The instructor did a great job preparing my teen daughter for her behind the wheel driving test.

Kim is an excellent driving instructor however Lorie is a nightmare come true. She was being extremely passive aggressive towards my sister during her last class not only that, she put her hands on my sister. While they were sitting at an intersection Lorie was telling her where she needs to be looking in order to cross the intersection safely, my sister simply said okay but didn't look over, instead of Lorie pointing something out in the surrounding area and saying to actually look she moved my sisters head and put it up against the window which is incredibly inappropriate and unprofessional. Along with that whenever she would do something wrong she would grip her arm tightly and say " look you're doing it again" while she was driving which is completely unsafe. At the end of the appointment my sister was crying due to lack of respect Lorie showed, Lorie was also indicating that she wasn't the first student that she made extremely uncomfortable. If you're going to book here I would highly recommend asking for Kim unless you want your child to be belittled and extremely disrespected. For almost $800 I at least expect respect.

As a parent, safety is my biggest concern, and I wanted to make sure my daughters understood how to drive safely, so I decided to try one lesson with East Bay Driving School. They told me they learned more in one lesson with East Bay Driving School than they did in three lessons with the other school. That really impressed me. The instructors helped build their confidence and understanding of the road. Now that my youngest needs driving lessons, I came back to East Bay Driving School without hesitation. Their customer service is excellent, they are responsive, and they communicate in a timely manner. I highly recommend East Bay Driving School to any parent looking for a driving school that genuinely cares about teaching students to be safe and confident drivers. As a parent, knowing my kids are learning the right way gives me peace of mind!

After the second one she was able to drive on the highway. The third session was used to practice routes that a typical DMV behind the wheel test does.. that was helpful to understand and I was able to take my daughter a few more times to practice before the actual exam day. At the end, her driving test was successful and she was able to get the license. We will definitely recommend the school as the owner, Sheri, is very responsive and they offer weekend classes too.

We met Mike on his Off-road Experience through a friend in Nevada…read more It seemed like he knew about older Rovers, even though his conversations with anyone around were always a rough and a little rude. When we came back from the trip we brought in our '95 Range Rover soft dash for a service and to tackle some engine issues. He almost immediately gave us the bad news that he thought the engine needed a full rebuild. We trusted him and we left the vehicle. Initially we were given an estimate of 4-6 weeks. 2 months later we had to call him to ask where we were with the rebuild. He said he hadn't even started and that he was busy prepping his race car. We asked what the issue was and he didn't have an answer and said we can always just come pick up our vehicle. We came to pick up the vehicle and he assured us he could do the engine and would start shortly. This was confusing, but we left the vehicle and waited for him to complete the work. Finally in a couple more months we got a big bill, which he said we were only able to pay by check or cash. Honestly we were excited to pickup the car and didn't really think anything else of it. We drove out of the shop and got on the freeway when the car started smoking. We called Mike and he gruffly said that it was fine and just oil burning off. By the time we arrived at home, we live in the Danville area, the car was barely operational. We called Mike again who told us he had a few restorations underway and he didn't have time to look at it. We called a third time and he said there was really no way he could help us, but in a completely rude way. I couldn't believe it. I'd never been talked to that way on the phone by anyone. We figured out why he wanted us to pay with a check so we couldn't get any recourse of the payment. We ended up having to go to another shop and completely rebuild the engine again. We found out he billed us for new parts when they were used and broken in addition to cutting gaskets and hoses roughly by hand so it looked like a mess under the hood and spilled oil and coolant everywhere. The final conclusion we wanted to share was that Mike is beyond rude, a poor mechanic, an unethical businessman and a dishonest person. I would suggest avoiding this shop at all costs since the alternative was our expensive mistake with our beloved RR "soft dash".

My main instructor was booked out and also went on vacation, so I thought I would miss the chance to take my test. I found Bay Hill on Yelp and decided to book them for two things: 1. A two hour crash course in preparation of my test. 2. Vehicle rental for the test + 30 minute prep before. The two hour crash course was perfect. My instructor was calm, gave great instructions and made it so easy to feel comfortable behind the wheel. He was able to frame things that I needed work on in a way that I was able to process and internalize. By the end, he had me Feeling confident going into my big day. The day of my test, I met with JP at the DMV 45 minutes before my appointment. He walked me through the car I rented and what to expect for pre-test check (which was exactly how it went down, so I was well prepared for it.). Then we did some practice runs of the test route while JP very detailedly pointed out things I need to do and what examiners will look for during the test. Then he lined up with me until it was my turn. The entire time, he patiently answered any questions I had and it's clear from my time with him that he loves what he does and genuinely does his best to make you feel as confident and prepared as you can be for your test. Long story long, I passed my test and JP and the Bay Hill Driving School team deserve credit even though I only took two lessons with them. As an adult going for their license, you deal with way more self-doubt and anxiety than your younger counterparts, but these guys were able to quell a lot of that in the brief time I worked with them. I can't recommend them enough. Great instructors and even better people. Thank you JP and team!

She would smack gum, eat food, and generally had an attitude of not caring. Only until my last class did she run me through a couple of rules but I never really learnt anything under her teaching. It was high pressure and everything I learned was like being tested without knowing there was a test or what the material was on. The only saving grace here is that the people at the office are great, they kindly signed my second permit and gave me another learning certificate for $25 when I lost my first one. I would shop around for a better driving school before settling on this one.
