The whole place feels peaceful and inspiring, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The first time I visited, Natalie was incredibly friendly and helpful. She gave me her number and was so responsive whenever I had questions. When we went back, Tony was just as helpful in guiding us toward the right fountain. He took the time to turn different ones on for us so we could really picture them in our space, and he also showed us the color options, which made it much easier to decide. Today they had their annual Grocery Outlet (GO) Wine Tasting where they team up with the GO across the street to showcase the wine they sell, have free tastings and sell it for 20% off. I spent thousands of dollars at Silvestri: concrete benches, planters, pots, a bird bath, two 3-seater sofas and chairs. One pot developed several large cracks soon after it was delivered. Sandra Silvestri said I could return the pot for a new one but then stopped responding to my calls. 9/28/17... I have been more than patient with Sandra at A Silvestri. I purchased 10 large cement pots and one very large fountain. The pots took longer than what I was told to be completed, but I'm ok with that..delays happen with custom orders. The fountain is another story. I paid in excess of $1000 for the fountain and was told it would stream water like a water fall. The first one took 1 month longer than what I was told to be completed and when installed, the installers told me the factory also owned by Sandra screwed it up by putting the pump in the wrong place causing the water to dribble out. In addition it was suppose to have a stainless steel outlet where the water poured out. It didn't it had a copper one. I asked Sandra to order another one which took 3+ months and once installed wasn't much better and they cracked the base to boot. In addition, the 2nd one had a copper outlet as well. (No Attention to Detail) I have called them 5 times since, emailed Sandra several times with no action on their part, or on her daughters part or anyone taking messages. Being a local business owner like Sandra, I was doing my best to be patient, but this is beyond my patience and down right horrible customer service. 20 years ago, these guys were a well oiled machine....Today...quite the opposite. They will not get my future business. There customer service is weak at best and they really don't give a sh^t about their customers. If they did, they would have returned my calls and made it right. Since no one has called back or emailed me....well you know the answer! read more

Her timely response and delivery and kindness over the phone to make things right are greatly appreciated and has me feeling much more positive on this business! I would do business there again and understand now how they work and how busy they are. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! This company has cancelled my delivery 2 times now. Both times, with NO phone call! I am self employed and had to cancel or change appointments to be home for their projected delivery time (2 different times now). THE DELIVERY HAS NOT HAPPENED! Even though I talked to the owner Sandra who promised I'd be first on the delivery today 4/18/18, I am not even on the list!!!!! I called to confirm their arrival time today, the employee said they cancelled all the deliveries today to my area!!! OMG! They didn't even call me to let me know! I am frustrated and angry!!!! My grandfather Lazzaro Calleri brought me to A Silvestri in the 1950's to buy my grandmother a special bench for her garden--one of many trips to A Silvestri--he always wanted the best--she loved, and tended, her huge garden daily--fruit trees, flowers, vegetables (an editable park)--the pieces my grandfather bought for her were like jewelry to her--Italian designed benches, fountains, etc. August 2014, I ordered a large copper glazed planter for the front of my home in San Francisco. For me, amazingly, nothing has changed with this family owned company--exceptional service, and quality of product--like going back in time to when pride of craftsmanship, was everything. Amazing selection of planters, outdoor furniture, statues, fountains, etc. and it's not that far from SF (don't be daunted that they are down the freeway by Candlestickl)! Unlike the Yelp posted hours, they are usually open on Sundays in the summer and spring so call ahead (I saw that on their website). Prices are as good as online PLUS the quality is better. They are made in Italy and made of concrete, stone, other substantial materials or even a plastic that is sprayed/colored really well to make it look like stone. So just go there and buy it and check it off your list. Service is amazing. We stayed later than their closing and they were insanely gracious even though they had an important family event to go to. Silvestri has the largest selection of items for your patio, yard, pool and including furniture. Some of the items can be used inside your home as well. We love this place and the staff and the owners have always been great to us. We feel like family whenever we visit the store. In addtion they have great hours, it is easy to find and get to from the San Jose Area. We recommend Silvestri highly. We do have one problem that we have never resolved with the beautiful fountain items that we choose for our Tuscan backyard kitchen with a wood fired pizza oven and patio area. We love the fountain and our family and friends love it too. The one problem we have had for over 9 years and one that we face this year is the finishon the fountain. The finish wears off from the very hot sunny exposure all day long and we also have very hard water in our area. When the fountian splashes onto the front of the fountain face it wears of the finish and by the end of the season it looks faded, dull and sometimes a creamy color rather than the beautiful tuscan colors of Italy. This fountain requires yearly maintenance and has begun to take away the pleasure of the beautiful design and the lovely water sounds in the long good weather season we have in the San Jose area. We have purchased stain/paint/ finish and sealer from Silvestri but it does not last more than one summer season. We are very tired of this chore and would love to find a more lasting solution. Now we wish we had chosen another fountain that does not require this time, energy, worry, frustration and money each year. If any one has a new solution for this problem we would be forever grateful. read more

I purchased a very large three tier fountain, bench and pottery for our beautiful home from this establishment years ago spending well over $4,000 for everything. Just recently I toppled the fountain in an accident. I called the company to quote me a price and time frame with the knowledge that we needed it done ASAP since our home was going on the market. Dina said she would put a RUSH on the order and it would be 2 weeks. I agreed to their time frame and quote and asked them to begin work and provided my deposit. This all began on July 4th. Have you heard the saying "Comedy of Errors"? Well we weren't laughing the whole time right up to September 2, 2 months later!! I sent a letter expressing my extreme disappointment (professionally written outlining the facts ONLY with NO personal attacks like the email I received from DIna. I will post my letter in a follow up Yelp review) with a final payment adjusting for delays and missing items. Below is a copy of the email I just received from Dina this morning. PS When Dina refers to her mother saying not "having the balls" to speak with her. She called after September 2 when my wife was taking me to the hospital with a severe case of walking pneumonia. As for returning her call I didn't know it was her mother but just another incompetent employee. And after getting the email this morning and her mother being quoted using such vulgar language above, just confirms my overall thoughts of this FAMILY owned business. Guess the phrase "Fruit doesn't Fall far from the tree". Applies here. First off I would like to apologize for the disappointing experience you had with myself and our family business. We are about to celebrate our 60th anniversary of being a local family statuary business. I personally have been selling fountains since I was nine years old. Your complaint letter was the first I have received. Luckily the only boss I have to answer to is my mother. The email that you sent right after the 4 of July weekend was during our busiest time of year. I am now five months pregnant and have a two year old to keep track of. During that time, I was rounding off my first trimester, had several prenatal appointments, and my landlords mother died. This resulted in a quick, unexpected sale of my home, which left my husband and I scrambling for a new place to live. These are all "excuses" but were part of the reason that your order was overlooked on my part. I rushed the order for two weeks and the factory did not meet my request. Normally during this time of year, it takes 6-8 weeks for an order to be made and then delivered withing 1-2 weeks after that. I was trying my best to accommodate you with the nearing sale of your home. As far as my mistake on ordering the wrong pieces, I based it on the picture that I saw and cross referenced with your original invoice which did not have a model number but only a model name (this fountain comes in 3 sizes). I used my quick judgment and experience to place the order - but I was wrong and made a mistake. This was all an unfortunate chain of events which led to a "rush" order turning into a normal order time of 8 weeks. I also gave you a maximum discount on the pieces and did not charge you an additional "rush fee" of $100. When our men arrived at your house with the wrong pieces the first time, we were told that your wife was verbally abusive to them. She was rude and had the expectation that we were going to repaint the entire fountain. My mother has been calling you for the past month and you have given her the run around, telling her you would call her back. Instead of, as she said, "having the balls" to tell her how you felt...you decided to write a two page rant naming your own price. We will accept your offer and acknowledge the type of people you and your wife are. Again, we are an old fashioned family business and your complaint could have been easily been handled with a simple phone call. Instead of being happy that you did not break a leg or kill yourself trying to tackle a large fountain by yourself or that you are fortunate enough to own a home to sell during this wonderful market, you decided to focus on the small stuff and take the low road. In the future, please take your fountain and garden needs elsewhere. We do no want or need customers like yourselves. At the end of the day, it is only concrete. Dina read more

A Silvestri Co. has one of the largest selections of garden accents, including vases, pots, statues and fountains, in the Bay Area. They actually supply other stores with their products, therefore, their prices are exceptional. My wife and I were getting ideas for our backyard landscape project. The moment we arrived we were greated by employees and made to feel welcome. With so many items to chose from, making a selection was difficult. My wife and I never felt pressured to make a decision or buy. We narrowed our selections down to just a few items, but couldn't make a final decision. Our first visit we left without purchasing anything after spending several hours at the store and taking up much of the owner's time. Despite this we were told by the owners, "We appreciate you visiting our store. When you find yourselves ready to make your final decisions for garden accents we hope you'll consider our products." After looking in Half Moon Bay, Hollister, Morgan Hill, Warsonville, Oakland, and South San Francisco, we returned to A Silvestri Co. for our final purchases. While A. Silvestri has a lot of nice fountain and statuary designs, my experience is of poor quality and terrible service. The finish on my $700 fountain started to erode after about a year and a half after purchasing it. We did not use any chemicals in or on the fountain that would have caused this. I eventually contacted the company as the problem worsened. They failed to return my email in which I sent pictures of the problem. I then called them and was told I'd be sent touch up paint. The color name of the paint is the same on the bottle but does not match when I put in on. I've contacted them to let them know that the "touch up" paint didn't resolve the problem is mismatched and now it looks just as bad if not worse. Don't know what good that will do. I don't know if this is the norm or I just got a defective product, but their unresponsiveness and crappy service didn't help. read more

They have a great selection, but that's not what really impressed me. I made multiple orders over the past 5 months. Had to change out a few pieces for different finishes - no problem. Requested rush deliveries, no problem. Robert, my sales rep was (is) a gem. He happily assisted me with all my requests. My products were delivered ahead of schedule. Tony who handled the deliveries went above and beyond at the job site. Not only did he set up this huge fountain and benches for me, when he returned to deliver more pieces, he helped me clean out my fountain. Showed me how to do regular maintenance....etc... Wow - I have never experienced worse customer service than what I have experienced with A. Silvestri Co. The owner of the company actually told me that she would have her guys come and take the Silvestri planters off my front porch after I had dared to question why she had to cancel three planned deliveries - for which I had rearranged my hectic schedule. All of this after I had been a customer for years and have made a costly investment in their planters/fountains, etc Needless to say, they have lost a customer. No one deserves to be treated in this manner, especially from the owner of the company. I am just flabbergasted. read more

We purchased our first fountain from this company over 15 years ago, of course then there was no yelp it didn't exist. So why am I writing a review after 15 years. We have a two-tier fountain, and the lower bowl developed a crack, I tried to repair it several times, but then I got an idea. How about I go back to Silvestri's where we bought the original fountain, and see if they could make me a new bowl. The nice thing was that the original fountain was made by them, they had the mold in their shop, so 4 weeks later the called me up and I had a new bowl. I purchased a finishing kit, saved some money by doing the finishing myself, with their instructions the job came out perfect. In closing I'm trying to say, is that if you purchase a fountain, and after years somebody drops something on the fountain and cracks it, you know that you get the exact replacement part, remember they do have to remake the part so you need to allow time for that. read more
