I came to Peter Norman Jewelers in need of a dire task to be completed. The previous company I was…read moreworking with could not deliver the custom ring I needed with 2 months time and had not notified me of the issues they faced along the way in order for me to plan appropriately around the arrival of the ring. It is also note worthy to include that I live in northern California and Peter Norman Jewelers is located down in LA. In a panicked state, I looked up jewelers who had a good service record and many years of experience crafting one of a kind rings. Peter's Jewelery shop was the first to be recommended and I wasted no time in giving his shop a call. His associate picked up the phone and I told her of the task I needed completed after giving her the run down of how my prior jeweler could not complete my ring. She immediately contacted Peter himself and had him call me back personally to hear my request. Peter called me back almost immediately and I told him the story and that I had a request for a custom ring to be completed in less than 1 week's time. The ring specifications were a 4.57ct diamond, a hidden halo, platinum band, and 1/2 pauvè on the ring, in a 5.75 size ring. Peter was incredibly attentive in listening to the details and the urgency of the matter and wasted no time in calling his jeweler to discuss if this can be done. I waited for about 10 minutes and Peter called me back and said that he and his team could do it! To my surprise, given the extremely short notice, I was so relieved that Peter and his team could save my proposal and all the plans the went into making it possible. I immediately sent him a written email for the ring specifications and a wire for half down and he went straight to work. The night of, he and his team had already sent me a CAD file of the 3D generated ring. During this sub week process for a complicated ring, Peter kept me informed and kept open communication about the process of the ring, down to the shipping progress. This is something I really appreciated because it is a trait that my prior company did not incorporate into their practice, making it very difficult to plan my proposal. Despite the very short amount of time, Peter and his team constructed a beautiful ring, beyond my expectations and even sent me a show room video about how the finished product looked! Now back to the shipping, being that we live in opposite directions of California, shipping an expensive piece of jewelry and ensuring that the delivering is unencumbered became the next task. Peter found a shipping partner and also insured the entirety of the ring in the case the shipping company was delayed or possibly damaged the ring. Peter also took extra lengths to pad and box the ring as well as disguise the box to make it look like an average delivery parcel. Peter also personally updated me with tracking information along each step of the process. The ring arrived smoothly the following day and I was able to marvel Peter and his team's work. The ring was beautiful, symmetrical, seamless, and structurally sound. It had come one day prior to when I needed the ring. I knew that this was a lot of pressure and a nearly impossible task for many, but Peter and his team and experience of over 30 years in the business clearly showed a remarkable display of professionalism and experience in their craft. What I had asked to be done in a week, he pulled it off within 6 days time including the shipping. Peter, you and your team saved my proposal and my now fiancée is absolutely obsessed with her ring! Thank you to you and your team, Peter. I live quite a ways away, but you are the only jewelry team that I trust and would come to personally visit for all my jewelry needs, despite being so far away! We had family flying in from out of town to celebrate the engagement this weekend, and instead, they arrived to find my fiancée crying non-stop, her joy replaced by heartbreak. We quickly returned today to speak with Vrej in hopes that he could help us figure out why this had happened. To add salt to the wound of our situation, instead of being met with the helpful person we thought we knew, we were met with threats and accused of being thieves by Vrej himself. After speaking with multiple reputable diamond setters, they all commented on what a poor job he did and how unprofessional his work was.
