had a fun time overall. The rental office is located behind the hotel, so if you just follow the address it will take you to the hotel entrance. You can walk through the hotel to get there. we parked across the street for free. We had a 10:00 AM reservation and arrived about 15 minutes late. Between checking in, the safety briefing, and waiting for our turn, we didn't actually get on the jet skis until around 10:55 AM. It seemed like they were a little short staffed, so the whole process took longer than I expected. They did honor our full one hour ride, which I appreciated, but it started much later than I had planned. The jet skis themselves were in good condition and we were able to get them up to around 40 mph. They also have waterproof storage compartments, which were perfect for keeping our phones safe while we were out on the water. I'd recommend arriving early if you have a reservation so you have plenty of time for check in and the safety instructions. read more

The jet ski experience itself was great. The water was smooth, we had plenty of room to ride around, and the views were phenomenal. However, what made the overall experience poor was the customer service from both the receptionist and the guide, especially the guide. The guide had a very snarky attitude toward my group and another group. His explanation of how to operate the jet ski felt rushed, and when my friend asked a question, he responded rudely and acted like the answer should have been obvious. We simply asked what would happen if the jet ski flipped, since he mentioned that it was a possibility. His response was, "There are instructions on the bottom, don't let them sink." Not to mention he wore a hood the entire time, barely looked up at us, and had his back turned to us for basically the entirety of the 5 min introduction. I get that the talk is repetitive and I don't expect anything grand, but simple eye contact and a little bit of care in it would go a long way. Considering this was my first time on a jet ski, it would have been better to receive a response with more care, urgency, and clear safety guidance, especially when discussing the possibility of flipping a heavy machine in the middle of the bay. Although the views were beautiful and the ride itself was enjoyable I feel like that's to be expected, this is not an experience I would want to return to because of the poor quality of customer service and lack of care from the staff. read more

I don't normally leave reviews, but this is worth warning others about. We rented two jet skis. One worked perfectly; the other was capped at 5 mph the entire time, even well outside the no-wake zone where it should've run at full speed. Within 10 minutes we noticed we were taking on water and couldn't drain it without speed -- a real safety issue. We turned back and reported it to the manager on duty, who checked his system and said we just hadn't gone out far enough. We went out again, to the middle of San Diego Bay, at least half a mile from shore and nowhere near boats -- the other ski hit full speed easily out there. Ours stayed capped at 5 mph. By the time we got back in, our session was nearly over. We asked for our time back or a different ski. He refused, and first claimed he didn't recall us reporting it 30 minutes earlier. He then pulled up his tracking app and said it showed us reaching full speed, which wasn't true. We had timestamped video from the water showing the throttle held at max with no speed increase and no boats or shore nearby. When we showed him, he backed off that claim but still refused a refund or credit. We asked for someone above him and got a number for management. We've called, texted, and emailed repeatedly -- every call goes to voicemail, no response. Leaving this review is the only way I can warn others. We have clear video evidence the ski didn't perform, created a safety issue, and that staff gave us false info to deny the claim. Disappointing experience made worse by management ignoring us. We ended up paying $20 to park at hotel and were late. We should have called earlier, but better instructions would have helped also. Celebrated my birthday in San Diego, and hubby said lets jet ski. We are so happy we chose Luxury Jet Ski Rentals. Booking was simple. We purchased an hour for two jet skis. Once we arrived, we paid for parking at the marina, which was about $2 per hour. They have signs up to indicate where the jet ski booth is located. There were no crazy deposit price points. You literally just book your time, which was $50 every 30minutes. If you want insurance, they offer $15 for 75% coverage and $10 for 50% coverage. This is subject to change i'm sure, but this is what we were offered during time of service. Ali helped us with our paper work, and took us down to the docks. He gave us specific instructions on where not to go on our route. There is an active military presence on the bay, so be careful. After we left the canal, we booked it down to the Coronado Bridge. There definitely needs to be better signage or clearer instructions on how to get back to the bay area because it can get confusing while you're out riding. Please go here! You won't be disappointed! Easy to find down near the water but harder to park so I would suggest parking in the public park nearby and walking the sidewalk over! I would say a great feature they had was the ability to ride straight off from the dock into the open bay. We were blessed with good water that day where it was flat. It was a bummer that the speeds didn't up to 65 as advertised though. Ours were limited at 50 for top speed on flat water. Great staff. No issues with the price either. Had the ability to upgrade if needed just an fyi. I would recommend doing an hour though because the bay is pretty expansive. read more

I was super excited to ride a jet ski for the first time, but the terrible customer service ruined the entire experience. I arrived 15 minutes before my reservation as recommended, but nobody was there. The employee showed up super late with an attitude--no apology, just shouting commands like we were in the army. She then took us to the jet skis, where we were greeted by another worker who acted like he was doing us a favor by letting us ride. Between every instruction, he threatened to cancel our reservation if we didn't follow his exact rules. He even warned us that going faster than 5 mph in the restricted channel would result in an immediate cancellation and trip back to the dock... only for him and the woman to ride their own jet skis at full throttle through that exact restricted area a few minutes later! Rented two jet skis for the day, and one of them wasn't working right from the start. We spent more than half our rental time trying to troubleshoot the issue and calling the number they gave us -- no one ever answered. We went back early to report the problem and were basically dismissed. They tried to claim their tracker showed we were still in the slow zone the whole time, but that's just false -- we were at least 150 meters out in the ocean when the issues started. Since then, I've been trying to get in touch with a manager or the owner, but no luck. They don't even give out a name -- not in person, not on their website, nowhere. It honestly feels like they know their business is shady and hide behind that on purpose. Paid full price, lost half the time, got zero support, and can't get anyone to own up to it.
