I'm a repeat customer. AJ was very responsive and prompt obtaining the filter for replacement on the day before the Thanksgiving holiday.

This company was assigned to replace my water heater by my home warranty company (First American). AJ said it was going to cost $480 in "modifications". Immediately after the install it had problems. The pressure was too high and the overflow valve started leaking outside. The water heater made a loud high pitch noise audible in the house. I showed him multiple videos. This has never happened prior to replacement. I called the home warranty company and they sent AJ back out. He checked the pressure and said everything was fine. When I questioned him about the noises he said the pressure coming into the house must be too high. I live in a complex where that is regulated and nobody has had those issues. I later confirmed with the HOA that our pressure is regulated within normal limits. I was instructed to call the home warranty company back because there isn't anything else for him to do. 5 months later the cold water inlet is leaking and corroding. Which leads me to believe it wasn't installed properly for it to be going bad so fast. Now I'm submitting another claim to get that fixed. read more

BEWARE of this company. Very unprofessional and bad service. Our water heater pilot kept going out. The manufacturer said it could be a gas pressure issue. The gas company came out, found nothing wrong with the gas pressure, and tagged the water heater as "DANGER - Do Not Use" due to a "floating flame." We called American Home Shield, and they sent out Christati Plumbing, who recognized there was something wrong with the water heater but could not identify the cause of the problem or fix it. American Home Shield then sent out Pacific Tankless. The problem was not a "non urgent gas leak," as Pacific Tankless believes. A bald man with a thick accent (maybe eastern European) from Pacific Tankless showed up at our door wearing sneakers, cargo pants, and a yellow polo T-shirt with the collar up. No uniform. No tools. No boot covers. He had a mask on, but it was not covering his nose. He did not introduce himself and his first (impolite) words to me were "Inside or outside?" I politely asked him if he had boot covers. Sarcastically, he replied "Do you?" We informed the man that the gas company had shut down the water heater as a danger. The man ignored the warning, ripped off the "DANGER - Do Not Use" tag, and turned on the water heater. The pilot lit, so he said there's nothing wrong with the water heater and left. The man would not listen to us when we mentioned the "floating flame" problem and the pilot won't stay lit. AJ, owner of Pacific Tankless, claims the man is a "very respected gentleman," "ex pro athlete," and "expert in his field." A man who acts like that is not very respectable; having been an athlete has nothing to do with anything; and the man did not display any expertise. Also, conspicuously absent from AJ's list is "licensed plumber." A good company will send professionals (in terms of knowledge, speech, and dress) and make sure customers are satisfied with the service. Pacific Tankless did neither. Pacific Tankless is our worst experience with a plumbing company. We called other plumbers for quotes to repair or replace our water heater. Pacific Tankless was the only company that said there is nothing wrong with our water heater and ignored our concerns. The other companies listened to us and stayed around long enough to see the "floating flame." Overall, our impression of Pacific Tankless is they do not care about fixing the problem but only care about defending their Yelp reviews, some of which do not appear genuine. In addition to the above, we believe Yelp reviewers should keep in mind two things when considering Pacific Tankless: First, according to the Contractors State License Board website, AJ has never paid workers compensation insurance because he certified he has no employees. (See attached photos). That raises a serious concern about whether AJ has been misclassifying his "technicians" as independent contractors to avoid paying payroll taxes and workers compensation premiums. Second, in his initial response dated 2/11/2021 to my Yelp review dated 12/30/2020, AJ referenced our address. Obviously, that is a violation of privacy. The address has since been removed from AJ's post after it was reported to Yelp. read more

The first time AJ came to my home was last year when I had an issue with the temperatures in my showers. It was through my homeowners insurance at the time, but AJ was professional, timely and beyond nice. When he left me his card, I kept it even though I was hoping to never use it again. Fast forward about a year to this past Friday. I was getting a fridge delivered from Best Buy but the delivery guys wouldn't install it because they said the valve had calcified and I needed to call a plumber. In a panic I quickly went to Yelp, but then remembered the card AJ left me. I called him and he was able to squeeze me in day of. He came over with another associate and they were able to fix everything in no time! Pricing was fair and reasonable too. Would definitely recommend AJ at Pacific Tankless and will be calling them for all of my plumbing and heating needs. read more

My 2 years old tankless water heater stopped working out of the blue. Manufacturer was closed for a 7/4 weekend and no hot water and shower for a week! Called around some people but no progress. Initially had a satisfactory experience with AJ. He visited my property to assess the issue with my Navien tankless water heater. The Error 3 indicated a bad ignition. I asked him to call Navien as they require a licensed contractor to diagnose the issue to get a part under warranty. He did not call Navien but instead reset my unit while running water out the bottom valve which made it ignite, took $45 and walked away claiming he was unable to get the part yet from Navien. He said $45 would go toward installation of the new part as he clearly failed to do much of anything as of yet that I couldn't have done. Navien said he should have called first thing to get the part and the reset is only supposed to be done once in case of a glitch with error display. He did not try to replicate the error but only do what he called a short term fix and walk away. I asked him to get the part over the next three weeks as he expected it to break again. He ignored my texts many times. Finally the reset trick stopped working as did my hot water permanently. He claimed he was on vacation and I had to wait 7 days for his visit, then would not clarify if he had the part on hand yet or if he would have had to order it at that point and then wait. Finally he said no he did not get the part. Just tell me one way or another so I can address the issue?? Finally as I called Navien on his behalf then asked him to simply say a few words diagnosis and they would ship me the part, he ignores my text again, I call him again, then he abruptly drops me as a client because he can't handle constructive feedback that I simply said he should have called Navien the first time to get the part or maybe I was just TRYING TOO HARD trying to get my hot water working??? I paid for his diagnosis and he won't even call and report it to Navien. Unprofessional. Awkward experience. Bad at communicating in English. Irresponsible from a service standpoint. Failed to meet commitments. Not accountable. read more

This was the most disappointing experience of the four plumbers who bid on my tankless water heater. In spite of the company name, AJ appeared to be the least knowledgeable about tankless water heaters. He made totally unwarranted (and as it turns out incorrect) assertions about both the gas supply line and exhaust vent without bothering to actually inspect them. I suspect that he probably was uncomfortable with the conversion from a storage water heater in a condo and that he might be fine with installing one in a newer home. His quote for a storage water heater replacement was fair, but the other vendors were simply more knowledgeable and professional. Unlike some folks, it pains me to give negative reviews - much less be slanderous (technically it would be libelous in written form). AJ was very professional in the pre-visit communications (per the attached Yelp thread) so I'm not sure why his visit went poorly - other than that he arrived early & found a competing bidder. read more

Not only did he leave a mess after doing a hack job, the plumber said it is no big deal since we will be doing a remodel in the future anyway. Seriously? Pacific Tankless was chosen by our home warranty service for the second attempt at addressing our leaky shower. I was initially nervous due to the low quantity of reviews, but at least they were all good! Todd came out to our condo earlier this afternoon and fixed one of the problems (leaking around the handles), but the other problem (leaking from the faucet) was unaddressed. Given that there were two different problems, I'm not going to dock points because that could really come down to something as a communication issue. More important to me is how it was handled; I called Todd back and mentioned the tub was still leaky and he was back at our place after 45 minutes or so to replace the cartridges, which unfortunately was a far more complex and time-consuming problem than the simple caulking he had to do earlier. Sorry Todd! :( But he was a good sport about the whole thing and very friendly with one of our equally friendly cats, who may now be less friendly with us since there's no more leaky shower water for them to drink. I noticed that my water heater was leaking on a Friday night at 9:30 (of course). There was considerable rumbling and odd noises that I thought were probably an opossum. Unfortunately, it was the 40 gal tank starting to give way. I started calling around. Going price was about $1200 to $1400. I watched the youtube videos to see if I wanted to do it myself as a water heater was about $500 retail. I checked Craigslist and saw the ad for pacifictankless (not that I wanted to go tankless). He was advertising a $785 flat rate install price. I called A J Angelov and he said that he would be by in 20 minutes, but then pushed it back to 55 minutes. Fifty-three minutes later, A J appeared at the door. The extra half hour had been spent buying a water heater (a Rheem rather than the plumber standard Bradford & White) just in case he got the job. He did. He installed the water heater, replaced the venting, added a new gas valve (ours was the old spring type), and had it up and running in less than 2 hours. There was a water heater leak in my neighbours water heater and since it was the unit directly above mine, water had seeped into my ceiling and drywall. The entire ceiling in my closet and water heater closet was damaged and had to be removed. Since the water heater was in the way, that had to be taken out and replaced with a temporary electric water heater for us to use. AJ was very kind and prompt to come and finish the job in a timely and efficient manner. He was meticulous and careful enough while disconnecting the water heater such that there was not a single drop of water spilled on my carpet. The temporary water heater that he installed was also up and running in no time and he was in-n-out in less than an hour. called the owner Al to make him aware that when they replaced my water heater that the valve should of been replaced as well. Had to call SDGE cause i smelled gas. they came and there was a severe gas leak. called the office never got a return call back after several calls. to get my money that i had to pay sdge to replace the valve that should of been replaced. I then was fed up and left a voice message that i was going to report this to my Home warranty that sent them. well after i left that message who calls back the owner Al telling lies that the valve it was not damaged when they came , but i didn't have a gas leak or smell gas until his horrible company came and did work at my home. then he even fixed his lips to say i will send you a gift card for him not calling back and paying me back the money i had to pay sdge.
