I've been here a few times and have had a Great experience with fitting my pup in quickly, the price, turn around time, location, and customer service! They are right by the post office, and offer Ala cart services too. My dog is a Jack Russell mix, so she is fairly straight-forward, but always comes out cooking trimmed and to the T. The only reason why I knocked off a star is because you don't need any type of health clearance, but a lot of smaller salons are like that. Just make sure your pet is all up to date. read more

My cat hates getting her nails trimmed, no doubt made worse by a human (me) who's not confident about giving kitty manicures either. Pacific Paws to the rescue! Cat nail trims are accepted on a walk-in basis daily from 10-3. When we arrived on a Sunday at 11, there were 4 dogs in front of us and we all just lined up outside. Kitty was in and checked in within 10 minutes and the nail trim, including the back paws, was done in a flash. The tech was so kind, so professional, and so QUICK! The cat is like a worm when I cut her nails and she barely moved a muscle with the tech. Kitty's human hates putting her in the carrier and kitty hates the car ride but this experience was great! $20 well spent. We'll be back! read more

This most recent groom was the best groom I've ever had for my Springer spaniel, Stella! The groomer really listened to what we wanted and Stella turned out sooo cute. I personally prefer her to look more "field" springer than "show" springer and sometimes groomers don't want to cut her hair that way. Have you ever accidentally cut your dog's quick? It is the most traumatic experience for both puppy & hooman. Our Miso boy is the sweetest, but he is a big panty when it comes to nail trimming. Long story short, he has thick, black toenails. One time, we accidentally cut one too short. He freaked out, we freaked out, blood all over. Totally not worth it. Don't do it yourself. Go to Pacific Paws instead. Walk-in dog nail trimming is from 10-3 daily, no appointment needed. I'm not lying when I say Miso is a big panty. Our 60 pound baby needs to be carried into the salon each time. As an owner, it's a little embarrassing that he's so afraid, but the staff is calm & sweet, and they pretend like it's normal. I'm just so glad that he hasn't peed on them (yet). They talk to him, pet him and make it as comfortable as possible. Sometimes it's a two-person job: one person trimming and one giving all the love. We have to hide behind the window outside and spy on him, because if he knows we're there, he'll want to leave. I love how they take care of him, and how the ambiance is calm, clean and not too scary and vet-like. I never have to cut his nails myself again. read more

I first started coming to Pacific Paws by recommendation of my boss, when I invited her and my other co-workers over for a board game day, only for my dog to embarrass me by scooting his butt across the floor! It was on a Sunday, and most dog groomers were closed, as was my vet's office, and I didn't want to harm my dog by attempting to clear his glands on my own. "Go to Pacific Paws. They're open on Sundays." Bingo! So I called, and they were able to see me right away. I drove my dog over, while my roommates kept my coworkers entertained. That first day, we met with Wendy. Benny got his glands cleared, and I only had to pay about $8 (including tax and tip). Not only that but they were FAST! I knew I would keep coming back. I've now been here 4 times in the several months that I've owned Benny. On my most recent visit, we worked with Maggie for a gland expression, nail trim, and ear cleaning. Maggie was so thorough, and so so sweet even though my 82 lb dog was fidgeting like crazy. I would not hesitate to bring him back here for any other services in the future. They advertise walk in nail cutting but when i did a courtesy call to see if it was a good time to come, the same groomer answered and pretty much said they were to busy. We finally found a place for Stein! He is a bit of a "difficult" dog. First, he was banned from Petco for biting the groomer. Then, we found a groomer that will take him. But she moved away and that business said they don't have anyone that can work on difficult dog at this time. We came back to Pacific Paw and we were not disappointed. Stein had an handsome haircut and the groomer said he did good. He tried to bite but she corrected him and he stopped his bad behavior. We are very happy with his haircut. We are definitely coming back and become regular customer so that Stein can get use to grooming. read more

I've only had my dog groomed here before once. He came back looking great! He can be a little aggressive but he seemed to not mind his groomer. The reason for the 3 stars is that I tried to request an appointment twice via email (I was in no rush for an appointment but my dog would be really needing it soon.) did not hear back from them at all. I had made my first appointment via email with no problem. This time. No response on two separate occasions. I would of just called but like I said, I wasn't pressed for an appointment, and usually places of business can email back within a couple days read more

More than my liking Pacific Paws, my Golden Doodle loves it. Whenever we go there, she is so excited. She knows she will get the Royal treatment. Great spa treatment with wash and dry, nails clipped and filed, trim reared area, trim and shape face and especially her snout so she doesn't drink water and have her fur carry water out of the bowl. And, the anal gland expression. She looks fabulous and happy when I pick her up. I think the cost is reasonable because my golden doodle is a 50 pound plus 11 month old puppy. My next visit if for a full groom. The groomer has been great in suggesting what is best for the dog. So, I'll trust her to give my golden doodle a great cut for summer. So out of trauma (ok, maybe out of drama) I started searching for a new groomer for my Labrador. I have been using Petco (I know, I know...don't judge me...I heard about missing ear parts and the dog that literally was dried to death there) for a year and a half. Diligently scheduled a full package every month with my fave groomer (Emma, why did you leave me??) and when she quit, took her recommendation for another staffer there at Petco. I made an appointment a month out and dropped him off about 10 minutes before 2. When by 5, I hadn't heard anything I called and they had not even started him. I am so HAPPY, I finally found me a salon for my precious Zsazsa! I called to see if they would be able to clean my kitty's ears and trim her bum bum. They said YES!! Every place I called they said that they only take patients only or I would have to wait 2 months. My poor kitty is a Persian and is hairy as heck but beautiful! Pacific Paws was very welcoming and my kitty wasn't as stressed out like she was at Petsmart. The gal that did her a few month ago was really nice but was unable to service her anymore because Zsazsa wouldn't let her. I had an appointment with Petco to get my dog groomed. I wanted him to get cleaned up one last time because I'm going to have to put him to sleep soon. When I got there they said they wouldn't do it because I had put him on a mild sedative his vet prescribed. I called Pacific Paws and even though they didn't have an opening until June 7 (this is April 20) she called me back and said she'd be happy to give him a bath even though they were already closed. I rushed him over and she gave him a wonderful bath and he looked beautiful and happy. I can't thank Wendy enough for her kindness. read more

She paid $104.00 each for head to toe treatment getting a bath, nails clipped, teeth brushed, anal cleaning and they loved it! They got a little nervous. There aren't very many businesses on the island that seem to do nail trims for cats, so I'm grateful to have found Pacific Paws! They take walk-ins for nail trims 10am-3pm daily. The last time my cat, Mara, had her nails trimmed was at the vet's office, and that experience was much like an exorcism. Here, Mara squirmed and hissed throughout the trim, as expected, but I was impressed at how efficient and relaxed the groomer handled it. She also thankfully put a muzzle on my cat, good for the safety of both cat and groomer. We were in and out of there in 15 minutes... much less time than it took for me to get Mara into her carrier, haha! Reasonably priced, convenient location for me, and friendly, efficient service. Talk about a bad experience all around! Called early last week to make an appt to get my bunny's nails trimmed. Was told that appts aren't needed for nail trimming and to just walk-in anytime between 10-4. Arrived at 3:20 to see a note on the door that said "walk-in nail trimming 10-3." Walked away, then called to see if there was any way that they could take our rabbit because I don't drive and had to arrange a ride there, plus I told them that I had called and had been told no appt was needed and to come any time between 10-4. I was told that they don't do rabbit nail trimming when there are dogs/cats in the office (I offered to wait outside). Then was told that they are running late (I can't see nail trimming as taking more than 5-10 min). Then was told that the next appt for rabbits was the following Saturday at 4pm!! (at closing time? And what if they're running late again?). I'd clip my bunny's nails myself except that although I've mostly outgrown my childhood allergy to rabbits, if I get scratched then I will welt up. At a time when it's being recommended that everyone stay at home and businesses are being affected, you'd think customer service would be a high priority, but I guess it isn't for this business. Definitely won't be recommending this place to anyone! read more

I just took my dog there yesterday for a bath and anal gland expression. I called them Saturday and they were able to get me in within a couple of days which is hard to do with other groomers. The place was small but nice and clean and no obnoxious smells. They took about an hour and a half to bathe my dog (a long-haired retriever mix) and he came out happy and clean. There was no strong smell on him which I appreciated but definitely smelled clean. Will definitely be using them again as they were flexible and very reasonable with their prices. read more

Kiko kitty is beyond spoiled. our house is is palace, and he's flown from southern California to Hawaii and he's my favorite person- I mean cat, ever. But he's also got the fur of a movie star cat you'd see eating pate out of a baccarat crystal dish (he has his own Instagram!). But sometimes he gets overwhelmed and hot because of his majestic coat. so I like to get him groomed. He used to go to a posh cats-only hotel in LA for his grooming but it's much harder to find the cat friendly places here in Hawaii. because of the heat and him being black and fluffy, I feel it really helps him to lose his excess loose undercoat, so previously I took him to a chain pet store where I didn't see him and he came back smelling like sugar spray and cost me $200. with a recommendation from La Dean- I took all 15lbs of my baby kitty here. She enlisted my help to take him out of his carrier and let me stand behind the counter with her as I watched her gently trim his nails and clean his ears. I was fascinated because I've never been able to watch a groomer handle my pet. When it came time for his bath, she had to take him in the back, so I went to starbucks and less than an hour later, I got a call. She let me gently coax him out of his carrier to check how she trimmed his behind and make sure I was happy. the full 9 yards of a back trim, bath, blow dry, brush, ear cleaning all for under $100 ! and Kiko wasn't traumatized and she said he was rather friendly and loving the whole time! I felt that she cared about cats, she said she has a cat herself who likes lion cuts. It's very important that I am taking my baby meow to a fellow cat person or someone who loves all animals, not a dog groomer who'll take a cat. Kiko will be back when he needs a little help with his bad self. read more

Went there for the first time today for a doggy spa treatment (bath, grooming, some trimming, nails, ears, bottom, etc.) I was really happy how my golden doodle looked afterwards.
