We hired Ocean Grown Panel to clean our solar panels which are on a lightweight concrete tile roof that shouldn't be walked on. This company is garbage ! I called for service and it rained the day prior naturally I called to reschedule . They rescheduled for the next day , Tuesday . When the technician called and said he was 10 minutes away, I stated let's clean the inside and out of downstairs and I will set another call for the upstairs as my husband is immune system compromised. He agreed no problem . 5 minutes later I get a text from a person saying we don't work that way - it's not efficient for us to come back . WHAT ???? They could have charged me extra- I explained my concerned and still they refused to come . Not c we have to charge you extra- nothing . Just we can not come back because that's too much ! REALLY . Ryan at Ocean Grown Panels and his workers are awesome. I was looking for quotes on Yelp and NextDoor app for Christmas lights install and I saw his business sign on my neighbor's yard so I decided to reach out for a quote as well. He quickly responded and I researched his reviews and work on Yelp to compare others and decided I to move forward with him because he was so nice and work was good. He was not the cheapest, he was the medium so we thought that was a good sign as it was reasonable with the classic solid bulbs I wanted. I sent him our address and he looked up our house square footage and set a set up a day for install. Total price was $680 and it took just about under an hour. They were able to hang the lights with clips on our rain gutter as it was important to us to not have any staples or holes in our roof. They installed a timer and made it looks clean and festive during Christmas time! My kids and family loved the simplicity of the classic lights. Also they offered to remove our lights and store for next season with a returning customer discount. With the summer heat, my A/C units have been running in overtime. Since getting my Solar system installed back at the end of January 2020, they've accumulated a goo,on numbers are down compared to when they were first put in. Heat definitely plays a factor in reducing production but I was sure that dust/debris was also a factor, despite what many solar companies say. Ocean Grown popped up on one of my Social Media feeds and because I was just talking to my brother about panel cleaning, I decided to book an appointment. OG is local to me and had an easy to use online booking tool where you could see open time slots for any given day. Additionally, OG was very clear on their flat rate pricing. I booked an appointment for 6pm the same day. At around noon, I received a call from Ryan asking if he could come an hour early and that worked for me. When he showed up, he was professional, polite, and very courteous. He also explained his process and took before and after photos for me. After he left, I was very excited to see if my production change any and am happy to report that solar production certainly increased. I've posted before and after photos showing that I gained about 8kWh after the cleaning compared to the day before. Clear skies both days and same temps. I reached out to Ryan, who was quick to respond and provide all the information I was looking for. Prices are reasonable, and Ryan showed up himself to perform the cleaning. He is professional, ahead of schedule (and made sure I was ok with moving the appointment up, instead of showing up early without notice). Inspection/Cleaning was very quick, and well done! He took before/after pictures (attached to this review) and recommended that we schedule follow up cleanings every 4-6 months (without being pushy) to ensure increased efficiency for generating power. This review is long overdue. I'm very grateful of Ryan services because he was able to accommodate my request for installation of Xmas lights at the peak of the season. Ryan provided great customer service because he was booked but was flexible with his schedule. I informed him of my expectations because of my background with the Marine Corps with attention-to-detail during the design phase and he superseded those expectations. I also informed him with my concern of drilling holes because my home is made out of stucco and he assured me no holes will be required which was also a relief because other contractors could not provide that service. I'm really happy with the service I received. Marc arrived on time and communicated well via text to make sure we had the appointment set and to confirm the night before and before arriving. It had been two years since the solar panels were installed, so it was great that Marc included before and after photos to show how dirty they were and how clean they are now. He also emailed me a checklist of items they reviewed while up on the roof, which is an added value. We also saw a 13% increase in production on the first day after the cleaning, which helped justify the cost of getting them cleaned. We have had a great experience with Ryan with solar panel cleaning and pest wiring under the panels. He has been very diligent with checking in to make sure the wiring has kept wildlife out and has fixed any issues. We are currently wildlife free! Ryan did a great job on our panels. We knew our panels wouldn't give us optimum wattage and cuts into the efficiency if they are dusty and dirty. Ryan gave me the low flat rate of $89 to wash our 42 panels. I thought it would be messy and dirty with all the water. But I walked outside and the ground was dry. Ryan uses deionized water to wash so that the panels don't spot up. We are going to be on the every 6 months plan...unless we get lots of rain...you just never know in SoCal. Thx Ryan. read more

Ryan was referred to us by a neighbor for cleaning our solar panels and we are very satisfied with his service.
