0 would be a better option. I came from Optum after leaving Kaiser and was referred to Pacific Dermatology for a skin condition that requires consistent use of a biologic to keep it under control. I now have Pacific Dermatology through CAMG. I have quite literally never experienced worse medical care. No one answers the front office phone and it often rings to a disconnect tone. When they do, I get forwarded to the back office voicemail with no return. They do not respond to app messages. I have now been waiting since 2-14-26 being told my medication authorization was still pending with Blue Shield. Blue shield told me TODAY that the authorization was only submitted YESTERDAY. This is the worst excuse for medical care. If you have a condition that requires consistent care DO NOT EVEN MAKE AN APPT HERE. If this is the only option for dermatological care assigned to your insurance, SWITCH YOUR INSURANCE and GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! read more

Ok. So no we are going to the Ford Street Pac Derm. Incredibly long appointment scheduling. When we were leaving, we tried to make our 3 month follow up appt for my husband. They said they couldn't schedule out that far, to call at the beginning of the following month. So I did...after waiting 3 weeks to call, next appt is 4 months out, which puts my husband at almost 5 months. He deals with skin cancer. So I spoke to the Office Manager, who was very nice, and she was able to squeeze him into a reasonable appt. My husband goes to the appt today only to find he's not even on the books. New appt scheduled for April 24th. Once again, very disappointing. read more

Given the mixed reviews, I went in with caution for my first visit with Dr. Esche. Aside from the wait time, I was pleasantly surprised by his focus on long-term lifestyle changes over short-term medications. The session didn't feel rushed, and he took time to answer my questions. A horrific and disturbing experience! First, they gave me paperwork for another patient showing all their information and their treatment plan and when I let them know, they acted like they did nothing wrong and I never did receive my own treatment plan. Then, I was supposed to be seen for a biopsy ASAP, and they scheduled me over 2 months later. The absolute worst part, was the horrible women who performed my biopsies, she took two without any numbing gel and stitching me up without any type of numbing! WTH! When I had a single biopsy done at Kaiser and Beaver Medical, they always numbed the area. She also wouldn't answer 1 question on my condition or how to take care of my stitches! This place is BARBARIC on top of incompetent! read more

It took a couple of months for an appointment, which I did not mind. However, it was difficult to get to speak to someone. I was always waiting for approximately 10 min. each time, and still no one answering the phone . I had to reach out via their website for a call back, and if you missed it, you will not get a call back. I tried multiple times to reschedule by phone. I had to reach out via their website once more, and when I did get a call back, the employee did not have the professionalism I would want a business to have. I decided to cancel my appointment and will now seek elsewhere. It took too much effort on my part for a simple initial appointment or question. Waited 1.5 hours total. The check In process took an hour because people had to share an iPad to register and answer about 50 questions . Np came In and immediately started a skin check. Told me I needed three biopsies- then injected me with lidocaine and epinephrine. She didn't explain what she was injecting me with or the procedure she was going to do which was a "shave and clip" or something like that to biopsy the moles. The aftercare instructions was a piece of paper with instructions circled. The NP said I would either hear from them in a couple weeks or see them in 6 months. Was not really impressed leaving with that meant... Im in the medical field so I guess as to whether the moles were cancerous or not. Also I don't appreciate false charting that was made in NPs Notes about things that didn't happen "explained to patient risks or procedure"... etc No education provided. It was pretty much if they get infected go to urgent care. Kaiser referred me and I can't say I'm happy to go back. Hopefully not. read more

The two stars are for the support staff. They have been punctual and professional the two times I've gone to Pacific Dermatology's Ford St location. It was not difficult to obtain an appointment both times I've needed them and my wait time when I arrived for the appointments has been short. My second visit was yesterday, July 31, 2024. I saw Dr Esche for the first time but it was a follow up visit for some suspicious freckles I had treated with liquid nitrogen six months prior by a different clinician. Dr Esche looked at the previously-treated areas on my nose and said they looked fine but then said I had a spot on my ear; however, before I could ask for a mirror to see what he was talking about, he immediately shot the area with liquid nitrogen canister he already had in his hand, without telling me he was going to do that or even ask if he had my permission to do that in the first place. It startled me. I'm actually not convinced I even had a spot on my ear in the first place, as I am very vigilant with keeping on top of suspicious freckles and he didn't give me the opportunity to look at it before he whipped out his canister with lightning speed and sprayed me. The interaction with him was quite strange and felt unprofessional in my opinion. He then told me to come back in six months. Not that it takes very long to complete an appointment, but he was in the exam room for less than 5 minutes. I contacted my primary care physician (PCP) as well as my insurance carrier to report the incident and to get a referral to a different dermatology group for future treatment. While I was online getting the address and phone number of Pacific Dermatology for my insurance carrier, who is filing a complaint, I saw Pacific Dermatology's Yelp reviews of only two and a half stars with 59 reviews. I have never seen such poor reviews for a medical group before. My insurance carrier is also requesting that my PCP give me a referral to a different dermatology practice for my next appointment and the reason why. Dr Esche really needs to slow his roll and work on his bedside manner. He should not touch patients without first asking their permission or at least telling them what he is going to do. It's just common courtesy. read more

I had an appointment today with Clemens Esche, M.D, I waited 30 minutes past my scheduled appointment time, only to be rushed through my session with the doctor, who spent a total of six minutes with me. I asked him to review the ingredients of a skincare product I suspected I was allergic to, but he couldn't be bothered to take the time. He also showed no interest in looking at the pictures of my rash and swelling. Instead, he quickly dismissed my concerns, told me it was rosacea, and didn't even ask if I had any questions before rushing me out with a brief, "Nice to meet you." I left feeling sick to my stomach over the lack of care and professionalism. I wouldn't recommend this facility to anyone seeking to understand the root cause of their skin issues. read more

First off it's very hard to get them to answer their phone. My insurance, Optum, sent me here for an issue I had with my mouth. I was spoken to like a little girl when in fact I'm 36 and a business owner. I was told nothing was wrong with my mouth..the female dermatologist who saw me didn't do any testing other than visually looking at me. She told me to use a special chapstick. I have now gone elsewhere and seen a respectful and professional dermatologist and I did have a bacterial infection (just like I had told the dermatologist here). Perhaps spend some time reviewing the scheduling template and don't schedule a 30min appointment into a 15 min time slot? Everyone else has to wait in the lobby. I've left 2 messages in 3 days and called 6 times with zero response to my messages. My insurance only covers this place so I've been forced to use them but EVERY time I have called to make an appt., still no answer. This is not a one time thing. The wait time was far too long for the quality of care that I received. I waited for forty minutes, and the doctor (Doctor Esche) didn't even talk to me for a minute. Didn't ask any questions, didn't seem like he was willing to listen to what I have to say. He just seemed like he wanted me to get out as soon as possible, as if I was wasting his precious his time. I suspect that me being on MediCal and not being a particularly profitable patient was why I didn't get proper care or treatment. It was a complete waste of time to come here. Each and every time we visit this office as well as the upland office , the wait time is ridiculous. We arrived for our 3:00pm appointment at 2:50 to be told they are running 1-2 hours behind!! It annoys me because I took my son out of school early to make the appointment on time. Had I been late, they would have quickly charged us a fee and cancelled the appointment. Such a disregard for our time. On top of that you can never get an appointment so rescheduling is almost impossible if you want treatment. I saw the doctor today at Pacific Dermatology in Redlands. It took longer to get the appointment than the referral allowed so I had to get an extension on the referral. I consider this a minor issue since I am a new patient and I think this is becoming the "new normal." The doctor came into the exam room and hardly looked at me before she dismissed my concern as a fungus. She couldn't really tell because after waiting 3 months for the appointment, my skin had cleared up. Finally, I told her about a skin condition I have had for 30 years. It was diagnosed using three different lab tests involving biopsies and blood tests. She seemed to dismiss the fact that I even had this condition and wanted to know who diagnosed it and how. Furthermore, when I asked her for a prescription that I use and have used for over 30 years for this condition, she again dismissed me saying that the medication I requested would make the condition worse. The sense I get is that my condition wasn't lucrative enough for them to really spend much time with me. She denied my medication request and dismissed most of my issues. It should go without saying, I will not be going back to Pacific Dermatology. I hope you have better luck with them than I did. read more

What a shit show. What a disgrace and these people should be ashamed of themselves of how they treat people and conduct themselves. I don't see one single professional in the building. I didn't even make it past the lobby. I've never experienced such rude and miserable people in my life. They were yelling at us to put masks on. They were rude to me and my children. People came in without masks on before us and no one said anything. There is no sign that says masks are required. They have no other protocols in place other than harassing patients about the masks. The main receptionist that I was dealing with clearly hates her life and her job and was mocking us and talking trash about myself and my children. All I need to do was get to to doctor.. When they called other people back, they were nice and spoke to them. When they called me back, she said my name rudely, wouldn't look at me, wouldn't speak to me and as I'm standing there staring at her for her to tell me what to do, I realize the entire staff is watching me and that they all had been talking about myself and my family. Finally, after that awkwardness she tells me what room to go (when she had the other patient follow her to the room kindly and nicely) coldly and I said you know what I'm not doing this. I told them that they're all fucking rude and they all started mocking me. And I left. What a joke. read more

We waited about 30 min to get in maybe saw Dr for 10 min , said he would call the following week Mon or Tuesday at the latest. Nothing! We have made several attempts to reach anyone by phone. They won't take my call, they won't call me back and they won't send me to another doctor. Believe all negative reviews for any of the Pacific Dermatology Institute locations. I couldn't believe how difficult it was when trying to make an appointment. No one answered the phone! Got put on hold forever. Then was asked to leave a voice message. The procedure I try to get done requires me to pay out of pocket. The way these places conduct business as if I get things from them for free! I had an appointment in the summer and was told to they won't do this procedure then due to the summer sun and to come back in the fall. Tried calling today to schedule an appointment at 3 different places. Was put on hold at 3 locations and still don't have an appointment. I certainly would not recommend PDI to anyone. Please take your business somewhere else that treat you with respect. read more

I've been to several different locations trying to find an office that is staffed with semi-efficient people. However, no such luck. It always takes 30 minutes or so to reach someone to make an appointment and then another 2-3 months to get in. When you finally see someone, they rush you through without any real concern for your health. On my last visit, I was especially concerned about a spot on my forehead. I was told it was nothing to worry about, but three months later it was much darker, raised, and large. I tried to get in, but they wanted me to wait another 3 months to see me. I couldn't wait and when I went to a different doctor, they handled it immediately and told me it was a good thing I came in then because it was serious. Pacific Dermatology doesn't care about their patients, just about making a buck. read more

The front office staff and nurses are fine, but the doctors aren't responsive. The patient shouldn't have to call numerous times over a four week period and still not get substitutions for prescriptions since the one written aren't covered by my insurance. The doctor I saw was also mildly abrasive and undermined the diagnosis and treatment that one of her colleagues had started, so now I'm back to square one and feel horrible. If you need an in-office treatment of skin cancer screening, they're fine, but if you have an ongoing skin issue, I'd look elsewhere. read more

However, I was called the day before my follow up appointment with a notification that my appointment was cancelled as my insurance was no longer accepted (mistakenly accepted in first place). I went to pacific dermatology to start on Accutane. Ive been on this medication regime before so I know there are strict deadlines for getting online forms and lab tests done. I was supposed to meet with with PA Laura Woolley. When I first went to pacific, the MA's in the lobby and back clinic were quite rude and not accommodating (even made me do a urine test in the lobby bathroom instead of a private bathroom inside the clinic forcing me to walk by other patients). PA Wooley made it seem like she would be timely with prescribing the medication and completing her portion of the iPledge agreement. I had two round of blood tests and after, neither of them were verified by her in a timely manner and I was not able to obtain the prescription forcing me to wait an additional month and having to repeat the blood tests (unnecessary needles and waiting time). I have found their staff to be very unprofessional and inconsiderate of patient's time and wellbeing. The MA's also lied quite often, telling me they had called me to verify iPledge when I have never received calls on the days and times they told me they called (I even showed them my call log). I actually asked to see the overhead physician instead of the PA but they ended up scheduling me for the PA anyway ignoring my wishes for how I want my treatment to be managed. Overall this is a very frustrating situation. If you can find another dermatologist I would recommend going to see them instead. I feel very insulted and I don't know how they call themselves healthcare professionals when they do not actually care about patients. read more
