I was that person who comes in 30 minutes to closing and even thought the owner was super nice and welcoming, I was the only one in there and just oohing and awing over the super cute store. Learned this store has been open for 5 years and I'm just so impressed that a store like this exists on Ocean Ave. I grew up nearby and they didn't have these kind of stores 20 years ago (oof I dated myself!). I love her selection and all the cute accessories. I had to hold back from buying more than one plant- Lord knows I collected plenty of plants in my day, so I definitely need to refine my collection, instead of collecting. Super cute plant store. I'm not a big plant head but my dad is and he was really excited to see this store. It's a tiny shop but they sell Folage focus which is apparently a better deal here in store than paying for shipping. The nice young lady there was very attentive to my dad's rambling. I was able to find this really cute gift a plushy for my grandma so loved the gift options as well. Too bad they didn't have any birthday cards but I saw other cards. We found street parking on the side but this was around 12pm on a Thursday. I know my dad will be back! read more

The Plant Lady SF is a cute m, petite plant boutique and possible my current favorite plant shop in the city. They specialize in tropical and rare finds so they have a really unique selection but also features common plants as well. We started growing our plant collection over Covid and wanted to add a unique piece to our home. We settled with the Syngonium pink splash, which the owner Jeannie helped explain to us was a pretty, tropical, and easy to maintain plant. They also have a cute selection of planters so we bought three of those as well. They were reasonably priced too which was nice bc I've seen other plant stores that charge pretty wild prices for planters. Although small, the shop is densely packed with a ton of incredible plants and the team is very knowledge. Definitely my go to plant store read more

Great experience from out of state! I stumbled across this shop viewing the map of the area my cousin lives in. She is going through a very extensive surgery to save her life; I wanted her to have a plant not flowers. Flowers die. The plant keeps living, and that's the message I want to convey to my cousin. Since I have never seen my cousin's house, I told Jeannie the owner I don't know about the indirect or direct lighting in the house, and I would like them to be easy care plants since she's dealing with cancer recovery. Jeannie immediately responded back with suggestions. Not only that but because my cousin lives literally around the corner from her shop, she delivered the plants for no charge as it was short walking distance. I offered to add in extra for a tip and she said not necessary. Wow! The invoice was easily handled via email. Very efficient and attentive service. I wasn't looking for speed, just for someone who could help anytime this week since I'm unfamiliar with the area. She jumped right into action. This shop has amazing rare & common house plants on Ocean Ave! It's a cute little shop run by Jeannie, who's so passionate and knowledgeable about plants! She has her own private collection, but still sells cuttings from her rare plants at her store. She also have cute little succulents and carnivorous plants! Just got these! Loveeeeeee. I bought my first plant from them when I embarked on my plant mom journey, so the shop has a soft spot in my heart. Since then, they've expanded so the space is brighter and there's even more plants. They also have super cool and rare plants like the banana leaf. Wonderful neighborhood store carrying a variety of gorgeous plants. I walked in and told The Plant Lady that I had a long history of killing plants but wanted to change that. She pointed out some "beginner" plants that are easy to take care of. Six months later, they were still alive so I went in for more, this time plants that were a little more challenging to care for. A couple of years later & I now have variegated & multicolored leaf plants of all sizes all over the house. They add so much beauty & tranquility to my home, while also cleaning the air. She also responds to questions on care in detail & makes great recommendations based on your needs. This shop is a sweet city oasis filled with stunning plants & cute plant accessories. I looove this new local plant store! Small but mighty. A great new addition to Ocean Ave. Lots of rare plants in stock at different times. They sell out fairly quickly so if you're on the fence, get it. Treatyoself. You can check out her website or Instagram to see what new plants are available. The owner, Jeannie, has so much knowledge. Very helpful. Unlike big box stores that label things a generic "tropical foliage" and have no idea how to help you, she understands our local SF climate well and advises what plants might do well in your particular environment/home. Came here pretty wound up after getting my taxes done and picked up two new plants. Instantly brought me back to a good place. I've braved getting my first two calatheas from here and they're now thriving with her tips and pointers and faith in my former black thumb self. I was scared because I know they tend to be fussier plants. I also dropped by again after a pretty rough day and walked away happy with two new pots. She has a really nice selection. Ended up getting my sister in law her first polka dotted begonia from here. Another "challenging" plant. It's currently shooting out a new leaf. We are both thrilled. I'm actually in Colorado so my review will be based solely on the online ordering process. I had a million questions on my SP Colombia and the owner was so patient with me and answered everything in detail. I got the package in 2 days and everything was packaged really well. My plant baby arrived with zero damage. If the service was this great for an online order, I can only imagine how nice she must be in person.
