THE WORST COMPANY EVER. I had an expensive, powdered coated chain link fence with a rolling gate installed. The gate seized up and eventually would not open. Boy did I get the run around. Rude. Slow to respond, and then I was given instruction on how to fix it myself! I had no idea how or tools! The repair guy eventually came down twice to "look". Both times I doubt he spent 5 mins. One of those times, he said he could fix it for me but he didn't have a wrench! When I insisted on a repair date he raised his voice saying, "I've been trying to help you out!" After one year two of the post failed, I complaint they sent the same guy to replace them. Two years later I have to replace half the posts... i called them and they refuse to take care. When I started to work on the post myself, I discovered they never set the post in concrete and they buried the post less than 6 inches down... Update: Since then, one of their managers reached out apologized and return almost 50% of the original cost of the fence. read more

We used Pacific Fence to install approximately 270' of fencing and three gates in our backyard with 6' cedar on the front and sides with steel posts and 6' black chain link (didn't want to obstruct our view) in the back. We didn't immediately move to Oregon when we bought our house, so we had to coordinate getting quotes from contractors to align with when we did weekend visits from out of state. We appreciated that the sales guy from Pacific Fence was willing to come out and give us a quote on a Saturday when we were in town. Only one other fencing company was willing to do that on the weekend. Pacific Fence's quote was slightly lower than our other bid and we appreciated that they worked with both solid wood and chain link. Overall, the guys who built the fence did a great job. There are a couple spots where the fence is higher off the ground than we were initially told it would be due to a slight slope, which could be an issue if we had small dogs. However, it's nothing too extreme and the fence looks nice and is sturdy. The only part of our experience that keeps me from giving them a full five stars was the lack of communication on scheduling. We never knew what days the guys were going to show up to work on the fence or at what time. If we called to ask, we would be told someone would either be there "tomorrow or the next day." A couple times no one showed for days at a time because "they ran out of 6' boards", which is surprising for a fencing company. Since we work from home, better communication would have been appreciated because we were trying to schedule our meetings around construction noise, etc. With that said, we are happy with the fence and would request a quote from them again for future projects should they arise. read more

I had three other contractors out to look at my project and none of them seemed to be able to handle the task except for Pacific. Had Frank come out for an estimate, which he told me would take one week max to receive. It has been 17 days and I have had no further communication with anyone in the company. I called today and talked to Frank directly and he assured me that he would get to the root of the problem and call me back the same day to let me know what went wrong. I never heard from him. I waited 2 weeks, then I called the company and left a message on Frank's phone; it has been over a month. He never called! What a waste of my time. I needed a small fencing job done on the front of my property. Eventually, it was done, and it looks nice. Good stuff: Bid came in well under another, with a promise of quicker installment. When the guy who did the fence showed up, he did show up on time, and did a good job installing the fence, with attention to details like making sure it was level to the ground to keep the dog in, and that the gates opened the correct way. It looks good. Not so good: Abysmal communication. I had to essentially chase my service rep to deal with questions on basics, and generally received terse, poorly spelled, unpunctuated emails in reply. Not impressed. The one time I called the office (on the rep's instruction 'if I had any questions'), the person who answered (some guy) seemed surprised and a bit put out that I had the temerity to call. He didn't let me even finish my sentence before transferring me to, of course, voicemail. Confusing contract if you actually read it (and I did). Lack of guidance as to what their payment options and expectations are. Bottom line: In the end, I got the product I wanted, for a better price than the competition. But as I state in my Yelp profile, I grade on customer service, and I was not impressed at all. So....would I recommend them? Sure, I guess...they delivered the product for a good price, and if you're willing to put up with the poor customer service, you would probably be fine. Would I personally use their services again? Called John back and he set out to do the job and the crew did an amazing job. Since it was January they worked through our awful weather and got the job done as planned. I have used them a few times now for will call pickups. I am not a "home owner" but also not a fence contractor, they are very nice to work with and do not have that members only attitude most professional suppliers have. I got some pre made panels from time to time to use to secure job sites and to use for crowd control at our events. I was really happy that they would sell me fence by the foot for a patch project, not even home depot sells it that way and it was very easy to order and pickup. The products are nice quality, i have not had any issues with it, the panels were constructed well and are taught, an do not warp or bend. I also got some of the black coated chain-link and it looks very sharp and is easy to work with and is quite strong (kids constantly kicking the fence proves it. I can't tell you how their fencing construction was because I never got that far. The job Manager (Randy: the person that was suppose to do the bid) never finished the job. It was over 6 weeks of trying and him telling me 5 times he would email the bid that day, over 2 weeks, that didn't happen. In the beginning he told me they were 2 weeks out to do the job once the bid was accepted. Then told me he emailed it and didn't understand why I hadn't got it when I called him the 4th time in 2 days because that was the only way I got a call back. Other emails from Pacific Fence and all other places had come through fine and nothing in spam folder. Came through fine the next day when I finally called supervisor. I feel he lied. After I called supervisor the bid price increased from what he had verbally suggested it would be and then the job was 2 months out if accepted. He said I changed what I wanted but bc he hadn't even started the bid every time I called. Once, he didn't realize even what sizes they could order gates. I had to change my fence plan type. He said this is why it was so long. Plans where changed multiple times because he didn't clarify with me what the gate types where so when they where wrong type when I researched what he said he was putting in, I had to change twice. Then I changed again bc I was desperate and just simplified it as much as possible to get bid and get on waiting list. I have dogs I can't keep in without these gates being finished and it was going on two months to just get a bid sent to me. By then he was upset, I believe, because I called supervisor and didn't even want the job. The supervisor never called me back and no body there seemed to care at all whether or not they got a $7,000 dollar contract or not? Maybe they only care about bigger jobs I don't know but I felt there was a lot of incompetence. read more

7/12/18 I just want to take a second to acknowledge the good people at Pacific Fence & Wire Company. In the past few months we have had a rash of break-ins at our business where the intruders cut through our chain link fence and left gaping holes where they could crawl in and out and remove materials from our property. On one occasion, they stole one of our locked-up vehicles and drove the vehicle through our 19 ft chain link gate. When we arrived at work the following morning, our gate was completely separated from the fence and was laying in the middle of the street due to the impact with which they drove through the gate. We have tens of thousands of dollars of inventory inside of our fenced area so needless to say, if we do not have a fence that is completely intact, it presents a huge security issue for us. On each of the occasions above, Pacific Fence & Wire Company responded in unbelievable fashion. They made sure in each instance that before the end of the day, the integrity of our fence was back in place. One time in particular, they had guys come and do the repair after 5:00 o'clock, after they had finished another job they had been working on all day. I can't thank Pacific Fence & Wire Company enough for their commitment to us as a customer, their incredible response time and their understanding of how important it is for company's like ours to know that our property is secure. Absolute terrible customer service! Every time there was a concern or question my neighbor and myself who were both having jobs done, would have to leave multiple voicemails and emails and wait a week till they got back to us (project mgr John). They broke an irrigation pipe in my other neighbors property and told me tough luck when I notified them, that it was common and "in the fine print". I wrote a letter to their mgmt explaining my month of terrible service and got no reply. My neighbor had to really threaten them till they actually repaired their damage. The physical fence came out satisfactory. Just realize that by taking the low bid, you will get low quality service. read more
