The staff is friendly here but after two IVF sessions with nothing to show for, I wouldn't recommend it. $21K plus medicine fees lost. I will upload more info as time goes on. As patients we were treated well, however their communication needs serious improvement. We constantly had to email follow ups because they never got back to us with important information. My review is based on my 1 retrieval round, a hysteroscopy, and 2 transfers of 4 embryos with Dr. Rifaat Salem. If you have a high TSH of greater than 1.5, I strongly urge you to advocate for yourself and push Dr. Salem to treat your underlying hypothyroidism. When he saw me, my TSH was over 4.0 immediately prior to our first transfer. This transfer of 2 embryos failed implantation. I brought up my TSH and asked him if he thinks I should be on medication for this (I had read that thyroid issues should be addressed with fertility treatments) and he said--no, not at this time yet. We waited a couple of more months then attempted another transfer of 2 embryos which again failed implantation. At this point, I gave up with PRC because I realized he was too incompetent or outright neglectfully ignoring my thyroid issue. Fast forward several months later, I switched doctors and went to the new IVF center in Rolling Hills. When my new doctor reviewed my chart, he wondered why my TSH was not addressed. He explained although 4.0 is not entirely abnormal, that the ideal range when TTC should be less than 1.5. Then what is more shocking is that Dr. Salem is supposed to be a "reproductive endocrinologist" --our thyroids are part of our endocrine system. Why did he ignore my TSH? I will never know unfortunately (unless maybe he can contact me directly and explain). Subsequently, I then started seeing an endocrinologist and he, too, was perplexed why my TSH was not addressed. Other than the incompetence of this "reproductive endocrinologist", I have to give credit to the wonderful nurse assigned to my case named Akira. She was accommodating in my work schedule and available by text. Rita at the front desk is an asset to their team. I wish they could have been transplanted into the other provider office I was treated at, and eventually became pregnant that same summer after my TSH was treated with Levothyroxine and with a steady TSH level of ~1-1.5. read more

Our journey with IVF and Pacific Reproductive Center started pre-pandemic in 2019, so it has been a long journey. My partner did extensive research on IVF clinics and based on Dr. Salem's reputation and track records, we picked Pacific Reproductive Center. We couldn't have been happier with our decision. Dr. Salem is very knowledgeable and experienced with all aspects of IVF. He's also very personable and caring which put us at ease right away. All the procedures went very smoothly and we received the best medical care possible; and the results were great. We worked with two coordinators - first Akira and then Daysy - both were very accessible, organized, thorough and sweet, which made this complicated process much more manageable. All the other staff including nurses, anesthesiologist and embryologist are all very professional, helpful and caring. Overall, we felt they really saw us not as clients/patients, but as families and they are really in the business of helping families. I have gone to every PRC clinic and have loved the attention and care I've received at them all. I was seen at their Torrance location for both my hysteroscopy and my egg retrieval and I cannot begin to express how thankful I am to have had the care of the staff during these procedures. Every nurse, doctor, and specialist introduced themselves to me and explained everything in detail. I felt absolutely safe and cared for by everyone attending. I would also like to give shout outs to Olga and Pam who were my nurses for both procedures and they honestly took the best care of me. I will forever be thankful for their care and patience. I have had miscarriages and not able to conceive for over 10 yrs but here at this facility and their office (my main office) in Corona are miracle workers with Gods blessing!!! I'm so glad we found PRC and Dr. Salem's team! This is our 2nd fertility clinic and more affordable since our insurance plan covered some of the ultrasounds and some doctor's appointments. It was also several miles closer than our previous clinic. At the other clinic, I felt like a number since there were multiple nurses and doctors and I saw a different nurse each visit. There were also some mix up with expired consent (which lasts 1 year) so we couldn't do a round of IUI even though I did the ultrasounds, clomid, and paid for it already. It was very frustrating and disappointing. I liked how this is a smaller clinic so I really got to know the staff and nurses and the doctors. It felt more cozy and family oriented. Jessica was my nurse coordinator, nurses Kate, Rose, Kathy and other nurses were attentive, kind, and caring. Dr. Akira was also knowledgeable, patient and also spoke mandarin. Embryologist Mei answered my questions and also spoke mandarin which was an asset. Dr. Salem's experience and expertise put me at ease and he answered all of my questions and concerns as well. We did 2 rounds of IVF and transferred 2 embryos and one survived. Our baby girl will be born end of January 2024 and look forward to her arrival. This review has been a long time coming... So, our infertility journey started off with lots of questions, with no real answers. It was to the point we questioned if we would ever be blessed to have a child. Throughout the duration of 6 years I suffered from Male factor infertility, we tried and tested for everything to include; 4 IUI's, male hormones to assist, acupuncture, and 2 rounds of IVF.   Our second round of IVF was here at Pacific Reproductive Center and let us tell you... the Staff here was great, Alex our case manager did her absolute best to make sure we understood everything that was happening from the consultation to the day they released us to my wife's OB. The entire staff from the receptionist to the nurse's in the back (they helped my wife feel so calm through the procedure) did everything in their power to assist us in being able to now hold our little bundle of joy. Our healthy baby boy was born in 2018 and he went full term, weighing in at 6lbs. 19" long.   We can't thank you enough Dr. Salem and to all of your staff. There are multiple reason why I would not recommend PRC. I will only list the most disappointing. The communication at this office is poor at best. We were constantly given mix information, the dr appeared to have no real desire to make me, or more importantly my wife comfortably at any time. There were 3 separate occasions they mixed her up with another patient. On the day of our egg retrieval they almost performed a Hysteroscopy instead of the egg retrieval we were in for. We received no follow up or communication after our egg retrieval. I mean zero!!! Because of these and many other reason we found a new provider that is light years better, which really showed us how terrible PRC is. It is now 7 months later and we are having the hardest time getting our egg transferred to our new Dr. We paid, we followed all the rules, and trusted PRC through this stressful and emotional process and they have shown no respect, passion, or professionalism that you would expect from a clinic trying to make dreams come true. On billing: The billing practices are horrible here. I received care at the Corona clinic, confirmed a zero balance when care was complete, but then received a bill for $2,600 in the mail nearly 3 years after completing care. The bill had service dates of 5 months before I was even a patient at the clinic. Also, the charges were what I was told embryo storage would cost. Except, I didn't have embryos stored. Apparently the clinic has had a turnover of personnel who manage the financial transactions-but that doesn't excuse the inaccuracies or extremely late billing notice. I have contacted my clinic in Corona who handled my financial transactions for care, but have been referred to the Torrance location. However, the representative who handles billing isn't available! This run-around is unprofessional and dismissive! Patients, beware of this clinic and make sure you save ALL copies of financial transactions for YEARS beyond service completion. I'm posting this review on both clinics pages because they're obviously both responsible. On care: I felt like a number being passed through the chair. The treatment was cold, uncaring, and the room was bleak looking. The room I received care in was dilapidated and Dr. Salem was anything but personable. I started coming here a couple months ago after a bad experience with another doctor. The staff here has been great, always so nice and inviting. My clinical nurse Jessica is very knowledgeable and compassionate, Eiza is flawless at drawing blood, which is great when you are dealing with a stressful situation. The only reason why I am giving PCR one star is because 0 stars isn't an option. My wife and I came here following a semen-analysis at the recommendation of my urologist at the time after a few months of trying to get pregnant. Dr. Salem's bedside manner over zoom was not great to say the least. He didn't seem to know the generic names of the prescription medications that my wife was on and said that there was no possible way for us to get pregnant the natural way. We asked about IUI since it was the cheaper of the two options and he said no and to immediately go for IVF, the more expensive/invasive option. We left the meeting unimpressed. My nurse coordinator Jessica is the best. Every question I had has been answered. I get seen right away as well. They work with my schedule. My experience with PCR was amazing. I went into the process of ivf believing it would be very unlikely to have a successful pregnancy. A few years back my aunt who had the same problem as I did was unsuccessful with her IVF at a different fertility clinic. I did a lot of research and saw that PCR had high success rate so I decided to give them a try. From the first day the staff was friendly and helpful. They made it seem like they were 100% sure that I would become pregnant while I was still skeptical. Today I am happy to say I have healthy 3 month old twins. Stay away from this clinic. I had such a terrible experience there from the beginning. I only went there because my ob-gyn recommended the clinic. They never knew my name and were always mixing me up with other patients. Trey, my coordinator, would call me answering questions thinking I was another patient and would forget that she had already talked to me when I did have questions. Even the day of my retrieval while I was in the operating room they were going over with me on the procedure and I had to stop them telling them I was there for an egg retrieval not a Hysteroscopy. She apologized and said she thought I was a different patient. This was right before the procedure!! I never got a follow up call after the retrieval. Not to check to see how I was doing and not a call to give me an update on how my egg freezing went. Fast forward to 7 months later, I am now working with a better clinic and we have been trying for 7 months to get my frozen egg transferred to my new clinic and they have made it so difficult to transfer my egg. IVF is a scientific procedure with no guarantees based on many variations and factors. My husband and I visited 3 IVF clinics throughout Los Angeles. Because of my health history we aggressively sought the wisdom and truth of the risks to me and the best opinion of how possible it would be for me to get pregnant and maintain it to deliver a baby. My HCG was 18 which is almost menopausal, which means my eggs are old and bad. It was advised by 2 clinics; I use a donor egg and a surrogate. The other Dr. was so negative about me getting pregnant he suggested I just adopt. My next appt was at PRC. We decided to initially just purchase 1 try with PRC. Dr Salem communicated he would do everything possible to get me pregnant. He was very positive despite the high HCG. Unfortunately it didn't work. Because he was so optimistic using an aggressive drug protocol, I was highly let down after that. So we interviewed another 3 clinics. Interviewing Dr's was rarely free, most of all my researched required I spend $200-500 per Dr. to just meet with and Dr Salem was free. But after going through the process with Dr. Salem once before and my experience doing so, it gave me a hands on perspective of how they run their clinic, the staff, etc. Therefore we decided to go back to Dr. Salem and try again. Before starting, we made a commitment to ourselves of how many times we would try an after that trust Gods answer whether with a baby or not. We were much more realistic about the process and what it would take. Research included not just meeting Drs but also reading about others experiences on blogs, websites, books to get an idea of the pain, the failure/success rate, etc. Based on that perspective, we bought a 3 try package which required a percentage of the total cost up front. Someone failed to mention in their review is that you don't have to pay all up front for that type of package. It's based on results. If you get preg with the 1st attempt you don't owe anymore money. And with each procedure you pay for that. The doctors are not our friends and they can't get emotionally involved with each patient, and you can't expect them to. What they communicate is the truth even if it hurts. We are adults and have to understand what we are doing. From the first time we tried to the second time, I only produced 4 eggs, which leads to very poor odds. But you have to take you health into your hands. The Dr. wanted me to go on birth control pills to regulate my period but I refused. The reason is because I have a period every 28 days, without variation, but birth control is part of their standard protocol. I said, no and that is one example of how I stood for what I believed in. The 1st attempt/ with the package of 3, resulted in a pregnancy but I miscarried, I had to go through a D&C and wait again a few months. The 2nd attempt resulted in a full term pregnancy and my son is now 10 months old. So had we just bought a 3 try package, we would have saved ourselves money but live and learn. Be realistic, if you have odds against you, just buy the large package, based on how many times you're willing to try; how bad you want to get pregnant. The staff were honest and amazing. No one puffed us up with false expectations which was what we needed to hear to protect our heart. We would walk away after meetings upset, frustrated, irritated with their honesty because we wanted to hear the fairy tale ideals that would give us what we wanted. Truth be said there is no way, they should have done anything different. The finance dept was informative, worked with our insurance and found grant money (however we didn't qualify) so not sure why people are neg about that too. It's a business and they need to be paid for the high quality, educated staff. All the doctors, scientists, embryologists, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff were amazing. The only person we had an issue one time with was the female Dr. Salem when she did my ultrasound and I had miscarried. She didn't communicate what was going on. BUT I spoke up and the office met my needs, apologized and after that Mr. Dr. Salem did my procedures after that. She also apologized. I recommend them and would do it again if we had the money. read more

We went to Dr Salem for two IUI procedures. The staff was okay, but Dr. Salem needs some bedside manners. In our first attempt, we had eight embryos. We told Dr Salem that we were willing to put two embryos and freeze the remainder. He tried to convince us to put in more. That we would have a better success rate. But we would also have a higher chance of twins, triplets, or more. It seemed like he was really more worried about his success rate than ours. After our attempt failed, a nurse called us and told us of the unsuccessful attempt. When we called to talk to Salem to try and do the another attempt with the frozen embryos, he asked why. It was only then that he realized our first attempt failed and he talked as if it was no big deal. Before, we tried our second attempt. They called us in and Salem tried to sell us a three package deal. We pay for three more attempts for a reduced price. We said we would like to try the second attempt first before making a decision. He said that frozen embryos aren't as good as fresh ones and our chances were slim. Why would we pay for three attempts if the second and third tries are going to be slim. He just seemed into draining us of our savings in order to get pregnant. After the second failed attempt, we decided to change doctors. Weeks later we kept getting phone calls asking what we should do with the remaining embryos. As far as we knew there weren't any embryos left. After our second procedure, we were told that the remaining embryos weren't good enough to try and that they would get rid of them. A few months later we got insurance bills for apparently a third procedure from Pacific Reproduction. We called and informed our insurance company that we only tried two procedures with them. They tried claiming a few times until we called and told them to stop. There are better facilities to go to than here. I would never recommend them. read more

Dr. Salem is a highly informed and incredibly helpful physician. My wife and I were referred by her OB/GYN based upon his track record with previous patients. We found the staff to be knowledgeable and helpful and considerate. It's a shame that people tend to get impatient and want to hold a physician's feet to the fire based on that. While we did have to wait a bit for our appointment, we were given Dr. Salem's express attention and consideration when he was with us. He instilled confidence in my wife as well as me and I would highly recommend him to anyone in need of his expertise. read more

I began to search for answers to my infertility in 2018 after not being able to conceive for 5+ years. I had seen an Endocrinologist and my Gynecologist and was told that I had PCOS which was likely why I was having a difficult time. At the beginning of 2019, I came to meet with Dr. Salem at PRC and after having blood tests done, he told me the same thing (about having PCOS) and that it would be an easy fix that would involve taking metformin and starting a Clomid cycle. I was relieved as I thought I'd have to do IVF. He also suggested that my husband have a semen analysis. When my husband's results came back, we were told that he had a low count and that the only option would be IVF as we'd have to do ICSI for the best outcome. This news was a shock to us both and something we had to come to terms with due to the costs and processes I would have to undergo. I didn't reach out to my Nurse Consultant, Alex for over a year after that, but she kept in touch which I liked. I finally contacted her around September 2020 stating that we were ready to begin our first IVF cycle. We met for a consultation in which she explained everything to us - all the procedures, medications, etc. Alex and the staff were very kind and welcoming during all of my visits and would answer any questions I had either in person, by phone, or email. I began my cycle in October and are currently on maternity leave scheduled to meet my fraternal twin boys on July 8th! We also chose to freeze our third embryo for now. Overall, I loved my experience at PRC and all the support I received from everyone there which made my IVF experience a positive one! Thank you PRC! read more
