This is the worst utility I have ever dealt with. They are so bad that if you are considering buying a home I would recommend checking which power company service area it is in, and factor the nightmare of dealing with Pacific Power into your buying decision. I called up Pacific Power because an electrician told me the old thread connections that were fraying on the service line could become a safety hazard. The account is under my partner's name but I live at the service address as well. When I told this to the person on the phone he told me he couldn't help me and sounded quite smug about it, to boot. This is for a potential safety hazard! Old frayed fabric could mean exposed wire. To avoid a similar debacle in the future my partner called and added me to the account. Fast forward six months and I call to simply request the amperage the service line can handle, give my information, and AGAIN am told I cannot be helped, even though I was supposedly added to the account on a previous call. Again, the person on the line seemed rather satisfied when she told me she couldn't help me. So I just called back and gave my girlfriend's name. I sensed the doubt in her voice and basically dared her to say something on a recorded line about a man's voice with a woman's name in this day and age ahahah. They were rather respectful for the rest of the call. However they don't have the amps of the service line or meter on file. What kind of outfit is this? Eat me pacific power read more

On Monday afternoon, 8/13/2018, my Pacific Power & Light smart meter was installed by an independent contracting company, Aclara. The installation only took 4-5 minutes but when I went out to look at the meter, I couldn't open my gate that accesses the side yard. It was wedged shut (The two sides were off kilter so wouldn't open or close.). I called PP&L who told me to reset the breaker and everything would probably be ok. After I explained to her what a gate was (a way to go from the front yard to the back yard!), she referred me to an 866 number to file a claim. I did that immediately. The representative assured me she would expedite my request. On Thursday, 8/16/2018, I called them back. That representative said she could not find any record of my call. Finally, after being on hold 6 or 7 minutes, she found the information. She stated she would have someone call me. As of today, 8/21/2018, I have not heard from anyone. I'm hoping that posting on social media will spur them on to contact me. read more

When you are a monopoly you can just be complete garbage I suppose. They charge you a convenience fee for making you have to call in and pay every month? Not convenient where's he autopay feature? Option doesn't let you go back so if you press the wrong button you just wasted five minutes and have to restart their payment system process all over again. I literally am waiting for my hourly paychecks from working so hard in the phone to pay my bill every month. Oh, they will auto send you to collections at the end and never contact you even with a new address. Worst company in town by far. read more

I have called Pacific Power Customer Service 3 times now on the same issue, total hours of 3.35 minutes to update service to myself on 3 properties. I received previous billing on two properties after a 1 hour and 55 minute call with hold times to get supervisor approval to send the previous billings. I did get 2 but not the third with the largest bill due. Do you think that I could get that after another 2 calls and requesting a supervisor? Nope. I had to tell the rep several times that I heard her the first time she explained (after explaining another three times for me to listen through) but she was not understanding, after getting supervisor Jennifer she hung up on me. I called back for another 30 minute call only to be told that she couldn't send me what I needed. Once more I said yes I know that's why I asked you to speak to a supervisor, after a 12 minute wait I hung up. What a ridiculous company. read more

Never in my life have I lived anywhere that has so many power outages. Annoying but forgivable on regular days. It has been record breaking hot (triple digits) and this is the third time in 24 hours that the power has gone out. This is ridiculous. We better get a discount on our bill this month. read more

This is the best power company I have ever used, with good rates and caring service. Having owned rental homes and commercial properties in two states and three provinces, I have dealt with many power companies... none so noticeably customer-service oriented as this one has proven to be for the last five years. read more

As if they couldn't get any worse... I moved from my residence that used PP in August 2012 and provided them with the forwarding address that they should send my final bill to. ONE YEAR LATER (two weeks ago) I receive an "Oops! We forgot to send you this bill" bill for $72. I toss it in the bill pile, to pay later, and go on with my life. TWO WEEKS LATER, I get a notice from a collection agency informing me this debt was given to them for collection!!!! Seems that, despite the fact that this was PP's fault and were operating just find without the $72 for the last year, they suddenly decided that they really, really wanted that $72. And NOW. Assholes. Seriously. I paid that shit immediately and when I did, the CSR told me I wasn't the only on PP did this to, as she handled another annoyed caller earlier that day. Unbelievable. read more

If you can avoid it, do not use pacific power. After I moved out away from my old house, they kept changing the amount that I owed. I finally received a "final bill" about 2 weeks ago. Today I received a call from a collection office! Already! I called pacific power and asked them why I was already sent to collections when I barely had enough time to call them and make payment arrangements. They claim they sent me my bill in August. It's October and I just now received my final bill. I've never trusted their usage readings either and am much happier with my current utility company. read more

Huge shout out to Pacfic Power for the worst customer service ever. You have a faulty neutral that blows the power in my house. You technician then says he has a temporary fix because the part is the town over but he can't get to it for a few days. He gives me a claim number and tells me to start checking all my appliances because the power surge could blow and damage anything that may have been plugged in. He gets everything turn hooked back up and says I'm ready to go. Well, he was right . So far we have found the dryer, garage door and worst of all the fridge. It's now day 4 and we have lost all our food . The tech gave me a claim number. I call the power company to figure out what they are going to do or when they will be out here with permenant fix so we have restored full power. What am I told, these things take time.... I get these things take time. I could care less about the non essential items ... however I need a fridge to keep the food cold for my kids. All they could say was... keep all receipts. WTH? Screw you and your investigation... your tech already said it was your faulty neutral .. read more

I suggest you pay your bills NOT on line..I have gone thru hell and back today because THEY didn't have the correct amount on my renter's account. Nor did they send me a notice for disconnect of services. I am thankful I am home or my tenants would be disconnected. We also have a personal account at our farm..which is in excellent standing yet we still had to submit a deposit.. I haven't had to pay a deposit in 40 years!!! Now after all this they are rejecting my payments!!!! And probably cutting off the power!!! read more

Ok so I'm 41 years old and no dummy... We had a glitch with our power to the house. I checked everything in the home only to find the pacific power meter smelling of burnt wires. I shut down the main and called for assistance.... Do your best at guessing who answered the call............ Yep it was the devil. I'm a single father of three with concern of my house burning down with this issue..... Some POS on the other end of the line says hire a licensed contractor to come look at it............... WTF. Trying to call and talk to an actual human at Pacific Power has proved difficult a number of times. However, one particular staff member at Pacific Power named Cody was **extremely** helpful and patient. My folks had their heat service (gas furnace) through Pacific Power when I was in high school and don't remember any problems. Until recently, I've only ever used PGE (with fine service), but when I moved about a year ago, i had to switch over to Pacific Power for electricity and gas service (for the stove). It's been a great switch. Their customer service has been uniformly excellent, with very friendly and capable employees, and their website is very easy to use. I really highly recommend Pscific Power. They provide great service! read more

If I could give negative stars I would. What a piece of crap company. They have no problem turning your power off without notice. Got home from work. Power was shut off. They can't help same day, so I am left with no lights, no heat and no way to cook food for my wife and young child. Good thing it's the coldest it's been all year. read more

Anyone else purchase appliances, windows, etc. for a home upgrade based on a promised rebate from Pacific Power only to have them give you the finger because that xxx isn't covered by our rebate program. You go to their website and find your items listed, tell them, only to have them remove it. This company cares little about customer concerns. I don't have automatic payments with any company that has variable charges because resolving billing errors are easier when they don't already have your money. My monthly bill arrives in an envelope that Pacific claims is better for the environment since it's supposed to be recyclable while the same envelope contains several propaganda papers that are totally unnecessary and probably aren't recyclable since they go in the wastebasket. The envelope has a tear strip on the back that when pulled rips most of the glue strip off requiring tape to ensure it stays closed in the mail. My call to ask if they could return to a standard envelope resulted in a comment that I should elect the automatic payment method if I wasn't happy. read more
