Worst company. I hate PG&E with all my energy, it's a scam ripoff company that kills people and then burns down our forests and raises customer rates to pay for their fuck ups. There's a place in Menlo Park where I charge my car for $0.11 per kWh, so it costs about $6 to fill up, if I had to charge at home with PG&E it would be more expensive than a gas car. I signed up for monthly automatic payments. When my credit card was renewed, I was never notified about a payment problem until a letter appeared in my mail. It said my power would be shut off if payment was not received by the stated date, and I didn't even receive the letter until AFTER the date stated above! I paid that Monday morning via my renewed credit card Monday morning, but my power was still shut off the following Thursday afternoon. To restore power, I was forced to make another payment of the same amount that same day! They did process that payment sooner than the first one. The end result was that now I have a credit amount for my account, and won't have to make another payment for several months. No wonder Pacific Greed and Extortion is one of the most hated companies in California with such incompetence. To avoid future problems, I have reverted to receiving monthly bills in the mail since I do not trust them at all! Besides, in my neighborhood in the northwest corner of Pacific Grove CA there has always been several power outages every year, some lasting twice as long as other areas due to their inability to adequately manage this utility, something I never experienced in areas of the country with much worse weather conditions. I will always hate them the rest of my life. Besides, they poisoned the groundwater in Hinckley Ca several years ago and caused a San Bruno CA neighborhood explosion that killed several people, as well as others from wildfires caused by their avoidance of modern equipment, all indicative of their greed! Despite this location being the only payment drop-off-only boxes, for the only office in the area where you can pay in person, even though I would rather pay my bill online instead of making a trip to Capitola. I can tell during this pandemic they don't want too many visitors, because they keep a lock on the door and sometimes I've had to knock in order to come inside. On a few occasions I was overcharged and the employees don't seem to care or admit to their mistake. So that's why I try to avoid going here unless I have to. Do yourself a favor and pay your bill online, it's much easier than dealing with a grumpy employee that acts like you are an inconvenience. read more

By far the worst utility company in the nation, I'M originally from back east where I still have a home in the great state of Maine and another home in the piney woods of northern Florida where utility costs are considerably less then Pacific Gas & Electric and service is impeccable . I'm heading back home very soon and just canceled one account and another to follow as soon as my home sells. When Hurricane Michael struck the Pan Handle of Florida our power was back on within a day, tree's are removed as a courtesy and only done with your permission, then again I'm not surprised based on how dysfunctional and challenged most Californian's are, everything here is done substandard and backwards, what they call a custom built home in California is track home quality where I come from, the hack and go south of the border engineering is a disgrace, this is for a whole different subject at a different time. Being an electrician and master carpenter for over 30 years I laugh when I see solar panels on roofs of homes knowing how the state doesn't allow you to be totally off the grid, this company is exploiting people of energy they are producing without a battery backup which is the whole purpose of solar energy to begin with. Well, I heard these guys will come and chop your trees down, didn't care much honestly. Then I came home and a live madrone was cut the hell down right on my property. It was on the opposite side of the street from the powerline. They are supposed to leave a note on the door - giving you three days to reply or object, (didn't get that).... then I had to pay a local worker $600 to remove the wood because it was obstructing our road. I'll cut and sell the wood to reduce the costs. BUT watch out PG+E will gut the tree right from your property LOOK for the orange markers they may or may not mark the tree. read more

This is generally the worst place in the world. I would rather go the dentist for a root canal with no sedation than have to pay my dreaded electric bill. There is often a wait of half an hour up to an hour, and it takes about 10 minutes to process each customer. With lines out the office they routinely leave the front desk to hide in their office. read more

This has to be the best experience I've ever had with the public utility company. Not only did they's fix my problem but they did it in spite of pouring down rain and a electrical line that was buried 6 feet under ground .
