Overall, I am a super satisfied dog owner after bringing my fur babies to this location. I am in love with how my dog's final look turned out. They both have very thick coats, and needed a lot of love on their fur. They have completely made my dogs look so fresh and clean, from a bunch of knots and tangles, to the softest, most pawfect coats. I can tell my doggies feel more comfortable and were so happy when they were home. It was so cute how they even were goofy with putting wigs on my dogs at the end. We are new to Oahu and were looking for a pet grooming service. While searching, we came across LOVE LIVE PET. We didn't see any negative reviews before scheduling an appointment for our dogs, so we thought it would be a good choice since they also responded quickly. They told us to drop off our dog between 7:45 and 9 a.m. and that pick-up would be from 1 to 2 p.m. When we arrived, we noticed that check-in was outside because the door was closed. They only open it halfway because the staff mentioned some dogs had been jumping and might escape. We waited almost half of the day until they texted us that our dog was ready for pick-up at 3 p.m. They sent a picture of her, which was very nice. When we picked her up, she looked great and very well-groomed. However, one day later, we noticed that she had a wound on her paw that was deeply shaved compared to her other paws. Additionally, she seemed much quieter than usual; she wasn't as energetic and appeared depressed. We monitored her with a camera and realized she hadn't been drinking water throughout the day. She only drinks when we get home from work. Our dog loves water, especially cold water, and is usually very energetic, even at 12 years old. Everything changed after we dropped her off at this groomer. We are worried about what might have happened behind closed doors, as our once lively 12-year-old dog is now acting very different, and we're unsure how to ensure she stays hydrated while we're at work. My dog Benji (little shitzue mix) had the best grooming experience at LIVE LOVE PET. The cut was perfect - detailed and exactly what I wanted! But most importantly Benji came home and was back to his normal happy self! He gets so nervous at doctor's or grooming appointments- and i feel so guilty leaving him!! But I could tell they treated him well. My Beagle Boy also went for a walk-in nail trim when I picked up Benji. They did a great job! His nails haven't been so short and smooth in years!! Ive been bringing my fur babies here for almost a year now and I love everything about it! Staff are always so nice and happy :-) They always come back smelling good and their fur are so neatly cut/trimmed. I love that it's full service, covers everything in one cost (ear cleaning, teeth cleaning and gland expression). I even had the two boys' tails colored and it came out super cute, vivid colors. The scheduling system changed to morning and afternoon blocks. So you can choose to drop them off in the morning or afternoon and pick up few hours later. They have an automated text messaging system to notify you when you can pick them up and remind you of your appointment. The thing I love most about Live Love Pet, is the picture they send after! This is the worse pet grooming place on Oahu. My dog was traumatized when we used them. They overbook so tell you it will be several hours (unlike other groomers), so your pet is in cage for most of that time. The mother & daughter argue about who is suppose to be there. And the granddaughter is so bored, she teases the dogs. Everything is done behind the scenes so you cannot observe most of it. They will tell you they are grooming your dog themselves, but you find out someone else did it. I met two former groomers that worked there and they shared horror stories. I don't know how they won those rewards they post on their site. And they share a few good reviews, but one is not allowed to post review on their site. Several dog owners have warned others about them on various pet groups here. Do not take your dog (or cat) there. They will develop stress from going to a groomer. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR PUPPY HERE. My 7 month old puppy had the worst experience at this groomers. I really should have trusted my gut and backed out from this place upon initial red flags at the arrival for the appointment. My puppy has gone to a groomer (not this place) 3 times in her life prior to this place and would usually sprint out of my car to go to the front door. We had to find a new place since her groomer moved to the mainland. Initial red flags of this place: - No introduction of name/who the person was when I arrived and that she would be the one grooming my puppy. I had to ask at the end of our conversation! - 3-4 dogs were crammed in 1 crate. (I learned later that all dogs were from 1 home, but still!) I clarified and said please do not put my dog in a crate with another dog. - The worker pushed for a haircut that she thought would be cute for my puppy instead of really asking me what I wanted. I did end up saying what I wanted. - I asked if she could use my treats for my puppy and she insisted that she use theirs instead (some all natural?). I found this to be off putting since it's my puppy and I think owners should be allowed to request that you use the treats you'd like your puppy to have while there since we know our puppies best. - I inquired about potty breaks since it seemed such a TINY place and being my puppy was in the crate for seems like quite a long time (hours on end). She responded, "dogs usually potty in the crate and we'll clean it up, or if we see them pacing, we'll try to take them out if we can." - I was told that upon dropping my puppy off at 8 am, the pick up time would be 3 pm since it's her first time. In hindsight, what was I thinking agreeing to this!!! 7 hours at a groomer for a 7 month old puppy?!?! - I was told I would get pics/texts for updates on her since she was there for awhile. (I did not receive any) I arrive at 3 pm since that is what was established before leaving. I was advised that the dogs that get dropped off between 7:45-9am get picked up between 12-3 pm. I was told to arrive at 3 pm. I arrive at 3 pm. There are 2 workers in the front. One is eating her lunch looking out at me and taking 3-4 bites of her food as I stand there. The worker glanced at me twice and continued cutting the dog's hair (not my dog). I noticed that my puppy was not in the crates, so I'm realizing she may not be done. I finally speak up, "I'm here to pick up my dog." They ask for the name, I say the name and they go to the back to find her. The worker I spoke to in the morning comes out and says "yeah she's not ready." I said "it's 3 pm, you told me to come at 3 pm, I dropped her off at 8 am." She said, "sorry I'm thinking more 4 pm." I was livid at this point. I had work scheduled at 4 pm and now in the moment, I had to scramble to figure out her pick up plans. But the audacity to assume that they can extend time without giving me a heads up? I really should have just taken her out of that appointment at that time! She said, "we'll text you when she's ready." I replied, "I would like you to let me know 20-30 minutes prior to her being ready since I have to coordinate now with someone else for pick up." I finally get a text saying she's ready for pick up at 4:16 pm. Unbelievable. I don't even know if she was even 20-30 minutes out for being ready because it seems she was done at 4:16 pm. I proceed to let the other person picking her up know the information. Upon picking her up, the person said she had to potty 1 & 2 immediately getting to the closest grass. The next 48-72 hours, my dog proceeds to have diarrhea/vomiting. The amount in the first 24 hours appeared to be that she was given ALOT of treats and food. Being that she's 7 months, there's no way I would know EXACTLY what she's allergic too as she's still a puppy having yet to try everything out there. This made me more upset. I learned after speaking to the vet and other dog owners that dogs will also have diarrhea for being so distressed that it messes with their digestive system. My puppy has unlocked new fears, after this appointment, she was scared of drinking water/eating and appeared to look like she was abused or violated from the back near her tail/butt area as she kept turning to look back or curled down to "protect" her area while taking licks of water. This tells me they probably bribed her with water/treats while trying to do something to her that she was clearly uncomfortable with. My puppy who loved the water hose/shower is now afraid of it and barks at it. She seemed so depressed for quite some time. She was not the same dog I dropped off and I truly can't believe I let her go to this place. I am now working to retrain my dog to relike the things she is now afraid of. I am also comforting her at each meal as she is still afraid to eat/drink without thinking someone is going to come from behind her and touch her body. We are so sad and upset for this experience. read more

PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE. LOOK AT THE PICTURES AND YOU JUDGE. The owner, Krystal, and their staff are frauds and the worst dog groomers I've experienced in 15 years. They should be ashamed of the poor grooming services, lack of integrity and professionalism they demonstrated on my first visit with my dog. I called their landline number at 9am and spoke with Krystal, the owner, I informed her that my dog is 15 years old, 18lbs a maltese and poodle with matting. Initially Krystal said the first available appointment is on September 3rd, cost is $85. I told her I will be traveling as of tomorrow August 27th to September 5th so I will not be able to make that appointment, but then miraculously she said she can groom my dog if I drop him off between 11-11:30am. I dropped him off at 11:15am, and was then told the cost would actually be $110, because my dog is taller. I informed that their website says the cost by weight not height (as my dog is very skinny but has long legs), nor did she inform me of that at 9am over the phone. Then she said the cost is based on surface area! That's just ridiculous, I have been to over a dozen groomers in CA, AZ, HI in the past 15 years of my dog's life and I have never heard someone say that! But I just agreed to their increase in cost because I had already driven from Kailua to Kaimuki. I informed them and apologized that my dog had matting around his face and legs, informed them about his ears and paws gets frequent infections because of his breed and being all white like an albino. She informed me that he will probably need to be shaved but I asked if possible to keep his hair as long as possible because he gets cold with short hair. I was texted at 5:45pm, SIX HOURS LATER and was appalled when a man then told me the total cost was $150, they had to add a $40 fee for "an elderly dog." THAT WAS ABSURD! Prior to leaving, Krystal assured me that they take extra care of elderly dogs and take their time needed for the grooming. NEVER WAS I INFORMED OF ANY ADDITIONAL COSTS NOR DOES IT SAY THAT ON THEIR WEBSITE! Then the staff tried to blame the extra cost on the extra time and patience they needed to groom my dog, claiming he would have gotten a heart attack. I informed them that never did they call to inform me of additional costs, or even prior when I called initially or dropped him off, and moreover they already raised the price once on me! The price went from $85 to $110 to $150 without tip! I told the man I would not pay the extra $40 because I was not informed they should have at least called me while they were grooming him. As a dentist, legally healthcare providers need to inform patients of all expected and estimated costs, I told them this and I think they were surprised that I was well educated and not going to let someone take advantage of me.He agreed to take $30 off the additional fee, thus total $120. Tired of debating with the man and just wanting to leave, I agreed to meet them half way at $115. With a 20% tip I paid $143. THE WORST PART WAS WHEN THEY BROUGHT MY DOG OUT HIS HAIRCUT WAS NOT FINISHED AND A DISASTER. LOOK AT THE PICTUREs AND YOU BE THE JUDGE PICTURES DO NOT LIE. They tried to give my dog a free sweater to hide and make up for the bad haircut in my opinion, but I took it off and told them they can keep it. I confronted them and said this is a terrible cut this is not a professional grooming m, even I could have done a better job and have done so during the pandemic. I requested a refund because my dog came out worse than going in and his face and body were rat-bitten and differing lengths up to 1 inch. Krystal was called by the man and she said they needed to be compensated for their time but I told them they did not provide the grooming service my dog obviously did not receive a complete grooming, nor was the groomer's eyes open. It is blatant how poorly and rushed the haircut was! Then Krystal said they will finish the cut but I have to bring my dog back. I reminded her that from the beginning I told her I was traveling from the next day to the 5tb. Obviously they just wanted to make the extra cash and not provide quality service or a complete product, the haircut, I thought my dog was going to receive. Just appalled by their lack of professionalism and integrity as a business, I refused to argue any longer because Krystal started yelling at me trying to blame it on my dog's matting and his old age. Their website boasts about their experience and care for older dogs. What a lie. They should be ashamed of themselves. Had they initially told me when I dropped him off and inspected him that they did not have enough time to groom him because of his hair matting or being older I would have just left. My dog was shaking when I brought him home and was scared to let me touch him. When normally he is a sweet, gentle elderly dog that loves being pet. I spent 3 hours once I got home trying to fix it, but he will probably need another grooming. read more

I decided to rescue a dog that used to be abused and lost an eye and its half deaf but i wanted to give her a second chance. She is the sweetest dog ever and i want to give her a good life she always deserved! She was pretty stinky coming from the shelter and on a Saturday i decided to make plenty phone calls to see who could take her. This place was booked all day but they were soooo nice to squeeze me in their schedule and i was able to take Patches to them! I told them no budget and they could do whatever they wanted! I needed a grooming appointment for my fur baby before we leave the island. I called around a few places and due to the fact that we had moved from Ewa Beach to Makiki, I didn't want to get him an appointment at Petco. No one was taking new cats or only with availability upwards of two months out. Then I got ahold of Crystal at LLP. She assured me they'd do their best to accommodate me but couldn't any promises. But then they called me back and said not only could take him, but they could do so just roughly 3 weeks from when I called, way better than all the other offers of 2 months+ or none at all. When I brought my cat to the groomer on the day of his appointment, I was pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere of the ladies' shop. Its tucked away in 2-story walk up officeplex with street parking or a parking lot behind the building. It's very kitschy and warm feeling as you walk up, with a dog gate, and you can see all the pets from outside. Going indoors, all the dogs awaiting their turn or their respective owners were super quiet and chill. Some people just have a gift for animals and these ladies clearly have it. We went over the procedures for my cat and they reaffirmed with me several times to make sure I got exactly what I was looking for for my boy. And then I signed a consent form, they took a before pic, and said they'd call/text me in a couple of hours. They also assured me that there is no rush and if you're running "late" for pickup, to simply give them a phone call to clear things up! About 3.5 hours after drop off I got the text to get kitty and showing up, they had him not only beautiful groomed and cleaned, but they even put a new bowtie collar on him and took these after photos! I was soooo pleasantly pleased by everything; my cat looks like he belongs in a cat show... They did such a wonderful job! Not to mention, he was being super chill so I could tell he had been treated really well. I'm super bummed I'm leaving the island so soon or else I'd go back to Live, Love, Pet Grooming permanently, no doubt about it. Crystal's team is super sweet and kind!
