Dr. Cui and her team are wonderful! Her staff is friendly and professional so it's a great experience coming in for regular cleanings. On top of that, Dr. Cui also responded to me very quickly when I had a weekend emergency and saw me the same day only a couple of hours after my call. I was shocked that I could get my emergency resolved so quickly. Dr. Cui even followed up later that day to make sure I was doing well after the procedure. One small thing that I appreciate is that they apply Vaseline to your lips before working on you to make sure your lips stay hydrated. All Smile takes a thoughtful approach to patient care - even in the little things. I highly recommend Pacific Heights Dental Studio. read more

I was referred to Vivian by co-workers several years ago when I worked in San Francisco. Although I live in the East Bay now, I still travel to see Dr. Cui for all my dental needs, I have never received better or more personalized dental care and refuse to see anyone else! read more

The team is very capable but we left after multiple visits where they attempted to upsell us on treatments we didn't need - I have seen many dentists before and after and never had been pushed to get so many random things. Moreover, instead of suggesting treatments they would say "how would you like to pay" and we would awkwardly have to say we wouldn't pay for the treatment as we weren't sure if it was necessary. Having seen two dentists after leaving them we were right. The kicker was they became out of network without telling us for over a year. And they also overbilled us and made hard to get our money back despite multiple contact attempts. Quality team if you don't care about price - which may be their client base - but otherwise we'd encourage you to look elsewhere. They are trying to maximize profit which I understand as medical professionals in SF but at time seem to do so at the expense of patients. **Adding a note that they posted my personal medical information on Google in response to my review which didn't address the issues raised. I've asked them to remove this without success. read more

--RESPONSE TO OWNER RESPONSE-- "Both of my front administrators took the responsibilities of their oversight. If I was notified in time, I would have offered you the service without charge." Well you weren't notified, and this is easy for you to say retroactively. "The second NG fit well but got returned to the lab for adjustment because of the additional feature-claps, which you requested to be removed" This is a lie. I clearly remember you trying to shove it onto my teeth and it wouldn't fit, and finally you gave up, admitting that the fit wasn't right. That's why you had to scan it AGAIN. This was nightguard 2/2 that I had to come back to get rescanned. I also did not want the CLAMPS THAT WERE ADDED WITHOUT ASKING ME AT ALL. YOU MADE THAT DECISION WITHOUT ASKING ME ANYTHING. Y'all want this liar to be your dentist? "However, storming out of the office after demanding two Starbuck Gift Cards, not returning follow up calls are not positively constructive." You wasted a $20 car ride plus an hour of my time. The least you could do is give me 2 measly $10 starbucks giftcards to make up for the ONE WAY car ride. I was offered one so I asked for another one because it only had $10 on it. Also, you did not send me ANY follow up calls. We briefly texted, and that's it. This is another flat out lie which honestly tells me everything I need to know about you and your business. If you take a close look at the low ratings here, they really expose this office for what they really are - a mess. read more

Wow!!! All i can say is WOW !! I was looking for a good dental place and i found them on yelp! I called in to book an appointment for a deep clean and the lady onthe phone was super nice. I came in and i noticed the place was SUPER SUPER CLEAN!!! IT MAKES ME FEEL SO GOOD KNOWING THE PLACE THAT WILL CLEAN MY TEETH IS CLEAN !! HAHA !!! The doctor came out and went over what I need to get done besides the deep clean. I felt really confident knowing that the doctor and her assistant knows what theyre doing! I hate going to the dentist and avoid ever going to get any work done! But I broke one of my old fillings, so it was time! Dr. Cui and the assistant Eloisa did an amazing job replacing some of my silver fillings from when I was a kid. They made sure I was doing OK throughout the treatment and I love how gentle handed they were! I was so nervous at first but became at ease! My experience went well after many years of avoiding ! read more

Dr Cui is superb. I had a relatively severe toothache and she fitted me into her busy schedule even though I was a new patient due to the retirement of my previous dentist. By far the best dentist office I have ever visited. They are always extremely kind. They are fair and truly care about your well-being. I was referred to this office by my little sister, who's in the dental field. My first impression of the office was that, it was located in a nice neighborhood with stores and restaurants. The office was very clean and they have massage chairs during your cleaning (which was a plus). From the front to the back, all the staffs including the dr was sweet and nice ! Thank you dr cui and team! I'm glad I listened to my sister to take care of my dental health! :) read more

Had a filling replacement by Dr Cui today. It was the most flawless and easy dental procedure I can recall having. She is very comfortable doing her work and as a result it goes smoothly according to my experience with her. Also my teeth feel like they fit together pretty naturally after which has not always been the case in the past, so again, pretty smooth work in my opinion. She's the best! read more

She took my insurance money, charmed me 4k for a partial crown that not once fit in my mouth. 6 months later the crown started causing more pin that the usual and she said it wasn't her fault. I am happy to pay, but this is just not a good place read more

Just realized that my very first review was quite poorly written (I was annoyed after having spoken to their front desk clerk, so did not take the time to proofread, and I was writing the review on my phone because in the car - as a passenger- away from a computer). New review (second review): After leaving this review, they called me back to tell me they would send the treatment costs covered by my first insurance to my second insurance, it's appreciated, but really wish it would have been done in the first place like my othe usual clinic does. Leaves a bad impression, but at least they tried to fix their mistake. First -edited for clarity- review: They wouldn't send the treatment costs covered by my primary insurance company to my secondary insurance company, which could have saved me a lot of time. Instead I had to search online on my secondary insurance company's website how to submit treatment costs covered through a primary insurance company and then wait on the phone to talk with a representative from my secondary insurance company to try and get them the dental costs covered by my primary insurance company, and I would have had to fill a lenghty and annoying form and then mail it to them since they don't have an any sort of electronic system for individuals. Whoever at Pacific Heights Dental Studio is in charge of speaking with customers could have been nicer in handling this and not sounding like talking to me was the worst thing in the world. read more

I've been going here for a few years now and while I can sympathize with some of the more negative comments, I think this practice has changed for the better in the last year or so. There was another dentist besides Dr. Cui before but she's gone. The office staff at the front desk has experienced a lot of attrition but the new young woman there now is efficient and friendly. Also, I had trouble understanding the billing since I use Delta Dental. I would get different info from the insurer website and this office. But that seems to have cleared up as well. So, look here-- this dentist did listen to her patients and has significantly improved and kudos, kudos to all of them! Recently, an old crown fell out on a Friday afternoon and I saved it and put it back where it belonged. I got an appointment the following Tuesday and Dr. Cui went to work basically saving the decayed tooth underneath with efficiency and skill along with the very nice and also skilled assistant. Took about 45 mintues of drilling, etc. A very comfortable temporary was put in place and 2 weeks later, my new crown arrived and was installed. The cost of all of this treatment including the crown cost me a little over $500 out of pocket with my insurance paying the rest. A bargain in my eyes. Also, it's very subtle but Dr. Cui has a great sense of humor that is worth paying attention to and makes the whole situation that much better. On top of that though, she is very focussed and skilled dentist in my opinion. That from someone who has a lot of dental work ;) So - thank you, thank you Dr. Cui for saving my tooth and my new crown that fits perfectly and for making the awful visit as painless as possible. Those of you who had a bad experience, I'd recommend another try here. It really deserves 5 stars for that alone :) read more

While the office is beautiful and staff are kind and courteous, they repeatedly gave me the wrong estimates of insurance reimbursement. This is resulted in a deficit in my FSA funds for the year, which had to come out of pocket. If they had given correct estimates I could have put off dental services to the next year. The incorrect estimates were for a partial cap and for fillings, which seems to me should have been easy to figure out. I've never had an issue like this before. I will be looking for a new dentist in 2020. read more

I normally never write negative reviews but just couldn't shake the need here. I recently moved and was looking for a new dental studio and thought I'd try this place starting with a teeth cleaning, here are the things that went wrong: 1. Had to wait 20 minutes because they were understaffed 2. The teeth cleaning was a lot less thorough than ANY of the cleanings I've done in the past (this would be reason enough to not return but there are more) 3. They took X-rays which is pretty standard with new patients/or old patients once a year, but I recently got the bill and this is the ONLY time I've ever had to pay extra outside of insurance (so they're definitely charging more than other places) 4. They found 6 "cavities" with the X-rays. Umm what? I take pretty good care of my teeth and floss everyday, and my last dentist did not find anything, how can 6 cavities develop in half a year? 5. I didn't want to schedule a follow up appointment at the end of the session but the receptionist was incredibly pushy and pressured me to schedule follow ups. This experience left a bad taste and I would strongly recommend others to reconsider. Needless to say I will not be returning read more

Going to the dentist is not something I usually look forward to. But Dr. Cui's office is not like any other dental facilities I've visited in the past. The difference is immediately apparent as soon as I walked through the doors and warmly welcomed by the receptionists. The cozy environment just makes me feel relaxed and at ease which is very important before any dental work. The quality of care is superb and all the staffs are very professional every step of the way, excellent communications. I walked out feeling refreshed and recharged. I went in for a tooth cleaning and a wisdom tooth removal consultation. I left with an infection so bad that I had to get emergency dentistry done a week later. Here is everything that was wrong with my experience here: 1. The dentist's "cleaning" took less than 20 minutes, and was done so poorly that it infected my gums and my wisdom tooth, which I had to get urgently removed a week later due to the infection she caused. The dentist that fixed this disaster said it was impossible I had gotten a cleaning just a week before, because she left so much plaque. 2. She recommended I do a 1000$ deep cleaning on my wisdom teeth before removing them, which 2 separate dentists confirmed was absolutely not necessary and a scam to get more money. 3. The prices I was quoted were 2x as much as necessary (confirmed by 2 dentists). 4. The dentist was dismissive, impatient, and spent barely any time explaining anything to me. 5. They canceled my appointment 2ce before I was able to come in. 6. They could not answer a single question about my insurance coverage (delta dental) when they work with them quite closely. They should know! SAVE YOUR TEETH AND YOUR MONEY: go elsewhere. Responding to Vivian's response: I mentioned my fiance before receiving a cleaning. An apology for the terrible experience and service would have sufficed, your passive aggressive response further demonstrates the office's philosophy. read more

Meet the Business Owner: Vivian W. C.

Dr. Cui graduated from University of Maryland, Baltimore School of Dentistry. While in school, she completed a clinical and research fellowship at the National Institute of Health, and focused on the trigeminal pain pathway of the head, face, and neck. Dr. Cui also provided dental services on a Navajo reservation while working with Indian Health Service in Arizona. Dr. Cui underwent extra training to provide complex prosthodontic care with cosmetics and implants, as well as a general practice residency at UCSF that gave her experience in full-mouth rehabilitation for medically complex and pediatric patients under general anesthesia. To give you the best possible service and results, she is committed to continual education and learning. Being a member of various professional dental associations helps her to stay up to date with evolving dental techniques, the latest products, and the newest equipment. All of this helps Dr. Cui provide state-of-the-art services to our patients.

The experience with the other Periodontist felt rushed, uninspiring, and it felt like they just wanted my money and required a deposit to schedule my surgery after 15 minutes with the staff and maybe 5 minutes with the doctor. So, I wanted a second opinion, and I am so happy I did! First, I want to talk about Dr. Temlock. He spent an entire hour with me at my initial consultation, and he really took the time to explain everything to me in terms that I could understand. I've never seen a doctor or dentist spend that much time with me! His chair-side manner was a 10/10, and I felt totally educated about my periodontal issue. He was there to answer all my questions, and he helped guide me through the anticipated surgery so I could make the right decision for MYSELF! He was so kind, patient, and genuine. This was almost the exact opposite of what occurred at the first periodontist's office. Second, his staff was super nice, and they helped me out every step of the way regarding the logistics. They need to be mentioned here too because they were so awesome too! I was very anxious about my surgery, but Dr. Temlock's knowledge, skills, confidence, and experience really put me at ease. I chose to be sedated for my procedure (and this was the best money I ever spent throughout the whole situation!), and I do not remember anything! I needed a really bad/cracked tooth removed, a sinus lift, and bone graft so I could get a dental implant. Sounds scary, right!?! Not with Dr. Temlock and Nashville Periodontal Group's staff! Everything went just as he explained it at the consult. He even called me the next day to ask how I was doing and answer my questions. I've couldn't believe the doctor actually called me instead of the nurse! Dr. Temlock really does care about his patients, and he even gave me his phone number in case I had any more questions over the weekend. Lastly, I returned to the office for my follow-up appointment about 3 weeks after the surgery, and Dr. Temlock saw me, took time to personally evaluate the surgical area, and answered all my questions again. I thought I was only going to see the assistant/nurse from Nashville Periodontal Group that day, but Dr. Temlock was the one who entered the room. I couldn't believe it! Dr. Temlock reassured me that I was healing great and right on schedule, and Dr. Temlock explained that everything was on course which helped calm down my anxiety too. Overall, I cannot thank Dr. Temlock and the staff at Nashville Periodontal Group enough! Everyone is so professional and understanding. From the first time I met Dr. Temlock through the last goodbye, I cannot thank him enough. Now that everything major is complete, I am going to get my teeth cleaned with Dr. Temlock's hygienists and alternate between my dentist's office and Nashville Periodontal Group. I had gone to several different dentists who repeatedly hit a nerve during the procedure, causing acute, agonizing pain. It was one of my top front teeth, so a replacement implant was tricky. In fact, I had multiple dental implant specialists turn me away, because they didn't feel like they could make an implant work in the same spot twice. But then I was lucky enough to find Dr. Pasquinelli. It was definitely a long process given the complexity of my case, but I really appreciated the fact that he didn't try to rush it, but recommended an approach that would provide the highest likelihood of success over the long term. I really wish had a before picture, because what he was able to accomplish both functionally and aesthetically is truly amazing. The "after" picture speaks for itself. His office staff is top notch, with Joseph and Myrna always friendly, proper billing, and ease in making appointments. My father needed some emergency dental work and Dr H. saw him immediately - without an appointment and continued to see us multiple times over a week to ensure dad was recovered. This type of personal care was a total surprise for me. Meeting Dr H was a pleasant surprise. I wish more Dr's would take a page from Dr H. 100% recommend Dr Bruce Hiura!
