This is such a great little campground…read morethat is walking distance to the ocean and the dunes where you can have bonfires, go ATVing, or just go walk on the beach to catch the sunset. We enjoyed an evening here, playing games having a bonfire and then walking to the beach to watch the sunset. They have a good amount of RV spots, and can fit 40ft rigs. They also have ample bathrooms and showers available! Great campground!

The campground comes with a picnic table, fire pit, water hook up, and electricity outlets. There's also a restroom that's somewhat maintained, for showers and toilet use. Showers are $1 for 3 minutes, but there are no coin exchange machines, so be sure to bring your own quarters. Also note, that showers are only operating from 10am-6pm. It gets pretty loud at night, with tons of frogs and birds calling, but hey, that's nature! If you're looking to do tent camping, this probably isn't the best spot. Most people around us were all RV camping, and we definitely felt very out of place. Probably wouldn't do this spot again, but it's close enough to a lot of shops in case you forget something and need to go out. If we had more time, we'd probably explore the area a little more, but the campsite itself was okay.

This place is a membership campground so you can't request specific sites if you aren't a member. This park is packed with lots of trucks parked along every street with everyone having fun. Each site is gravel with green belts behind. There is tons of green grass and poop bag stands everywhere. The laundry is $2.50 to wash and $2.50 to dry. There is a restaurant with a bar. You can eat inside or out in front. Nice looking arcade, mini golf, shuffle board, horse shoes and a few places that give you access to the beach. The staff said hello everytime they drove by. We had a great time! Pismo Pier is three blocks to the left and there is a 7-11 across the street. We also went to a cool dinner show called Great American Melodrama. There is a coupon in you map booklet. Good chips and salsa at Old Juans Mexican Restaurant too.

Bryan the deputy dawg of security was at best a one toothed wonder deputy. Or so he thought! Deputy dawg started yelling at me for choosing the wrong exit gate. Then he accused me of trying to leave with out paying. What an idiot! After a yelling match I was able to start my payment process with the laughable lady who was in an ozone. While handing her my I.D. and credit card the idiot security guard reached over the laughable ladys shoulder and snatched my license from the cashier....wtf.....I asked for it back....nope ....left the office to go after the turd and took back my license. After having some security head trying to keep me out. Ha! Long story short the establishment is very nice the idiots representing the establishment not so much. They will NEVER get another nickel from me.

Would recommend to people who's okay with camping in the car/RV that don't mind the sandy inconvenience. 4WD/AWD and basic low traction driving knowledge is necessary to get to the camp areas. The Oceano Dunes cover 1,500 acres and are a huge draw for ATV's, Razors, four wheel drive and motorcycles. It is open daily from 7am - 10pm for day use. The beach area can handle normal cars and trucks. We arrived late in the day and there was not a ranger in sight. There is a small fee of $5.00 to take your vehicle on the beach. We paid by the honor system since the fee station was closed. After we paid, we went ahead and drove down the driveway onto the sand. Speed limit is 15 mph. We did not go far but found a great place to park and take in the views. The second time we went back for sunset and parked in the paved parking lot instead. Everyone that was there was having a great time with campfires, waves rushing in and out, dogs and kids running around. The temperatures were perfect, just a light hoodie was needed. Overnight camping is available but does require a reservation especially during high season. My grandfather spent many summers with his buddies camping here and fishing away the days. It did feel good to be here knowing this was one of his favorite getaways. This is definitely a unique experience.

Not on the beach and no ocean view. Very close to Avila Beach, Avila Valley Barn, and close to Pismo Beach. About 22 miles from Morro Bay. Sites are level gravel, w/ a picnic table. Some have a concrete pad, chairs, umbrella, BBQ, and propane fire pit, and enclosed pet yard. 5 ft. wooden fencing between sites provides a bit of privacy. Facility is clean, well kept. Staff are polite, helpful. Sites reasonable size, we had plenty of room in a back in and pull thru. Many amenities families might enjoy. A drawback is road noise. Facility backs up directly to the 101. You will hear vehicles, sirens, etc. It didn't really bother us for an overnight stay. Would stay here again.

We rented a premium site with a dog relief area which was very nice, as shown in my photo. We were right near the front of the park though, so traffic was very heavy and our dogs were consistently entertained by the people walking by our site. There are also small cabins for rent in the park and our site butted right up next to one. It was WAY too close IMO because their windows went directly into our site. Kinda awkward. This park was very busy since we stayed over the weekend and was full of people who were attending a nearby baseball tournament. That meant a lot of kids and some with no supervision. One night I had to go outside to ask kids to stop running through our site because it was well past the quiet hours and disturbing our dogs. I didn't notice any park employee enforcing rules so that was kind of a bummer. The store onsite was very nice and our kids took advantage of the game room, namely pool and the ping pong table. Overall we would stay here again, but request a site that was near the back of the park and maybe off to the side to avoid so much traffic.
