Jerry was fantastic! I called from our office as a key to a file cabinet broke. We needed to get into the cabinet that day, another locksmith we have used in the past was unable to come out until the following day. Jerry was able to get to our office earlier than we expected and we thought he would have to replace the whole lock after the replacement key from our old locksmith didn't work. He was able to make a key that did work, and his charge was even less than he originally quoted. We'll definitely be calling Pacific Lock & Key for all of our locksmith needs going forward. Pacific Lock and Key is awesome. They showed up in 10 minutes after I locked my keys in my trunk.The guy (I think Jerry I'm terrible with names) was very friendly, professional and did the job way way cheaper than AAA had quoted me. Also way way cheaper than all the other mobile locksmiths I called. Fantastic service. Our 2000 Ford Focus had been having ignition problems for years when it finally decided to lock up and not start at all after we'd parked it in an illegal spot near our house (whoops!). After calling mechanics with no luck we were about to get it towed to a mechanic who wouldn't be able to look at it for days when it occurred to me to try locksmiths - these guys came out about 20 min after I called and had the car starting beautifully an hour later. And I'm sure for way less than a tow truck plus mechanic would have charged. read more

The keys that they cut work - not sure if it has anything to do with my lock but the keys Home Depot cut for me previously didn't work.

It's kind of silly to review a locksmith, or so I thought. I always figured that locksmiths were all the same, nothing special from one to the other. Before calling these guys I had only one other locksmith experience that was kind of impersonal, yet professional, which seems about right for a locksmith. But these guys were above and beyond what you would expect from a locksmith. Friendly, professional, good at their job. We had to have our new home rekeyed. The price that Pacific Lock quoted us was lower than some of the "Big Named" locksmiths and a friend had a good experience with them so I decided to give them a try. Very glad I did. They were very helpful (gave us some great suggestions on the types of new door lock sets that would match with the other existing locks on the home) and extremely prompt in responding to our home when we were ready to get rekeyed. My son locked the bathroom door and I couldn't pop it open the old fashioned way as a hanger didn't work in the hole. I called and the person on call ( it was after hours) spent time explaining that I needed a small flathead to catch and pop it open. He helped walk me through it to help avoid an expensive lockout fee. As I didn't have the right tools and my son was sleeping, he suggested I hammer the end of the hanger to create a custom flathead. It worked great. Props to how friendly he was, helpful and going out of his way to not charge me money. read more

Perhaps this guy can copy keys, but to claim that he's a locksmith is a stretch. I went in today to see if he could repair an old door latch, as the new style won't fit on this door. He told me it can't be done, I have to buy a new one. I even suggested that it looked like all he had to do was drift out a pin and replace a spring. No, can not be done. Really? It took me less than 10 minutes at the bench and 10 minutes at the hardware store to take down, clean all the old gunk out, re-lube and reassemble with the new spring ($.50) and it's as good as new. This guy was not only unfriendly, but unhelpful and either incompetent or simply lazy. read more

This place is great! I had been trying to get a key copied and had taken it to several different places including home depot, fred meyer, and lowes. None had the key in stock, as it was an older key. But pacific lock not only had the key in stock, but had a lot of them! The man behind the counter is super nice, and I had my new keys within minutes. Locked myself out of my sisters house when pet sitting for the weekend. I called Pacific Lock and Key because they were really close (less than one mile). He came, picked the lock on the back door in about 10 seconds and opened up the front door. He was at the house for all of 15 minutes. All I asked was to open the door so I could get in. The charge was $118. Outrageously high and I feel like he took advantage of me. When I called to question the charge he said he had to 'repair' the lock. He didn't ask me if I wanted him to repair anything, nor would I have agreed to it as it is not my house. Very nasty attitude and very rude. Started yelling at me. NEVER will recommend this person. He takes advantage of people who he thinks don't know about locks and are in a locked out situation. read more

I rolled up to Pacific Lock & Key on a 1982 BMW motorcycle with a rubbed-off, hand me down key and a set of luggage whose key blanks have been out of production since the late 1990s. Not only did Joe (Pacific Lock & Key's resident Jedi) find a way to re-create the ignition key, he actually FABRICATED a luggage key. I stood in awe as trial and error brought us closer and closer to a solution. In the end, I rode off with two perfectly functioning keys and the biggest imaginable grin. So many locksmiths have gone under due to the bad economy, I felt really lucky to find one still open. I was very impressed with the professional manner in which they did the work I requested. Needed a spare key made for my older Toyota. Went here because I figured they would know what they were doing. Person in the shop said they could do it but the locksmith who knew how to do it was out on a call, so she gave me their card and said to call before I come over to make sure the right person is in the shop. So, since it was just a spare I needed and I wasn't really in a hurry, I figured I would come back. So I called the next day and I actually got the guy who would do the work on the phone. I asked if he could do the key and he said yea sure. I told him I would be there in five to ten minutes, he said great. Ten minutes later I arrive and it is the same person as the day before with the same message that the guy who can do it is out on a call. Needless to say I will never waste my time with these guys again.
