They have waaaay too many cute options of all types of notions, trims, embellishment, etc. - my creative brain tends to explode with infinite new ideas each time I come here. If you need something specific, they probably have it - and in 5+ different varieties. It's great! The staff is always very helpful. Ask them where something is and they'll either show you themselves or they'll direct you to another employee who can better assist you. Heads up: they only allow FULL yardage cuts - no half yards, quarter yards, etc. So be prepared to purchase at least one full yard of anything you're looking to buy. read more

Amazing place to get all your bits and bobs for projects. They have vast sections for ribbons, elastics, buttons, grommets, yarn, patches, and craft tools, etc. Little tip: You have to have someone help you as they put any loose items in a baggie for you and write the price on it. This way the cashier knows what to ring up. If you're at the cashier and you put loose items in a baggie yourself, you'll be asked to go back to the section and have someone write the prices for you. read more

Awful! They state their busiest is open until 6pm yet I showed up at 5:55 to get one item and they refused to let me purchase what I rushed there to get. Especially, store Manager, Mabel! She is super knowledgeable, helpful and patient. The store is well-organized and beautifully displayed, making it easy to find what I was looking for. Prices are reasonable also great for students and designers who are new to the garment industry. I'm particularly impressed with the variety of products available. I called ahead because I needed Griffin silk beading cord. I was assured they had it, so I made my way...They did in fact, not have it. The closest they had was not what I had in mind. Other than not having what I was specifically looking for, they did have a plethora of trimmings. Zippers, ribbons, thread, the buttons! They seemed fully stocked to finish many projects. Dishonest staff deceive with a smile on their face, thrilled that they managed to palm off on the buyer something they couldn't sell. I recently visited Pacific Trimming & Buttons NY, a well-known and reputable store for sewing and craft supplies, but left feeling deceived and disappointed. I selected two rolls of white elastic ribbon, each costing $10, and asked for 2 yards to be cut from each. Two consultants assisted me. One cut the ribbon from the first roll in front of me, while the other took the second roll and disappeared somewhere. I noticed her leave but didn't think much of it at the time. She returned with a pre-cut, packaged piece of ribbon, which was wider and stiffer than what I had chosen. Both consultants handed me the ribbons, and I didn't realize the switch until I got home. This experience has completely broken my trust in Pacific Trimming & Buttons NY. It's strange to think some employees would choose to deceive customers and risk the reputation. read more

Pacific Trimming has a good selection of zippers, buttons, ribbon, and decorative stuff to sew onto clothes and accessories. The store is very well organized and easy to navigate. The folks working there left me to my own devices for the most part, so if you're looking for a more... assisted shopping experience this isn't the place for you. Prices were reasonable, not a super discount but not ridiculously high. I picked up belt buckles, jewelry hardware, and chain; it's all held up well. I used to love this place. I'd be there literally weekly buying ribbons, tulle rolls and sparkles. Until today. I had bought 2x tulle rolls that once I opened them were both defective. They were absolutely useless with folds in the fabric every 30cm. I brought them to the Manager for a swap out to be told that because I had opened them, I could not return. You cannot know the product is defective UNLESS you open it. She argued over a $7 product swap, told me I had used some of the tulle (why would I use any of a defective product?) , she did not care less about losing a long-standing customer not over $7, but due to the way she handled things. I always prefer to support smaller "Mom and Pop" stores. But I'm super sad to say that I will not be returning to this one. read more

I came here on a Saturday around 2pm. This is a great trims shop, and my favorite trims shop, in the heart of the garment district. They have tons of RiRi zippers, self-brand zippers,buttons, sliders, trims, some ribbon, lots of elastics, appliqués, lace, and beaded trims. They have the best selection I've found of elastics. They have a Chinese section and a Japanese section of elastics. Many different widths and qualities. They have some interesting novelty elastics like foil print and velvet. And corded elastic. Lots of buttons, closures and trims. The sales associates here are fairly helpful and moderately friendly. They have a very good selection of G hooks and adjustable sliders, which I found to be decent here. They're doing a pretty serious renovation, so excuse their appearance for a while while they finish up and reorganize/restock inventory. read more

I'm only giving it two stars because I'm a regular here. it's better to walking in this store because the customer service is so nice. But having the package ship to your home is a nightmare. 1st- when you order from them you are mandatory to pay 8.25?! 1-day mailing shipping if you from nyc ,and if you from out-state ,then I wish you the best of lucky. The only reason I stress about this issue. You want to hope the delivery person ( put it in your mailbox or even knock on your door). In because we are in a mid of a pandemic this shouldn't be a option because delay will happen. 2nd- if don't see your package within one or two business days call them nonstop "do not be humble" like me because I waited 2 weeks because we was in mid of pandemic I was trying to humble out in patiently wait because I really like this store . Do not do this. Why?! ( guess what you will look like a liar or you look like a karen in nobody wants to be her). Last- I've call them twice. In when went to location they told to twice that my package is USPS mind you it has in shipping payment so I won't forget it at the USPS. The manager was so RUDE and no matter what you asked her, she said NO. Clearly she doesn't care about customer satisfaction. What is more, SHE TOOK ADVANTAGE OF YOU by cutting you short on trimmings that I have to ask others to cut it again for me. I run short on one lace trimming that I bought from this place before. So I explained to her, I only need a little more than a sample. She didn't care and cut me a random piece and charge me for a yard anyways. I feel wired so I check after I paid for my stuff and it is only a little more than a half yard to a point the other worker who cut me a new piece said this is totally ridiculous! It is not big money because I am making a sample blouse but I was planning on come back and buy a bulk. And guess who is never coming back? Be cautious, everyone! Very bad experience! Good service - always someone nearby to cut ribbon. Check-out is a pain. One of the clerks was complaining to the other about the inefficiencies of their system; she wasn't wrong. 2 Stars because of the horrible customer service I constantly receive at this store. Pacific Trimmings is filled with trims,sewing notions, buttons, zippers, rhinestones. You name it, for moderate prices. How ever the customer service is ridiculous here. If you ask for help either no one speaks or understands enough English and they just roll their eyes and treat you like your business doesn't matter. I've even been ignored by the manager who just brushed me off, I had a question about scissors and he looked at me and attended the next customer. Mind you I'd just spent $300 on threads and trims. This store doesn't value their customers, so if your looking for great customer service I suggest going to M&J Trimming. There prices are a bit higher but def worth it. If you know what you need and are okay with helping your self find items you need then Pacific Trimming is the place for you. read more

I wish they had a larger selection for the same style of hooks plus the staff was rude and tried selling me stuff for more than what it actually cost, gave me more items so that i would pay more money, and after getting all my materials in quantities that i want, they charged me extra for an item i DID NOT purchase (checked my receipt when i got home). They have longer sharp spikes at $1.00 each (ouch!) and smaller studs as cheap as $.05, $.15 and $.20 cents in both silver and gold. I liked the silver better since the gold color had obvious signs of tarnish. I also bought a container of Pearl beads to sew on my sweater. The plastic container was sealed but from the looks of it they appeared to have holes so they looked ok to sew with them. Once I got home and opened the container...they were mixed of pearl beads that some had holes and some did not. What the heck?? As a matter of fact only 7 of the beads had holes and the rest of the 20 some beads had no holes. Make sure you come to this place with a list of what you need otherwise you get overwhelmed with the amount of options available. Your mind just goes wild with all the possibilities of projects that you want to create. read more

THE place I go for zippers. They have zippers in EVERY color of the rainbow and then some! At $1 for 20",22," or 24" zippers what's there not to like about the place? They also carry lots of trims, patches, chain, and items for making handbags as well as grommets, prongs, studs, nail-heads, and buttons for jeans. A Korean lady shuffles about the binned areas pushing a metal bread pan at you to help collect the studs, buttons and small findings. Prices here are good IMHO. read more

This really is my ideal trim store. The prices aren't always the lowest (otherwise they'd get 5 stars), but they really do have a killer selection here. I tend to come here for hardware, thread, zippers, webbing, and -- my new favorite find-- the best selection of colored Velcro I've seen in the Garment District. Other stores laughed at me when I was looking for teal Velcro... The service is great too. They're even nice to my well-behaved French Bulldog. I'm definitely a fan. read more

Quite spacious and a solid selection of most anything I/we were seeking. The front section of the store were set up geared at student shoppers, as organized bins containing oft-used notions made checking off the shopping list a breeze. Two complaints 1) Service wasn't particularly helpful until multiple inquiries were made, but the Korean shopowners/shopkeepers were undoubtedly knowledgeable when the correct questions were asked. 2) No prices marked, requiring frequent returns to the front counter. Convenient location and wide selection (they also allow exchanges and returns for store credit) make this a store worthy of repeat shopping. read more

I am a bespoke leather artist from the Midwest. Riri-brand zippers (best I've found) are impossible to find anywhere locally. The staff at Pacific Trimmings do an incredible job providing them while filling difficult and complex orders accurately and delivering them with utmost speed. Great selection of zippers and findings at a convenient location in the Garment District. However, store policy and customer service can use MAJOR improvements. While the sales associates are happy to assist, communication can sometimes be difficult. Also, be careful at the register because it is easy for your items to be miscounted or overcharged - prices are marked on the containers, but cashiers don't always know the prices of each item. As other reviewers have noted, the story policy is exchange only within 15 days, and certain items are excluded. This policy is okay, but I was greatly annoyed on my most recent visit when the store owner tried to deny me the right to even-exchange zippers for the same item/same price just in a different color. The policy printed on the receipt does not list zippers as an exclusion. In addition to insisting that the policy does not allow for the exchange of zippers, the receipts are often not itemized (at the discretion of the cashier), so he also insisted that I had not purchased the original items that I was trying to exchange. It is unfortunate that a store with such a great selection lacks so much in service. read more

I was working on a 1940s Wonder Woman costume for Halloween this year, and I wanted to make everything from scratch. A fashion designer friend of mine pointed me in the direction of Pacific Trimmings, and I found everything I needed and even got suggestions from the staff when I described what I was planning to do. The selection of fashion print elastic and cording is great, and I had been to a few places before going to Pacific. I was able to get the elastic, thread, cord, and ribbon for my costume all in one place for a really decent price. read more

Holy smokes, talk about trimmings! This store is overloaded with decorative accessories from biases, rolls of beaded chains, buttons, and decorations. It's moderately priced, so not the cheapest. But come here and you'll find what you need. The Asian owners know not customer service, so don't expect any. Just focus on the shiny buttons! read more

Plus, on occassion, if you're a student and you pay in cash you may land yourself a discount. On the downside, it can be VERY crowded and crazy. The prices are marked on their bins, but sometimes you will be rung up at different prices. Just keep track of what they charge you and make sure it is never more than what you owe.
