Months passed as we got our project to the drywall stage. I let him know we had construction delays. Sam revisited the site to update the bid- his choice. I gave him a heads up 1000 sq ft may not require drywall finish- perhaps he could give an alternate bid option. He declined saying it's better to adjust the bid later. (Not in my experience... but ok). We accept the estimate then discover we're required to have additional work done in an attic space. Sam makes another site visit and says it will be "time and material" due to the difficulty of the work/ cramped location. 2 men @ $45 per hour each + materials. He'll write it up. Perfectly understandable, it's a difficult location. We receive the written estimate: T&M @$60 per hour each man + 15% more markup. Not the same as his verbal. He also wants plywood laid- for his guys to works off of. That's expensive. Boo. We find a different drywall company to do the attic work ($40 per hour each man). No plywood needed either. Yea! The day they finish the attic they give me an estimate on the other drywall work they see needs to be done. It's way less. Darn it. Discovered we didn't require 1000sf of drywall to be finished & let Sam know, he reduces our estimate slightly. With such a small adjustment there's a $2,800 difference (between attic workers vs River City). Yikes, that's a lot. I called River City to ask about the bid, had a friendly conversation with the office manager and she encouraged me to call and discuss with Sam. "He's a sweetheart" she says. "We want you to be happy" "It'll be fine, you can work it out". So I called Sam. Bad move. I let him know we received an unsolicited bid and asked if there was any wiggle room to meet in the middle...or...just closer. Needless to say a "sweetheart" Sam was not. He was focused on the difference between his estimate and the other company and insulted the other workers. (Yeah, the guys we hired simply because his verbal/written bid was jacked up $20 an hour per man.) I told him my intention wasn't to change drywall contractors it was just to clarify pricing. He was rude, unprofessional and said his estimate was off the table- they wouldn't do our job. "If you want Labor Ready quality work from unlicensed, uninsured workers with no overhead you're now free to get it. But you better put your savings in the bank, you'll need it when they don't stand behind their work and you have to pay for repairs". I called the office manager back to let her know how the call went. She assured me River City would do our job regardless. We could bypass Sam and go through her. In the end we chose the other company. They're licensed, bonded insured, and happy. They do awesome work, and are stress and drama free! Zero stars for you River City...

Had two guys from River City Drywall come out and do some work on our house. What a difference two…read morecraftsmen and a couple of hours can bring about. We have an older home, and there were two interior doors in the kitchen. We had long since removed those, but all the framing and trim remained. I finally removed that and made the door openings physically just a little wider. The big difference came when the River City drywallers came in and did their magic. They finished the opening with sheet rock, using rounded (bull nose) corners. What a difference! That really opened the room up! They were fast, neat and clean. Could not have asked for anything more. I had it painted before my wife came home, and it looked like a miracle had occurred.

One time a few years back I had problems connecting with Jim and I had another company come to do an annual tune up and replace a light- well, that didn't go well- that's the subject of another review-but it reinforced for me that Jim is 'the guy'. Jim is competent, absolutely knows my Mendota insert and knows how to expertly keep it in tip top order. Jim also installed my Navian tankless water heater some 11 years ago. I have referred several friends to Jim and he has installed and maintained their gas products too. He can be hard to find sometimes- not a big media presence but he is the best!

He took most of the trash but he left like 3-4 bags of trash in my property after he told me he took everything. He also didn't finish the floors and I paid him fully. He sent me pictures and the floor looked good overall but he left a whole room without adding the quarter round trim and did not finish the termination on the top of the stairs. I noticed this when I returned to the property but by then he had ghosted me.

I had them stain a portion of my fence, and it turned out absolutely beautiful. The results speak for themselves--I even took photos to show off how clean and polished it looks. They also helped me haul away two sets of couches and some trash. What impressed me most was how carefully they handled everything. They professionally wrapped the furniture in cellophane before moving it, transported it with care, and then unwrapped and staged it perfectly at the delivery location. It was seamless and thoughtful service from beginning to end. What really stood out to me was their eye for quality. Avoid This Landscaping Company - Unfinished, Poor Work & Overcharging…read more I hired True Depth Servies, with the owner Shakir, for three projects: 1) tilling and adding soil, 2) installing sod in a muddy dog play area, and 3) building garden beds. Unfortunately, my experience was a complete disaster. * Soil Tilling - This was barely done and left in a sloppy, uneven mess. They didn't even start tilling until 4 or 5 in the evening, and only after my wife and I went out with a shovel to check if it had been done. It was clear they had not started until that moment. The quality of work was extremely poor. * Sod Installation - The job was never fully completed. The area is still missing grass on all sides, and instead of addressing the issue, the landscaper claimed the sod supplier "gave extra sod" and then tried to charge me more unexpectedly. To make matters worse, the amount of sod left on-site--still sitting in my yard--is exactly enough to have finished the job. Yet, they left without completing the work. * Garden Beds - While they looked okay at first, the landscaper failed to put down a layer of sand before finishing. After we had already paid him $2,500 just for this part of the project, he casually mentioned, "Oh yeah, I might add some sand to the soil." We were incredibly unhappy with this lack of professionalism and oversight. To make matters worse, the landscaper was difficult to work with, unprofessional, and even intimidating. I paid nearly $5,000 for this project, and I feel completely ripped off. If you're looking for a reliable, professional landscaper, I strongly advise avoiding this company. Save yourself the headache and hire someone reputable.
