The staff was super nice, they explained everything for my pup's first visit. When it was time for Harley to go in, he was perfectly happy to go with the assistant and he never looked back at me. Which is good because he's been glued to my side for 5 days since I rescued him from the shelter. When I picked him up 4 hours later, he was still happy and wasn't in a hurry to leave, so I'm assuming he had fun. He's napping now so he must have played hard. The first visit is free so a great way to try it out. We'll definitely be boarding our pup here when we travel and can't take him. read more

I'm a crazy dog lady and my 6 year old brindle pit bull Cadi is my world. The only person I trust to watch her is my Mom who lives in Jamul an hour and 15 minutes away from me. My fiancé races off road and had a race this past weekend in Vegas and my Mom was also going out of town and couldn't watch her. My neighbor who also has a pit bull mentioned that he uses doggy daycare at Oceanside pet hotel Monday-Friday, he had nothing but great things to say about Oceanside Pet Hotel. I contacted them about month before our trip and scheduled Cadis boarding for four nights. The girl I spoke to on the phone was so sweet and very helpful. She made me feel really comfortable about leaving Cadi in their hands. I called probably 5 more times before we actually had to leave Cadi here and every time I called each person I talked to was so nice and understood my anxiety about leaving her. The moment we walked in to leave Cadi my anxiety went away! I was told I could call as many times as I wanted to check in on her throughout her stay (although I never called because I was so confident leaving her) I wish I could remember the names of everyone I came into contact with but literally every single one was amazing! We showed up an hour early to pick Cadi up, she was freshly bathed, smelt amazing and was so happy just like when my Mom watches her! She was I. Perfect condition just as I had left her! If I could give more stars I would! Oceanside Pet Hotel has us as customers for life! They're location is so convenient and the employees are top notch! I left Novia, a two year old Shih Tzu/Terrier, with them in one of the Suites twice for 5 days each in the last month. She apparently loved it and came home with a great shampoo. The staff are very friendly. I was concerned about "separation anxiety," and would have liked to have been able to put her in the suite and pick her up from the suite, but that is not ordinarily permitted. They did accomodate my request the first time and apparently Novia really didn't even care. I would recommend Oceanside Pet Hotel. The Suites are unique in the business and ideal for an indoor only kinda dog. read more

Just took a tour and booked my reservation for my dogs to stay here while me and my hasband are out of town. I am very picky of where my dogs go since they are my kids so I had to go and see the place and meet the people who work there. I was impressed that the dogs got an indoor and out door area as well as an outdoor play area for them to let out some steam during the day. They answered all of my questions and took down all of the specific items that I need for my dog who has a sensittive stomach. Everyone there was so patient with me with all of my questions it was nice to know they knew my concerns. I know my dogs will be taken care of there and they will be nice and clean and happy to see me when I get back. read more

Great place, Highly recommend it. Anthony has great customer service skills and Ed is the best dog trainer I've known. We have a 13 month old blue nose pit bull that had been in our backyard forever with no traning nor discipline. The vet had told us not to take our dog out on walks until he had all his immunizations by the time we were done, it was too late we couldn't even put him on a collard....I've visited a couple of places and they had told me it was too late that they couldn't help me....thank god I found this place. This place is simply, the best. I wish I could say enough to explain how great they are. I checked and interviewed quite a few doggy daycares in the Oceanside area before I picked this one for our Izzy. My husband and I adopted her from the humane society, and we were told up front that she was very nervous and shy. She warmed up amazingly to us right away; but she had really bad separation anxiety when we left for work. Pacific Pet Resort checked for all her shots and got our profile set up really quickly. The next day we brought her for her free trial run day. I explained that she LOVED other dogs but could get really shy around new people. Anthony completely understood and told me his dog was the same, and he made me feel a little better about leaving her there. She didn't want to leave me the first day, but the woman coaxed her into the door and I left, half afraid I'd get a call by noon that she was to nervous. My husband called and checked on her, and they said she was going great. They were very slowly introducing her to the other dogs in her little play group and letting her make friends with a few people so she was comfortable. Alex brought her out to me and told me after a couple of treats, she warmed right up. The second day, they already knew my name and hers. It only takes a few moments to drop her off, and they don't yank or pull her. They don't push her to hard out of her comfort zone. After a week or two here, she LOVES doggy day care. She jumps right out of the car and goes right in the door. She runs right out to me, all happy and tail wagging at the end of the day. They ALWAYS offer updates and tell you who your dog played with. Izzy LOVES her days now. She's exhausted when she gets home and she's a million times better with meeting new people and not being afraid of people. Thank you guys for making me not worry about her during the day, and giving her a place to have fun and get her energy out. PLUS they have a program that supports service dog for veterans (my husband is a Marine) and I think that's the icing on the cake. If you have to pick a daycare, pick this one. read more

Worst experience ever! I left my dog with it for a week while visiting family in New York. My dog got a rash on his face, lost at least a few pounds, didn't get a shower and the nails trim like they said they would. I would not recommend to anyone. read more

We took our old man, Boston Terrier, to board for 2 days and they took such good care of him. The check in process was fast and easy and their customer service was very helpful and courteous. We rescued a dog about a year and half ago. Chloe had/has abandonment "issues". We were concerned about leaving her home alone for any more than 4 hours. We talked to a friend who has been bringing their dog here for years. We decided to try it. Well Chloe loved it! . I know she loves going because when we tell her she is going to Day Care she gets soo excited, jumping up and down. She "gets" to go to daycare at least once a month, even if we don't need her to be there. The people at the front desk are always helpful and friendly! I'm very satisfied so far with my experience with Oceanside Pet Hotel. The receptionist is the best, taking care of my cat Bull while we are moving between houses and he isn't allowed to be home. I'm sure they all think I'm the crazy cat lady there - but that's fine. She was so polite and lets me visit him on my lunch break and before work. (He was previously a sheltered cat, so I don't want him to gain abandonment issues). The pricing is the best in the area. We've boarded our dog there in the past as well and have no complaints - but truth be told, I am and will always be a cat person, and knowing my baby is safe and taken care of keeps me at ease in this hectic stress of moving. It's been my first day boarding him there, but I don't see any issues with the service to him and will edit this later if need be. read more

I can't say enough about this place! Everyone at OPH are always welcoming and supportive as well as extremely professional and knowledgeable. We had never used a boarding facility before with our dogs but have needed to now and feel very comfortable leaving our dog, Eva. They are very sensitive to her needs as German Shepherds can have upset tummies and get anxious when their routine changes. We thought she couldn't get along with other dogs and the team were able to introduce her to other dogs and she did great! I brought my dog to this location for over a year. Initially they were great. Then they started raising prices without notifying their customers. One day when I brought my dog in she did not want to go in. I thought she was just tired or not happy that day. When I picked her up a week later she had sores on her legs. I NEVER went back. The owner is extremely rude and refused to return my calls. I have found the MOST wonderful and FABULOUS kennel that loves my dog the way she deserves. I recently visited this facility to check on two dogs being kenneled while my good friends were on vacation. The staff couldn't have been more friendly! They not only brought the dogs out one by one but took pictures with my phone so I could let my friends know how their dogs were doing. The dogs were healthy and happy and having the time of their lives! Super staff, super clean facility and super care of the dogs! It's nice to know a loving environment like this exists should my daughter ever need to board her dog! read more

I've been taking my two dogs here for a couple of years. Both of them rescues, Sid a totally neurotic abandonment issue terrier, and Minnie Pearl the puppy is now a little over a year old. The first time each, both of them came out looking a little shell shocked, but I think it was because they had never stayed at a kennel before. Ever since, both of them have come out looking very happy, tails wagging, and they even seem happy now when we drop them off because we always either buy the play time or the grooming package so they can either hang out with other dogs or get some human interaction with the grooming, so I think they know it's going to be fun. They have reasonable prices, the grooming package is a bath, brushing, ears cleaned and nails clipped. They have a wide variety of choices to fit any budget. The staff that greets us are all super sweet and seem genuinely interested in our pups. They remember them even though we'll go many months in between visits. I know I'm biased and I think we have the cutest dogs ever, but they also seem to be big fans of our dogs and get excited when we show up, which makes me feel like they care and the dogs will be well taken care of. read more

I would just like to start by saying that I literally never give bad reviews. Also, this was my first experience using a dog hotel, and likely to be the last. So my family and I had planned a short 2 day trip, and chose this place since it was close by. Once we arrived I was pretty impressed since the place seemed nice and clean. The staff seemed to genuinely care about the animals and appeared friendly, well at least during the drop off. We opted for the basic package and to have updates and pictures sent via text about our dog. Not even 4 hours into our trip, I was contacted by the pet hotel by a young girl who claimed that my dog had parasites. Surely this wasn't true because our dog just had a thorough annual examination, which includes testing for such specific ailments. So just to be safe, we were polite and kindly asked them if they could just watch over him and let us know if there are any issues. Fast forward two days later when we were picking up our dog. The lady who had checked our dog in was noticeably rude to my wife, and started ranting on about how we should get a new dog out of nowhere. My wife was a bit shocked at how that lady was treating her, but instead of making the situation worse by arguing, my wife refrained, and we patiently waited for our dog to be returned to us. Now before we even saw our dog, we could smell something awful. When they brought our dog to us he smelled absolutely terrible. Our dog gets a bath at least every 2 to 3 days and had one prior to being boarded, and he has never smelled even a tenth as bad as he did that day. I was personally shocked myself and wondering what they could've done to make him smell that way. It literally smelled like he was locked in a space full of his own feces. Now I understand that the package did not include a bathing, but come on it was only a two day stay. Also, who would ever return a dog to someone like that? It was inhumane to say the least. The worst part was that for approximately two weeks our dog was acting very strange and seemed very timid. He used to run to us and be playful and happy, but when we got him home he seemed scared for a while. Luckily he is back to his normal self, but this place should be ashamed. read more

My husband and I recently moved from Orange County to Oceanside and we have a 13 1/2 yr old baby boy (dog) who is blind, deaf, arthritis in both hips. The staff and manager, Sydnee, are so patient, loving and caring. I thank God he led me to Oceanside Pet Hotel and day care. My baby now has been diagnosed with a brain tumor and they still let me drop him off for day care. What a loving staff!!! Just can't say enough about them . I absolutely do not recommend this facility to anyone for boarding. I have to say they did a great job of convincing me that boarding my baby there was a good idea but that was not the case at all. I've boarded him elsewhere before with absolutely no issues. Everything leading up to his stay went fine. I visited the facility a couple times, had all my questions answered, got a tour of the facility showing me the nice long indoor/outdoor kennel he would be in, and I even brought him in the day before we left for daycare so he could get to know them and vice versa. Everything seemed great and I felt confident in trusting them with my baby, I thought it was going to go so well. However, my experience at Pacific Pet Resort was so much the opposite that my friend had to pick my dog up TWO DAYS EARLY because of how bad it was. We dropped him off on Friday morning and gave them his food and they assured me everything would be great. I called later that day to check up and was told everything was going fine, and called again the next day in the morning and again was told everything was fine. A few hours later I get a call from one of the managers saying my dog is showing food aggression and they think it's best he be taken home. It isn't until now that they tell me he hasn't eaten either of the meals they fed him, he just tried to hide it and then showed some aggression when they took it away and is now not letting any of them handle him at all. At this point I'm so confused and worried about my baby because he has NEVER acted this way before. But I didn't think too much of it at this point because they were so nice on the phone I believed they were genuinely concerned for the well-being of my dog and not their own convenience. Regardless I'm so upset because I could only imagine how scared and insecure he had to feel to act this way, and I felt helpless as I was out of state and couldn't get back to him. They insisted that it would be best for him to go home so I had my friend pick him up. My friend told me she did not trust the way they treat the animals in their care. The kennel attendant that took her back was thanking her over and over again for coming to take him away, didn't say a single positive thing about by dog except the fact that he was leaving, and she could hear workers in the background telling the dogs to shut up because they were barking. Then, when they got to my dogs kennel she said it was WAY smaller than the ones they showed me. Then she said my baby was shaking so bad and so visibly stressed out that she knew something wasn't right, she said she'd never seen a German Shepherd shake like that. THEN (and this is the part that made my blood boil) she said the second the guy put his hand on the latch my poor baby PEED himself because he was so scared. My dog has NEVER EVER done that before so I knew right then that something really was wrong. After seeing that she demanded that he let her in the kennel and he questioned her like he was concerned my dog would attack her or something even though Duke recognized her by now was was jumping up on the gate and licking at it because he wanted to see her. She just grabbed the latch and opened in and she said he immediately was so happy she was there. Then they gave her a slip leash, which they were informed to use with caution because he HATES those, and she even brought up that I told them that and the guy just said "I don't know, maybe" well excuse me but isn't it your job to know that?! And on top of that they wouldn't have given his collar, leash, and harness back if she hadn't asked about it. When she asked the guy said "oh do you want those?" OF COURSE. Why would she not? And they didn't give any of the three days worth of food back, claiming there wasn't any left even though he'd only need there one day and hadn't eaten anything as I was told. Overall I was not pleased with my experience at all. The office staff is very nice but the staff that handles the animals directly seems incompetent and inexperienced and I will never be going back. read more

You really can't beat their prices for dog boarding. I just put my two year old dog in here for five days with one day notice. The girls were all very nice and my dog came back happy as ever. She did come back with fleas though which she didn't have before. Oh well not the end of the world but would be nice if in the future they required dogs there to be clear of fleas/ticks. I've also boarded my two dogs here and had no worries about the care while I was away. Front office staff and pretty much all staff I've met here were very nice and helpful. I have been taking my black lab Bear to the pet hotel for about 6 months now on the weekends, and I could not be happier. Bear can have some anxiety about leaving me, but not when he goes here! As we are driving down the street leading up to Oceanside Pet hotel, Bear gets so excited! When I open the door, he nearly drags me inside!!! There have been a couple times where Bear had some medications that needed to be administered, and I had no hesitation that it would be done. Sometimes I will add in the junior playtime, but I also know that two walks are included with the boarding, so if I don't get playtime, i don't feel bad! The staff is always very welcoming and seem to enjoy Bear almost as much as he enjoys them!!!! read more

We have been bringing our big dog Mika to this kennel for six years off and on for one-day care and for two-week vacations. She always comes home happily exhausted from the regular play which she does not get at home. She did contract kennel cough at the kennel in 2011, but we were notified that it had been identified there by a BIG sign in the lobby and given a brochure explaining the care. We took her to our vet immediately and she recovered quickly. We keep her up-to-date on the inoculations and treat her for fleas and ticks regularly. We think that as owners it's our responsibility. The staff always treats her with a smile when we arrive and come to take her home. She seems like a happy girl there. We also board our cat. Although her quarters are always clean and fresh, she complains about everything. But then, she always does. Even at home. The staff who play with the cats comment and laugh about her cat-conversations with them. All in all, we are pleased with this facility and are glad it is conveniently located for us. read more

We stumbled upon Oceanside Pet Hotel and have had a wonderful experience! I just recently started bringing my dog here for day camp since I work a few buildings over from them. They're very friendly and the check in/check out process is very quick. I literally walk in to pick up my dog, less than one minute later there he is. I was able to take a tour and this place is so spacious. The dog kennels have access to outside, just in case they have an accident they can keep their habits of going outside. The cat room is huge and has a play room (of course not with other cats). I called and asked if they could keep him overnight and I would have my son pick him up. They were very accomodating and I know they took good care of him. If your pet has issues with higher temperatures, do not leave them here! Although they tell you the accommodations are a cozy 70 degrees, just after we signed our two Boyz (dogs) in for a 2-week stay we went to see them and there was a huge floor fan blowing on their 'hoods'. It was much hotter in their quarters than in the front office. We were concerned about this, but in a hurry, so we left them after being assured they would be OK. Called the resort after hours (claimed they had someone on staff 24 hours/day) and got no answer. During their advertised hours called them twice a day for two days in a row to inquire as to their well-being and discuss our concerns about the temperature and we got the stock "They are doing fine" answer after being put on hold by the party answering the phone who went back to check on them. This even after mentioning that one of our Boyz had trouble with heat and suggesting they cool him off if he was panting excessively. On the morning of the third day my wife received a call from the resort and then she called me (she was out of town)...""Blank" is dead" she said in a hysterical cry. I left work and picked up our Beloved "Blank" and asked again about the temperature and got the same 70 degree answer. That and a refund for removing our remaining Boy was all we got...no answers...no explanations...no possible means of closure. We can tell you that the temperature of the pets' enclosure is well above 70 degrees (at least that reported by the city but likely much higher due to the sun's exposure on the "dog run" which is open to the outdoors and joins their kennel area). No amount of air from a fan will decrease this temperature unless assisted by an evaporative cooler or an air conditioner. For the sake of our Beloved Boy, we take full blame for his death but assumed for the money we were paying he was in a comfortable location. If you have a pet that pants excessively when the temperature is elevated, think twice before dropping them off at a pet resort of any kind. Our remaining Boy is spending the rest of the 2 weeks at a nearby Veterinarian's office for a fraction of the cost and we have no concerns for his health or his future. True, they don't provide the costly fun as do the resorts but rather he be alive and upset with us for a while... read more
