My daughter had a really bad experience with April - the instructor from Go Green Driving School. During the lesson she made some comments like OMG why you did that and mostly her tone was so rude and unprofessional. As the driving instructor you should be trained to make the students feel calm and know the way to try to teach them and guide them, not criticize them or should not making those comments to make them feel nervous and cannot focus. She also used the phone while teaching my daughter. You can make a note after the driving lesson right?! I contacted Eric the owner and requested him to offer another lesson with different instructor like Aren (my daughter said he was so nice and professional) but he said I need to pay 50% for another lesson with Aren. Why my daughter had a bad experience with April and could not focus and now they cannot offer another lesson to make up for her. They have really bad customer service and did not try to help. I rarely review but this is just so my feedback goes beyond their inbox. The Pros: responsive to online/email inquiries, signing up for courses is an easy process. However (the Cons): don't expect to get a completion certificate quickly upon finishing online Drivers Ed. Last summer my son took his drivers Ed course online, and it took almost a month for his certificate to arrive after multiple inquiries. My daughter just finished hers and at first I was hesitant about using the same service because of the experience I had with my son's certificate. I was hoping it was just a fluke, but sure enough, it's going on 3 weeks and still nothing. She received an email to verify her address and based on the fact it would be mailed from Castro Valley and we live in Hayward, one would think it would arrive. A few days ago I reached out asking for an update and was told a "second one" was going out, but still nothing. Apparently her best friend also used the same service for her drivers Ed course and is having the SAME PROBLEM after almost 2 months. Either they are short staffed, complete unorganized, or just don't care, whatever the case is they're follow through is really disappointing. Wish I had more pros to share than cons. read more

i recently got my permit as a 15 year old. i have no experience behind the wheel and i was hopeful about booking with go-green to begin my driving journey. unfortunately, my expectations were greatly let down. it is not an exaggeration to say that this was the WORST experience i've ever had with anyone. obviously, customer service requires interacting with respect toward your customer -- but it is also just human decency to do so. knowing that i paid $600 for this kind of treatment is unacceptable. i booked with cecilia. my first lesson was my first time ever behind the wheel. she was normal and the lesson was okay -- nothing too exceptional. however, the second lesson was a nightmare to say the least. before the lesson even began, i made sure she was aware that i had not practiced since our last lesson and therefore had little skills or improvement since the last. the beginning of the lesson was okay, but after only half an hour she was showing signs of frustration and made me very uncomfortable. half-way through the lesson was where things really heated up. for the last half of the lesson, cecilia was screaming in my ear, frustrated, throwing her hands up, and laughing because she was so angry. i was genuinely afraid for my safety and was considering pulling over to call my parents. it was also extremely hard to drive (as a beginner driver) with a psychotic lady yelling in my ear. it put me under a lot of stress and pressure, especially while trying to navigate the road. this puts not only me, but other drivers at risk. to say the least, it was traumatic. after the lesson, i was crying and i never wanted to get behind the wheel again. later, i told my friends about my experience and they, too, voiced their concerns with the same instructor -- no surprise. i'm extremely disappointed with this service and hope that go-green will learn to treat their customers with basic human kindness and patience. tldr: my first time behind the wheel and my instructor is extremely frustrated that i cant drive like lewis hamilton. had the worst experience of my life. cecilia needs to get checked out by a mental health professional ASAP for the safety of her and her customers. read more

My review is actually very long overdue but just wanted to share that this is a very high quality driving school. It was probably over 4yrs ago that i reached out to Eric who is the owner and was also my instructor at the time. I had zero driving experience and I didn't have a car to practice on so the driving sessions was really my only opportunity to practice. My biggest challenge with learning to drive was really just the nerves. I knew all the rules of the road and Eric really did an amazing job teaching me how to be a defensive driver but when it came to sharing the road with other cars, I would panicked and started forgetting everything. It took me awhile to overcome the nerves. Eric was very professional and extremely patient, didn't judge and was overall very supportive. We just kept practicing until i was able to gain enough confidence to pass the test and get my license. The scheduling process was also extremely convenient and Eric was very flexible with scheduling. He knew i worked long hours and always managed to squeeze me in the schedule. I learned a lot from him and even now i'm still using all the safe driving techniques I was taught. I feel like i turned out to be a good confident driver because of Go Green Driving. I highly recommend this driving school =D TIP: If you are a nervous wreck like i was, practice in the back roads and use the backroads feature in google maps. You can practice at your own pace without a lot of cars pressuring you. This will help you gain confidence in no time read more

I'm an adult who's never had a driver's license before. Last Fall I decided it was time to get a license. I don't have a car so I needed a school that offers concierge service for lessons and the driving test. I had seen Go-Green cars in my neighborhood and decided to take a chance with them. I am so glad that I did. The owner of the school, Eric, was really helpful and got me set up with the best lesson packages for my needs. I signed up for 6 Hour Basic Package and the DMV Test Escort. I took 6 hours of lessons with April and DMV test escort with Mike and both were fantastic. April did a fantastic job -- over 3 2-hour lessons -- of helping me get familiar and comfortable with driving safely while prepping for my driving test. On the day of my test Mike picked me up and brought me to DMV and took me through a final drive lesson. Thanks to both instructors I passed my test the first time with flying colors. I cannot say enough good things about the driving instructor, Chris , for my Son-in-law. Son-in-law was recovering from the remnants from an aneurysm and stroke. He needed to requalify for his drivers license, but had some odd perception elements that kept him from driving straight, in reverse, in lane during turns etc. His first failure at the DMV drive test was discouraging. Chris took a patient, observant and knowledgeable approach to all that was happening and crafted the instruction to the needs. Great instructor, great person......so I'm rating the company as great. I was able to have the pleasure of both of my children go through Go-Green for their driving instruction (5 years apart) and was blessed beyond words both times. If you're looking for a great driving school I highly suggest that you go with go green. I called early morning and spoke to a nice lady name Tiana she was very professional very supportive and understanding with me being an adult with few driving lessons in the past. She made me feel very confident about me passing my driver test and sometimes we need to hear that to gain some confidence so again Tiana thank you for that. With that being said I was reading previous reviews on yelp about go-green and it gave me a huge confidence boost to start driving again. I was paired with Mike and I personally want to thank Mike for being so supportive & patient he did not make me feel nervous we had three great lessons. I wasn't nervous or having anxiety driving with Mike I was actually excited and looking forward to my driving lessons.
