This has been our go to Vet probably at least since 2018/2019 and definitely all through Covid. We had switched from another local Vet as we found the pricea creeping and it was something that we just couldn't afford to pay in the long run. I'm almost getting to this point with PCV however, pricing seems to creep a bit. It's generally pretty easy to get an appointment. I generally have one with a tech. The male tech with the beard:mustache I believe is super friendly and nice. Seems very caring with the pets. Front desk staff overall is also very nice. Parking can be a little wonky right out directly in front of the business but there's some spots away that you can just walk within 30 seconds. Boo takes me here 2x/week for his Kidney Care hydration cause at dad's house he screams like he is being slowly eaten by a demon, which is not the case at all. I cannot say enough kind things about this practice. Dr. Scibelli has guided us through terminal illnesses with two dogs. Dr. Gertmanian has helped us with all kinds of doggy craziness like chocolate poisoning and weird soft tissue masses. We recently had to euthanize our dog, and Dr. Scibelli was incredibly reassuring that we made the right decision. I am a healthcare provider and my husband is a paramedic. The doctors and staff at Pacific coast vet are great! they always explain everything. they have been accommodating to us when Rey has been sick and are usually able to squeeze us in. This veterinary team was so compassionate, understanding, and supportive during my dog's final days. When it was finally time to say goodbye to our 16 year old fur baby, they gave us all the time and tissues we needed. They made us 2 sets of her paw prints so each of my children could have a keepsake. Dr. Michelle Murray is not only a talented surgeon, but a kind person who is very loving towards animals. Her and one of her vet technicians graciously came in over Thanksgiving weekend to treat our three-year-old French Bulldog with emergency surgery for a ruptured spinal disc that paralyzed her suddenly. Michelle called with updates regularly, had someone there with her in recovery 24/7, and was very knowledgable and good at explaining her condition and prognosis to us in ways we could understand. She patiently answered our questions and was very thorough. Her bedside manner made a huge difference in our coping with a very traumatic and sudden situation. Most of all her and her staff were just so kind to our girl which helped massively with the situation we were in. It is devastating to see your pet in pain and even more so if you have to cope with an uncertain outcome, as is our case currently. We believe our Frenchie has the best possible chances at walking again now thanks to Michelle and her staff, we wouldn't have wanted anyone else on the planet to take care of or operate on her! A side note that Dr. Scibelli is Ellie's regular vet and they are in the same practice, he also treats his patients with fantastic service and is also very kind and knowledgable. After thousands of dollars on tests for everything under the sun and not having a diagnosis I decided to do my own research. I diagnosed my dogs thyroid problem. They couldn't figure out what was wrong with him. Really? I'm not a Dr and I figured it out based on his symptoms. I felt completely taken advantage of. We spent thousands on vet visits, tests, prescriptions, etc. over a 1 year period. They did nothing, no diagnosis, no apology and certainly no refunds. We thought our dog was dying because he was SO sick. It was one gut wrenching visit after another because he was so sick and we weren't getting a diagnosis. They just wanted us to schedule ANOTHER appointment and have MORE tests done. WORST VET EVER!!!! read more

I can't say enough good things about this vet! It was a great experience from start to finish. The front desk team member who answered my call and got me an appointment as a new patient the very next day was so nice. We let them know that we recently adopted our dog Bradley and he is not the best around other dogs, and sometimes new people. He also pees a little when he gets nervous. They were so understanding and made sure that he was comfortable and had a great first vet experience. He LOVED the whole team! His tail was wagging the whole time, he went back with them in a different room without a problem and he seemed sad to leave his new friends. They were dog people to the core and he could tell! They were very helpful in suggesting treatments and also helping us break the bill up onto multiple visits so we didn't have to unload our whole bank account in one day. They even offered for us to bring Bradley by and walk him through the waiting room whenever we wanted, just to get him use to coming to the vet. I woukd highly, highly recommend PCVH! read more

Dr.Gertiminian and Vawny were absolutely fantastic to my dog Zeke. Zeke is a rescue who had a tough life before we took him in and because of that he has some trauma. Vawny was great with Zeke and they were just super helpful. Zeke is a pit-bull and they have a stigma. This office was absolutely fantastic. We switched to this practice after deciding the other vet was no longer an option and had gone to there for 10 years. Brought an animal to be spayed and was really disappointed at the lack of attention from the vets. Instead of being contacted by the vet after the procedure and then when we picked up the animal, the techs were the only ones to communicate. They told us that since this was a routine procedure, they saw no reason for the vet to have contact with us. When I asked if this is their normal protocol, they acted like I was being high maintenance and then the vet came out, gave me a very limp wristed handshake and asked if I had questions. Yeah, I had already asked them. Never going back to this place. Actually, this place made the old place look awesome where we always communicated with the drs and never the techs. Nothing against the techs, but seems like they are the primary caregivers here. Just not the relationship we want. Poor customer service read more

Shawnee died today. She was a 13 year old yellow lab who was loved very much. She had a tumor that burst last Saturday. Our vet was out of town till Wednesday and a friend recommended Pacific Coast Veterinary Hospital. The staff and Dr. Scibelli were so great. They were compassionate and thoughtful. We wanted to know how serious Shawnee's condition was and diagnosis and prognosis before we made the final decision. They did blood work and suggested an ultrasound at another clinic (who I will review next, without the five stars). The prognosis was grim. Shawnee was dying. We brought her home so the kids could say goodbye. And she bounced back. We took her to the stables so Shiloh could say goodbye and she wagged her tail and smiled the whole time. We took her to the beach for the last time and she ran in the surf and fetched sticks. We couldn't put her down while her tail wagged, ears perked and she smiled that smile that dogs do when they are happy. Last night though was hard on her. Her breathing became short and labored. She stopped eating a couple of days ago and tail didn't wag as quickly as it always has. She was starving and the pain was increasing. My wife and I decided this morning it was time. The receptionist, Veronica, was so caring and did everything possible to make this moment as easy as possible for Shawnee and me. Dr. Gertmenian was gentle and reassuring. I laid next to Shawnee as she was given the shots. I stroked her head reminding her of everyone who loved her so. I prayed for her and told God she is a good dog and worthy of her place in heaven. Dr. Gertmenian was so patient with us. She stroked my head and comforted me while I tried to comfort Shawnee. Several staff members were so kind and considerate and went out of their way to offer their condolences. Wow, today sucks! But the expert care, sound advice and compassion of Pacific Coast Veterinary Hospital kept Shawnee with us for as long as possible, for which are very grateful. P.S. A local florist just delivered a beautiful bouquet. Not surprising as many of our friends know how much Shawnee meant to us. I opened the card and read "Thinking of you during this difficult time. Shawnee will be in our thoughts. - All the Staff at Pacific Coast Veterinary Hospital.". Damn, I'm crying again. But caring friends are such a comfort. Medical doctors have Pharmacists and Doctors of Pharmacy PharmD. I see this as a SEVERE SHORTCOMING in Veterinary medicine. An MD only gets one quarter of pharmaceutical training in all the years of school. I learned that even humans that are pharmacy trained make mistakes. I would not allow my regular Vet give Triflexis to our dog. We use HeartGuard Plus and Advantix II. Even so, we believe our dog has been poisoned after many years on the same combo. We sent away to the Washington State University for a Gene test for DRM1 (never heard of this until after I researched). This test is looking for a gene that makes some breeds extra sensitive to certain drug protocols. Our Breeder did a test when our dog was born for an eye issue prevalent is our breed. The gene tests are fairly new. I'm sorry you lost your dog at this practice. I don't think in today's practices they are taking the time to explore all modern methods. There is another gene test I read about last week. I'll have to investigate.. read more

We went one time and he went way out of his way to make our lives change forever and he took care of our kitty ‍ like it was his own. My 2 year old goldendoodle has gone to PC Vet since I got her. Last week she was suffering from an ear infection following a grooming. When I called for an appointment I was told that they were unable to see her for exam until 6 days later. I explained that she was in pain and needed treatment. I was again told that they were to busy, first appointment was 6 days away. I find that to be outrageous. I was able to obtain treatment for her at another more caring veterinary hospital. I didn't feel rushed, she welcomed (and answered) all my questions & overall I had a great experience. My cat on the other hand did not. Also, their staff is great. From Lynn, the receptionist to Will, the technician I'm assuming, everyone was super helpful. Will went over everything in great detail and was just as nice and accommodating as Dr. G. Thank you Will! I'll definitely be back for check-ups, etc... (the only complaint would be the slamming of the doors. my cat was freaked out enough as it was, every time a door would slam, which was every other second, she'd shake violently & I thought her eyes were going to pop out of her head) But other than that, the place is great! read more

My cat was very sick. The doctors and vet techs had wonderful bedside manners. They were tender with her. They treated her as if Louise was their cat. They constantly called to check in on her. And when the time came when we had to send Louise to heaven, they helped us through the process. This office is spectacular! Last Monday I had to take my 12 year old boxer Emma here after a night of yelping and excruciating pain. I came in right when they opened as a sobbing mess and thought this was the end for my baby. Days before this she was a happy prancing pup, so I was in shock. Dr. Scibelli showed great care and concern in figuring out exactly what was wrong with Emma. With her symptoms he discovered she had degenerative disc disease and did x-rays and blood work just incase. I picked up my girl later that afternoon, along with meds, and a very informative packet on how to deal with her new lifestyle. A week later I'm reducing her meds and in awe of her speedy recovery. Best vet office in town. Period. Being new to the area, we took our Golden to three other vet offices before finding this one and we wish we would've found them sooner. They were incredibly accommodating from day one, wonderful staff, both doctors are excellent and the office itself is very pleasant. We, unfortunately, had to put our dog down just one short month after finding this place and they couldn't not have been more wonderful. Not only were they kind and sentitive to our loss that day but they mailed us a beautiful card signed by the entire staff (with actual hand-written messages about our specific pet, nothing generic) AND we received a floral arrangement at our home the following day. I'm a new Mommy to my dog so I don't know much about how Vet's offices are normally run, but I've always had a great experience with this office! It is always spotless and the staff is very attentive and clearly loves and cares for animals :) My dog gets super nervous around people she doesn't know but they are always very patient and loving towards her and make sure to give her the care she needs while making her as comfortable as possible. Especially Dr G - I don't think I've EVER met someone as sweet as she is! She is so patient with my dog. I love it. I've also come home a few times from work and been a little bit worried about something my dog is doing, and they've always been great at fitting me in for a last minute appointment late in the day, which I really appreciate! The last two years have been challenging for everyone including them and they continue to run their business which was amazing and the protocol that they had with us being in our cars was definitely acceptable. But now the times have changed and I don't feel comfortable with continuing to be in my vehicle when my pet has a visit. Being that they are very qualified, personable and thorough and all those good things it's just not good customer service to me. I don't like sitting in my car I become a number. personal time with the doctor is very important and I pay a lot of money for that service. Communication with the Doctor my concerns and any other topics regarding my pets care is lost when I'm stuck in my car and to have a conversation with the doctor in the parking lot is not professional. Dr. G & staff took wonderful care of Rodeo :) Rodeo is very sensitive and goes with me most places.
