We are always trying new hotels in the Morro bay area. We are a family of 5 and we always need a family suite because of having 3 teenagers. This hotel offered a family room with 3 queen beds and so we gave it a try. The hotel looks good from the outside and the staff were super great but the room is in need of a makeover. The floors are carpets from the 80s, the rooms are very small and the overall structure is very old with new paint. That being said the place was clean and the beds were good. So overall not a horrible hotel but we are going to keep on looking. read more

Danny and the manager that lives there are very accusing of my mistakes instead of thinking of their mistakes because I have been coming here for four years and this is the first time that they have disrespected me and my family with a fully open room to our reservation room. so just be careful make sure everything is clean although I did deal with blood stains on there sheets prior to this on the same exact timing. I did try to be understanding, and I did help the manager, which is anemic to literally change the sheets for her because of her condition and when the situation happened with the next reservation, she tried to throw her health into my problem when I did so much for that lady not even being a worker. It's very sad that she tried to throw in my face if the room was clean, which it was, but the principal of the matter was the door was open for three hours as Danny said so. Yikes. Don't be fooled by the pictures. This is a cheap motel. I was shocked with how dirty the room was and how there were things that didn't work. For example, the shower door seal was cracked and wouldn't close, so the entire bathroom got flooded unless I held the door closed with one hand. The ceiling fan swayed violently and made a rattling noise, making it impossible to sleep with it on. The soap was almost empty. The microwave and fridge were filthy and smelled like rotten seafood. The bedding had stains on it. The curtains had stains on them. There were food crumbs all over the side tables when I got in. I don't even want to think about all the invisible stains on the carpets. I felt uncomfortable the whole time. Thank goodness I was only here for one night. Also the "balcony" is just the walkway between rooms and the window is facing out onto that walkway, so you can't get any light or see the view if you want any privacy. Understandable if you know you're booking a motel, but it feels like everything in the advertising tries to convince you it's a boutique inn. Only good thing is that the woman at the front desk is SUPER nice. read more

Stayed here for a couple days and cannot express how happy I was with my stay, especially with how affordable it was. The hotel is located in a great spot, with food, shops, and the ocean only a quick walk away. The room itself was very nice, everything was clean, the utilities were up to date, and the TV even had Netflix, YouTube, Peacock, ect access if you have an account already. Staff were also lovely. I will absolutely stay here again next time I visit Morro Bay. Thanks for making our trip so great. read more

First time we've stayed there in the summer and even though they were booked up, we still couldn't hear anyone else. Clean and quiet room, friendly staff. Only negative is if you sit up on the patio you have to watch for bird droppings. Otherwise I have no complaints. read more

Stayed here 5/30&31. Your basic motel that looks like some renovations going on. Location is great, room size great. BUT, we got up charged for a 3rd floor room, ok I'll take that. The room, new redo, nice big but missing sooo much especially if it costs more. 1. Room heater wonkey- and it's cold there this time of year 2. No heat in bathroom - see above 3. No soap in shower 4. One chair and no seating besides bed. Room for a table and chairs but nothing. Eat on bed-sucks 5. No pictures on walls only white blank walls 6. Window shade broken 7. Coffee maker sucks. Not a big deal because a couple great coffee shops around the corner. I could go on but why? When I told the office person after first night, she had "never heard so many problems". Offered to refund our 2nd night if we wanted to check out. I hope they make it better for the next people paying for it All I'm sharing here is, if you are paying to stay in Morro Bay, you might want to rethink this place. We LOVE traveling to Morro Bay as a get-away from valley heat. This location was really a hidden gem. Small in location & outside appearance, but HUGE is friendliness, comfort & a great 'ocean view' from the 3rd floor. It is just two blocks (all downhill) to the Embarcadero, just know it is all UPHILL going back to the Inn. Staff was friendly and helpful, price was a great value. We opened the window in the front, and the one in the bathroom and had a nice breeze going through the room. Two drawbacks that keep me from a 5-star rating, low water pressure in the shower, and no elevator (I have a knee that decides it wants to get 'wonky' every so often). Other than that, we plan to stay here again when we come over (and repeat business is a great recommendation, eh?) read more

From the outside you'd never know how wonderful this little gem of a hotel really is. Do yourself a favor and book a room on the 3rd floor. The view from the room is absolutely extraordinary. You can see Morro Rock and the sunset each evening. It's just a short walk to many shops and restaurants and the staff here at the inn go above and beyond to make certain your stay is enjoyable. Comfortable beds, plenty of pillows, excellent shower pressure, mini fridge (that works well), small table and chairs so you can enjoy a meal while enjoying the view. Also, there is a lovely patio area on the second floor where you can sit outside and catch some rays while reading a book. read more

This was our first time staying here and we found this place through Airbnb. There is plenty of parking, they are two blocks from the pier and walking distance to restaurants and small mom and pop shops. The parking lot is well lit and we got a view of the water which was a plus! The room was very clean and spacious. Will definitely come back when visiting Morro Bay. read more

Go almost anywhere other than here. I wish I had read yelp reviews before booking this hotel. I'm not sure how other sites have better reviews. I gave 2 stars because the location of the hotel is convenient for walking and very close to attractions/restaurants. The beds were at least somewhat comfortable. It was affordable for our large family. But that's where the positives stop. -we stayed in the "2 bedroom suite". To clarify, this is a very small space for being two rooms and three beds. Also, there was only one bedroom with a door on it. The other one was open to the living room and was the only route to the bathroom. The living room consisted of a double bed, a small tv, and two small chairs...so no room for "hanging out". Outside the front door to the room there was a small table with a couple plastic chairs, which is I guess where you're supposed to eat meals etc. This facility is not well taken care of, and it shows. Multiple patched holes in walls that had not been painted over, faucet with plastic parts falling off, really old cabinets that desperately need attention. Very dusty blinds that were broken, and windows open right to the street on one side and to their dumping spot on the other side. Bathroom is tiny and has no ventilation, but if you open the bathroom window the building next door has direct view right into the room. There was a piece of food stuck to the wall in the kitchen. There were ants in the kitchen area upon arrival, and when I mentioned it upon checkout I was told that is normal, that the ants are just looking for water, and there's nothing they can do about it. What's clear is that this hotel doesn't care about good customer service, or giving a good experience. read more

We stayed one night on a road trip. Every room in the hotel is undergoing a renovation (we were told). Our room was very, very clean. Plenty of space but very spartan. The furniture is old, there is no artwork on the wall. But... the bathroom looked newly redone and the carpet seemed new. The beds were comfortable and so were the pillows. Got a great night's sleep. We were on the third floor. It's important to note that there is no elevator - walk up only. The ocean view was really great from our room but those with mobility issues will want to request the first floor. Based on the reviews we were a little reticent, but we had a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Better than we expected. read more

I stayed in a 2 queen bed room on the first floor over Labor Day weekend. This was a good place for the price for one night. The bed was very comfortable and the lady who checked us in at the front was friendly. The motel is well-appointed and only a 2 minute walk from the main drag. Stayed here for 3 days, 2 nights. Within the first 24 hours we'd needed to replace our key cards twice because all sets stopped working. The stairs look kind of scary, held up along a single diagonal pole and some steps cracked and others missing chunks. I've stayed in probably close to 100 hotels/motels/hostels/airbnbs before and this is the first time that I had some sort of allergic reaction to whatever was used on the (very thin, may I say) blankets and pillows in these rooms. I don't have sensitive skin, but when I tell you that I woke up after the first night to a swollen face and throat, it was not pleasant. Also, the outlets next to the beds in our room didn't work. Aside from these inconveniences, the room seemed clean and all other utilities worked well. Great location and restaurants and shops are in walking distance. read more

Yay, first to review! I was worried when I booked this place. I saw reviews of it (yelp failed me and I had to go to other websites) and they were not too flattering. So I was actually pleasantly surprised. For $70 we had a king sized bed and a FIREPLACE!!! Bring your own log, we brought one of those that burns for three hours with no hassle, and it was awesome. Yes, the place wasn't that nice, the bathrooms were sort of dingy and everything was old, but that's why its a motel. It was fairly clean, close to the beach, the a reasonable price. This was a very nice Morro Bay experience. We've been coming to Morro Bay for over 20 years, because our first experience together, while we were dating, made us so happy! We used to book a classic landmark Morro Bay location, for it's romance and ... well ... it's really romantic ... but, the ownership of the property has been shifting around, a lot, quality- and availability-wise, over our preferred time period, for the past 15+ years, so we started looking for places a little closer to the main action ... the Embarcadero area. Point 1: Convenience = Top Notch!!! You are 2 blocks, down hill, from the room to the Embarcadero ... walk to a great breakfast location (Sun'n'Buns) Point 2: Okay ... this is Point 1, for my lovely bride, Laura ... CLEANLINESS of the room was excellent. She always checks out the bathroom, when entering a rented space, and I think our neighbors could hear her cries of joy, when she saw that the bathroom was clean. Point Overall: This is a great place to stay, when you are in the area, and need a great place to stay that (a) you don't want to spend a fortune on and (b) does everything you could want, in a place to stay, while you enjoy so many other things, outside of your motel room. read more

Room was great for the price. I keep finding little places in Morro Bay that are worth staying at. After booking this hotel I read some of the Yelp reviews and started to worry about it. Room was clean, large, and the bed was comfy. A few things that kind of lined up with the reviews: 1. The weird "rose" of toilet paper left on top of the roll. Just looks like a wad of toilet paper. No one is going to use that. 2. Things that were broken in the room. We only had the toilet seat that moved if you say on it. 3. If you're on the bottom floor, you hear everyone upstairs. It was like they were tap dancing. 4. This is the most important one. The only reason this place for a 4 star rating. Sketchy maid!!! I read some reviews that things were stolen, so we decided not to have maid service till we left. We put the "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door when we went to breakfast. Upon return we saw the maid standing outside our door, then she got closer to the door and tucked in our sign. I'm not sure if she was checking if we were there and to enter without us answering or what. Then she turned around as we approached and she started asking us in Spanish, luckily I knew, if we needed service. We said no. When we decided to leave again, we hid a few things and I tucked the sign in the door a certain way and took a pic to know whether she entered after we get back. Also, I believe she brought her kids to work and they were running up and down the hall of each level. Overall, I liked this place and will be going back to stay. In April I thought of celebrating Father's Day at the coast so off I set to find accommodations for 5 people. I initially found a deal on bookings.com but after taxes and website fee it was cheaper if I booked through the hotel itself. Every week I called to confirm my room was still available (situations in the past have led me to do so) Staff were so friendly on each call and very welcoming upon arrival, Lobby was clean and neat, I thought this was setting the scene for the room I was about to enter. *NOT* Once inside the room (double standard bed with standard size pull out sofa) I noticed many dirty markings on the walls, even some numbers written in red marker, and minor chips and holes that could be easily fixed at minimal effort. When I saw the lumpy futon, I was rather disappointed, since their website and bookings.com advertise "double standard beds with standard pull out sofa bed". Here I have a lumpy brown futon that when unfolded the middle bar stabs you. I was surprised to walk into a room that also included a kitchenette with fridge, oven, stove and microwave (included outlets if you wanted to plug up to a 9v toaster) would have been nice to know, since remind you I had called every week for the past 6 weeks to confirm room, we could have saved money by bring foods to cook for our smaller meals. The standard beds were comfortable and all the linens were clean on both beds, (linens were included for the "sofa bed also) Bathroom was a little tight squeeze but we made do. No ventilation in the bathroom while showering, and couldn't open the window because the next door people could see straight in if done so. BUT, here's the kicker to it all, I was staying on a Sunday night checking out Monday morning. At 11pm Sunday night the next occupants started rolling their trash cans out, I woke up many times due to them rolling out 7 trash bins through the walk way between the hotel and the next occupants (I thought I was dreaming until my grandfather confirmed it in the morning) AND the trash trucks come at 8am with all their noise!! So much for sleeping in on my vacation!!! Upon check out I went to ask if I could get a discount on the room because of the disruption and I was told oh "no it's not a part of the property there's nothing I can do" Well plenty I can do with a review Save your $145 and elsewhere! Stopped in for a one night stay while on my way to a wedding. Checking in was easy enough and the rooms are spacious. Location is great and it's nice to catch the ocean breeze. That being said, every aspect of our room had something just a little off. There were strange cracks in the walls, there was a pubic hair on the toilet when we got there and the toilet paper was very low and torn up. On top of that, we checked in late and figured we would watch a little TV before bed but the television wasn't working. When we checked out in the morning, my boyfriend mentioned the television not working. The lady working the front desk said he probably didn't know how to use it. Umm.. we are both in our mid-twenties and work in technology industry so we are well versed in how a basic television works. He of course just politely explained to her that we examined the problem and that it might be worth looking into. Her response was to question why we were watching television anyways when we were on vacation (?!) We were shocked. After the interaction, the maintenance guy asked her what the problem was, she said we didn't know how to work a television and they both started laughing. It was an upsetting interaction and left a sour taste for the remainder of our day. Needless to say, the staff here could use a brush up on their customer service skills. I was unimpressed in the staff and the room, especially for the price. I would rather go anywhere else on my next visit into Morro Bay. read more

This place is horrible. right when we walked in are room you can smell mold and dirty carpet. my sheets had writing pen marks on them. They had no smoke alarm in the kitchen. The rooms are good sized. If I stay again I think I'll choose to be on the 3rd floor if possible. We had a room in the middle and could hear everyone walking around above us. Also I'm sure the views from the 3rd floor are better than the second. We had a nice time and enjoyed our stay. We of course didn't stay in the room to much. Everything's within walking distance food and shops that is and beach of course. If we return for a 3rd year in a row we will most likely stay here again. The WiFi works great as well. Nice place. Great location. I needed to get out of LA so I stayed here and it was nice and peaceful. Bed was fine. Bathroom was fine. The best part was the location. My only complaint was that there were a group of trashy people outside our room, talking loud all day and all night. I have never witnessed such stupid people who literally didn't think to go speak inside their rooms. I hate stupid, clueless, inconsiderate people who lack etiquette when staying at hotels. I would've liked for management to tell them to shut their traps and go in their rooms. read more

The worst hotel experience our family has ever had. Besides being dingy, old, poorly decoratedand no toilet paper in the room, my biggest problem with the room was that it had no working smoke alarms in the rooms. When we went to ask for it to be fixed the lady at the front desk said that maintenance had gone home for the day and the other cottage suite did not have a smoke alarm either. Pros: Very comfortable beds, decent updated rooms (not high end but adequate), wifi works decent and the parking is off the street. Coffee machine (made watery coffee), microwave and mini fridge! Cons: A $5 service fee each day for breakfast and maid service (per the female Indian owner). Isn't maid service always included? Why advertise free breakfast if it's really not free. The breakfast was decent. A long line for the waffle maker. A motor of some sort kept cycling on and off at the back of our room (#203). My family and I stayed in the cottage room which consisted of a living room set up with a pullout couch, two queen bedrooms and a full kitchen. Which included a stove, oven, microwave, and a fridge.
