I have been to this location previously a number of times when it was Inland Eye Institute. I have always had great experiences but thought I would share a current example. I recently ended up with some foreign material in my eye. I immediately flushed it with saline and called it a day... or so I thought. After two days of continued irritation I was concerned enough to call and inquire about an appointment before the long Thanksgiving weekend, and was fortunate to get one same day. I must confess that I was a little apprehensive as I had never heard of the available doctor, but I was experiencing enough discomfort to give it a shot. Enter Dr. Marina Awadalla, O.D. I could not have had a more positive experience! Dr. Awadalla is congenial, knowledgeable, extremely kind, and very thorough. I am thankful (pun intended!) on this Thanksgiving Eve that I was fortunate enough to receive care from such a consummate professional. I would be remiss if I did not mention Jackie, a simply amazing assistant with the requisite personality and all of the professional qualities of anyone dedicated to medical care. My husband and I waited 45 minutes past my appointment time, with no end of waiting time in sight and other patients coming and going and being called in while we just sat there. I finally cancelled my appointment and we left; my time and my husband's time are valuable to us and it is abusive to treat patients that way. I had waited several months for this appointment - a repeat of one earlier in the year - and did not need to be ignored or have excuses made for why we were waiting so long. Their schedulers do not know what they are doing if they overschedule people for appointments. They need to value patients over profit. read more

To be clear this should be a zero star review. I've been a patient with Pacific Eye Institute since they were Inland Eye Institute; well over 10 years. The doctors/surgeons are amazing as are the technicians and most of the office staff. They provide competent, caring and professional care. Were it not for these outstanding medical providers I'd have left Pacific Eye years ago because other than that, the rest of Pacific Eye Institute is a disaster... Long waiting times are often mentioned in Pacific Eye reviews. Minimum waits are often at least an hour which suggests poor office management and poor scheduling. This is likely because Inland Eye Institute was acquired and is now part of the incredibly uncaring, unprofessional and unkind corporation, Pacific Eye Institute. This corporation cares nothing about patients and everything about money. A recent example: my pharmacy faxed refill requests to Pacific Eye on June 13, July 15, August 16, and September 17, 2024 with absolutely no response from Pacific Eye. So I was without my blindness-preventing medication until I had to step in, as a patient, myself. When I called Pacific Eye's prescription department it was clear I was talking to someone in another country. "Rex" could not have cared less about my lack of medication and did absolutely nothing to help. When I called again the day after I essentially had to threaten to go higher up the corporate ladder to insure getting my meds. The day after the second call my prescription was filled. But as a patient, I had to wait over four months and get personally involved to make what should have been automatic, actually happen. What's really scary is that the outsourcing Pacific Eye has done is to countries that care nothing about you and now have access to your sensitive personal and medical information. That should be a huge red flag to doing business with Pacific Eye Institute. When I asked to speak to the office manager I was told she splits her time between the Apple Valley and Colton locations. So, when there's a problem, (and there will be) don't expect to be able to talk with anyone who is actually in any kind of a management position. Again, let me be clear; Pacific Eye's doctors/surgeons, technicians and office staff are extremely caring and professional. After some lengthy conversations it's clear they are as exasperated with their stressful, incompetent and uncaring corporate environment as are their patients. But the fact remains that office management, scheduling and prescriptions suffer under the incredible mismanagement of corporate ownership as well as local clinic management. If you want eye care without the stress of climbing corporate ladders to get the treatment and prescriptions you need, go anywhere else but Pacific Eye Institute. Run, don't walk, away from Pacific Eye. read more

They must be overwhelmed with clients. Thats the only explanation I can think of for why they care so little about me. I'm 66, I live in Lake arrowhead and the local optometrist said they would not be able to help me with the floaters I am starting to see in my left eye. They referred me down the hill , as they do with all their clients to Pacific Eye Institute. I couldn't even get pass first base. When I called to make an appointment I stayed on hold for over a half hour and no one picked up. I finally opted to leave a voice message to call me back. It took the whole day for me to get a call back. I explained my symptoms and told them that my local optometrist said that I need to set up an appointment with an ophthalmologist at their clinic and instructed me to tell you that specifically need a retina specialist. The person on the appointment line proceeded to tell me why I cannot see a retina specialist and that I had to see a general ophthalmologist first to then get a referral to a retina specialist adding an extra step. But then they wanted to explain the difference in the 2 types of doctors. This explanation was taking way too long as I needed to get out the door but I wanted to set the appointment first, Giving up on the retina specialist I interrupted and said , " I got it, I understand and thats fine, set me up with the general ophthalmologist, when would you like me to come in? " ... I was hung up on. Given how how time consuming the appointment setting process is at this clinic I didn't even try to call back and complain to a manager. I'm simply leaving my one star review and moving on to find a better eye doctor. Good luck Pacific eye. I'm sure you are doing fine without me. Dr. Kim is absolutely amazing. He cared for my 87yr old mother as if she was his grandmother. He was kind, patient and gentle! Thank you a million times over for doing a excellent procedure. Her sight is Amazing and looks forward to purchasing her new set of glasses. She is now able to read her bible and many books, she has returned to her detailed Quilting. I have had two cataract surgeries at this clinic with great results. I love Dr. Erica Saucedo because she is very knowledgeable and shares good information and feedback that i find very helpful. I switched my Medical Group to be able to use my health insurance to keep her for my eye appointments. Its a busy office, but i am not sitting there all day waiting to be seen. The Front staff (Colton) is incompetent. I have been a patient for 9 months and they told me I was ineligible. I havn't had any changes in my insurance and had to persist in order to be seen. Additionally, they mentioned that they could not schedule my follow-up because their computers are unable to schedule 6 months in advance. I find that hard to believe! The doctor and medical staff are great and highly recommended by my Optometrist. Please note, I have Point-Of-Service insurance where I have options for care outside my HMO group. However, after these experiences, I will not be coming back! read more

I recently had Retinal reattachment surgery with Dr. Tabandeh & he did a great job in the reattachment surgery. BUT! The front desk/administration office, has NO CLUE how important it is to keep in touch with their patients when dealing with EDD and SDI. The doctors are great, but I will NOT be returning to this office as the front desk doesn't give priority to those that need paperwork when with dealing with the EDD. Constant excuses & the one excuse that is really disturbing is that Dr Tabandeh is only there on Tuesday's so getting paperwork done that requires his signature CANNOT and WILL NOT happen any other day but Tuesday. So if you need ANYTHING from the front desk, it will ALWAYS BE A FIGHT. I needed a document that would have given the office another $5000 for cataract surgery, now, due to their lack of keeping up on paperwork, I am going to another doctor. Office staff is completely unorganized & incompetent. I even went down to the office (50 miles from my home) to make SURE they send the documents I need, I called first thing in the morning the next day to make SURE I get the documents I need for EDD and for the Cataract surgery & then I called before they closed. The nurse that was suppose to call me, left for the day... this costs me money and the possibly of getting my cataract surgery paid for. Go someplace else, if you can't ge the office staff to do the work you need, then no matter how good the doctors are, it's not worth going there. Office staff EPIC FAILURE!! I have been more than patient with these guys. Totally done. Don't go to Inland Eye Institute. Doctors are good, office staff... not so much. --- Once again, even after my surgery, office still can't get their staff together. I went to Pacific Eye Center in Upland, FAR more organized and more friendly. They REALLY have their stuff together at Pacific Eye & the facility is FAR nicer. Inland Eye is STILL screwing me, as they coded all my work done improperly, so now Pacific Eye will not accept my insurance & they are not seeing that my deductible has been met. So due to Inland Eyes lack of able to manage paperwork, I may not be able to get cataract surgery.... Avoid Inland Eye at all costs!! read more

Dr. Sanchez is absolutely amazing. I had a pterygium in my left eye that needed to be removed and she did it no problem. Leading up to and after the day of surgery, I had multiple appointments at the office and all went great. The staff was extremely friendly and the wait times were very short. Dr. Sanchez has to be one of the coolest doctors on the planet. She's very easy to talk to, very understanding, and seems to settle for nothing but the best for all of her patients. read more

Staff was very nice. However, I am a new patient to Dr Kim. He entered the room, never looked at me, never addressed me, never said my name, and ironically never made eye contact. He asked one question about prostate meds and confirmed Thatbi was needing a cataract surgery. then pushed the eye exam machine in my face. 15 seconds later he abruptly told the staff to put more drops in my eyes and left the room. 15 minutes later he returned. Still no personal interaction other than commands during the exam and noticing I was very light sensitive. The only time he looked me in the face and actually talked to me not at me was when he suggested I upgrade my surgery to a special lens that was not covered by insurance $2000. The worst part was he had a young doctor shadowing him trying to learn from him. I overheard them talking about his marketing strategy to get referrals from local optometrists. Hey Dr Kim....maybe try being a little more personable. A little more caring. try getting to know your patients. Develop a relationship with them. Look them in the eye when you talk to them. After all, you are expecting them to trust you to do invasive surgery on their eyes. Maybe then you'll get more word of mouth referrals. Dr Vider was so dismissive and cold. I went in for my eye problem and he found a foreign item behind my eye. He is so rough and when I told him he was hurting me he continued to remove the item in spite of the pain. He told a staff member to send it to pathology to see what it was and they would call me with the results. I never heard back. I called and they said they would get back to me. After that initial call, I tried calling 13 times and all calls went to their answering service even though I called during operating hours. I tried calling at different hours of the day to see if someone at the front desk would answer. Not once did I get anyone to answer the phone. After the 14th message someone finally called me back and said that the results from pathology said that the thing in my eye was a "foreign object".Obviously the Doctor never sent it in and that they were avoiding my calls. Total incompetence. I woul not recommend this place at all. read more

I recently had Lasik surgery at Inland Eye in Ontario with Dr Blanton. I would HIGHLY recommend going there, I "interviewed" and visited several other places and Dr. Blanton was the most patient doctor of all, no high pressure techniques like a place very close by which REALLY turned me off - he answered all my questions and was very reassuring. Brought my mom to have her eyes checked. We arrived before her scheduled appointment time of 2:15pm. The receptionist feigned surprise and said my mom was scheduled for 2:45pm in her "system". She asks my mom if she had spoken to someone over the phone to confirm, prior to arriving. My mom said she had received and confirmation call last week, and had written down the time, 2:15pm. (She held that very sheet of paper as she spoke to the receptionist.) At 3:01pm, they finally took her to an exam room - 45min after her confirmed appointment time. Look, I get that mistakes happen, and I also get that doctor's appointments rarely run on time, but there needs to be some accountability here. At the very least, an apology for the miscommunication. Instead, we were brushed off, as though my mom had made the mistake. At this point, I cannot speak to the quality of the physicians here, but if you cannot be trusted to perform simple duties well, how can you be trusted with the larger, more important ones? If you want a completely friendly Customer service don't go here. The receptionists can be passive aggressive when you don't do things they are not satisfied with. Don't get me wrong, the doctors and nurses do a very good job. It's just that some people needs to work on their attitude even if they have the right to be angry. I recommend making an appointment way before or after 12-1PM because that's when lunch break starts and you'll be waiting a long time for your turn. read more

OMG! I was soooo hesitant about getting Lasik at first. I went for a consultation at Inland Eye and they made me feel very confident and comfortable. This was my second visit. I arrived before my sceduled appointment time. The first time i waited in the lobby 45 min after my appointment time then only to be led to a back waiting room . Where I waited for another 15 min. This time I waited 15 min after appointment tme and asked the the pretty redhead how much longer she came back 5 min later and told me it would be 10 more min. before I would been seen. This place treats people like cattle, with out any concern about who's time they are wasting. Dont make appointments that you cant keep. Since This has happened 2 out of 2 times. This review is an update from my previous "tip." I went in the office today for a recheck and I was greeted by Jennifer the back office manager. She took me into the room and wanted to discuss the "tip" that I had previously left about the wait times being very long. There were two occasions where I waited far too long and two other appointments where I was seen in a timely matter. I used to work for hospitals/doctors and small businesses and I get it. Things get backed up and sometimes there is a wait. I was surprised by how much she truly cared to make our experience a much better one. She listened to what had happened and tried her best to correct it and even entertained my son with snacks (which was very thoughtful). I appreciate this so much as this is ethical and compassionate business practices and every business should keep up with their reviews like this. My experience at Inland Eye Institute has been Amazing. When I first came here I couldn't drive anymore, at 32 I was definitely one of the youngest patients. I have a corneal eye disease, both eyes. I had almost given up on ever driving again or having a productive life. From the moment I checked in, I was blessed with hope again. My doctor told me he could help me see better, it wasn't going to be easy and I would need patience. The staff here are so wonderful and with them constantly busy helping others, I have always felt well taken care of. When the front desk calls with future appointments or when you check in, always with a warm smile. You must have patience when you come to get treatment, sometimes you will wait but it's only fair that every patient get their time and not be rushed. I had a cornea transplant in my left eye and I can say that I'm driving again, since May of 2015!!! I can work again and I recently Saw my son Graduate from High School. I was able to see him and when he waved to me, I could See him. Thank You Inland Eye Institute!!!! I'm ready for my right eye surgery and the future never looked so Good. I bought groupon deal offering Obagi Blue Peel and was surprised when going to Inland Eye in Ontario for the appointment cause of the biz name. Been struggling with facial brown spots/melasma for years, being 52 y/o and it doesn't seem to get any better even though did everything from high UVA/UVB cream as well as wearing a hat when being out. I was so thankful when meeting Jessica, Lic Med Aesthetician, to take care of me. She was not only friendly but very real person, meaning easy to talk to and being so down to earth. I have done researched on line even before purchasing the product and what a difference. I actually noticed a difference after 4 tx which was initially what i purchased through groupon. Then i know i still have to do my part when it comes taking care of my skin, which you know as a woman having dark pigments can only get worse if not taken care of. So was so surprise to know they offer Aesthetically fit 6 months membership costing $79/mo. As a member, one corrective or pampering facial treatment costing $79 instead of the regular price and i'm one who definitely count every cents. In the end, three of us had Lasik Surgery by Dr. Blanton during the month of August, So much was appealing to us. His staff was professional, knowledgeable, warm, and experienced. I was really confident after meeting Dr. Blanton. What a team...a great staff and a talented Doctor. There fees were competitive, the surgery was simple, as Dr. Blanton has done over 30,000 surgeries. They know how to make the patient comfortable with the least amount of stress. This all started when I had an eye exam to get new glasses, and they told me it was time to have cataract surgery. they recommended a place to have it done. So I made an appointment and had my eyes evaluated. This place was truly deluxe. After my exam they said I needed special implants that were not covered by insurance. The cost would be $7000.00 to do both eyes. I was stunned! A good friend suggested IEI, as he had a good experience there. I called and talked to Kimmie, asked how much it would cost to have these same implants, she quickly found out and told me it would be $1500.00 per eye. I made an appointment with Dr Kim. Everyone there treated me not as just a patient but like a friend. special kudos to the nurses in pre/post op for their super attentiveness and caring. Thank you all at IEI for your help and caring. Dr. Ira Vidor surgically corrected my drooping eyelids and increased my side vision considerably. I previously had headaches every day and had difficulty reading, driving and cycling because I couldn't see well. Dr. Vidor did the surgery while I was awake, and I had no problems! I was blown away by the end result...I have great peripheral vision now, and a suprise bonus of a much more youthful look to my eyes. I am so grateful to be able to see again and be headache free. I'm glad my eye doctor/HMO referred me to the Inland Eye Institute and Dr. Vidor, he did an awesome job. They need new waiting room chair cushions here, otherwise, it's top notch. I can even here one yelling at the receptionist room which isn't any of my business but it sounded like they were ratting people out on the phone. Doesn't seem like a friendly environment here.
