We searched Yelp for out of the way delights and came across this gem. Did we have the perfect experience? No, but the way they handled everything more than made up for the imperfections. First, the county was doing roadwork, so their trucks were parked such making it a challenge for us to park our small RV. It wasn't apparent to us where the entrance was, so we wandered around a bit (it's on the right side of the porch!). To be seated outside on the patio or porch, you need to let them know, so they can get you menus and ensure the table is clean. You can also order from the counter and eat inside or take it to go. The menu is extensive and you can build your own sandwich and get breakfast all day. I like that they provide a carafe of water. If you want anything else to drink you go into the store and get it - we picked up a can of Arnold Palmer tea. The Hubbs ordered the fish tacos and I got the Crispy Turkey sandwich. We split a basket of sweet potato fries which were the best we've ever had. And you pick your sauce, so we tried the black pepper aioli which was awesome! The sandwich was amazing and even messier because I added avocado! My husband failed to note that there was cilantro in the slaw on the fish tacos, which bothers him. He ate one and then we swapped meals. The server noted that and insisted on taking the tacos off our bill - even though I finished the basket! It was fun chatting with a few regulars and the servers were friendly and fun, even though the place was packed and we were asking a lot of questions! Well worth the drive! read more

I was so excited to try the eggs Benedict. It's an all time fave of mine and this just fell terribly short. Messy Eggs Benedict and burnt bacon. I can't believe they even served this. I spent 18 bucks and it went straight in the garbage. The last time I ordered here I got a deli sandwich. Got to the beach with it and they had forgotten the meat. Stopped in for breakfast. Both my husband and I got the PRS omelet, PRS "bacon" which is actually fatty, pork belly, spinach, mushrooms, and cheese blend. Came with home fries. I ordered a huckleberry mimosa which waThe portions are very large but the omelet was so greasy, and both the omelet and potatoes were so salty we couldn't eat it. So disappointed as we heard such awesome reviews from others. The server was so friendly and it's such a welcoming place, we truly wanted it to be good. Maybe we caught them on an "off" day or maybe it's because we don't salt our food but it was literally inedible 9/4/2020 Came back for lunch and my mind had been changed! Excellent food! Came here per a recommendation from a local. Ahhhhhmazing breakfast. We had the biscuits and gravy, their griddle pancakes (which are a crispy soft vanilla piece of heaven) and one of their scrambles (blanking on the name). It was very very good. They even make their own bacon which you MUST order. We're going to head over for lunch or dinner another night while here. Highly recommend! Two days later: Just got back from dinner and it was even more amazing. We had the tortellini with duck confit special which was unreal and their rueben. Sorry. This deserves its own sentence and frankly it's own review. Do NOT sleep ok their rueben. It was literally the best Rueben made of their own hand made pastrami my husband and I have ever had. The food is always good and prices very reasonable. Until today the service has generally been good also. Went in on my own today for a lunch about 1:30pm. Place was fairly busy but not excessively so. Asked for a table for one, was given "the face" by the server who said (not in a happy way...) that she would have to clear a small table for me as they were "very busy". It was the tone that got to me - clearly a single customer was not welcome. Rather a short-sighted approach in my opinion, as in 2-3 more weeks winter will be here, and they will be happy to have any type of customer. Ordered a takeout instead, went outside to wait, and found several small tables, any if which would have done fine on what was quite a warm day. That was not offered to me, I assume, because a single customer means an inexpensive bill and a small tip. Disappointing, will go back another day in the hope that this was a reflection of the bad server on one day, and not an overall change in the place. read more

Wow you got to try this place! We were in the area for one night and sure glad we choose this over driving to downtown. Causal laid back atmosphere with indoor dinning and outdoor patio overlooking river. But the food!!!! There was not a crumb left on our plates after the sandwiches and burgers my family devoured. The club and chipotle something (can't remember the name) were incredible! Bought a small tub of ice-cream to have as dessert on the way out!We will be coming back when we visit again! Our first time to this local gem. Celebrated our friend's birthday with breakfasts all around! I had biscuits and gravy. The homemade biscuits were good with a little crispiness on the outside. The gravy was nice and peppery with bits of sausage in it. Standard fare done well. My husband's plate was heaped full with a Mexican omelette. A half of avocado and sour cream topped this amazing looking creation. Half of it came home for another meal. The birthday boy ordered a half order of the country scramble. No complaints there. Lastly, our 4th diner ordered huckleberry pancakes, only to find that they were out of huckleberries; would raspberries be okay? She said okay. What can I say? This place is truly a hidden GEM which as a tourist you may not find. But FIND IT. The food here is out of this world, with a mother and son team making this a family run stop to impress for any meal. They have breakfast choices and fish burritos and sandwiches and AGH! All so Good! Not only that but the fridges are filled with a huge beer and wine selection, to suit anybody's taste buds. Totally reasonable pricing and great customer service. What a great place ! We drove out from Sandpoint as sort of an adventure and because of the Yelp reviews. At first glance as you drive up you wonder if you have the right place. It looks like a convenience store on the outside but did have some tables and chairs out on the porch. We went inside and all the tables were full. Granted there are only about 8 tables but you wonder where everyone came from. The food and the service were great !! The chef was also waiting tables and doing a great job ( he said that was not usually the case). The food was something you would find in a very fine restaurant. Excellent French toast and eggs. The scrambles looked delicious too. The atmosphere was fun and we really enjoyed the whole experience. When we left , all the tables and chairs outside were full too.
