They put in my countertop and that was great. But the contractor scratched it after install. I called the company I purchased the stone from and they advised that the fabricator should be able to buff the scratches out. My contractor is paying for this service. This happened before Thanksgiving . Finally got a call back and Pacific Stone will try to help. Of course there is a risk. But I appreciate the fact that they are trying to help. read more

We had two experiences with Pacific Stone, and this review combined one good experience with a very poor experience. A prior reviewer nailed it with, "this is a "hit or miss" company." Our first experience with Pacific Stone was positive. The second time, we were deeply disappointed: 1) A simply job cutting a vanity that they said would take a few weeks took six. 2) Multiple missed appointments and no communications, or a last minute e-mail (after we'd taken off work to be there). 3) After waiting six weeks, they lost the slab. The day before they were to install, they called asking what color it was because they couldn't find it. 4) After all of that, they cut the holes an 1/8" off. When we sent them pictures of the holes they said they would fix it. They took several weeks to respond. Ultimately, once the faucets were installed, it was true that we were able to even out the faucets so they they are not visibly "off," however it took weeks and multiple e-mails and voice mails to speak to them. I was pleased with the service I received from Pacific Stone. The estimate they gave me was in line, perhaps a bit less than other estimates. I gave them plenty of lead time so they were able to order, measure and install my beautiful new countertops very quickly. As with any project, things happen. The people I worked with were responsive to situations as they arose. Everyone I came into contact with was pleasant and more than willing to try and meet my needs. I was also pleased that they were willing and able to do hook up and some of the electrical work needed to complete my kitchen project. I love my kitchen and Pacific Stone did a fine job! read more

Sometimes you get great service, sometimes your calls do not get returned. Promises are made and not always kept. The worst customer service experience I've ever had. Multiple delays and poor communication. It was clear that they prefer to work through contractors, but at the end of the day, it's the customer paying the invoice. I'd like to share my experience with Pacific Stone, you can decide if this is the type of business you want to deal with. We wanted to have a black granite slab installed on our kitchen island - a simple job. May - We visited the showroom and Ian referred us to Intertile in San Leandro to go pick a slab. So far so good. June - The slab still had not arrived back in Concord. When we would call for an update it would take over a week to hear back, if we heard back at all. They called and said a guy was coming out to demo the existing countertop, but when he arrived he told us something entirely different. All he did was measure (again) and leave. July - Still no installation date scheduled, and no update on the progress. Remember, this is just a simple kitchen island. I can't imagine what a bigger project would entail. August - First installation date scheduled, but they called the day before and said that due to technical difficulties that they could not install. August - A second installation date was scheduled (and I took an entire day off of work, plus drove from SF to Antioch) and they called the MORNING OF to tell me that they were not installing. The slab had not even been cut and they said three of their guys were no-shows at work. I requested a refund and a very angry Christine called me back to let me know that they would not refund me for the slab that they had me purchase. I'm left with no kitchen island and no refund for the materials. And this has taken MONTHS. read more

We had granite countertops put in on 2 bathrooms and were very impressed with Pacific Stone from the moment we walked in. The whole process was explained to us and we had no trouble selecting 2 different slabs from their adjacent yard. The estimates and contracts were clear and done in a timely manner by Jerry and they were very accommodating about waiting 4 weeks for our cabinets to be installed first. The first installation went in without a hitch. The backsplashes were done so well we could barely see the caulking between the granite and the wall. The second installation didn't go quite as well. The backsplash caulking was thick and white (unlike the other one, which was clear). Part of the problem was our bowed wall, but we felt the granite splashes could be much closer to the wall. We called and talked to Ian and he sent someone out the very next day to re-do it to our satisfaction. The only minor complaint we had was getting a hold of someone using the extensions they give. We found a granite remnant at another shop and chose Pacific Stone to do the demo, installation and fabrication for our bathroom. Their price was reasonable and their front office responded to us in a timely manner and were very courteous. They started and finished the job within a week of receiving the granite! We were very pleased with the 2 crews that came out; 1 to do the demo and measuring and the other to do the installation. However, after the granite was installed we weren't as impressed as there were some blatant mistakes with the backsplash installation, which would require taking those pieces off. I was worried when no one seemed to be answering my emails, with a solution. But, we finally heard from Josh who was also part of Crew 1 who did the demo and measuring. He came to the house, worked into the evening, taking the pieces off and corrected the problem, to perfection. The owner also came out to make sure everything was ok., THANK YOU, Josh! If I could rate no stars I would.Simply because this Company was contracted out by Home Depot for my kitchen remodeling. I paid Home Depot 25,450 for my kitchen remodeling and they sent Pacific Stone to do my granite. It took forever but I was okay with it til I noticed a dent in my new hood over my stove. My husband and I watched them bump it, but it was covered with plastic do to painting we were doing. They sent me a certified letter blaming me for the damage. There was nothing wrong with my hood when the cabinet people did the work. I've filed a claim with Home Depot and so far I'm not happy about this situation and how it's being handled. I was also informed that this company often damage people's property while doing work and blame others. This was supposed to be a pleasant experience getting a new kitchen and instead it's been a headache. I'm very upset at this company for calling me a liar. I spent way too much money to be lying about a 230.00 hood. I would never recommend them to anyone and as far as Home Depot is concerned they need to find another granite company. #IThiscompanynotcool read more

Pacific Stone recently installed my kitchen countertop. They were very attentive, until I signed the contract and then all of a sudden things changed. First of all, I mentioned I was thinking about having my cabinets refinished and they indicated they did that type of work. I'm not sure if the sales person was doing this as part of Pacific Stone or on the side. Anyway, I kept asking for a proposal and he kept talking as if he already had the job. Finally, he sent me a contact (not a bid). I told him that I would just have the countertops done (I had already signed that contract and paid 50%). All of a sudden his whole demeanor changed. They scheduled an appointment for me to have a templete made without asking me what days would work and the only reason I found out about the date and time is because I called them. The same thing happened with the installation date. They just scheduled a date and time and I only found out because I called them. There were a few times when I tried to call them and their phone was disconnected (which was a little scary since they had already received 50% of my money). I guess they paid the bill and the phone was turned back on but then a couple of days later it was disconnected again (something about a carpenter's strike and pg&e). Anyway, they did put in the countertops, but they didn't caulk the sink and when I asked the salesperson about it , he said it was real easy and I could do it myself. Then he told me he would call me back and let me know when they would come and caulk the sink. That was three weeks ago and I have not heard from them. read more

I recently did a kitchen remodel with new cabinets,appliances,sink and granite counter tops. I was pleased with every thing except the granite installation. I indicated to the person that came out to do the templates that I wanted a flush mounted sink installation. When the two employees came out to do that installation the opening for the sink was to large. I called the shop and they told me they had cut the opening using the sink manufactures template and my only option was to live with it or get two new slabs. I had already spent a lot of time searching for granite slabs around the bay area and knew I would not be able to find anything I would be happy with. So I decided to go with the exposed sink installation. The installers still didn't get the opening even around the sink. At the end of the day when they left and I inspected the work they had done.I found uneven cuts, unsquare openings, highly visible seams, and damaged cabinets. In general it was very poor workmanship at best. After meeting with a company rep and the cabinet maker we resolved the problems as best we could. I would not use Pacific Stone again and would not recommend them for any one looking for a granite contractor. read more

Was referred by a co-worker after an issue with another fabricator on a very small marble vanity top project. Jerry was very accomodating in showing me their "remnants" and secured/priced the piece I wanted very quickly. Josh was fantastic in explaining every detail of fabrication and installation to my very meticulous and detail minded hubby, and Michelle who handled my phone calls was delightful in every way. The top is beautiful and it was measured, completed and installed within a week (and it would have been quicker but our schedule prevented that). The installation was flawless and Josh returned to supervise it. He clearly has a lot of experience and was very willing to share what works, what looks good, etc. One of the few people I would trust with an aesthetic opinion and I am a commercial interior designer. My very hard to please husband could not be happier. Would highly recommend. Great experience and can't wait to do our master bath. After reordering the requested counter top twice and holding my 2000 deposit for 3 weeks, they let us know that the "Manufacturer" sent the wrong product AGAIN. They then proposed we use a different product in a different color than we wanted at NO DISCOUNT to us! When we declined, cancelled the job, and asked to come pick up our deposit check, they refused to allow me to come pick it up in person! Pacific Stone has personally insulted my husband and I. Dealing with this business was one of the worst experiences we've ever had. The first delay was supposedly the wrong slab was delivered to their warehouse. We left messages for their scheduler to find out when the new install date would be. We received no return calls so we had to keep calling back ourselves. They finally told us the right slab would be delivered on Thursday. We hadn't heard from them the status of the new install date by Friday so we had to try and contact them ourselves again. Again no return calls from the scheduler until finally when we are told it still hasn't been delivered. When questioned about why doesn't someone go get it then we were told they didn't have anyone available and no truck. Finally given a new date for the following week. Monday comes around and still no word at all. I believe we got a response saying Tuesday they would come out in the afternoon. I had plans to work in the morning and then come home early to let them in. I called in the morning to confirm a rough time and was told finally later that morning that they weren't coming. If I hadn't called I would have taken off of work and no one would have showed up with no phone call notifying me. The scheduler finally called me in the afternoon to say that they weren't coming out! A little late!That week goes by and again one excuse after another after we keep having trouble getting any communication from them at all. Now we are going on five weeks after measurements were taken. We were told it would be 2 1/2 to 3 weeks at most. The last straw was when we are trying to find out again when it was going to be installed and we were told that the order is being cancelled! Their reasoning was that since everything had gone wrong and they weren't going to have a happy customer anyway they might as well just cancel everything. This was the owners decision. I really amazing way to handle their issues with this job. I was able to talk her into finishing the job because I really didn't want to start all over. read more

I had them do my kitchen, laundry and bath(s) counter tops. After having them installed (and paid for) we found that the new stove would not fit into the opening they had created. They came out and measured the opening between the new cabinets and installed the tops wrong. They continued to blame me for their error and would not come back unless paid additional money to correct their mistake. Had to have it corrected myself and to pay additional money to have the stove people come back to install it the second time. DONT use them they will blame you for their mistakes and refuse to correct their problems. Nice at the beginning , difficult to deal with when problem occurs. read more

Customer service was not good. No follow up or urgency is dealing with issues,their only sense of urgency was in getting paid and paid in full immediately. They did not caulk the sinks or tubs where they installed slabs among other quality issues we had. We called numerous times with customer service, repair, follow up issues and did not get our calls returned. I just called to advise them that I still needed my tub caulked ( after my kitchen sinks leaked all through the cabinets below as they were not caulked either) . Josh's response was "yeah we were supposed to caulk", when I said it still needed to be done he said "yeah", I said I would like them to come out to complete this and he said without much enthusiasm or apology, "can I call you back to schedule a time?" which truthfully I do not believe will ever happen. The quality of the fabrication was good, installers were fine (except they did not caulk) but the management/customer service was not. If they step up and actually address my issues then I will update my comments. read more
