After carefully selecting a plant and having it reserved for pick up, I was pretty let down by the mishandling of my item. Several limbs were snapped off, completely altering my plants shape. There were no other available in any better condition. - not worth the drive out. read more

Hugo and the lady at the desk are the two rudest human beings I've ever encountered. A customer drove his mini van over our cart and knocked over a plant, spilling half of the soil out. Instead of telling us everything is OK, the damaged plant will be replaced, Hugo said "go chase after the customer and tell him to pay for your plant! We are not paying for it!! " How funny is that! I havent even paid for any of the plants, Hugo was still counting and pricing the plants while the accident happened. And we have to chase down his customer to ask him to pay?? Great Customer Service. The Master Nurserymen will ID plants if you bring a cutting. They will order what you need, if it is not in stock they will find it. Great prices on Natives, since they need a bit of TLC and take a long time to grow - this is a big deal. So much selection, and several people asked me if I wanting help loading or selecting. VERY IMPORTANT - this place is NOT open to the public. There is no signage to tell you this at the property. And it does NOT really state it here on Yelp. Went there and spend the better part of an hour walking the rows of plants. Grabbed the items I wanted to purchase on the hand carts they provide and made my way to the office. The rep VERY NICELY asked if I had my account number and I replied I did not have one. That was when I was told this was only for landscaper contractors and not open to the general public. How am I to know this when I looked up nurseries and chose this one to go to if it isn't clearly stated? I read other comments stating the staff refused entry to them without their landscaper present with them. But I just drove in and parked, walked around for 45 minutes and no one stopped me. But I will say, the person that did ask me if I need help was polite (I see others mentioning rude service). He even recommended me to another nursery and gave me their business card. We tried to buy local and went to Devil Mountain instead where they were super helpful. I'm not sure why this place was so difficult as we renovate properties and work with landscape professionals. Our landscaper asked us to stop by here to pick out a tree. While looking for a tree we ran into a self important white male staff member with black hair who said we were not allowed to look without our landscaper. We called our landscaper who was coming to meet us and waited at the office for his arrival. While waiting for the landscaper we asked another staff member where the tree was so we knew where to go. The first staff member returned to interrupt and was more terse then before saying we needed to leave. I tried to explain we were waiting for our landscaper yet I saw his big teeth gritting. So we called our landscaper and went to Devil Mountain instead. Picking the thousand dollar tree took five minutes plus we bought other products for a few thousand. It could have been an easy sale since we knew exactly what we wanted. They lost my business but also my landscaper. If you are having a bad day then don't take it out on the paying customers. read more

I went to Pacific Nurseries to select plants with our contractor. I have been doing this for over 60 years starting with my father. It was a shock to see our contractor treated so shabbily as their Business plan has changed. They do not post anywhere that visitors or clients are not allowed the property. But they are very happy to be exceptionally rude to everyone. read more

Our landscaper directed us here to choose plants. We went inside to ask for help and the man inside was so incredibly rude. You can find a nice way to tell people your policy - which is you are not allowed "on their property" without a landscaper with you - no need to make someone feel like they have just broken the law. I love Pacific Nurseries. They have a wonderful selection of plants especially ones that will do well in San Francisco which is where my garden and development projects are. I always love coming here and hiking around to get inspiration. I have ordered items and have had no problem. I am reading comments here about negative customer service. That may very well be true for them but for me I have only had positive experiences. I am a developer and do my own garden design and don't come here often but I always have a good experience. The only negative is their minimum delivery is $800 so I usually only come here for smaller items that will fit in a truck. Since their delivery fee is so high I go to Devil Mountain in San Ramon for the larger items where shipping is less. Devil Mountain which is not open to the public either is excellent with great customer service and neatly laid out plants. They have a huge selection and its a bigger operation. read more

I really enjoyed my time there.. Met my gardener there and got some beautiful flowers. Pushes to girl talk to create a wall three really nice trees. Beautiful flowers. I Purchased 400 plants from two separate nurseries with Pacific Nursurey Colma I had over 300 delivered. Many of them were damaged during the delivery. I Purchased several 24 inch box trees that were disguised 15 gallon plants hidden in a 24" box crate. Which is completely ridiculous. Over half of the plants died. While all the other plants from the other nursery Flourished amazingly well. All of the plants had sufficient water, proper soil amendments, mulch did not rot the plants. All of the plants from Pacific nurseries looked upon delivery incredibly unhealthy I reluctantly excepted all of them and I am blown away at what poor quality all of the plants turned out to be and the fact that more than half of them died makes me believe there is a serious disease amongst all of their stock. Completely let down can't believe they never excepted responsibility. never returned my emails nor my phone calls even after showing them numerous photos of the scam 24 inch box trees and all of the dying plants pictured next to all of the incredibly healthy ones. Why are all your plants and trees dying?! Such a junk show They never accepted responsibility for any of these major issues and were very unhelpful in numerous phone calls and emails. Kept transferring me to four different employees who all went to voicemail and I returned emails. read more

What is their problem? So much attitude... I called them up for a question and I was extremely polite and was appalled by the treatment I got from the sales woman. She was so rude. Told me they don't sell to people who are not licensed. (I politely explained I wasn't the person making the purchase, only needed to tell our gardner what to buy...) Cut me off and mocked me. "Professionals" only! I was sent here by a gardener to purchase 12 plants to extend a border. I had the plastic container he'd gotten from them in hopes of wisking in and leaving w 12 more. At the desk they gave me the speech your landscape professional is the only person who can purchase from us. That this gardener that I don't intend on using again is considered a professional is laughable maybe a professional leaf blower, he's so far from a landscaper but he gets a pass from these people. Offer me a form so I can sign up and take my money it's that simple and I'd be back again in the future to give you more money. Waste of gas and time. read more

I love this place, everyone is very helpful and when you go out there to take a look at the place you feel like you are on a wind swept outback planet with these gardener extrodinaire people on little flatbed trucks leading you through a labrynth. Terrible customer service! I purchased 5 trees and 1 died (after a very short time) while the other 4 are fine. They were all handled and watered the same so it was obviously an issue with the tree. They have a strict no return policy which is very frustrating. I have purchased numerous plants and trees from them in the past but after learning of their no return policy, I will not be buying anything for them for any of my other properties.
