We ate here for our second time, within a week, this afternoon. I ordered the Mexican combination plate and my wife ordered the chicken fried chicken steak. The service is absolutely unsurpassable. The food is very, very good. Everything we have tasted so far has been outstanding. The ambience is quite pleasant very family, friendly and features Route 66 upholstery on the booths. The prices are moderate. When you get a chance, go to Priest River in northern Idaho and try this place. read more

Comfort food at its best. The portions are perfect, food is really tasty..., but far more important is the bacon. They serve the crispiest (not burnt) bacon in the Pacific Northwest. Decided to stop here after a trip to the soap shop... I was sooooo hungry and def at the "hangry" stage (which my family knows is not a good thing). The inside felt like I stepped back into the 80's. The decor was very dated but still looked "homey", like one of those diners that are mom and pop owned that one would see in small towns. We had an option to sit on the patio (looked to be netted) but it was over 100 degrees outside and nice and cool in the restaurant so we opted to eat indoors. The staff was super laid back and attentive. The food was VERY GOOD. I had the Reuben with fries and it was great! Everyone in our group besides me ordered breakfast and they said all was delicious. I'm so glad we decided to stop here to eat. They have some purses, shoes and other various items for sale in a little section set aside. If we ever head back that way, we will definitely stop to eat!! The bathroom... was obviously dated, fit the decor of the rest of the place, but it was clean. Handle faucets. :) read more

Where do I start.. first, we are not picky people at all, this was just a ridiculous experience. This place has an incredibly crazy menu, 4 full pages, including an entirely Mexican food page. With a menu this big and all over the place, you can guarantee that the food will be average at best. Average would have been a treat though. The bloody mary was disgusting, now it was only $5.50, so cheap drink we won't even complain about that. The service was terrible, the waitress was nice, but the positives end there. The staff holler at each other non-stop (honestly I almost offered to go to the grocery store for them just so I didn't have to hear about it anymore) and they sing (not quietly to themselves)... that is fun. The staff arguing about the food issues is mind blowing though. The food.. so we both ordered items under the section of the menu titled "2 Egg Breakfasts", there is an option to add an additional egg for $1.50 which we asked for on one bfast. The waitress out of nowhere asked if we wanted gravy on our hashbrowns, which we both said NO, very clearly no. The first bfast arrived, the one with the "extra egg", with only 2 eggs and the hashbrowns are buried in gravy. The second bfast arrived ("medium rare" steak and "overeasy" eggs). The steak was medium well and the eggs had zero runny yolk, they were fully cooked. The bread for both breakfasts were not toasted and soggy. We were hungry and we had been there way too long (especially for how empty the restaurant was), so we were just going to eat and go. Once the waitress came back around, we did mention the lack of the extra egg and the gravy on the hashbrowns (only to make sure we were not charged for the extra egg that we did not get and the gravy we did not want) and her response blew me away. First she goes... ya I knew about the hashbrowns, the cook messed up and told me. Yet the waitress did not mention it to us, apologize or ask to replace the hashbrowns. She could care less that we no longer wanted the hashbrowns because we did not want gravy on them. To top that off she argued about that menu item only coming with one egg, so having two is considered extra, even though it is under the menu header that says "2 Egg Breakfasts" nowhere does it say one egg. I was not going to even bring up my overcooked food, but given her incredibly ridiculous response to us politely asking to not be charged for the non-existent extra egg and gravy we did not want (especially given how mushy and soggy the hashbrowns were), since now we do not want the hashbrowns. So I decided to mention my overcooked steak, showed her the inside to which she responded with "that is medium rare" and snottily said.. meat has to rest. LOL No frickin way, I cut it the second the plate landed at our table, it did not rest at our table. What likely happened is it rested under their heat lamp, continuing to cook to the point of it being overcooked super dry and chewy. They when I mentioned my eggs were overcooked, she looked at them and went you do not like them?! No, I ordered overeasy to dip my steak into yolk, no I do not like fully cooked (yet cold) eggs. I was not asking her to replace them, I was not going to eat them anyway and I definitely was not going to wait again. I thought maybe they could research what overeasy eggs were. At the end, she acted like she did us a great favor by giving us $1 off each of the bfast meals. Our total still being $63.70. We had multiple eggs we could not eat and a plate of hashbrowns, so no $2 off is not a discount, we still overpaid as we were given incorrect food and still made to pay for food that we did not order and did not eat. We should have been credited for the two fully cooked eggs and the gravy covered hashbrowns. We did not order them or eat them. We ate all the rest of the food, so we will pay for the food we ate. I honestly am boggled at how this place is in business. My guess is they just get drive through traffic, so no real need to have a customer come back. They really need to do better though. read more

Service was great and my server had lots of character. The overall experience was great, the food was very good ; it wasn't over the top and not to basic. I recommend the brisket sandwich with BBQ sauce its very good, our server made me laugh and he was real. The diner was clean and positive. Doesn't look like much at first, but when you are Hungary you stop in. The food was some of the best I had in a long time. Had the breakfast casserole and didn't disappoint. If you want want excellent customer service with a side of Greta conversation then this is the place for you. Both waitresses where the best I have had in a long time. Friendly service. Good food. There were many things that we did not care for as far as atmosphere- the bathrooms were dark and dirty feeling. The outside covered deck had a mildew smell. The inside of the restaurant had cobwebs on ceiling and items weirdly spread out around the place for sale. We could possibly overlook these things, but the very worse part of our experience was the owner and a group of friends sitting at a large table being very loud and drinking booze at noon on a Monday. That was surprising, then about the time our food came a woman from the owners group decided to take a phone call and because her table group was so loud she stepped away and sat at the table directly behind us talking so loud that we could hear every detail of her call. Ruined our dining experience completely. We ate quickly and left. We won't return. You should scroll to the bottom of their yelp page and read the 'currently not recommended reviews'. LOVED IT!! We ate here breakfast and dinner while we were in town looking at properties. The restaurant is run by the owners, Ken waits tables out front and he has a great sense of humor and makes everyone feel at home, his wife cooks all of the meals and she is a fabulous cook. Yesterday's leftovers are today's "beef bacon"? I seen a sign out front that said "Get some sausage in you... try our breakfast special". So I mosied on in for breakfast and this little feller in a funny shirt and short shorts (it was 32°) walks up and stands real close to my face.. He told me about today's "special". Thankfully it wasn't sausage day. It was Beef bacon and eggs day! I took the bait and ordered. Turns out that the beef bacon was actually brisket. Wow! This is pure marketing genius! It wasn't bad, although my taste buds were confused by a mixed up, leftover looking plate of dinner and eggs for the low, low price of $10.95!! (Down payment on a new car) What's the next special? Old Green eggs and ham Dr. Suess special? Pure genius, I tell ya. While I was dining, I noticed that the little guy in the short shorts is one of them guys who is really smart. I mean smarter than most folks around here or even at church. When he talks about customers, he throws out a full complement of clever double entendres and innuendo, you know, like that sign out front about the sausage. It all goes right over everybody's head and I just thought he was really funny except for them short shorts. I don't think he could be from around here, or he would have enough sense to wear some trousers and not stand so close. Maybe he's from Florida or California. The food is okay, but the atmosphere isn't great. And I witnessed the owner yelling at some lady because she parked in his lot when she was visiting the business next door. His lot was empty, and he had an 8x10 sheet of paper taped to his building stating non-customers weren't allowed to park there. It was dark, so you couldn't even see the "sign". After witnessing that, we won't go back. Even if the food was great, it's not worth giving our money to someone with such a short fuse. read more
