So far, i have spent a night here. Here is how it went! I arrived 2 and a half hours before checkin. They allowed me to keep my bag at the bell hop while i explored nearby area's. Headed Pearlridge Center for a while. Side note: uber from here to mall was like 13 bucks. mall to hotel was like 40! Came back to the hotel, checked in and everyone was all genuine smiles the entire time! EVERYONE exudes that... that... THAT ALOHA! there's no other word for it, honestly. The rooms are quaint but charming. You can find videos on youtube from other guest, and they are all pretty accurate. this is no 5- star ritz, but it's still very welcoming and enjoyable! Yes, they have a pool that's maintained. No hot tub, but it's Hawaii. You can do without a hot tub just fine The only thing that held back that last star is that the AC takes a bit to cool the room. Everything else is solid! First time traveling to the beautiful islands of Hawaii? Don't worry about packing the bathroom stuff and little travel things. Their general store has everything you'll need! from a rubber slippas to beach towels, snacks and even travel sized items, they got it here, so don't stress about the little things. Come out and enjoy!

    Mold or mildew?

The good: It's close to the airport, and there's a free shuttle. The bad: The rooms are terrible. Mold or mildew in the shower, the A/C is loud and barely generate cool air, the staff barely seemed to care, though they appeared to try to be helpful. A text asked how things went, and yet did not respond. The faux concern was consistent with the overall unpleasant experience.

I paid about $200 just to stay at a place like this (one night). It was really a bad experience. We did get a ride from the airport which was very close (maybe even 6 min). The lady who picked us up was nice. The room was extremely small. The AC looked like it was gonna fall off. The AC made so much noise the whole time. The tv had no sound until you put it to 80. The vents looked nasty. There was definitely fire hazard how the wires were. The fridge didn't work.

Have shuttle on time when we called. Never showed and we took a taxi for $20 after an hour wait. Upon arrival, even though we booked with Expedia, we were charged $117.95 more for the five days! Restaurant, go to China Lagoon. They don't actually have a restaurant but friendly smile and just about any drink. Room: Out-of-date and tiny for two. A/C worked but no daily housekeeping. Coffe served down stairs. They also have a small, damp laundry room. Fair job. $3 each load, card or quarters. Would we stay here again? NO! Two years ago they charged us for the week even though we had a legal issue on the Mainland. I tried to talk with on-site manager and to no avail... we lost that money. We stayed in the hopes we would get refunded or the same days they took from us. Don't trust them with money. Most of the staff were somewhat friendly and the not so friendly ones should get a different job.

I've been staying here for years. My last trip was just a few weeks ago. I appreciate the fact that there is now a fence around the parking lot - a new addition since my last visit. Parking is tight, especially in the evening, but the front desk / security is willing to help find a space - even if it's at the restaurant. The front desk staff is friendly. The shower gets hot - the water pressure is very strong. The room is comfortable enough to get a decent night's sleep. There's always coffee in the lobby and the little hotel store ahas a variety of things available to eat/drink. You do have to pay cash/card as they will not allow you to charged to your room. Conveniently located close to the airport.

Everything from the time I called in last minute check in date of and pet friendly! The hotel I believe have been at the lagoon For ages, passerby and going to the Chinese restaurant in the complex of the hotel. I decided to call on behalf of my 92 year old mom will not be able to away from home during the prepping of the fumigation. Luckily there was a large room availability for three adults and pets. I consulted with the staff about my situation of our capture of our ‍ a tall security man enters the convenience shop he helped us with getting a long stick to capture her to her cage. Hubby took her home. We spend our one night in comfort! The television we had no idea on how to change channels so we left on as is. To my surprise next morning I saw an oldie "The Monkees" 3-4 young lads that I was in their fan club in my junior high school years mid 60's! I'd like to go back again to stay to swim in their pool... staff all friendly and the bar lounge next to lobby awesome we had our happy hour welcome text message we went to have one drink before our dinner at our favorite Chinese restaurant. They also have an outdoor sitting area with a fireplace cozy quiet garden area. I highly recommend either short stay or transitional passengers from the airport they have their own vehicle to pick passengers.

Jan 10 - 16, 2024. 2 twins. This is a 3 star hotel, my second time staying here. First time was in the early 2000s and I thought it was an ok stay back then. This time around, I made sure to be more observant and to take in the entire experience. Upon arrival, I went to check in and Filo helped me. Filo was informative and courteous, she made the checking in process so much easier! (I had 2 reservations and Filo made sure to note that I'd like to stay in the same room and also explained what I needed to do to make sure things went smoothly - I appreciated her help!). Our room was exactly as described on the website - small room with 2 twin beds and a bathroom. No frills. Although I wished they'd have put a sitting chair in the room for, you know, sitting. lol Parking is onsite and free! I'd advise that you do not stay out too late or you may find yourself looking for a parking spot - I found this out when my son and I returned after 10:30 pm and ended up having to park along the side of the building (with the help of hotel security, of course!) If this happens to you, make sure you go to the office so that the hotel staff or security can help you out. There is an onsite pool and it's beautiful, except it was open for a day or 2 during my 6 night stay. Why, I don't know and didn't ask because I didn't plan on using it. So, if the pool is important to you, ask about it. There is also a restaurant onsite, the Lagoon Chinese Restaurant, which I've heard (from locals) is good. There is also a bar but I didn't note the name. Overall, stay was good. Service was good (be nice to the cleaning staff and they'll return the favor!). In fact, every staff member I interacted with was nice and professional. Recommend? Yes, especially if you're looking for inexpensive accommodations. I used to live here and this hotel was in prime location, easy and fast to get anywhere - waikiki and East Honolulu, as well as the other side of the island, Waianae, etc. Also, I loved not having to pay $40 a night for parking as I did in Waikiki, or driving around in circles looking for parking. Return? Next time I'm in town, YES!

This hotel is the worse I've been in... for the money it's not worthed. The AC is a window unit With a trash can outside, under the AC unit to catch dripping water. Be your own bellman, get your own bag, the only thing that's ok is probably the parking, compared to downtown Waikiki. The upgraded room is a joke... and the asking price? Don't go by the pictures online... what a mistake that is. This is a hotel that still has jalousie windows, circa 1950s... and the nearest anything is miles away. This is just us checked in. .. and we are here at 4 nights? The only thing is this weekend is the Honolulu marathon, expected over 35,000 runners... do not book this hotel based on the pictures online... it is nothing like that

Better than what I expected ! Pacific Marina Inn was my saving grace after an epic trial with Mokulele airlines. We were treated with genuine hospitality from pick up, check-in and check-out. All staff were all nice and honest. They may not have the best of the best facilities but they have everything you'll ever need. At the lobby, they offer free coffee for guests (which is a 5 star service), they also have mini grocery store that is open 24/7. Our room was ok (again, not 5-star) but it has TV, Wifi, microwave, fridge and the bathroom has all the sustainable amenities like lotion, body wash, shampoo etc. I am shocked to see that they have low stars but if you look into it; this place is worth it considering the price you'll pay. Better than other 3-star hotel brands for sure. Great job Pacific Marina Inn, you guys saved my 25th birthday. Thank you so much!

The Banyan Wing is the original Victorian-era building which is listed on National Historic Registry and houses the main lobby and restaurant. The number of guests and visitor who circulate through this property daily is incredible. Including the Tower and Surfrider Wings, it has 791 rooms. Our Tower room had a great covered patio with incredible views of Waikiki and Diamond Head. We spent a lot of time on the patio watching the surfers, catamarans, and enjoying the island breeze. Our balcony was spectacular :o Our room was updated and very comfortable. I understand the owners completed a full renovation of all rooms in 2026. The beach bar is one of the best in the world. Cold cocktails, beer and wine. Good service. Great views! The drawbacks.... The pool is small and very crowded, especially for 791 rooms. With that said everyone in the pool was smiling and having fun. The beach is also pretty small for such a massive hotel. At high tide the hotel only has about 30 feet of beachfront and it is a public beach so it is crowded Rio style. For us this was not a drawback as we love Waikiki, the birthplace of Hawaiian surfing, and spend most of our time in the surf. Hawaii and Waikiki is one of the few places that completely lives us to the hype year after year and generation after generation. We can't wait to return. Aloha & Mahalo

After visiting and eating at this resort in years past, we were excited about the opportunity to…read moreactually stay here. So much history as shown throughout the resort especially on the second floor, but also the open Victorian architecture which presents a relaxing atmosphere. Our friends thought we were "rich" for being able to stay here but I don't recall the prices being too different than other hotels in the area. We also got a great offering through the American Express card. We arrived on island early afternoon and attempted to stay up as late as possible. However, we were given a room on the second floor of the historic side of the hotel where they host events on the patio area outside our room. While we were trying to sleep at 8-9pm, a festive wedding was going on with their DJ blasting music, people dancing, yelling, the DJ trying to motivate the audience, etc. It was not a fun night as my wife complained to the hotel staff about the noise interfering with our ability to sleep. It's not the fact the wedding was occuring, but rather the fact the hotel staff didn't let us know they were putting us next to the hotel night club of sorts. Hawaii is typically laid back and quiet, which this was not. The hotel staff sympathisized and mentioned the wedding would be finished by 10pm which it was, and tried to make things better. On day 3 around 4am, the hotel fire alarm sounded and advised everyone to vacate the building. When we vacated, we learned it was a false alarm. This was our last day at the Moana Surfrider which we assumed was a sign the resort wasn't meant to be a relaxing experience for us. The hotel has activities associated with the resort fee such as yoga, that we registered for. It was my first time doing yoga despite mention by my wife over the years to do it. I figured it would be a pleasant surprise for her if I signed us up, and it was a great class out on the same patio area as the wedding. I won't say it was fun for me, but it was an experience that we both enjoyed. The room itself was small which I assume is because it was part of the historic side of the hotel. There wasn't a balcony which we've come to appreciate especially in Hawaii to be able to go outside, view the water, and smell the air. Instead there was a window which we tried to orient ourselves in to get a picture of us with our welcome leis and Waikiki Beach in the background. Very challenging to appreciate a window as well as find space in the room to lay out two large suitcases without having to relocate furniture. The shower leaked water onto the bathroom floor as the cracks in the glass were not sealed so there was a constant wet towel on the floor. The bathroom in general didn't seem very modern considering the hotel had recently undergone years of modernization. Housekeeping was good and treated us well with towels and drinking water. I believe the Tower rooms of the hotel might be more modern and larger, as well as away from the event area of the hotel. I think we would look at other options in the future as we also spent a few days each during this trip at the Sheraton and The Royal Hawaiian which provided a much different experience in comparison.

WORDS TO DESCRIBE Halepuna Hotel: Modern, clean, safe, economically and environmentally friendly (bamboo room cards, water dispensers for your reusable water bottles), bright, airy, quality service in hospitality and room service LOCATION I loved staying at the Halepuna Hotel. It was centrally located at the beach walk, so ABC Store, shops, restaurants, and the beach were all within walking distance. *It was difficult finding the location of the hotel, when we first arrived. There was no big sign that you can spot, while you're driving, so my landmarks I always looked for were the ABC Store and Denny's. STAFF/SERVICE: Everyone that we came across during our stay was very friendly, generous, kind, and attentive. A shoutout to the Valet Service crew, especially RJ. He gave us recommendations for where to go. He always made us smile and laugh with his jokes. Thank you Uncle! AMENITIES: ROOMS Our room was equipped with charge stations-usb and usb c compatible plugs, ironing board/iron, mini fridge, ice bucket, tea kettle, and coffee maker. BATHROOM Well stocked with towels, a drying cord, blow dryer, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. I appreciated that instead of your standard toilet, the hotel had bidets! *Great water pressure for showering. The tub was also spacious, if you wanted to take a bubble bath. 8TH FLOOR GYM-Equipped with a lot of machines Water dispenser Additional restrooms/shower room LAUNDRY ROOM is open 24/7 There are 3 washers and 4 dryers You can pay using your credit card or download the WASH CONNECT app *Friendly suggestions: -As a guest, bring your own laundry soap/dryer sheets--or go to the ABC Store if you forget your laundry supplies -Make sure to clean the lint trap before you put your clothes in -Put a timer on your phone to check on your clothes GARDEN -Serene, tranquil, peaceful, spacious -------- Friendly Suggestions for Halepuna Hotel -Have a big sign stationed outside the hotel, perhaps elevate the height of the sign and add lights to it, so it's easy to spot for first time visitors ------- All in all I enjoyed staying at the Halepuna Hotel. I worked incredibly hard to bring my family to Hawaii, and I am extremely disappointed that so much of our time at Hilton Hawaiian Village was spent dealing with problems that should never have become our responsibility. Over three nights, we experienced two separate water leaks and repeated hot-water issues. These weren't minor inconveniences--they significantly disrupted our family vacation. The worst night, I slept approximately two hours. With water leaking into our room, I chose to stay awake and deal with the situation myself because I didn't want maintenance repeatedly coming into the room and waking my 1-year-old and 3-year-old children. Instead of resting and enjoying the next day with my family, I was exhausted because I had essentially spent the night protecting my children's sleep while dealing with the hotel's maintenance problem. That is unacceptable at a resort of this caliber. Management eventually provided compensation, and I appreciate that they acknowledged the situation. However, I absolutely do not believe the compensation matched the severity of what we experienced. I didn't work all year and spend thousands of dollars bringing my family to Hawaii to spend a significant portion of our vacation calling guest services, dealing with leaks, worrying about hot water, and effectively helping manage Hilton's property. Money can be refunded. Vacation time with my children cannot. For the price and reputation of this resort, our experience fell dramatically below what any family should reasonably expect.

The manager Ira listened to my concerns as I showed her my pictures. She immediately apologized and ask that I email the pictures to their corporate office. Which I did once I arrived back to the mainland. In the room there's a finger or toenail clipping on the carpet between the console and couch. Also you can also see that portion of the carpet has not been vacuumed. The clothed bench in front of bed was extremely stained and filthy. So filthy that I covered the bench with a bath towel if I needed to sit down. Also the refrigerator was very dirty. I chose not to put any food items in the fridge because of this. Also the bottom of the toilet is stained with either fecal matter, urine or maybe it's rust. If so, clean it then use caulking. These are the concerns I have with room 403. Hopefully I'll be hearing from upper management in regards to my unpleasant stay in room 403. The best part of staying at this hotel was the show Auana which is located at this hotel. Needless to say I will not stay at this hotel again.

I love that it is in the heart of Waikiki, very walkable to shopping and nightlife should you want to leave the grounds of the resort. The nightly local music with hula under the sky is magical. Reservations for dinner, or grab a first come first serve cocktail table at 5 to watch the sunset! There is also nightly jazz in the bar. La Mer is a one of a kind French experience and Orchids is fantastic for any meal of the day. Just outside the hotel is a delightful oceanfront park where the hotel hosted yoga each day. A highlight for me. Great poolside service. The beach is small, so if you are looking to lounge on the beach, that's not really much of an option. This hotel is a member of the Leading Hotels of the World. So you know it has the highest standards. That brand has never steered me wrong. And the fact that it is not under a massive hotel chain umbrella means it can maintain its authentic individuality. Pro tip: if you have a late flight, there is a lounge where you can relax and prepare for your departure, as check out is 11am.

Extremely rude and unprofessional service coming from one of the male bartenders…read more I was accosted while coming out of the restroom , with him frantically asking if I paid the tab, treating me like some sort of criminal. The restroom is in the restaurant area. I never once left the restaurant throughout the entire evening. I was simply on my way to pick up my drink from the seating area and then head to the bar to pay. He told me I was "going the wrong way" when the way I was going would have led to me to the bar... The way this team handles tabs in this bar is abysmal. Right when I sat down, I was attempting to give my bartender my credit card to start a tab. They refused to accept my card and said don't worry about it, and that they'll take it after I'm done. I explicitly told the bartender that I was going over to the lawn right next to the bar (still in the restaurant area) to get a better view of the musical performance, drink in hand. They said go ahead. Nobody should be treated like this

TRANQUILITY! 4.8…read more We stayed here during the first half of our most recent trip to the island, mainly to compare it with another property/residence that we really like and wanted to make a direct comparison. We also used our American Express Platinum Hotel Credit benefit, and it was great that this hotel qualified for it. Ka Laʻi is one block from the beach, backing up to Fort DeRussy Park, a military reservation, and is surrounded by many shops and restaurants, especially along Luxury Row, which is a non-negotiable visit for us. There is so much aloha felt here, with the staff always greeting us with genuine smiles and a willingness to help. The hotel is quiet and soothing, perfect for a relaxing stay. We checked in seamlessly and were provided with cold, refreshing water upon our arrival. Our room was spacious and felt very cozy, with beige carpet and tile flooring, brown furniture, and dark cabinetry in the kitchen. In the seating area, there was a large full-size sofa, an upholstered side chair, and a coffee table. The long dresser and closet provided plenty of storage. A lovely welcome treat was left in our room: two Ka Laʻi reusable water bottles, Hawaiian semi-sweet chocolate, and Beach Brittle. These items were a very nice touch. If you feel inclined to enjoy more Beach Brittle, you can purchase it downstairs in the small shop next to the spa. The bathroom had a double-sink vanity with plenty of counter space, which is a must for me, a large soaking tub, and a wet shower area. It was a generously sized bathroom with plenty of room to move around. Our stay included a wonderful breakfast buffet at Inyō. There was an omelet station with a chef preparing made-to-order omelets, along with a variety of beautiful fresh fruit, hot and cold breakfast items, rice, and Asian-inspired bites. The infinity pool is located near the restaurant, Inyō. It's tiled in a beautiful blue that adds a nice contrast to the tan backdrop of the neighboring high-rise buildings. The pool is long and narrow, accented by a series of raised, tiled planter islands that provide a bit of privacy between guests. We were too busy to swim or enjoy the other amenities, but just walking around the grounds was incredibly relaxing. It's a very peaceful place to stay, unlike many of the larger hotel brands. The standout at this hotel was definitely the service. The staff always made eye contact, greeted us warmly, and either asked about or anticipated our needs. This is a hotel that is definitely worth returning to.

That came in clutch as the beach showers were out of service. The valet people were so kind and got to know their patrons immediately. There were also so many people on stand by for your every beck and call. I especially loved the cafe located on the 7th floor on the way to the pool that had a full espresso machine for your needs. Those ladies that worked there were the best!! They were always ready for my redundant questions. The pool was spectacular. We went swimming during the sunset and it was just the coolest spot. There were plenty of kids swimming when we were there, so we felt at home having a small child as well. The pool has sunscreen ready, cold water, and towels for your pool session. Even though it didn't have bells and whistles, my daughter still enjoyed the child friendly ledges. We got the one bedroom suite with the kitchen and living room. We had two balconies with a partial view and they were both gorgeous. It got a little loud at moments due to the proximity of the downtown Waikiki energy, people playing music loudly on scooters and ambulances, but it never woke us up or annoyed us. I felt spoiled here. I properly pampered and I am excited to have an opportunity to stay again. Kid approved, mommy approved.
