Then when you get the text from him you find your self going back and forth and back and forth. He also stated that his technicians can not paint match that only he can paint match. His communication is terrible on the texts and you have to go back and forth. He states he has sent texts yet you do not have the text. I've used Pacific Match Paint for a couple projects and had pleasant experiences each time. Initially a friend referred me to them to refinish brake calipers that I purchased used from Europe but the seller neglected to inform me of how bad some scratches were on a couple of them. Got in contact with Rich, who is very receptive via text, and I brought them down to have them work on my BMW M3 calipers. Glenn, one of the repairmen, was able to mask off the original logos while repainting the rest of the caliper, blending it perfectly and coated the logos to help protect them from any future damage. Look good as new. Second project involved repairing our RAV4 rear quarter panel, which had deep scratches after someone/thing pushed a street sign onto it. Glenn made a mobile service since I live far from their shop, and in a few hours fixed the scratches and sprayed it to match the rest of the car without having to spend time waiting for a body shop to make the repair. Had my bumper refinished. The first time the color was wrong and had a tint of yellow. I had them redo it and they actually made it worse. The color was definitely closer but it was too dark and honestly I will need my bumper completely repainted at another shop to fix it. I regret having my bumper refinished here. I've used them several times in the past 9 years for issues ranging from dents on my bumper to scratches, and each time, they return my car looking like new. They provide quality work. Even after years under the sun or rain, their paint doesn't crack or discolor. They're also very honest and will let you know ahead of time what they can and can't do. Heck, they'll even refuse service because they're not one to take a job where the customer won't be happy with the results. They offer competitive and affordable pricing. We just used Pacific Match Paint for the second time and were as pleased this time as the first time. I scratched up my brand new Honda Odyssey (ugh), that I bought just over a month ago. I was so upset I ran to the dealer where we bought it hoping they would have some sort of pity on me and at least give me a "good deal" on repairing it. Well, their "deal" was almost $1400 and I would have had to leave the car there for close to a week and borrowed or rented a car. Bad experience. I wanted to get a small repair done so I set up an appointment. The day came and I asked them to come to my place instead (since they "advertise themselves as mobile auto repair" even though that's nowhere to be seen in Groupon) but I was told it was going to be $75 extra even if I live in Orange County. I drove down to their office only to be told I can't stay to watch the repair done because it makes the technician uncomfortable and it could be a liability for the company even though I am 30 feet away from the vehicle and all I would get is an apology since I wasn't told before and a free trip to Irvine spectrum for 5 hours. What a joke. I wasted time and gas. I didn't get to experience the quality of the job but the communication is below professional standards. Update: In response to the comment below. I have a 2015 3 series BMW lease return that I needed to have repaired and after seeing what the dealership AND a local body shop was going to charge, I was on the hunt for other options. I am someone who does a lot of research before jumping into something and all of the reviews were spot ON and for a third of the price! Because I live inSan Clemente and the shop is in Laguna Hills, I was able to communicate with Rich via email VERY easily. They are mobile, but it was better for me to bring it to them. I sent him some photos of my scratches and he was prompt and up front about what he and his team could do. Everything from scheduling, pricing, coordinating schedules and the final result was just AMAZING! Glen, the artist that did the actual work was so so great and nice and I am just amazed at how beautiful the car looks. They also gave me a referral to a dent specialist for a minor hood crease that was taken care of in less than an hour for AGAIN a third of the price or less, AND he came to my home. It's been over 4 years since we've needed Pacific Match (thankfully, no offense) but the wife pulled a "me" and brushed her car against the interior wall of our garage thus doing some minor damage to the front fender area of her vehicle. We were fortunate enough to have the owner come out and do the work. Rich was very personable and terrific at explaining our options after examining the vehicle in person. His e-mail quote with our submitted photos did mention 2 service options. One was more of a color sanding/buffing/touch-up type option and the other was the full color match service. Since her vehicle was over 5 years old and the exterior isn't in pristine condition we chose the lower cost option. These are some factors to consider. Another factor is to be self-aware and ask yourself are you a "flaw girl" or a "flaw boy" who notices every imperfection in something? If so, do the FULL service. Rich was able to get her vehicle to about 90% which was even a bit better than he had estimated via email. He went over and beyond the call of duty. When he told us he'd been doing this nearly 20 years we were blown away. Possibly Rich (looks quite young) started when he was 10? :) If either of us mess up again, we won't hesitate to use Pacific Match once again. But we're crossing our fingers that it doesn't happen anytime soon. read more
