The yard looks better than it has ever looked after a clean up service! I was shocked by how much was done - for the price quoted, not only were the weeds removed and lawn cared for, but the flower beds were weeded, trees and bushes trimmed, all leaves and rubbish removed, and my deck and front porch was left pristine as well. Juan and his guys were great. It's been years since we really cleaned up the bushes, trees and exterior parts of our lawn. All the bushes were overgrown and weeds were growing through my grass. The first job Juan did for me was to remove the ivy which has been a recurring problem. He was the first landscape contractor in 2 decades who knew what to do to kill it and the ivy has never gone this long without growing again. JA Bravo Landscaping Maintenance has done many projects for me. Juan has pressure washed sidewalks, vinyl fencing, large brick wall, and the asphalt parking lot; he did an excellent job taking care of my property while getting all the different areas clean and free from moss. Juan replaced damaged pavers. He has corrected jobs incorrectly completed by other contractors--like moving yards of blown in barkdust that was covering parts of my plants and too close to the bottom of the siding. Juan has a good knowledge of plants and their care; this is especially important because it is easy to have thousands of dollars invested in plantings. He just finished thatching, plugging, adding 3 mix soil and reseeding my lawn areas. If Juan has a crew working, he is present to supervise them. It is important to me that whatever the job, Juan has pride in his work and the project is well done. Just as important to me is: Juan will make an appointment to look at the project; he gives a firm bid; he shows up when he says he will and finishes the project when he said would. J engaged JA Bravo Landscaping (Juan) on April 13. 2023 for weekly maintenance service. As of this date (08/30/2023) Juan has arrived every Thursday (as agreed) to perform the following services. 1. Lawn mowing and edging. all hardscaping blown off. Rakes all bark chip covered beds each week for a neat appearance. 2. Fertilization (organic) the lawn 4 times a year. All shrubs regularly fertilized(organic), 3.Pre-emergent weed barrier applied once each year or as needed. 4.Seasonal leaf removal and winter debris clean-up (once each fall 5. Other tasks as needed. I have used several yard maintenance companies in the past. However, none have been as though and competent as Juan and his crew. "Great job"! I have paid some companies more and some less. We hired Juan for about 10 months over last year and this year. First job was to clear out some blackberries, overgrown and just get the yard back to looking great. They did a wonderful job and were reasonably priced. We then hired Juan for bi-weekly yard maintenance even during there winter months when there really wasn't a lot of grass to cut but we preferred to keep it consistent. We hired Juan on several other projects for landscaping and overall house and yard maintenance. Why a 1 star? Well because Juan does not follow up or follow through when you are not satisfied with his work. He did great at repairing a broken fence post but that was about the last good workmanship and follow through that Juan provided. We had him install a walkway with gravel and it was not very good as it was unevenly dispersed and made for the walkway to be sunken in and created a trip hazard because the gravel was not flush. I've include a picture. We were relocating out of the area and getting the house ready to sell and this walkway became an eye sore for every relator that came by. So after getting recommendations for listing our home, I asked Juan on one of his biweekly visits if he could even out the walkway and fix it and if he could do that, I'd give him the remaining business of work. He quoted me and we made an appointment to have him do that, apply bark-dust and a few other things to make the yard more appeasing. We had to reschedule once due to the painting of the exterior taking a day longer. Juan confirmed via text that was ok and he would do it. Well Juan never showed up and never followed back up. We had no idea he didn't actually complete the work as we relocated already until our realtor showed up to check in and make sure everything was ready. Juan didn't show and we had to find someone last minute, pay a premium, reschedule the listing date and put our house on the market 4 days later than planned. When the inspection on the house came back we were surprised by the inspection because we hired Juan to treat the roof for moss and to clean the gutters in the fall of 2020 and we had to pay again to another company because it wasn't completed. Overall Juan is a very nice person but unfortunately I can no longer recommend his business based off of these things that happened. I feel like when he found out we would not longer be a consistent part of his income monthly he didn't care. read more
