They send out a young guy who spent a few minutes in the attic and came out saying the furnace was too old, without a model name/number and it had to be completely replaced because they don't make parts anymore. I was a little taken aback because I thought they would still make parts. I walked into the attic and clearly saw the brand was Honeywell and took a pic/video for a 2nd opinion. Today I called DZO and spoke to Alex live and he said he had a technician, DENIS, that would know how to fix it and he would come by the same day. He came right on time and within five minutes he determined it was the circuit board. He was like McGuyver! Then he asked to check my AC which hasn't been checked for at least a decade and determined it needed some freon. He actually cared about getting everything working well-- I was VERY impressed. I will definitely be using them for any of my heating/cooling concerns and have already began recommending them to my friends. Frankly, at that point, the business was his to lose - Dave is everything you've read here: knowlegeable, courteous, professional - overall extremely impressive. We had three different companies visit us that day, and my wife and I agreed that we'd go with Kester even given a reasonable cost premium - that was how comfortable we felt with him at that point. Three days came and went. We had the estimates from the other two companies promptly. But absolutely nothing from Kester. My wife called to make sure he had the correct email address (and received no response to her voicemail). I called - twice over a period of several weeks - and again our messages failed to prompt a return call. Not even the courtesy of letting us know - for whatever reason - that he wouldn't or couldn't take on the project. So, our project has been stalled for almost a month as we waited for what was our preferred vendor to deliver the promised estimate - and we still have absolutely no idea why we didn't receive it.
